• jQuery: Animated header plugin

  I'm looking for a jQuery plugin that can help me with the following: I have a list of images I want to use for my header but they are pretty big (height especially) and I don't want to resize them to fit my small header div. What I'd want is a plugin that allows the images to start at the bottom of the div (or rather the top of the image at the top of the div) and move upwards so the entire image can be seen, and once up they are shown entirely (bottom of image at bottom of div) they should "blend" (opacity toggle or something alike) with the next image and thus create a continuous loop with all the images. I've looked through several plugins but have never found one that can achieve what I'm looking for (maybe I'm asking for a tad too much) but my JS is not sufficient enough to build it myself.   I'm using the totemticker jQuery plugin, but need to be able to stop it programatically. It doesn't seem to provide this feature, so I had a look at the source code to see if I could add it myself. It seems that all I need to do is figure out how to call base.stop_interval() However, I can't seem to make the object that is stored in base accessible to callers. I've made a couple of unsuccesful atttempts, but hopefully someone who knows a bit more about how jQuery plugins work can point me in the right direction.

• jQuery autosuggest example

  I need to implement an "autosuggest" feature on our site but it needs to re-query the on every keystroke after a certain number of keys (like every character after 2 it would need to query again). So the result isn't a limiting search. For example, the autocomplete plugins I've seen work like the following: [looking for a county] 1. customer types 'CA' and the first result would return 'Canada', 'Cambodia', and 'Camaroon' 2. customer continues to type and hits 'M' the new results would query within the only the existing 3 results (producing results of just 'Cambodia' and 'Camaroon') I need a solution that would be the equivalent of querying my datasource on each keystroke. I already have the ajax call that will return my results based on the "typed" params. For example (in the above example), it would need to make an ajax call passing 'ca' first and if the customer kept typing passing 'can' on the 3 character and so forth. Thanks.

  I'm looking for a simple light-weight jquery plugin that'll help me show something like this in my website: Essentially, this is like a timeline. I know the start and end dates (in that, they don't change) and the position of today's date just gives an indication of how far along I am into a task I took up on Jun 1, 2012. • How to make a plugin for [Path] Finder to browse zip-archives as folders?

  What really surprises me is lack of some essential functionality in Finder, when one migrates from Windows to OS X. One of the things is a possibility to open an archive as a folder, i.e. staying in the directory tree and being able to drag and drop files from the archive to folders in the tree, sidebar etc. What would you do to enable such functionality? Update Path Finder is an awesome shareware app, which I am going to use instead of the standard Finder (as quite many Mac users do), so I am more interested in a plug-in for Path Finder to browse archives. There is a possibility to browse packages (check the View Options), so I believe it is possible to extend it to archives. There is also a SDK for making plugins for Path Finder. The only question - how to make the plugin, so all struggling people get finally happy?

  I am using a jquery plugin from [ FilamentGroup ] called DateRangePicker. I have a simple form with two text inputs for the start and end date that I bind the DateRangePicker to using this $('input.tbDate').daterangepicker({ dateFormat: 'mm/dd/yy', earliestDate: new Date(minDate), latestDate: new Date(maxDate), datepickerOptions: { changeMonth: true, changeYear: true, minDate: new Date(minDate), maxDate: new Date(maxDate) } }); I have a collapsible table above this form that when shown, moves the form and the elements that the daterangepicker plugin is bound to, down lower on the page, but the daterangepicker appears to keep the position from when it was actually created. What code could I put in the daterangepicker's onShow Callback to update its position to be next to the element is was initially bound to? Or is there some specific jquery method or plugin that I could chain to the daterangepicker plugin so that it will update its position correctly. This would come in handy for some other plugins that I use that don't seem to keep their position relative to other elements correctly either.

  I'm developing plugins in Eclipse which mandates the use of singleton pattern for the Plugin class in order to access the runtime plugin. The class holds references to objects such as Configuration and Resources. In Eclipse 3.0 plug-in runtime objects are not globally managed and so are not generically accessible. Rather, each plug-in is free to declare API which exposes the plug-in runtime object (e.g., MyPlugin.getInstance() In order for the other components of my system to access these objects, I have to do the following: MyPlugin.getInstance().getConfig().getValue(MyPlugin.CONFIGKEY_SOMEPARAMETER); , which is overly verbose IMO. Since MyPlugin provides global access, wouldn't it be easier for me to just provide global access to the objects it manages as well? MyConfig.getValue(MyPlugin.CONFIGKEY_SOMEPARAMETER); Any thoughts? (I'm actually asking because I was reading about the whole "Global variable access and singletons are evil" debates)

The application id written in Delphi, but I want to be able to implement various plugins in whatever language is best of the job. Currently we have skills in Delphi, C# and Java, and would like to be able to implement a plugin in whatever language is required. Does anyone know of an example system that can be used to implement this ? So I declared some functions within the plugin, which I want to call from any other location, just like an object with methods. Is that even possible? To keep it simple: (function( $ ){ $.fn.myPlugin = function(){ // Here I want methods... function foo() { // do something... } } })(jQuery); Then I want to call the inner function from outside the plugin like: $.myPlugin.foo(); But that doesn't seem to work. So is it even possible? Or are there any other solutions? I don't want to use an normal unrelated jQuery-Class for this purpose. • Can't install ruby-debug-ide on Windows 7

  I'm running netbeans 6.8 on windows 7 pro (x64) with the bitnami stack and I'm using ruby 1.8.7-p72. Note: I can't change the version of ruby I am using because I am working with a team, this is a college project and we have only 3 weeks left before we have to hand it in. Changing the version of ruby at this time would be too much work I think. I can't debug my code with the IDE. It says I must have the fast-debugger installed but I cannot install it. When I try through the gui I get the following message: Building native extensions. This could take a while... ERROR: Error installing ruby-debug-ide: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension. "C:/Program Files/BitNami RubyStack/ruby/bin/ruby.exe" mkrf_conf.rb Building native extensions. This could take a while... Gem files will remain installed in C:/Program Files/BitNami RubyStack/ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/ruby-debug-ide-0.4.8 for inspection. Results logged to C:/Program Files/BitNami RubyStack/ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/ruby-debug-ide-0.4.8/ext/gem_make.out I have tracked the problem down to a gcc not being installed... I have installed cygwin but I'm not sure what I am doing and it's still not working... Anyone know how to fix this problem? (BTW- I have already done a lot of googling on this)

I've added this into my maven pom <dependency> <groupId>com.lamatek</groupId> <artifactId>googlemaps</artifactId> <version>0.98c</version> <scope>provided<>/scope </dependency> This then included the googlemaps-0.98c library under my project libraries in NetBeans, I right clicked and selected Manually install artifact and located the googlemaps.jar file I had downloaded. I've then added this into my taglibs file <%@taglib prefix="googlemaps" uri="/WEB-INF/googlemaps" %> And have then included this where I actually want to show a map on my jsp <googlemaps:map id="map" width="250" height="300" version="2" type="STREET" zoom="12"> <googlemaps:key domain="localhost" key="xxxx"/> <googlemaps:point id="point1" address="74 Connors Lane" city="Elkton" state="MD" zipcode="21921" country="US"/> <googlemaps:marker id="marker1" point="point1"/> </googlemaps:map> But when I load up my application, I get the following error. org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /jsp/dashboard.jsp(1,1) /jsp/common/taglibs.jsp(6,56) PWC6117: File "/WEB-INF/googlemaps" not found root cause org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /jsp/common/taglibs.jsp(6,56) PWC6117: File "/WEB-INF/googlemaps" not found Have I missed something simple?
