    We've got a new beta Recommendation Bar plugin at our www.booknik.ru web-site. It works perfect when people logged it is its administrator or developer and it's not when isn casual user without any special role. We tried to submit our read.article action, but it was denied with that: The built-in read.article you submitted doesn't meet our requirements (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/actions/builtin/#read). Please make sure your users can remove articles they shared "within" your app on each page an article appears. Once you have made the appropriate changes please delete this action, create a new one, and submit it. As for that, our plugin users have the ability to delete their activity but Facebook doesn't allow us to make this plugin public. What should we do to make it work? Thanks a lot for your help!

  • Prevent form field to be edited without disabling field

    I am currently working on a page that has a date picker for one of the field. One of the requirements by my client is to prevent the user from editing the field manually. Only the date picker would be possible to be used. (jQuery DatePicker) I had in mind to disable the field and use an hidden field to store the data (disabled from object ton send data on post). This sounds a bit wacky for something that could be done by javascript I'm pretty sure. So the big question, in javascript is it possible to prevent manual edition of a field without stopping datepicker plugin?

    Hello All, I am trying to get hold of rails counter cache feature but not able to grasp it completely. Let's say that We have 3 models A B C A belongs to B or C depending upon a field key_type and key_id. key_type tells whether A belongs to B or C so if key_type="B" then the record belongs to B otherwise it belongs to C. In my model a.rb, I have defined following associations: belongs_to :b, :counter_cache => true, :foreign_key => "key_id" belongs_to :c, :counter_cache => true, :foreign_key => "key_id" and in b and c model files has_many :as , :conditions => {:key_type => "B"} has_many :as , :conditions => {:key_type => "C"} Both B and C Models have a column as as_count The problem is every time an object of a is created count is increased in the both the models b and c. Any help is appreciated. Initially i thought that this may work: belongs_to :b, :counter_cache => true, :foreign_key => "key_id", :conditions => {:key_type => "B"} belongs_to :c, :counter_cache => true, :foreign_key => "key_id", :conditions => {:key_type => "C"} But this does not help.   • jQuery Cycle plugin IE6/7 issues

    I've implemented a slideshow using the Cycle plugin, which is working in all browsers except IE6&7, where the images just show up in a list, and the #page_copy div is not hiding. I've been going through the code all day without any luck, and not exactly sure how or what I should be looking for. What would be the best way to go about debugging this issue?     I´m using JQuery Tools http://flowplayer.org/tools/ in one big project. The issues is: When I load a page using ajax all this JQuery Tools stuff stop working. I know I have to re-bind the events or use jQuery.Live but I don´t know how to do this with JQuery Tools. I need methods like $(".element").overlay(...) $(".element").tabs(...) workin live after using jQuery.load() (Ajax) Anybody know how to do this please? Thanks.

  • How to extend an 'unloadable' Rails plugin?

    I'm trying to write a plugin that will extend InheritedResources. Specifically I want to rewrite some default helpers. And I'd like it to "just work" once installed, w/o any changes to application code. The functionality is provided in a module which needs to be included in a right place. The question is where? :) The first attempt was to do it in my plugin's init.rb: InheritedResources::Base.send :include, MyModule It works in production, but fails miserably in development since InheritedResource::Base declared as unloadable and so its code is reloaded on each request. So my module is there for the first request, and then its gone. InheritedResource::Base is 'pulled' in again by any controller that uses it: Class SomeController < InheritedResource::Base But no code is 'pulling in' my extension module since it is not referenced anywhere except init.rb which is not re-loaded on each request So right now I'm just including the module manually in every controller that needs it which sucks. I can't even include it once in ApplicationController because InheritedResources inherites from it and so it will override any changes back.

    Hi, I am using the liveTwitter plugin The problem is that I need to stop the plugin from hitting the Twitter api. Anyway, I get an undefined error.   • Eclipse Plugin does not work in FlashBuilder/FlexBuilder Standalone

    Hi, created an Eclipse plugin that contributes to the UI by a new project wizard a new menu in the context menu of projects in the Package Explorer a new project nature + builder a new preference page for the plugin The plugin works fine when installed in a normal Eclipse instance with Flex/Flashbuilder as plugin. The problem now is, that the plugin never gets activated when i install it in a Flex/Flashbuilder Standalone instance. Neither of the features described above is available. (the start command is now "C:\Programme\Adobe\Flash Builder Beta\Gumbo.exe" -clean) My plugin depends on org.eclipse.ui, org.eclipse.core.runtime, org.eclipse.core.resources, com.adobe.flexbuilder.project com.adobe.flexbuilder.project.ui com.adobe.flexbuilder.ui All of these should be available, as i see it. (and an error should be generated if they were not, i hope)

  • How to validate selects / inserts are hitting the right server with MySQL Master/Slave

    I've got a rails app using the master_slave_adapter plugin (http://github.com/mauricio/master_slave_adapter/tree/master) to send all selects to a slave, and all other statements to the master. Replication is setup using Mysql master / slave. I'm trying to validate that all the SQL statements are indeed going to the right place. Selects to the slave (db2), inserts to the master (db1) but I'm not sure how to do it.     I would like to load a tooltip plugin (I'm currently trying qTip, but I've tried a few and have run into the same problem each time) inside Colorbox (http://colorpowered.com/colorbox/). Colorbox dynamically loads this code to display the images you want to show in it: <div id="cboxLoadedContent" style="display: block; width: 400px; overflow: auto; height: 498px;"> <img src="image.jpg" id="cboxPhoto" style="margin: 49px auto auto; border: medium none; display: block; float: none; cursor: pointer;"> </div> Using Colorbox's event hooks, I am currently calling my tooltip plugin on onComplete, but this only applies the tooltip to the first image in the group. If you go to the next image, the tooltip needs to be recalled as Colorbox regenerates the code displayed above. What is the best way to recall the tooltip plugin? I have tried to recall the tooltip by attaching it to clicking on the div with the id "cboxNext" as a test, but it doesn't work since it takes time for cboxPhoto to load, so I think the functions generating the tooltip load before they can apply to the image.

    Hi, I'm using the Boxy jQuery plugin to open dialog windows and populating it through ajax. http://onehackoranother.com/projects/jquery/boxy/ Here's my code so far: $("a.create").click(function (e) { url = $(e.target).attr('href'); Boxy.load(url, {title:'Test'}); }); This opens up a dialog alright. However, if I click the link again, another dialog will open. How can I make it such that the previously opened Boxy dialog will come into focus? I only want one instance of this dialog. I tried assigning a variable to var ele = Boxy.load(); but the variable ele returns undefined... Alas, I can't make out much from the limited Boxy documentation available. Enabling the option modal: true would prevent the user from clicking on the link multiple times, but I don't want the overlay to show. Thanks for any light you can shed on this. -Lyon

    Hi, I've been messing around with autoNumeric, a plug-in for jQuery that formats currency fields. I'd like to wire the plug-in so that all currency fields are formatted by the time the user sees the page, e.g., on load. Currently, the default that I can't seem to get around is that fields are formatted upon blur, key-up or other action in the fields themselves. I've been experimenting with the plug-in code and it looks like it will take this relative newcomer some time to resolve this, if at all. Anybody on this? Lille

    I'm a newb to jQ so please forgive my ignorance. I'm using Asa Wilson's plugin jquery.dirtyform.js to prompt a user of unsaved changes before they nav away from a page (ASP.Net C# 3.5). It basically loops through all controls and appends a class and handler to each input. Controls w/i an ajaxToolkit:TabPanel are ignored, unfortunately. I'd appreciate if anyone knows of this type of error and how to resolve it short of manually manipulating each control (as I have this logic in the master page). Thank you.

  • Make fancybox jQuery plugin with results from submitting a form on same page

    I am trying to take form results that are generated from a PHP call and populate them into a div that will then appear in a light box upon click of the submit button. So far I have successfully setup the form and am populating the results on the same page into a hidden div. I can make this div appear no problem in a light box by setting up a href link but cannot make it show up by simply by clicking the submit button. I know my fancybox and jQuery calls are good but not sure where I'm going wrong on the submit button. The first problem brought to my attention is how the activation email takes about six hours to arrive. It would be one thing if the email was not being sent due to errors but it is being send correctly, just slow. Also the server this is running on is also its own SMTP. I checked how the email was being formatted before calling the setup_email method and everything looks okay. I even dug into the ActionMailer lib and read through the files there and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. So what is most likely causing the email to take six hours to deliver?

  • Firefox crashes with mulitple Uploadify JQuery browse buttons and ajax

    Hi, I'm using four JQuery Uploadify browse buttons on a page that's calling the Uploadify code/buttons through Ajax. We have a javascript function called from onComplete which refreshes the Ajax page. The problem we're encountering is that when you start uploading one file, if you click browse to upload another file, Firefox will crash when selecting the second file. Any help is appreciated.     OK I think I get http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1991126/difference-jquery-extend-and-jquery-fn-extend in that the general extend can extend any object, and that fn.extend is for plugin functions that can be invoked straight off the jquery object with some internal jquery voodoo. So it appears one would invoke them differently. If you use general extend to extend object obj by adding function y, then the method would attach to that object, obj.y() but if you use fn.extend then they are attach straight to the jquery object $.y().... Have I got that correct yes or no and if no what do I have wrong in my understanding? Now MY question: The book I am reading advocates using jQuery.fn.extend ({a: function(){}, b: function(){}}); syntax but in the docs it says jQuery.fn.a (function(){}); and I guess if you wanted b as well it would be jQuery.fn.b (function(){}); Are these functionally and performance-wise equivalent and if not what is the difference? Thank you very much. I am digging jQuery!
