• Cannot SSH after resetting firewall on VPS

  I'm having trouble trying to SSH to my Debian 5 VPS with blacknight. It was working fine until I did the following: Logged into 'Parallels Infrastructure Manager' - Container - Firewall - Set to 'Normal Firewall settings'. It told me there was an error with the IPTables and offered the option again with a checkbox to 'reset' firewall settings, I selected this. I can see that that the default rules are been applied ( anything from anyone on any port and allowing anything to happen). • Exclude a directory from a rewriterule using ISAPI rewrite 3

  Basically I've recently added the below rule in my httpd.conf for ISAPI rewrite on an IIS server to make sure that it always defaults to lower-case file and directory names. RewriteRule ^(.*[A-Z].*)$ $1 [CL,R=301,L] This is all fine and dandy for every part of the site except for one directory which we can call /MisbehavingDir, the code in this particular directory is filled with mixed-case filenames and lots of server- and client-side scripting that would have to be rewritten to use all lower-case in order to work properly (with the RewriteRule above it seems to hit a couple of 301s in the wrong places which causes that part of the site to function poorly to say the least). Since I'm not in the mood for rewriting that part of the site I'd love to find a good way to modify the above regex so that it matches everything except paths starting with MisbehavingDir and since my regex-fu isn't really good enough I figured I'd ask here. Is there a simple "beautiful" solution to this that anyone wants to share or should I just set aside several days to rewrite the app, then test it and go through that whole dance?

• grep with negative lookbehind

  I'm trying to grep through a bunch of files in nested subdirectories to look for regular expression matches; my regex requires negative lookbehind. Perl has negative lookbehind, but as far as I can tell GNU grep doesn't support negative lookbehinds. What's the easiest way to get an equivalent to GNU grep that supports negative lookbehinds? (I guess I could write my own mini-grep in Perl, but that doesn't seem like it should be necessary. My copy of the Perl Cookbook includes source for tcgrep; is that what I should use? If so, where's the latest version? Don't tell me I have to type this entire program!)

But now I need a regex expression with a unknown size of numbers in the bracket . For example: 19 = NAND (1, 23, 13, 24) match1: 19 match2: 1 match3: 23 match4: 13 match5: 24 I don't know the number of the numbers. So i need a main expression for min 2 numbers in the bracket till a unknow number. I hope somebody can help me.

• Voice Recognition Connection problem

  I,m trying to work through and test a Voice Recognition example based on the VoiceRecognition.java example at http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/ApiDemos/src/com/example/android/apis/app/VoiceRecognition.html but when click on the button to create the activity, I get a dialog that says Connection problem. My Manifest file is using the Internet Permission, and I understand it passes the to the Google Servers. Do I need to do anything else to use this.   Hi, complete and utter newbie on spring webflow (and indeed, spring mvc). 30 minutes in... got the first page of my flow appearing, which happens to be a captcha, an input field and a submit button. The actual captcha value is stored in session and i need to validate that the input field values matches the value in session. In order to do validation, my model is passed a 'ValidationContext'. Question: i can't seem to access session data from the ValidationContext. How do i do this? Thanks!

• I can't get onChange to fire for dijit.form.Select

  I seem unable to correctly attach the onchange event to a dijit.form.Select widget. However, I am new to web development, so I could be doing something completely idiotic (although, as best I can tell (and I've read all the docs I could find) I'm not). I made sure the body class matches the dojo theme, that I dojo.require() for all the widgets I use (and dojo.parser), and still, nada.   I have been playing around with one of the iPhone examples from Apple' web site (ScrollViewSuite) . I am trying to tweak it a bit so that when I rotate the the iPad the image will fit into the screen in landscape mode vertical. I have been successful in getting the image to rotate, but the image is larger than the height of the landscape screen, so the bottom is below the screen. I would like to image to scale to the height of the landscape screen. I have been playing around with various autoSizingMask attributes without success. The imageView is called "zoomView" this is the actual image which loads into a scrollView called imageScrollView.   I'm refactoring a colleague's code, and I have several cases where he's using a cursor to get "the latest row that matches some predicate": His technique is to write the join as a cursor, order it by the date field descending, open the cursor, get the first row, and close the cursor. This requires calling a cursor for each row of the result set that drives this, which is costly for many rows. I'd prefer to be able to join, but what something cheaper than a correlated subquery: select a.id_shared_by_several_rows, a.foo from audit_trail a where a.entry_date = (select max(a.entry_date) from audit_trail b where b.id_shared_by_several_rows = a.id_shared_by_several_rows ); I'm guessing that since this is a common need, there's an Oracle analytic function that does this?

An example of the file can be found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff512405.aspx The swf does not need a visible interface, as it is meant for audio playing only and not user interaction. The swf should have a simple javascript interface for page-level interactions. These include: load(url): loads a PCM WAV file over the internet using the url that is passed through it. play(): Should play the PCM WAV file that was loaded stop(): Should stop playing the current file. I can provide a sample audio file that matches the specifications if the developer is unable to obtain a url from the link posted above.

I have another list of 4,000,000,000 strings with a maximum length of 256 with words out of articles and every word has an ID. I want to find all matches between the list of protein names and the list of words of the articles. Which algorithm should I use? Should I use some prebuild API? It would be good if the algorithm runs on a normal PC without special hardware.

In these apps, you just type a substring of the title of the tab (or buffer for emacs) to switch to this tab. For instance, to switch to a tab named "App_Code/Data/MyProgram.cs", you just invoke the tab switching command and then type "Progr" for instance to list all the tab whose name matches this string, including "MyProgram.cs". • iPhone Icon file in bundle blank when building for App store distribution

  I have been spinning my wheels for a couple hours on why when I build my app with my distribution cert with the device as the target the Icon.png file in the bundle is empty. If I build with my developer cert or against the simulator the Icon.png in the bundle matches the one in my project file. I have verified my Icon.png is 57X57, has no alpha channel, had extra finder attributes removed. I even took one of the Icon.png files from my first application that is in the store today, and it didn't work either. • MDX Except function in where clause

  Hi, i'm having problem restricting a query in mdx, using except function at where clause. i need to retrieved a set of data but which not in an specific set. Then i created the next query: select {[Measures].[Amount], [Measures].[Transaction Cost], [Measures].[Transaction Number]} ON COLUMNS,{[ManualProcessing].[All ManualProcessings].[MAGNETICSTRIPE], ManualProcessing].[All ManualProcessings].[MANUAL]} ON ROWS FROM [Transactions] where except([Product].[All Products].Children,{[Product].[All Products].[Debit}) apparently this works fine, but when i try to add another restriction to slicer, i got this error: No function matches signature (Set,Member). I'm currently working on mondrian 3.1 Is it possible to add multiple restriction to slicer when im sing the except funtion ? are there any other way to get this ? thanks in advance.

• Are the svn ruby bindings provided as a gem?

  I see a couple dozen gems that relate to svn, but what little documentation I can find on any of them shows that they are command-line wrappers and misc helpers. (svn-command, svn-hooks, etc.) I've seen code in the wild that does things like: require 'svn/core' and SVN.Repos.add(...), but the author of that module pulled his svn ruby tools via apt-get. This would not be an option for me, as I'm developing a windows/osx tool. Which gem am I after? From there, I'm happy to dig through code in lieu of documents, but with a call to gem query --name-matches svn --remote returning about 30 hits, I need to narrow it down a bit first.

• Ending a Rails 2 URL with an IP address causes routing error?

  I'm trying to construct URLs in the format http://servername/find/by/CRITERION/VALUE CRITERION is a finite set of strings, as is VALUE. Trouble is, VALUE needs to be an IP address in some situations, and it's causing me a routing error. Here's my route: map.find 'find/by/:criterion/:query', :controller => "find", :action => "by" And the error, from the Mongrel logs: Processing ApplicationController#index (for 127.0.0.1 at 2010-05-07 10:20:32) [GET] ActionController::RoutingError (No route matches "/find/by/ip/1.2.3.4" with {:method=>:get}): Rendering rescues/layout (not_found) If I visit /find/by/foo/bar or /find/by/foo/1234 I don't have problems. I suspect the problem might be Rails' inference of MIME types based on periods in the URL, but I don't really know how I can disable that. I've tried passing a :defaults = {:format = :html} to the route but that causes Mongrel to fail to start entirely. Any help appreciated!

• PhantomJS not exactly rendering HTML to PNG

  I'm having trouble adjusting PhantomJS to create a PNG file that matches the original browser presentation. Here is the entire sample html file. It's a sankey diagram creating using rCharts and d3-sankey. (You'll need to save the file to your hard drive and view it from there.) • How to use the md5 hash?

  Okay, so I'm learning php, html, and mysql to learn website development (for fun). One thing I still don't get is how to use md5 of sha1 hashes. I know how to hash the plain text, but say I want to make a login page. Since the password is hashed and can't be reversed, how would mysql know that the user-inserted password matches the hashed password in the database? Here is what I mean: $password = md5($_POST['password']); $query = ("INSERT INTO `users`.`data` (`password`) VALUES ('$password')"); I know that this snippet of script hashes the password, but how would I use this piece of code and make a login page? Any working examples would be great.
