  I am using Open Source toolchain to compile my iPhone apps. So I have no Interface Builder or XCode. How would I setup the layout of widgets like UIButton, UITextView, etc. Also, how would I add an event handler to those UI widgets? Please remember that I don't have Interface Builder or XCode.

• WinCheat / WinSpy-like tool for C++ Builder exes

  I just came back to C++ Builder after 5 or more years away. I seem to remember a nice tool where I could drag its pointer over the GUI of my running application and get lots of info about what was pointed at - handle, size, text, parent, children, etc IIRC, if the exe include debug info I could also get the actual variable name as used in the source. Does anyone know what program I am talking about? Thanks

• Is prefixing Windows Forms control names with their type OK?

  I have seen many responses that say that prefixing variables with their type is bad, since C# is statically typed and we have Intellisense, but I find that prefixing the names of the controls is useful because I don't need to remember the name of the controls or switch to the designer frequently. For example: btnLoad // Button tbFilePath // TextBox tvFileSystem // TreeView Is this considered bad? If it is, what's the alternative?

  I always click "Remember Password" when connecting to a database server. Sometimes when I come back into SSMS, it has it remembered, sometimes not. More often it does not.   I remember when I was developing in C++ or Java, the compiler usually complains for unused methods, functions or imports. In my Django project, I have a bunch of Python files which have gone through a number of iterations. Some of those files have a few lines of import statement at the top of the page and some of those imports are not used anymore. Is there a way to locate those unused imports besides eyeballing each one of them in each file? All my imports are explicit, I don't usually write from blah import *

• Which ISO format should I use to store a user's language?

  Should I use ISO 639-1 (2-letter abbreviation) or ISO 639-2 (3 letter abbrv) to store the user's language? Both are official standards, but which is the de facto standard in the development community? I think ISO 639-1 would be easier to remember, and is probably more popular for that reason, but thats just a guess. • how did i break :method -> :delete

  i refactored my entire application and gave it a whole new design. The one thing that seems to be broken is all the original link_to methods I had which were :method = :delete are now getting sent as a GET request. The only thing I did that I can remember that might cause it is delete jquery-rails from the gemfile (I'm just getting it from google ajax).
