• Primefaces tabview: set the active index on tab change

  I've got a tab view that contains two tab. When I switch from tab 1 to tab 2, I'm calling some code that executes a validation and updates some values. Depending on the result of this validation, I would like to stay on tab 1, or go to tab 2, and refresh the tabs' content. I thought adding an update attribute to p:ajax would render the whole tabview but only the tabs and/or the tabs' content is re rendered. And weirdest of all, if I change update=":form:tabview" to update=":form" or update="@form", I only receive the tab's content in the ajax response - the component disappears from the page! My bean is viewscoped, I'm using Primefaces 3.5, JSF 2.1 and Tomcat 7. Any idea? Thanks.

• Set page size using WIA (with scanner)

  Hello, I'm using WIA to acquire images from a scanner with C#. I can scan the papers, but I can't set up the page size correctly, it always defaults to A4 and I need to use Letter or Legal sometimes. I tried with the WIA_DPS_PAGE_SIZE property, but when I try to set a value, I always get an error, that the value is out of the interval (tried a lot of possible values). I wan't to be able to use WIA_DPS_PAGE_SIZE = WIA_PAGE_AUTO (for automatic page size), but I can't find anything on the web related to this. Does anyone know a solution? thanks!

• SChannel "cannot find certificate in either LocalMachine or CurrentUser store"

  We have an in-house application that requires the use of client SSL certificates to authenticate with a remote server (not under our control). This has worked without problems before but on deploying to a new server, we're having problems getting Windows 2008 to use the certificate. The certificate exists as a .pfx file that contains a private key. The same certificate exists in the LocalMachine store, again with its private key. We've ensured the one in the LocalMachine store is correct by creating a website in IIS against that certificate, so we're happy that the certificate, certificate chain, and private key is valid. The PFX has been created by exporting from the Certificates MMC snap-in. The issue is that we get the following in the system diagnostic logs that suggests it can't find the private key: System.Net Information: 0 : [5988] SecureChannel#23264094 – Locating the private key for the certificate: [Subject] CN=internal-server.company.com, OU=Servers, OU=Devices, O=org [Issuer] CN=SubCA02, OU=CA, o=org [Serial Number] 407ABCDE [Not Before] 31/10/2013 11:08:48 AM [Not After] 31/10/2016 11:08:48 AM [Thumbprint] 4354A34F6004F019E60F055979A47E50F62D1504 . System.Net Information: 0 : [5988] SecureChannel#23264094 – Cannot find the certificate in either the LocalMachine store or the CurrentUser store. I've validated the thumbprint, issuer and serial number listed in the log with the certificate in the LocalMachine store and these marry up. From what I can tell with much searching, this appears to be a permissions issue. The user the application is running as has been granted access to the private key (Personal Certificates - right click on the certificate - all tasks - Manage Private Keys), so I'm now at a loss as to which permission(s) it may be that is causing the issue.

• Avoid richfaces to send back javascript libraries in the ajax responses

  I'm using JSF 1.2 with Richfaces, and for every ajax request, the server is sending back the response, whichi is good, but it also contains all the links to the javascript files. I want to improve the performance so I just want the <body> to be returned, because all the javascript files are already loaded in the browser when the user logs in (my app is not restful). How can i do that?   I'm trying to used the MediaCodec API on Android to decode an AAC stream. (It's raw AAC.) I tried using the MediaFormat.createAudioFormat() to create the format object to pass to MediaCodec.configure(), but I kept getting errors when using AAC (audio/mp4a-latm). (It works with MP3 (audio/mpeg) though...) Finally I created a MediaExtractor for an AAC file and looked at the format object it was producing. I saw that it included the key "csd-0" for a ByteBuffer composed of two bytes both with the value 0x12. If I include that key and value in the format object that I used to configure the AAC codec, everything works. Does anyone have an idea what is going on? The documentation states that I shouldn't configure that key. Does anyone have a pointer to MediaCodec examples to decode AAC files without using MediaExtractor to generate the format object?

To do so I am animating a translate transform (I also tried making the Panel the child of a canvas and animating the X position with the same results), but the panel moves very jerkily, even on a fairly fast new computer. What is the best way to slide in and out (preferably with KeySplines so that it moves with inertia) without getting the jerkyness. I only have 8 buttons on the panel, so I didn't think it would be too much of a problem.   Hi, How can I pass the selected month from viewDisplay to the events function (which is a php call to the DB to load the events)? Only events for one month should get loaded at a time, but I'm afraid of what might happen if the user decides to click 'next' multiple times really quickly... Custom event details: As mentioned, it's every MVC action that throws this error until the app pool is restarted, and the error seems to be occurring in But i need some encrypted value which looks like my previous value. i have 3 kinds of variables to encrypt. those are String,numeric and Date type variables. My requirement is if i encrypt a date type, i need to get the cipher text looks like date. So can any one suggest with an example to impliment and encryption technique.

• SQL Server 2005: Improving performance for thousands or Insert requests. logout-login time= 120ms.

  Can somebody shed some lights on how SQL Server 2005 deals with may request issued by a client using ADO.NET 2.0. Below is the shortend output of SQL Trace. I can see that connection pooling is working (I believe there is only one connection being pooled). What is not clear to me is why we have so many sp_reset_connection calls i.e a series of: Audit Login, SQL:BatchStarting, RPC:Starting and Audit Logout for each loop in for loop below. I can see that there is constant switching between tempdb and master database which leads me to conclude that we lost the context when next connection is created by fetching it from the pool based on ConectionString argument. I can see that every 15ms I can get 100-200 login/logout per second (reported at the same time by Profiler). The after 15ms I have again a series fo 100-200 login/logout per second. I need clarification on how this might affect much complex insert queries in production environment. I use Enterprise Library 2006, the code is compiled with VS 2005 and it is a console application that parses a flat file with 10 of thousand of rows grouping parent-child rows, runs on an application server and runs 2 stored procedure on a remote SQL Server 2005 inserting a parent record, retrieves Identity value and using it calls the second stored procedure 1, 2 or multiple times (sometimes several thousands) inserting child records. The child table has close to 10 million records with 5-10 indexes some of them being covering non-clustered. There is a pretty complex Insert trigger that copies inserted detail record to an archive table. All in all I only have 7 inserts per second which means it can take 2-4 hours for 50 thousand records. When I run Profiler on the test server (that is almost equivalent with production server) I can see that there is about 120ms between Audit Logout and Audit Login trace entries which almost give me chance to insert about 8 records. So my question is if there is some way to improve inserting of records since the company loads 100 thousands of records and does daily planning and has SLA to fulfill client request coming as flat file orders and some big files 10 thousands have to be processed(imported quickly). 4 hours to import 60 thousands should be reduced to 30 minutes. I was thinking to use BatchSize of DataAdapter to send multiple stored procedure calls, SQL Bulk inserts to batch multiple inserts from DataReader or DataTable, SSIS fast load. But I don't know how to properly analyze re-indexing and stats population and maybe this has to take some time to finish. What is worse is that the company uses the biggest table for reporting and other online processing and indexes cannot be dropped. I manage transaction manually by setting a field to a value and do an transactional update changing that value to a new value that other applications are using to get committed rows. Please advise how to approach this problem. For now I am trying to have a staging tables with minimal logging in a separate database and no indexes and I will try to do batched (massive) parent child inserts. I believe Production DB has simple recovery model, but it could be full recovery. If DB user that is being used by my .NET console application has bulkadmin role does it mean its bulk inserts are minimally logged. I understand that when a table has clustered and many non-clustered indexes that inserts are still logged for each row. Connection pooling is working, but with many login/logouts. • WPF: Menu Items only bind command parameters once.

  Ive noticed this a couple of times when using menus with commands, they are not very dynamic, check this out. I am creating a menu from a collection of colours, I use it to colour a column in a datagrid. Anyway when i first bring up the menu (its a context menu) the command parameter binding happens and it binds to the column that the context menu was opened on. However the next time i bring it up it seems wpf caches the menu and it doesnt rebind the command parameter. so i can set the colour only on the initial column that the context menu appeared on. • Android ProgressBar.setProgressDrawable only works once?

  In a color picker, I have 3 SeekBars for Hue, Saturation, and Value. Calling setProgressDrawable on these SeekBars only works once -- at initialization from onCreate. When the user updates the Hue SeekBar, I want to call setProgressDrawable for the Saturation and Value SeekBars, to show the user their color choices for the new Hue. But all calls to setProgressDrawable (after the initial ones from onCreate) cause the SeekBar to be blanked. How can I update the background gradient of my SeekBars based upon user input? Thanks!
