• Rails routes direct index action to show action

  So I created some rspec_scaffold for an Exercise model and added "map.resource :exercises" to my routes file and I was surprised when the "/exercises" url rendered the show action. What the heck? • sd card folder is not being created in DDMS

  hi everyone , I am new to android. I intend to make video player which can play video from file as well as web URL. But the problem is that when my emulator runs , a sd card folder should be created in "File Explorer" tab of DDMS perspective in eclipse , which is not happening . That's why I am unable to push any file in the sd card and hence video is not being played. • Cant get Jquery ui autocomplete widget to work

  Im trying to develop my first ASP.NET MVC web app and have run into a problem with the jquery ui autocomplete widget. At the moment I have a form with a number of text boxs which would lend themselves well to an autocomplete ability. The code for my "Make"(Car make) text box is show below: jquery: $(function() { $("#Make").autocomplete({ source: '<%=Url.Action("Make","AutoComplete") %>' }); }); ASP.NET MVC controller: public ActionResult Make(string term) { return Json(Service.GetHints(HintType.Make, term, 20)); } GetHints() returns an IList of Hints, an object with just label and value string properties. The documentation implies that this is what I should be returning to the jquery but it doesnt want to work? Can anyone give me any advice/help?

• Documenting user scenarios and measuring/testing

  Please forgive me as I don't quite remember the exact terms for what I am talking about... hence my question. Recently I worked on a large Agile team where I encountered a method of defining user scenarios (much like user stories). These scenarios were a few very basic short sentences with keywords and a structure that could be understood by humans (especially project managers) and could also be coded against using some Java Framework (for verifying tests). The exact structure of this mini language used keywords like "when" and "and" or "if" which was how the framework parsed and verified the result. The purpose of this framework was to interface between management and the acceptance testing framework. So essentially management could write the tests themselves using English. The scenario went something like this: "When a user visits URL and User clicks on X Something happens (that can be measured)" Can anyone help me remember exactly what I am talking about? Many thanks

• xcode - iPad App. Status bar overlaps toolBar.

  I have an app fully finished. It is very simple. Uses a toolBar up top with a few buttons. Under this is a WebView. The WebView only opens one URL and there is no way to get away from this site. Thats the point of it. Now the issue. The status bar overlaps the toolBar. My temp solve is to hide the status bar, but I really need it to be there in this app. I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm fairly new to this. Thanks for any help.

• jQuery.load() Retrieving partial page content causes duplicate ID in DOM

  Hello all, I currently have a JS function that allows me to load partial content from another page into the current page using jQuery.load() However I noticed when using this that I get a duplicate ID in the DOM (when inspecting with FireBug) This function is used in conjuction with a Flash Building viewe so it does not contain any code to retrieve the URL from the anchor tag. function displayApartment(apartmentID) { $("#apartmentInfo").load(siteURL + apartmentID + ".aspx #apartmentInfo", function () { //re-do links loaded in $("a.gallery").colorbox({ opacity: "0.5" }); }); } The code above works just fine in retrieving the content, however it just bugs me that when inspecting with firebug I get something like this. <div id="apartmentInfo"> <div id="apartmentInfo"> <!-- Remote HTML here..... --> </div> </div> Can anyone please suggest anything on how to remove the duplicate div? • How to turn off particular monitor with .NET?

  OK, I know there are quite a few posts on this topic. However, none of them provide the solution to my issue: I don't want just to turn off my monitor(s), I wish my code to turn off a specific monitor. The URL the most people refer to, http://fci-h.blogspot.com/2007/03/turn-off-your-monitor-via-code-c.html, doesn't help here, as it turns off all the displays. So, I have my laptop screen and an additional external monitor. While I'm watching movies, I switch the display to the external monitor and my laptop screen goes black, however, it's still on and glowing in the dark. I wish to turn it off. Could anyone help please?

  I'm getting a javascript error. The form has a dropdown asking "How did you find us?" If the user selects 'other', which is an <option> with value=6, a text input field .referrer_other becomes visible. Javascript is currently reporting that: '$.listHidden[...] is null or not an object'. It's an error that appears in IE. I found this code on the internet somewhere. Is there a way to fix it, or should I look for something else? Thanks

• How to preselect nodes using jsTree jQuery plug-in

  I am using the jsTree jQuery plug-in with its "Checkbox" plug-in and using an async http request to lazy-load each level of the tree. All works great, except that I cannot get the tree to pre-select certain nodes after the first level. I am using the "selected" attribute to provide an array of ID's to preselect. ID's in the top level of the tree are correctly pre-selected. However, ID's in lower levels of the tree are not selected when the level loads. Am I missing something? • How does the same origin policy apply to IP addresses

  I have a server on our company intranet that runs JBoss. I want to send API calls to this server from my machine, also on the intranet, and get the resulting XML responses using JQuery. I read the entry on Wikipedia but am confused how that applies to my situation, since our machines only have IP addresses, not domain names. I have server URL: 10.2.200.3:8001/serviceroot/service client IP address: 10.2.201.217 My questions are: As far as I understand these are different domains, right? So I have to use a proxy to issue JQuery.ajax calls to the server If I want to avoid doing (2), can I install Apache on the server and server the page with JS code form there? But then the JS will be from 10.2.200.3 and the server is at 10.2.200.3:8001. Aren't these considered different domains according to policy? Thanks!

• get img src from an img loaded dynamically using jQuery

  Hey Guys (and Ladies) I am looking at getting the image name from an image with a src loaded dynamically. Basically what I am doing is using the Google chat badge on a site to live chatting. And else where on the page, I have an image saying Live Chat:Online or Live Chat:Offline. And I want this to change depending on whether I am available to chat or not. Does this make sense? Anyway, the easiest way I figure to do this would be check the img url. If the img is offline.gif then obviously I am offline. An example of a dynamically loaded img would be something like <img src="http://www.google.com/talk/service/badge/Show?encrypted_acount_id_here" /> Once this image has loaded, it loads one of the following images "http://www.google.com/talk/service/resources/offlinef.gif" "http://www.google.com/talk/service/resources/idlef.gif" "http://www.google.com/talk/service/resources/onlinef.gif" Hopefully this make sense now.   I am curious what writers (handlers, loggers) are you using. Text file and db its quite obvious, but what are other possibilities ? Firephp maybe (as in Zend_Log), mail, jabber, url ? Is anyone using syslog() or error_log() ? Are you using streams (especially custom ones) ? Are you using custom error levels or you limit yourself to predefined values? Are you logging common php errors / warning / notices? And last question - is there anything new in the town, worth consideration, apart of Zend_Log ? Or are you using your homebrew class?

My first try was with <rich:modalPanel id="mod1"> <ui:include src="#{mybean.generateURL()"/> </rich:modalPanel> but it just throws me a 404 page not found error, typing the generated URL directly into the address bar works perfectly fine. Does anyone know what's causing the problem , or what's the correct way to do this? The system is running on seam/richfaces. Thanks!

• Using rest-client to upload a paperclip attachment but getting no file found error

  Hello, I have a paperclip attachment that I wan to upload to a web-service using rest-client. However, when I try to run it, I get an error: No such file or directory - /system/postalimages/1/original/postcard-1.png?1274635084 But the file exists for sure: I see it in my directory. How do I debug this? • Android RTSP coding problem

  I have Googled my butt off trying to find where if there is a surefire way to make rtsp work. I have a radio station that I listen to that streams via rtsp. Of course by default Android doesn't want to play it. If I pop the URL into yourmuze.fm and create a station there it lets me stream it to my phone. After checking how it works I come to find that it streams to the phone via rtsp! So obviously there is something amiss. What makes one stream work and one not? This is the stream I am attempting : rtsp://wms2.christiannetcast.com/yes-fm It is an audio stream so I would be thrilled with most peoples problem of "it only does audio and not video." When yourmuze.fm streams, DDMS states it brings up MovieView to play the audio if that helps at all.

• Is there an HTML browser rendering engine for Ruby?

  Given a URL, I would like to be able to render the returned HTML to know width and height for each div, fonts' size for each piece of text, color of each element, position of each element on screen, etc. A possible approach could be traversing the DOM tree with Hpricot and checking CSS style by parsing the associated stylesheet using css_parser gem. But this would not consider default styles, inheritance, floats, etc. In Java there's Cobra, a Java Web Renderer, which is able to render a web page and query attributes like width, font size, etc. for each fragment. I could use Cobra with JRuby or similar solutions, but prefer a Ruby native tool. Is there any library like this for Ruby?

• Problem using Hibernate-Search

  Hi, I am using hibernate search for my application. It is well configured and running perfectly till some time back, when it stopped working suddenly. The reason according to me being the number of my model (bean) classes. I have some 90 classes, which I add to my configuration, while building my Hibernate Configuration. When, I disable hibernate search (remove the search annotations and use Configuration instead of AnnotationsConfiguration), I try to start my application, it Works fine. But,the same app when I enable search, it just hangs up. I tried debugging and found the exact place where it hangs. After adding all the class to my AnnotationsConfiguration object, when I say cfg.buildSessionfactory(), It never comes out of that statement. (I have waited for hours!!!) Also when I decrease the number of my model classes (like say to half i.e. 50) it comes out of that statement and the application works fine.. Can Someone tell why is this happening?? My versions of hibernate are: hibernate-core-3.3.1.GA.jar hibernate-annotations-3.4.0.GA.jar hibernate-commons-annotations-3.1.0.GA.jar hibernate-search-3.1.0.GA.jar Also if need to avoid using AnnotationsConfiguration, I read that I need to configure the search event listeners explicitly.. can anyone list all the neccessary listeners and their respective classes? • Can you clear jquery ajax cache?

  Hi I am wondering is it possible to clear the cache from a particular ajax method? Say if I have this $.ajax({ url: "test.html", cache: true, success: function(html){ $("#results").append(html); } }); Now 99% of the time a cached result can be used since it should always be same content. However if a user updates this content it of course changes. If it is cached and it would still show the old content. So it would be cool if I could pick out this cache for this method and clear it and all other cached stuff would stay. Can this be done?

• Ruby on Rails redirect_to not functioning in IF statement?

  Hi, I am redirecting a POST request to ensure the URL is correct along with other things. The redirect worked fine before I added in the if statements for town below: if !params[:address].blank? town = Town.find(:all, :conditions => ["name = ?", params[:address]]) @towns = town if !town.blank? redirect_to '/town/' + params[:address] else @town_invalid = 'test' end end end I am sure it is something simple and that I simply cannot see it. Also if you see any glaring errors or code mishaps let me know as I am just starting out. EDIT: I should mention this is what I get back from Safari when a real town is entered: Safari can’t open the page.Safari can’t open the page “http://localhost:3000/” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again. Thanks!

• Task queue java

  Hi i'm new to Task queue java API i tried a simple Example for it.
