  I am trying to implemet django-updown https://github.com/weluse/django-updown. When I try to add vote trough the admin panel it says Value 1 not a valid choice. • Getting deadlocks in MySQL

  We're very frustratingly getting deadlocks in MySQL. It isn't because of exceeding a lock timeout as the deadlocks happen instantly when they do happen. Here's the SQL code that is executing on 2 separate threads (with 2 separate connections from the connection pool) that produces a deadlock: UPDATE Sequences SET Counter = LAST_INSERT_ID(Counter + 1) WHERE Sequence IS NULL Sequences table has 2 columns: Sequence and Counter The LAST_INSERT_ID allows us to retrieve this updated counter value as per MySQL's recommendation. That works perfect for us, but we get these deadlocks! Why are we getting them and how can we avoid them?? Thanks so much for any help with this.

• Entity Framework 5 not updating navigation properties in both entities

  I have updated a project to use the new Entity framework shipped with VS2012, however I have run into some of my code throwing exceptions. In the VS10 version of EF I was able to create or modify and Entity and use its navigation properties before calling SaveChanges() For example: A Navigation property of a client having a collection of Invoices. Client c = new Client(); Invoice I = new Invoice(); c.Invoices.Add(I); I would then be able to use Invoice.Client somewhere in my code before actually saving it without issue. Now Invoice.Client == null. Similarly in setting I.Client = C, I does not show up under C.Invoices What am I missing here or is this just simply how EF5 is?

• Mysql with innodb and serializable transaction does not (always) lock rows

  Hello, I have a transaction with a SELECT and possible INSERT. For concurrency reasons, I added FOR UPDATE to the SELECT. To prevent phantom rows, I'm using the SERIALIZABLE transaction isolation level. This all works fine when there are any rows in the table, but not if the table is empty. When the table is empty, the SELECT FOR UPDATE does not do any (exclusive) locking and a concurrent thread/process can issue the same SELECT FOR UPDATE without being locked. CREATE TABLE t ( id INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY, display_order INT ) ENGINE = InnoDB; SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL SERIALIZABLE; START TRANSACTION; SELECT COALESCE(MAX(display_order), 0) + 1 from t FOR UPDATE; .. This concept works as expected with SQL Server, but not with MySQL. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? EDIT Adding an index on display_order does not change the behavior.

• Reading line by line from a file in C

  What I am trying to do is print out the contents of a file line by line. I run the program in terminal by doing: ./test testText.txt. When I do this, random characters are printed out but not what is in the file. The text file is located in the same folder as the makefile.   Hi all, I've struggling to find a way to get and change and excel 2007 workbook connection (Menu Data - Existing Connections - Connections on this Workbook).It's a connection (several actually) to a SQL Server and used in a pivot table. I've tried using Application.ActiveWorkbook.Connections or Globals.ThisWorkbook.Connections but they both return always Null..I've tried in an sheet event as well as in a custom ribbon's button event as well. The only way left I can think of is use to code a VBA method that does the work and then invoque it in my VSTO code, but it's not very elegant is it... Thanks in advanced :-)

• writing a single line of a file in C++ into two different arrays

  suppose a text file has 11001100 11001101 and i open the text file and take the input from the file as pt[0]=11001100, pt[1]=11001101.. but if i take the input from file as inpt it wont put it in two different arrays which is obvious but it takes the whole line . Thus I have to take another for loop and traverse through the whole string and when I find a null character i start putting into the second array . But how can I do it without putting it into a variable and traversing .. I mean directly from the file itself ..

  I am following the best answer on Finding all files containing a text string in linux to search string in my project. This is my command grep --include=*.rb -rnw . -e "pattern" Zsh tells me that zsh: no matches found: --include=*.rb It seems that grep doesn't support --include option. When I type grep --help, it returns usage: grep [-abcDEFGHhIiJLlmnOoPqRSsUVvwxZ] [-A num] [-B num] [-C[num]] [-e pattern] [-f file] [--binary-files=value] [--color=when] [--context[=num]] [--directories=action] [--label] [--line-buffered] [--null] [pattern] [file ...] no --include here. Is my grep version too old? Or is there something wrong with my command?
