  • iPhone SDK: how to switch from a login screen to a navigation interface?

    I am beginning in iPhone development and have followed a few tutorials, but please indicate me if I'm going in the wrong direction. I have implemented my own UInViewController and a login screen view (with its xib). What I would like to do is that after clicking on the login button, it displays the RootViewController.xib, which includes the Xcode's default navigation application template. Is that possible? How?     I'm trying not to reinvent the wheel here...I have these four fields [tbl_Contacts].[FirstName], [tbl_Contacts].[MiddleInitial], [tbl_Contacts].[LastName], [tbl_Contacts].[Suffix] And I want to create a FullName field in a view, but I can't have extra spaces if fields are blank...So I can't do FirstName + ' ' + MiddleInitial + ' ' + LastName + ' ' + Suffix...Because if there is no middle initial or suffix I'd have 2 extra spaces in the field. I think I need a Case statement, but I thought someone would have a handy method for this...Also, the middleinitial and suffix may be null.

When we scroll that page down, older posts will be added to the end of the page (and maybe some posts at the beginning of the page but outside the view port will be removed). My questions are: - how to know if the user scrolls down/up with javascript/jQuery? - how to know if the user is at the top of the page (they click Ctrl + Home)? Thank you.

    I have a simple blogging functionality in my Rails 3 app. I am trying to add commenting to each post. The BlogComment model has a property, blog_post_id, to be able to find the corresponding comments for each post. I already setup my associations in the model, I also nested BlogComments under BlogPost in the routes file. However, I can't figure out how to give each BlogPost access to its respective comments through the controller so that they can be shown later in the view.

When a user is editing the model, I would like a particular drop-down to be rendered as text as I don't want them to change it. A read-only drop-down would suffice, but I'd prefer text.     I'm having trouble adding a button to a layout that I've created in XML.     So I have this schedule visit page with two groups. Group 1 contains a list of: Cases. Group 2 contains a list of: Parties. each group has a checkboxes next to its item for the user to select. My Issue when i select a case and/or a party and save -- then go to the edit page of the visit i just saved and only my selected case is checked and the party i selected is not checked. After debugging i realized that the partyId is not being saved properly during the create page and thus not showing as selected or saved on the edit page. I really need help on how to properly save the party selected and setting for it a value from the parameter. Here is my code of what i have for saving a case and would like to know how to properly save with party.     Is there an easy way to get a summary string of the errors that have been added to a controller's modelstate? I'm looking to return this in an Ajax method and want the validation errors etc to be returned to the client (i.e. the view does not exist for this method call). Or do I have to loop through the modelstate and look at each object and extract the error text manually?

  • drupal views block arguments

    I currently have a view (Drupal 6 using Views2) that properly aggregates a custom content type (videos) and filters them for a page display. When I create a block display, it previews the results in live preview just great, but when i go to the page expecting to see the block it doesn't appear. I'm fairly certain the argument I'm attempting to pass it fails because when I select "Display all results" for "Action to take if argument does not validate:" the block shows up on the page just fine. Any advice definitely appreciated.
