    I'm troubleshooting a java app where XML is sent between two systems using HTTP POST and a servlet. I suspect that the problem is that the XML is growing way to big. Is it possible that this is the problem? Is there a limit? When it doesn't work, the request.getParameter("message") on the consumer side will return null. Both apps are running on tomcat

    We have a managed COM addin for Outlook works flawlessly on a real machine now using VMWare 6.05 I think whe we try and install our addin OL refuses to load us and we keeo seeing a message( when we go to the manage addins dialog) saying a runtime error occurred when loading the COM component Nothing on event viewer We are seeing this on images of Office 2003 and 2007 anyone ever run into something like this where VMWare images are causing issues with OL addins

    I'm trying to reverse engineer how facebook handles their notifications, where when you get a message you get instantly notified via the browser. I've fiddled with it for a little bit and realized that there is always a pending GET request "listening" if you will to some sort of update from the server. This appears to be some sort of observer pattern. I was just wondering if this pattern was documented somewhere.

    Hi everyone, I've playing around with linux and noticed that for some mysterious reason commands like '/bin/sh ' just will not work. Each time I'm trying to start a process it yields 'cannot execute binary file' error message. m@sanctuary:~$ sh sed /bin/sed: /bin/sed: cannot execute binary file When I first launch sh and try to execute sed, it succeeds. I'm starting to loose my wits. It would be just great, if somebody could help me. Thank you.

    Does the native Blackberry API allow for the modification of any messaging interface? For example, I'd like to be able to build an app that added a button at the bottom of a received message which says 'translate this'. I've heard that this kind of thing is possible using J2ME plus the native BlackBerry API. Can this be done for all kinds of messages, eg SMS, email and BB messaging? The translation aspect is not relevant, it just provides the context for the kind of feature I'm after.

    in OO programming, is there some conceptual pattern, ideas, about handling multiple errors? for example, i have a method that performs some checks and should return an error message for each error found ['name is too short', 'name contains invalid unicode sequences', 'name is too long'] now, should i use an array of exceptions (not thrown exceptions)? or something like this is better: class MyExceptionList extends Exception{ public Void addException(Exception e){} public Array getExceptions(){} } any theory behind this argument will be appreciated!     I have set up Synergy on Unix systems with no problems, however when I set up a Synergy server on a Windows Server 2003 box using I get an error message that the mouse cursor is locked when trying to move to the client system. I use a Microsoft Natural keyboard in case that matters (seems Scroll Lock might be involved). Does anyone have experience with using Synergy on Windows systems that have reported mouse screen locking in the log when unable to mouse over to a client system?

After I have run this command once again, it does not shows a warning messsage but the applet viewer is not running. How can I solve this issue?

    When writing code errors, warnings and notices can occur. I know the idea behind errors. I suppose a warning is there to inform you about something that can cause an error, but isn't a notice exaclty the same? I suppose a notice is not a message of something doing right ;). It's just a bit confusing to me. Can anybody tell the difference between those two and the way these messages should be treated.
