I included a text file as output in a WCF set up project. The text file is correctly located in the same folder with the dll, exe, and config file after the project is installed (C:\Program Files\KLTesting\KLTestApp). However when the program tries to read it, it looks under "C:\Windows\system32", what's the correct way to find & read it? How do I prevent WIX CAQuietExec from logging the command line?

In order to prevent command windows from popping up during installation I am using the WIX built-in custom action CAQuietExec. First I define the command line: <CustomAction Id="A01" Property="QtExecCmdLine" Value=""MyExe.exe" /password [PASSWORD]" /> NB: The PASSWORD property is defined as Hidden. This prevents the Windows installer from writing the property value to the log. Then I call into the embedded WIX extension: <CustomAction Id="A02" BinaryKey="WixCA" DllEntry="CAQuietExec" Execute="immediate" Return="ignore" /> This works fine. However, when I go to the temp folder and open up the MSI log I see the following entry: CAQuietExec: "C:\Program Files\MyExe.exe" /password INCLEARTEXT I.e. the password is displayed in clear text and not hidden. How do I prevent the CAQuietExec from logging the password in clear text?

Managing StringBuilder Resources in C#

Hello. My C# (.NET 2.0) application has a StringBuilder variable with a capacity of 2.5MB. Obviously, I do not want to copy such a large buffer to a larger buffer space every time it fills. By that point, there is so much data in the buffer anyways, removing the older data is a viable option. How do I send a file as an email attachment using Linux command line?

I've created a script that runs every night on my Linux server that uses mysqldump to back up each of my MySQL databases to .sql files and packages them together as a compressed .tar file. The next step I want to accomplish is to send that tar file through email to a remote email server for safekeeping. I've been able to send the raw script in the body an email by piping the backup text file to mailx like so: $ cat mysqldbbackup.sql | mailx [email protected] cat echoes the backup file's text which is piped into the mailx program with the recipient's email address passed as an argument. While this accomplishes what I need, I think it could be one step better, Is there any way, using shell scripts or otherwise, to send the compressed .tar file to an outgoing email message as an attachment? This would beat having to deal with very long email messages which contain header data and often have word-wrapping issues etc.

MODX parse error function implode (is it me or modx?)

Hi, I cannot for the life of me figure this out, maybe someone can help. Using MODX a form takes user criteria to create a filter and return a list of documents. The form is one text field and a few checkboxes. If both text field and checkbox data is posted, the function works fine; if just the checkbox data is posted the function works fine; but if just the text field data is posted, modx gives me the following error: Error: implode() [function.implode]: Invalid arguments passed. I've tested this outside of modx with flat files and it all works fine leading me to assume a bug exists within modx. But I'm not convinced. Problem in suspending 2 threads at the same time in MFC!

I am learning about threading and multithreading..so i just created a small application in which i will update the progressbar and a static text using threading.I vl get two inputs from the user, start and end values for how long the loop should rotate.I have 2threads in my application. Thread1- to update the progressbar(according to the loop) the static text which will show the count(loop count). Thread2 - to update the another static text which will just diplay a name Basically if the user clicks start, the progressbar steps up and at the same time filecount and the name are displayed parallely. There's is another operation where if the user clicks pause it(thread) has to suspend until the user clicks resume. The problem is,the above will not work(will not suspend and resume) for both thread..but works for a singlw thread. Jquery: how to trigger td a when tr is clicked

Hey, I have a table where the first td in the trs contains a link. I want this anchor to be triggered (clicked) no matter where i click in the containing tr. I have read and tried alot of recents post and suggentions on this topic but i can't get this to work. I tried the trigger() and triggerHandle() functions, but it does not trigger the anchor click that i want. There must be others who have had the need to trigger a anchor click when a tr is clicked, so that the user doesn't have to click the tds anchor link. It sure is a nice UI feature if its possible? Dreamweaver utf-8 encoded php page displays wrong chinese character in IE and Chrome, correct in FF

I have an issue with character encoding: I have this page: http://www.studiomille.jp/class/ (its in japanese but the character in question is from chinese i think) FF shows it correctly, IE (all versions) and Chrome doesn't (sorry larger screenshots): FF Screenshot: IE Screenshot: (there are other character that are different throughout the site, this is just one example) Everything is set to UTF-8: * PHP sends header: Content-Type:text/html; charset=UTF-8 * PHP starts with: mb_language('uni'); mb_internal_encoding('UTF-8'); * meta tag: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/> * all files are saved with UTF-8 encoding with DreamWeaver CS3 * the same font is used in all the browsers. On that page nothing comes from the db, everything is hard coded. The site has the same behavior on my localhost too. So why only FF gets it right and how can I make it work on IE also?

Fire only one Custom Validator at a time

I have two Custom Validators attached to a textbox. The textbox is to enter comma separated list of emails. The first validator checks that there is not duplicate email address. The second custom validator checks that all the email addresses are in valid format. I have following code and it works fine. However, when both the failure criteria is met both of them are firing and I get two * at the right side of my textbox. What is the best approach to show only one * at a time? I see this in fiddler. If get rid of the javascript and click the button above, it goes through how it should. Why is JQuery changing my text?

Google Maps API 3 How to call initialize without putting it in Body onload

Hi I am using the google maps API and have copied the examples and have ended up with a function called "initialize" that is called from the body onload. I am using the maps in a few different user controls, which are placed within content place holders, so the body tag is in the master page. Is there a way of calling initialize directly in the usercontrol rather than having to place an onload on the masterpage? Ideally I want my user control to be a stand alone control that I can just slot into pages without trying to access the master page body onload. I have tried calling the Initialize function from my page load of the user control (by adding a start up script), but the map doesn't appear. Any suggestions? Reading a file used by another process

I know this has been up for discussion but I can't find an answer to my specific problem. I am monitoring a text file that is being written to by a server program. Every time the file is changed the content will be outputted to a window in my program. The problem is of course, that I can't use the Streamreader on the file as it is being "used by another process". Also setting up a Filestream with ReadWrite won't do any good since I cannot control the process that is using the file. However... You CAN open the file in notepad, so somehow it must be possible to access it even though the server is using it. Is there a good way around this? Should I monitor the file, make a temp copy of it when it changes, read the temp copy and the delete the temp copy. I need to get hold of the text in the file whenever the server changes it.

The scenario is the following: - the user checks the CheckBox; - the user types a value in the TextBox (let's say "ch"); - the user presses the Button; - the page loads displaying only the records that match the filter criteria (in this case, all the countries that have names containing "Ch"); - the user clicks on the header of the column called "Name" in order to sort the data in the GridView Then, I get the following error: ORA-01036: illegal variable name/number.
