  • Member variable pointers to COM objects

    - by drelihan
Hi Folks, Is there any problem with keeping member variable pointer refernces to COM objects and reussing the reference through out the class in C++. Is anybody aware of a reason why you would want to call .CreateInstance every time you wanted a to use the COM object i.e. you were getting a fresh instance each time. I cannot see any reason who you would want to do this, Thanks, (No is an acceptable answer!!!)

  • jQuery jFlow plugin. How can I have more than one on a single page?

    - by Michael
Hi, I'm using a very lovely and simple plugin called jFlow that gives me a basic content slider etc. However, I can see no documentation or help on how to get two (or more) on one page at the same time working seperately from one another. At the moment, if I set two up, they almost combine as one, despite having a different configuration from one another. Any help would be great, thanks. Michael.

  • Dynamically loading database schema information in .NET

    - by Nigel
I am building a .NET application that given a connection string, at run time, needs to be able to retrieve information from the corresponding database schema, such as available columns, datatypes, and whether they are nullable. What is the best way to accomplish this? Has anyone done anything like this before? Many thanks, Nigel.

    - by user305210
Hi, I was wondering if there is some configuration, built-in functionality in tomcat that logs the URLs people are using to reach your website? for example: http://www.mypage.com/1.htm http://www.mypage.com/2.htm http://www.mypage.com/3.htm etc etc Can we enable some tomcat setting that would log which pages are being accessed the most? Thanks.

    - by Keyo
I'm seeking advice on best practice when submitting a varying amount of POST variables. Do I use JSON or some character separated list to merge all the values into one field or use a sequence of fields like 'autocomplete1', 'autocomplete2' and so on. Thanks in advance, Ben

  • Automatically select option from select menu with link

    - by Ben
Hello there, I am trying to use php (and if not php, javascript) to link to a page and include a "?type=foo" or "#foo" at the end of the link so that when the linked page loads it will automatically select a specific option, depending on the end of the link, from a dropdown menu in a form. I have tried to search for this but do not know what this action is actually called, but I've seen it done before. Does anyone know how to achieve this? Thanks very much.

  • NFS Client library

    - by Reflog
Hello. I'm looking for some stand alone library to access NFS shares. I am not looking for mounting the shares, just browsing and accessing the files for reading. Preferable something with a simple simple API similar to regular POSIX operations of opendir, scandir, read and etc. Thanks in advance!

  • STL: writing "where" operator for a vector.

    - by Arman
Hello, I need to find the indexes in the vector based on several boolean predicates. ex: vector<float> v; vector<int> idx; idx=where( bool_func1(v), bool_func2(v), ... ); What is the way to declare **where** function, in order to use the several user defined boolean functions over the vector? thanks Arman.

  • Is daisy chaining xslt an accepted practice?

    - by Stephen
I have a situation where I think I need to daisy chain my xslt transformation (i.e. that output of one xslt transform being input into another). The first transform is rather complex with lots of xsl:choice and ancestor xpaths. My thought is to transform the xml into xml that can then be easily transformed to html. My question is 'Is this standard practice or am I missing something?' Thanks in advance. Stephen

  • How can I show a "selection highlighting"-rectangle around a column of a Silverlight Grid?

    - by carlmon
I have a feature matrix implemented with Silverlight's Grid where users need to select a product. How can I indicate selection with a rectangle around the whole selected column? It is easy to put a CheckBox at the bottom of each product's column, but that is too dull. I would have preffered to use SL Toolkit's DataGrid (with built-in row selection), but it cannot be orientated vertically for a feature matrix... Thanks, Carl

  • Unit testing Jade

    - by Strawberry
Hi, What techniques and design strategies have people used to aid in unit testing Jade applications? In particular, how do people typically go about testing Behaviours - which are tightly coupled to the Agent instance and the Jade environment? I'm aware of the JadeMX project, but this appears to be geared more towards system testing - in particular the message exchange between collaborating agents. Thanks.
