  • Problem on style a button

    Hello i am new on Silverlight, i tring to make a base for a button and that button will change the central image accoring to the situation, however some parts will continue the same, for this reason i make a UserControl and i call that user Control from the code and add to the grid that i need. But this Usercontrol that i am trying to add have a style pre-defined and i don´t geted how i change de image background.   • Drawing animation

    I'm creating a simple app where when the user presses a button, a series of lines will be drawn on the screen and the user will be able to see these lines drawn in real time (almost like an animation). My code looks something like this (has been simplified): UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(CGSizeMake(300,300)); CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++ ) { CGContextMoveToPoint(context, i, i); CGContextAddLineToPoint(context, i+20, i+20); CGContextSetStrokeColorWithColor(context, [[UIColor blackColor] CGColor]); CGContextStrokePath(context); } UIImage *newImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); My problem is that: 1) As soon as the user presses the button, the UIThread blocks until the drawing is done. 2) I can't get the lines to be drawn on the screen one at a time - I've tried setting the UIImage directly inside the loop and also tried setting a layer content inside the loop. How do I get around these problems?

  • SVN always getting errors when I commit (Subclipse)

    I have setup svn on my server and Subclipse at home. I am the only developer and am mainly using it for the backup and versioning features. Everytime I commit my changes I get eighter: Out Of date errors or Tree conflicts Sometimes I even delete files and they don't delete on svn, in a directory hierarchy only the very last item will delete so I have to delete each folder one at a time. How do I avoid these errors in the future? Update: Another problem I am having is that sometimes eclipse seems to sync with the server so that when I refactor a filename it goes off to the server and does something and makes me wait, which is annoying. And for clarity, this is a typical operation: I might change a filename, move a file to a different folder then change the contents of a file. I select the 'Team menu' and click 'commit'. Then I get all these errors above.

I have found that: $currentMenuId = JSite::getMenu()-getActive()-id ; Returns the current active Menu item However, $menu-setActive( $menuitemid ); Does not do anything, Whether I use, $app = JFactory::getApplication(); $menu = $app-getMenu(); $menu-setActive( $menuitemid ); or, $menu = JSite::getMenu(); $menu-setActive( $menuitemid ); How can I change the menu? As I do not want it to always be shown on the default menu.

  • Collision between 2 objects of the same class

    Okay, so I have an enemy class(With rotation, position, texture and so on). I spawn a few enemies on the screen, they move around, but they overlap each other. So I tried to do a collision check between two enemies of the same class. But no matter what method I try, it isn't quite working. Anyway when i implemented this solution, the enemies were not overlapping so everything was fine on that part. But, they were always moving to the right side of the screen. I've also looked up flocking etc, but I would like to know, how can I detect collision between 2 objects of the same class?

  • (iphone) maintaining CGContextRef or CGLayerRef is a bad idea?

    Hi, I need to work with many images, and I can't hold them as UIImage in memory because they are too big. I also need to change colors of image and merge them on the fly. Creating UIImage from underlying NSData, change color, and combine them when you can't have many images on memory is fairly slow. (as far as I can get) I thought maybe I can store underlying CGLayerRef(for image that will be combined) and CGContextRef(the resulting combined image). I am new to drawing world, and not sure if CGLayerRef or CGContextRef is smaller in memory than UIImage. I recently heard that w*h image takes up w*h*4 bytes in memory. Does CGLayerRef or CGContextRef also take up that much memory? Thank you

  • Domain Redirection While Maintaining Original URL

    I have two domains ("this_site.com" and "that_site.com") that I want to point to the same place (same set of files). BUT What I really want to do is maintain the original URL in the address bar while the visitor accesses the different pages. Example: The primary domain holding the web files is "this_site.com". If I type in "that_site.com" in the address bar, I want the address bar to keep displaying "that_site.com" no matter where they go on the web site. Normal domain redirection causes the URL displayed in the address bar to change to the 'master' domain (i.e. the visitor that typed in "that_site.com" will see the address bar's URL change to "this_site.com"). Is there some sort of .htaccess trick that I can employ to do this? What I'm trying to do is NOT confuse visitors who visit one URL and find themselves on a different URL as well as avoid the additional expense and trouble of having to maintain two separate hosting accounts.

    I'm using a slider as user input for a screen. Basically it's a bulk update screen where there is a table with multiple rows, thus multiple sliders. I created it so that the hidden value is what gets posted in the form. <td> <input class="percentageProvidedHidden" type="hidden" name='<%= "Values[" + i + "].Percentage" %>' value='<%=item.Percentage %>' /> <div class="percentageProvidedSlider"></div> </td> I have the update working just fine (move slider changes hidden input value, submit, values are updated in db), however, I can't get the damn thing to initialize with the value of the hidden input (note the "value: " parameter below). In this case I think $(this) isn't actually $('percentageProvidedSlider') but the page itself. Can someone help me get the slider value to initialize with the hidden input field? But my apps gets crashed with error at console : *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[_UIAppearance setTitleTextAttributes:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x79f5790' *** First throw call stack: Not sure, why i am getting a crash.     Is there a way to reference the colours used in the jQuery themes without creating a simple style for each theme that I may choose to use? Example: I have some text as follows <div>Hello</div> which I'd like to be change colour in line with my theme of the day. I wish to use the primary colour from a theme (say ui-lightness) which is "#1c94c4" as defined in several of the styles such as ui-state-default in ui-lightness.css The problem is that if I do the following <div class='ui-state-default'>Hello</div> I get all the other style effects, like borders and background colour, which are not right for my application What I'd like to do is something like <div class='ui-primary-color'>Hello</div> which would automatically change only the colour dependent on the theme. PS. Doing a pre-build pre-processing step to parse the themes and generate a customised css style would be my least favourable option here!

  • Beside SVN, how do you manage your development vs test vs production source code?

    I'm working on a very large project with three phases of source code. Development source code: changes rapidly every second, and checked by our QA Test environment code: released to clients' QA department (released every 2-3 weeks) Production environment: after confirmed ok by client QA its released to prod. (every few months) The system (governmental web app) is very large to track changes,bugs and hot fixes, sometimes the Testers could ask for a change, some other times the Production could ask for a hot fix or small update. The problem is, when the Test or Production request changes, the development code is already changed a lot, and they always warn us they want only that small fix, do not upload anything new with it. The question, how should i manage the code for the 3 phases, and get back to Test or Production code any tie and fix that small one thing (reflecting the change to the current Development as well)? Note: making a branch each time is too much, and i don't want the developers to be lost between updating the mainstream, the branch and the Test code!

    I have a dropdown select list on my page of class="TypeFilter". I have a jQuery event that fires when a value in that list is selected. $(".TypeFilter").change(function() { // Extract value from TypeFilter and update page accordingly )); I now have to add another list to the page, and I want to implement functionality which will prevent the .change(function() from running unless both are selected. In both lists the first option in the list is some text instructing the user to select one of the items, so I was thinking of just writing some logic to test that both lists have a selected index greater than 0. I think this is a touch unclean though, especially considering that other pages that have a TypeFilter use the same logic. Is there any nifty functionality in jQuery that can do this?

  • How to explain to a developer that adding extra if - else if conditions is not a good way to "improv

    Recently I've bumped into the following C++ code: if (a) { f(); } else if (b) { f(); } else if (c) { f(); } Where a, b and c are all different conditions, and they are not very short. I tried to change the code to: if (a || b || c) { f(); } But the author opposed saying that my change will decrease readability of the code. I had two arguments: 1) You should not increase readability by replacing one branching statement with three (though I really doubt that it's possible to make code more readable by using else if instead of ||). 2) It's not the fastest code, and no compiler will optimize this. But my arguments did not convince him. What would you tell a programmer writing such a code? Do you think complex condition is an excuse for using else if instead of OR?
