  • UIImageView Fade-In Dissapears

    - by Winder
    I have this code which should create a splash image with either no animation or a fade in, then call code to dismiss the image out after a delay. The SplashViewAnimationNone works fine and creates the full screen image, but the Fade code fades the image in but then immediately disappears. - (void)startSplash { [[[[UIApplication sharedApplication] windows] objectAtIndex:0] addSubview:self]; splashImage = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:self.image]; if (self.animationIn == SplashViewAnimationNone) { [self addSubview:splashImage]; } else if (self.animationIn == SplashViewAnimationFade) { [self addSubview:splashImage]; CABasicAnimation *animSplash = [CABasicAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"opacity"]; animSplash.duration = self.animationDelay; animSplash.removedOnCompletion = NO; animSplash.fillMode = kCAFillModeForwards; animSplash.fromValue = [NSNumber numberWithFloat:0.0]; animSplash.toValue = [NSNumber numberWithFloat:1.0]; animSplash.delegate = self; [self.layer addAnimation:animSplash forKey:@"animateOpacity"]; } // Dismiss after delay. [self performSelector:@selector(dismissSplash) withObject:self afterDelay:self.delay]; }

  • How to have a UISwipeGestureRecognizer AND UIPanGestureRecognizer work on the same view

    - by Shizam
    How would you setup the gesture recognizers so that you could have a UISwipeGestureRecognizer and a UIPanGestureRecognizer work at the same time? Such that if you touch and move quickly (quick swipe) it detects the gesture as a swipe but if you touch then move (short delay between touch & move) it detects it as a pan? I've tried various permutations of requireGestureRecognizerToFail and that didn't help exactly, it made it so that if the SwipeGesture was left then my pan gesture would work up, down and right but any movement left was detected by the swipe gesture.

  • My xcode mapview wont work when combined with webview

    - by user1715702
    I have a small problem with my mapview. When combining the mapview code with the code for webview, the app does not zoom in on my position correctly (just gives me a world overview where i´m supposed to be somewhere in California - wish I was). And it doesn´t show the pin that I have placed on a specific location. These things works perfectly fine, as long as the code does not contain anything concerning webview. Below you´ll find the code. If someone can help me to solve this, I would be som thankful! ViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import <MapKit/MapKit.h> #define METERS_PER_MILE 1609.344 @interface ViewController : UIViewController <MKMapViewDelegate>{ BOOL _doneInitialZoom; IBOutlet UIWebView *webView; } @property (weak, nonatomic) IBOutlet MKMapView *_mapView; @property (nonatomic, retain) UIWebView *webView; @end ViewController.m #import "ViewController.h" #import "NewClass.h" @interface ViewController () @end @implementation ViewController @synthesize _mapView; @synthesize webView; - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [_mapView setMapType:MKMapTypeStandard]; [_mapView setZoomEnabled:YES]; [_mapView setScrollEnabled:YES]; MKCoordinateRegion region = { {0.0,0.0} , {0.0,0.0} }; region.center.latitude = 61.097557; region.center.longitude = 12.126545; region.span.latitudeDelta = 0.01f; region.span.longitudeDelta = 0.01f; [_mapView setRegion:region animated:YES]; newClass *ann = [[newClass alloc] init]; ann.title = @"Hjem"; ann.subtitle = @"Her bor jeg"; ann.coordinate = region.center; [_mapView addAnnotation:ann]; NSString *urlAddress = @"http://google.no"; //Create a URL object. NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:urlAddress]; //URL Requst Object NSURLRequest *requestObj = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url]; //Load the request in the UIWebView. [webView loadRequest:requestObj]; } - (void)viewDidUnload { [self setWebView:nil]; [self set_mapView:nil]; [super viewDidUnload]; // Release any retained subviews of the main view. } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { return (interfaceOrientation != UIInterfaceOrientationPortraitUpsideDown); } - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { // 1 CLLocationCoordinate2D zoomLocation; zoomLocation.latitude = 61.097557; zoomLocation.longitude = 12.126545; // 2 MKCoordinateRegion viewRegion = MKCoordinateRegionMakeWithDistance(zoomLocation, 0.5*METERS_PER_MILE, 0.5*METERS_PER_MILE); // 3 MKCoordinateRegion adjustedRegion = [_mapView regionThatFits:viewRegion]; // 4 [_mapView setRegion:adjustedRegion animated:YES]; } @end NewClass.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import <MapKit/MKAnnotation.h> @interface newClass : NSObject{ CLLocationCoordinate2D coordinate; NSString *title; NSString *subtitle; } @property (nonatomic, assign) CLLocationCoordinate2D coordinate; @property (nonatomic, copy) NSString *title; @property (nonatomic, copy) NSString *subtitle; @end NewClass.m #import "NewClass.h" @implementation newClass @synthesize coordinate, title, subtitle; @end

  • UIActivityView and blocking

    - by Rob Bonner
    Hello, I have a section of code that uploads an image: [activity startAnimating]; [self uploadImage:img Session_id:appDelegate.sessionID PlaceID:place.placeID Comment:comment.text]; [activity stopAnimating]; I am sure that activity is wired up correctly to a UIActivityViewIndicator, but it never shows. Inside the uploadImage function, I open a connection to the server and start the upload. Does anyone have an example or possible explanation as to why the activity view would not display?

  • Mobile Safari Youtube opened via javascript

    - by Squeegy
    We have a youtube player embedded in a plage in Mobile Safari and it works great. But we need to be able to launch the youtube player by a means other than user tapping the video itself, for various reasons. So I am trying to figure out what event to trigger in javascript to make it happen with no luck. None of the following appear to work. var vid = document.getElementById('vid'); vid.click(); vid.onclick(); vid.ontouchend(); vid.ontouchstart(); vid.focus(); I tried to find an event handler added to the embedded object with this snippet, but didn't find anything. for (var key in vid) { if (typeof vid[key] == 'function') console.log(key +': '+ vid[key]); } Is this just so wrapped up in a custom plugin there is no way?

  • Confused about UIView frame property

    - by slowfungus
    I'm building a prototype iPad app that draws diagrams. I have the following view hierarchy: UIView UIScrollView DiagramView : UIView TabBar NavigationBar And a UIViewController subclass holding all that together. Before drawing the diagram the first time I calculate the dimensions of the diagram, and set the DiagramView frame to that size, and the content size of the scrollview as well. -(void)recalculateBounds { [renderer diagram:diagram shouldDraw:NO]; SQXRect diagramRect = SQXMakeRect(0.0,0.0,[diagram bounds].size.width,[diagram bounds].size.height); self.frame = diagramRect; [(UIScrollView*)[self superview] setContentSize:diagramRect.size]; } I should disclose that the frame is being set to about 1500 x 3500 which i know is ridiculous. I just want to focus on some other parts of the app before I get into optimizing the render code. This works beautifully, except that the rect being passed to drawRect is not the size that I set, and my drawing is getting clipped at the bottom. Its close the size i set, but bigger in width, and shorter in height. Also of note, is the fact that if I force the frame to be much bigger than what I know the diagram needs, then the drawRect:rect is big enough, and no clipping occurs. Of course this has me wondering if the frame size needs to take into account some other screen real estate like the toolbars but my reading of the docs tells me the frame is in superview coordinates, which would be the scrollview so I reckon I need to worry about such things. Any idea what is causing this discrepancy?

  • Problem adding UIBarButtonItems to a ToolBar

    - by Olivier de Jonge
    I have a UINavigationController with a UITableViewController in it. I want to show a ToolBar on the bottom with UIBarButtonItem's. The ToolBar is showing up, but the buttons won't appear. Anyone knows why? - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [[self navigationItem] setTitle:@"Selections List"]; [[self navigationItem] setRightBarButtonItem:[[[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithBarButtonSystemItem:UIBarButtonSystemItemAdd target:self action:@selector(addProjectSearch:)] autorelease]]; [[self navigationItem] setLeftBarButtonItem:[self editButtonItem]]; [[super tableView] setDataSource: self]; [[super tableView] setDelegate: self]; //Toolbar UIBarButtonItem * logoutButton = [[[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Log out" style:UIBarButtonItemStylePlain target:self action:@selector(logOut:)]autorelease]; NSMutableArray * arr = [NSMutableArray arrayWithObjects:logoutButton, nil]; [[self navigationController] setToolbarHidden: NO animated:YES]; [[self navigationController] setToolbarItems:arr animated:YES]; }

  • Strategy to keep track of stored files in the documents directory?

    - by mystify
    In my app, the user can save his input to disk. This is done with NSKeyedArchiver. Currently I simply name my files with a timestamp. But of course, the user may want to load one of them back in to keep on editing them. What would be the most reliable / safe strategy to keep track of those files? I need to present the user a list of those files, so that he can choose one to open. Currently I think of making an archived NSMutableArray which simply stores the file names, but I feel that this strategy is not really good. We all know when we save files sometimes something goes wrong, and this seems very likely to get currupted easily, or not? How would you do it?

  • rotating circle with swipe question

    - by Joe
    Okay so I'm making something that basically works as a knob, but only half on the screen -- so I just need horizontal swipes to cause it to rotate. I have it nearly all sorted with one exception: if you change direction of your swipe in mid-swipe, the rotation doesn't change direction. I even can see the problem, but not sure what to do about a solution. So in my touchesMoved, I get the swipe into radians in the predictable way: CGFloat radians = atan2f(location.y - centerY, location.x - centerX); I then store radians, add/subtract it to previous rotation and then give the result to the CATransform3D. So the prob is that even though the swipe changes direction, there is a "balance" which doesn't allow an immediate change of direction. Does this make any sense?

  • MPMoviePlayerController playback problem

    - by Fahri
    Hello all, I'm having trouble with playing audio stream using MPMoviePlayerController in the background. On the foreground it's playing the audio just fine, but when the application goes to the background, sound disappears and the time keeps going. I have initialized the AVAudioSession with AVAudioSessionCategoryPlayback and have put the required background modes to audio in info.plist file. Also I have set player.useApplicationAudioSession = YES;. What could be the possible problem here? Thanks in advance :)

  • Not sure how to use ccTouchesBegan to do what I want it to do.

    - by thyrgle
    So when I see ccTouchesBegan (or touchesBegan for that fact of the matter) I see something like this usually: - (void)ccTouchesBegan:(NSSet*)touches withEvent:(UIEvent*)event { UITouch* touch = [touches anyObject]; } But, what I am not getting is how do you just detect if one object has been touched? For example how would I check if a specific CCSprite I declared has been touched? Sorry if this is a newbish question but, I just don't understand and if you need more clarification just ask how I can clarify myself more.

  • Where I should call [object release] ?

    - by mongeta
    Hello, I've subclassed some UITextField and added some custom properties. In a UITableViewController, in the ViewDiDLoad I init them, and in the cellForRowAtIndexPath I add them to the cell with [cell.contentView addSubview:customTextField]; Each cell has a different customTextField as all of them are very different. Where I should call the [customTextField release] ? After I add them to the cell view ? If for example I call [self.tableView reloadData] my customTextField are going to be added again to the cell, so maybe I should change my approach in doing this ? thanks for the orientation ... regards, r.

  • Animated status bar style transition, a la iPod app

    - by Ben Williamson
    In the iPod app, the navigation views have the default status bar style, and the Now Playing view is in the black style. The transition between them is animated with a crossfade. I want to do that. My first attempt: [UIView beginAnimations:@"whatever" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.5]; self.navigationController.navigationBar.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlack; [UIApplication sharedApplication].statusBarStyle = UIStatusBarStyleBlack [UIView commitAnimations]; No joy, it pops to black. Takers?

  • How To Load Images into Custom UITableViewCell?

    - by Clifton Burt
    This problem is simple, but crucial and urgent. Here's what needs to be done: load 66px x 66px images into the table cells in the MainViewController table. each TableCell has a unique image. But how? Would we use cell.image?... cell.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"image.png"]; If so, where? Is an if/else statement required? Help? Here's the project code, hosted on Google Code, for easy and quick reference... http://www.google.com/codesearch/p?hl=en#Fcn2OtVUXnY/trunk/apple-sample-code/NavBar/NavBar/MyCustomCell.m&q=MyCustomCell%20lang:objectivec To load each cell's labels, MainViewController uses an NSDictionary and NSLocalizedString like so... //cell one menuList addObject:[NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys: NSLocalizedString(@"PageOneTitle", @""), kTitleKey, NSLocalizedString(@"PageOneExplain", @""), kExplainKey, nil]]; //cell two menuList addObject:[NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys: NSLocalizedString(@"PageOneTitle", @""), kTitleKey, NSLocalizedString(@"PageOneExplain", @""), kExplainKey, nil]]; ... // this is where MainViewController loads the cell content - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { MyCustomCell *cell = (MyCustomCell*)[tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:kCellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[MyCustomCell alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero reuseIdentifier:kCellIdentifier] autorelease]; } ... // MyCustomCell.m adds the subviews - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)aRect reuseIdentifier:(NSString *)identifier { self = [super initWithFrame:aRect reuseIdentifier:identifier]; if (self) { // you can do this here specifically or at the table level for all cells self.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryDisclosureIndicator; // Create label views to contain the various pieces of text that make up the cell. // Add these as subviews. nameLabel = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero]; // layoutSubViews will decide the final frame nameLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; nameLabel.opaque = NO; nameLabel.textColor = [UIColor blackColor]; nameLabel.highlightedTextColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; nameLabel.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:18]; [self.contentView addSubview:nameLabel]; explainLabel = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero]; // layoutSubViews will decide the final frame explainLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; explainLabel.opaque = NO; explainLabel.textColor = [UIColor grayColor]; explainLabel.highlightedTextColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; explainLabel.font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:14]; [self.contentView addSubview:explainLabel]; //added to mark where the thumbnail image should go imageView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 66, 66)]; [self.contentView addSubview:imageView]; } return self; } HELP?

  • How can i see if dealloc is being called on a uikit object, or any object not created by myself

    - by Gyozo Kudor
    I think i have an UIImage that has a higher retain count than it should have and i am probably leaking memory. I use this image as a thumbnail, to set a custom background to a uibutton. So the uibutton is holding a reference to it and so do i. But instead of 2, the retainCount is 3. Do i have to create a custom UIImage derived class and override dealloc if I want to place a log message there and then change the class used from UIImage to my class, or is there an easier way. Thanks in advance.

  • Are CMAttitude and CATransform3D related by rotational matrices?

    - by Alex Stone
    I'm looking at the core motion class CMAttitude, it can express the device's orientation as a 3x3 rotational matrix. At the same time I've taken a look at the CATransform3D, which encapsulates the view's attitude, as well as scaling. The CATransform3D is a 4x4 matrix. I've seen that the OpenGL rotational matrix is 4x4 and is simply 0001 padded in the 4th row and column. I'm wandering if the CMAttitude's rotational matrix is related to CATransform's matrix? Can I use the device's rotation in space obtained via a rotational matrix to transform a UIView using CATransform3D? My intention is to let the user move the phone and apply the same transform to a UIView on the screen. Bonus question: if they are related, how do I transform a CMAttitude's rotational matrix to CATransform3D?

  • iOS Facebook SDK: FBRequestDelegate only works on AppDelegate??

    - by RMR
    Hi guys, I want to encapsulate all my Facebook interactions within a FacebookFacade class to keep things clean and tidy. I have an instance of the iOS SDK Facebook class within my FacebookFacade. My problem is that when I make a Graph API call within the facade, such as: [self.facebook requestWithGraphPath:@"me" andDelegate:self]; the only method of FBRequestDelegate that gets called is requestLoading: and nothing else. I have tried putting similar code in other places, like in controllers and other models, and there too not all of the FBRequestDelegate methods get called, only requestLoading:. In fact the only way I can get the other FBRequestDelegate methods to be called is to put all my Facebook logic in the AppDelegate and make my AppDelegate the FBRequestDelegate. Why is this the case? Am I missing something here? I definitely do not want to use the AppDelegate as my FBRequestDelegate as I don't want to confuse the purpose of the AppDelegate. Thanks.
