    I'm working on complex user control(with Telerik components). I'm trying to implement following functionality: Typing some text in RadTextBox(let say: "Hello.txt"). Clicking on Button "Check". onClientClick for button "Check" will call WCF method with parameters. Let say that this request/response will take more that 10 seconds, meanwhile I'll see loading image near TextBox AND the most important, I can continue to work on other fields.     I have some prototype functions added to Object which in my opinion were practical in certain scenarios. However, I noticed that when I executed a $.get, the prototype functions are handled as data members and are sent like http://...?prototypefunc=false. This is rather useless as I don't supply these as data members, but they are added to the query string. To be exact, I have this code: Object.prototype.in = function() { for(var i=0; i<arguments.length; i++) if(arguments[i] == this) return true; return false; } $.get('http://localhost/test.php', {'test': 'foo'}, function(text) { }); The corresponding URL constructed is: http://localhost/test.php?test=foo&in=false How can I avoid this?

    Hello I'm trying to be able to check if a selector have a certain sets of classes. .hasClass() can only check if the selector has one class. And the .is() selector can look for multiple classes but will return true if the selector have at least one of the classes. But I wan't to achieve a way to check if a selector have both of the classes, and only if it has both of the classes do action. Any pointers?

    Is it possible to detect the computed font-size of a DOM element, taking into consideration generic settings made elsewhere (In the body tag for example), inherited values, and so on? A framework-independent approach would be nice, as I'm working on a script that should work standalone, but that is not a requirement of course. Background: I'm trying to tweak CKEditor's font selector plugin (source here) so that it always shows the font size of the current cursor position (as opposed to only when within a span that has an explicit font-size set, which is the current behaviour).

Now I want to toggle all the rows which have class names equal to their parent row id whenever parent row is clicked.   • TinyMCE loading lang/plugins/theme from incorrect directory

    I am having trouble with TinyMCE. When it is searching for the lang, theme, and plugins, it is supposed to look in the directory where the base script files are located. however, instead of doing that, it is using the current loaded page as the root for searching. I am looking at the "loadScripts" function in the src file, but changing the path doesn't seem to provide any meaningful effect.     Hey, I am working on an iPhone Web App using HTML & CSS. I have currently got the JavaScript/HTML5 Geolocation picking up my current location and showing me it on a Google Map using Lat & Long values. I also want to add these Lat & Long Values into the 'address' text field on the page so I can submit the details.   • window.open() in an iPad on load of a frame does not work

    I am trying to modify a site that uses "Morten's JavaScript Tree Menu" to display PDFs in a frames set using the Adobe Reader plug-in. On the iPad the frame is useless, so I want to open the PDF in a new tab. Not wanting to mess with the tree menu I thought I could use JavaScript in the web page being opened in the viewer frame to open a new tab with the PDF. I am using window.open() in $(document).ready(function() to open the pdf in the new tab. The problem is that window.open() does not want to work in the iPad. If I switch things around widow.open() works fine on a computer. In another project I am using window.open() successfully on the iPad from an onclick function. I tried using a timer function. I also tried adding an onclick function to the div and posting a click event. In both cases they worked on a computer but not an iPad. I am stumped. I know it would make more sense to handle the ipad in the tree menu frame, but that code is so complex I can't figure out where to put/modify the onclick event. Is there a way to change the object so that it opens in a new tab? Is anyone familiar enough with Mortens Tree Menu code that can tell me how to channge the on click event so that it opens the pdf in a new tab instead of opening a page in the frame? Thanks

    I have DHTML content inside a fieldset. This includes plain html, nested objects (even other fieldsets), and value change of input, select, and textarea objects. I'd like to change the border of the fieldset if the contents have been changed. The following works: $('fieldset[name=qsfs127]').children('input').change(function(){ $(this).parent('fieldset').css({border:'1px solid red'}); }) This handles the input; I can extend it to select and textarea. Questions: How can I do the same for html changes? Can all of this change-tracking be done by comparing current html() to stored one? If yes for (2), will this handle cases of "undo"? But the point is:: I use JS to read the required menu items (eg. 'aMenu1' together with title and/or link info) from a file to build all that, eg. for 'aMenu1' a complex is composed and $("#someElement").append(someString) is used to add that the 'someElement'. At the moment I build those html elements line by line. Also OK .. as far as the resulting string has the opening and closing tag, eg. "<li>aMenu2</li>". As can be seen from above posted code there is a line "<div id="' + menuSlider + '" style="display:none">". Appending that -- AFAIS -- the .append is automatically (????) adding "</div>" which closes the statement. That breaks my idea of the whole concept! The menu part isn't included in the 'menuSlider '. QQ: How to change it -- NOT to have that "</div" added to it?? Günter

    I have an ajax call and would like to recall it once I finish parsing and animating the result into the page. And that's where I'm getting stuck. I was able to recall the function, but it seems to not take into account the delays in the animation. i.e. The console keeps outputting the values at a wild pace.
