• How do I use a different image for each JQuery UI Slider handle

  I'm using a JQuery UI slider which has two handles (a.k.a range slider). I know how to style the first handle: .ui-slider-horizontal .ui-slider-handle {background: white url(http://stackoverflow.com/content/img/so/vote-arrow-down.png) no-repeat scroll 50% 50%;} But how do I style the second handle differently? Using Firebug I can see Jquery does not uniquely identify each handle: <div id="hourlyRateSlider" class="ui-slider ui-slider-horizontal ui-widget ui-widget-content ui-corner-all"> <div class="ui-slider-range ui-widget-header" style="left: 26%; width: 46%;"/> <a class="ui-slider-handle ui-state-default ui-corner-all" href="#" style="left: 26%;"/> <a class="ui-slider-handle ui-state-default ui-corner-all" href="#" style="left: 72%;"/> </div> So I imagine I have to use either a CSS child selector which could be cross-browser problematic. • Setting nested object to null when combobox has empty value

  Hello, I have a Class which models a User and another which models his country. Something like this: public class User{ private Country country; //other attributes and getter/setters } public class Country{ private Integer id; private String name; //other attributes and getter/setters } I have a Spring form where I have a combobox so the user can select his country or can select the undefined option to indicate he doen't want to provide this information. So I have something like this: <form:select path="country"> <form:option value="">-Select one-</form:option> <form:options items="${countries}" itemLabel="name" itemValue="id"/> </form:select> In my controller I get the autopopulated object with the user information and I want to have country set to null when the "-Select one-" option has been selected. So I have set a initBinder with a custom editor like this: @InitBinder protected void initBinder(WebDataBinder binder) throws ServletException { binder.registerCustomEditor(Country.class, "country", new CustomCountryEditor()); } and my editor do something like this: public class CustomCountryEditor(){ @Override public String getAsText() { //I return the Id of the country } @Override public void setAsText(String str) { //I search in the database for a country with id = new Integer(str) //and set country to that value //or I set country to null in case str == null } } When I submit the form it works because when I have country set to null when I have selected "-Select one-" option or the instance of the country selected. The problem is that when I load the form I have a method like the following one to load the user information. @ModelAttribute("user") public User getUser(){ //loads user from database } The object I get from getUser() has country set to a specific country (not a null value), but in the combobox is not selected any option. I've debugged the application and the CustomCountryEditor works good when setting and getting the text, thoughgetAsText method is called for every item in the list "countries" not only for the "country" field. Any idea? Is there a better way to set null the country object when I select no country option in the combobox? Thanks

• Problem Activating Sharepoint Timer Job

  I have created a very simple sharepoint timer job. All i want it to do is iterate through a list and update each list item so that it triggers an existing workflow that works fine. In other words all i am trying to do is work around the limitation that workflows cannot be triggered on a scheduled basis. I have written a class that inherits from SPJobDefinition that does the work and i have a class that inherits from SPFeatureReceiver to install and activate it. I have created the feature using SPVisualdev that my coleagues have used in the past for other SP development. I am not sure what is null in this case, the example i have followed for this is this tutorial. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

• Apps crashing - Android 4.3 in VirtualBox

  Performance and stability problem with Android 4.3 in VM. Tried with x64 and x86 System. VirtualBox V4.3.2 in use. Android could be installed on x86 only. But there it seems to be successfully, using the "Linux 2.2" template on VirtualBox. 1024MB RAM and 2GB Harddisk defined. Some times Android browser is crashing and closing. In all cases stuff like "Skype" and "Plats vs Zombies" does never startup after installing. Crashes directly. "Plats vs Zombies 2" is not able to install. Is there any way of gettings such stuff work?

  I have a web application using Spring 2.5.6 and Spring Security 2.0.4. I have implemented a working login page, which authenticates the user against a web service.   I was trying to follow this tutorial in order to create my own restful web-service using Spring framework. In the returned xml non-string objects are ignored!

• Calling "Base-Getter" in Overriding Getter of Property

  I have a base class "Parent" like this: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Text; namespace ConsoleApplication1 { class Parent { private int parentVirtualInt = -1; public virtual int VirtualProperty { get { return parentVirtualInt; } set { if(parentVirtualInt != value) { parentVirtualInt = value; } } } } } and a child class like this: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Text; namespace ConsoleApplication1 { class Child : Parent { public override int VirtualProperty { get { if(base.VirtualProperty > 0) { throw new ApplicationException("Dummy Ex"); } return base.VirtualProperty; } set { if(base.VirtualProperty != value) { base.VirtualProperty = value; } } } } } Note that the getter in Child is calling the getter of Parent (or at least this is what I intend). I now use the "Child" class by instantiating it, assigning a value (let's say 4) to its VirtualProperty and then reading the property again. Child c = new Child(); c.VirtualProperty = 4; Console.Out.WriteLine("Child.VirtualProperty: " + c.VirtualProperty); When I run this, I obviously get an ApplicationException saying "Dummy Ex". But if I set a breakpoint on the line if(base.VirtualProperty > 0) in Child and check the value of base.VirtualProperty (by hovering the mouse over it) before the exception can be thrown (I assume(d)), I already get the Exception. From this I convey that the statement base.VirtualProperty in the "Child-Getter calls itself"; kind of. What I would like to achieve is the same behavior I get when I change the definition of parentVirutalInt (in Parent) to protected and use base.parentVirtualInt in the Getter of Child instead of base.VirtualProperty. And I don't yet see why this is not working. Can anybody shed some light on this? I feel that overridden properties behave differently than overridden methods? By the way: I am doing something very similar with subclassing a class I do not have any control over (this is the main reason why my "workaround" is not an option). Kind regards

Is it possible to select the input via the label inner HTML with jQuery?   Has there been an announcement (outside microformats.org) that the value-class-pattern is fully accessible? e.g. given <abbr class="value" title="2008-06-24">this Tuesday</abbr>, will a screen reader say "24 June 2008" or will it say "2008 dash 6 dash 24"? History Microformats came along, and were great, except that dates etc were stored in abbr tags: <abbr class="dtstart" title="20070312T1700-06"> March 12, 2007 at 5 PM, Central Standard Time </abbr>` This lead to screen readers doing ridiculous things as noted in hAccessibility. Now that microformats.org have released the value-class-pattern it's a lot better. But I'm left unable to find a declaration from WaSP (or another accessibility source not directly tied to microformats) that declaratively states that they are now accessible to screen readers etc.

  Hi, All the examples I have seen where the PropertyPlaceHolderConfigurer is used seem to be setting simple values like Strings and ints. How do you use the PPC to set the values of classes. E.g. If i had a class signature Source(String name, DistributionSample batch, DistributionSample delay) How would I go about setting the batch and delay properties. There is also a small catch. DistributionSample is an abstract class. On the bright side, The class that is using the propertyPlaceHolder knows the beanName of the "Solid" class that needs to be instantiated. Any help would be much appreciated.

• Why would someone use ob_start in this manner and what is the point?

  Something is failing in the class I copied over. It's not my class, but the relevant bit that fails is: class foo { function process() { ob_start( array( &$this, 'parseTemplate' ) ); } function parseTemplate(){} } Does anyone know what the ob_start expression is supposed to do? Call the parse_template method in the context of a copy of &$this? PHP Version is 5.3.2-1. I suspect that the class was coded for 5.0-5.2 and it breaks in 5.3? or could it be something else?
