• Using ExtJS in ASP.NET

  I don’t have advanced knowledge in JavaScript, and I am trying to learn how to use ExtJS framework in ASP.NET (C# or VB.NET) environment. I’ve got couple of samples, but was unable get the project working. Now, I know that windows is only capable off listening, so I boot backtrack 4 from a usb stick.   Is there a function in Windows API to toggle the "Show hidden files, folders and drives" option in Windows Explorer (Tools Folder Options... View tab). I know of a related registry key, but changing that would not have immediate effect. The key is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/Advanced/Folder/Hidden/SHOWALL Trying to do this from C#, but the question is not language-specific.

  The documentation for the .NET Semaphore class states that: There is no guaranteed order, such as FIFO or LIFO, in which blocked threads enter the semaphore. In this case, if I want a guaranteed order (either FIFO or LIFO), what are my options? Is this something that just isn't easily possible? Would I have to write my own Semaphore?   i use proguard (support in mtj plugin) to obfuscate a project that has some third party jars but i gives me errors: Your input classes appear to be inconsistent. You may need to recompile them and try again. Alternatively, you may have to specify the options '-dontskipnonpubliclibraryclasses' and/or '-dontskipnonpubliclibraryclassmembers'. It seems that proguard use the classes in JavaSE. It only happens with projects that use third party jars :( Thank you in advanced!

  I have a ListView using the LargeIcon View mode with some 64x64 thumbnails. The problem is that the padding between ListViewItems is somehow based on the system's Icon size value (Display Properties Appearance Advanced Icon). The default for XP seems to be 32 and the ListView and its thumbnails look fine, but with higher Icon sizes, the items are spaced out horrendously. Is there any way to override this behavior and force it to use the same spacing?

• Identifier for win64 configuration in Qmake

  Is there a "win64" identifier in Qmake project files? Qt Qmake advanced documentation does not mention other than unix / macx / win32. So far I've tried using: win32:message("using win32") win64:message("using win64") amd64:message("using amd64") The result is always "using win32". Must I use a separate project-file for x32 and x64 projects, so they would compile against correct libraries? Is there any other way to identify between 32-bit and 64-bit environments?

  How convert a string into a ActiveSupport::TimeWithZone? My dilemma is this. I need to update a field (called updated_at). The field in mysql is datetime, and the class is ActiveSupport::TimeWithZone. But the dates are strings like "10/17/2008". I used "10/17/2008".to_date (And I intend .to_time and to_datetime), and even if in console the ActiveRecord class save succesfully, the field in the database still is the current date...
