  • NFC SDcard available in stores anywhere?

    - by Joqn
In recent years, several companies announced SDcards adding NFC communication to smartphones: http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/16/first-data-and-tyfone-announce-partnership-for-nfc-payments-by-m/ http://www.digitimes.com/supply_chain_window/story.asp?datepublish=2011/06/27&pages=PR&seq=200 However, I cannot find any online store that would sell such a card. Any ideas, or did they all not make it to market?

  • Are there webcam with their own IP address?

    - by Mawg
I am looking for a small, rugged web-cam, which can be hand-held or perhaps mountable. It must have its own IP address so that anyone can view its video stream from a web browser. I would prefer 2 way voice communication too. Encryption of data is nice, as is compression (H.264). Maybe also remote control, like causing it to zoom from the browser. Does anyone have any suggestions, even suggestions of somewhere else to look?

    - by Nick
I want do a web-application that consists of the following pages: Main, Inventory, Shopping, Login, and Report. All will be JSPs and all will be called using the MVC pattern where one of two servlets uses the RequestDispatcher to call the appropriate JSP. This uses server-side forwarding and not redirection. • Will Visual Studio 2010 democratize UML ?

    - by asksuperuser
I've been very upset these past years with all the UML tools (especially the clunky mammoth Rational Rose from IBM which I really hated each time a client asked to use it). I think UML did suffer from bad integration. I rarely used UML myself because of lack of productivity. So I had a positive surprise with Visual Studio 2010 especially the sequence diagram reversing tool which really helps understand code. For people who had tried VS 2010 Ultimate do you think the same ?

Hi all, I am trying to connect to mysql database on amazon through a php script, but I am shown this error: Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 111 I have tried and searched places and did the following things: In "/etc/mysql/my.cnf" I commented out the line bind address: 127.0.0.1 to allow the acccess to all. checked /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny and made sure that there are no rules present that may cause But still no luck. Please suggest any other way. Thanks, Madhup

  • IP address times out

    - by Werner
I'm running a dedicated server with a couple of game servers running on 4 different IP addresses. The most network-heavy server times out a few times during peak hours and all other communication (FTP/SSH) through the same IP also briefly times out. Other servers using other IPs are fine and unaffected as well as FTP/SSH using other IPs. The server is running Debian 6. What causes this, and is there anything I can do?

  • Subband decomposition using Daubechies filter

    - by misha
I have the following two 8-tap filters: h0 ['-0.010597', '0.032883', '0.030841', '-0.187035', '-0.027984', '0.630881', '0.714847', '0.230378'] h1 ['-0.230378', '0.714847', '-0.630881', '-0.027984', '0.187035', '0.030841', '-0.032883', '-0.010597'] Here they are on a graph: I'm using it to obtain the approximation (lower subband of an image). This is a(m,n) in the following diagram: I got the coefficients and diagram from the book Digital Image Processing, 3rd Edition, so I trust that they are correct. The star symbol denotes one dimensional convolution (either over rows or over columns). The down arrow denotes downsampling in one dimension (either over rows, or columns). My problem is that the filter coefficients for h0 and h1 sum to greater than 1 (approximately 1.4 or sqrt(2) to be exact). Naturally, if I convolve any image with the filter, the image will get brighter. Indeed, here's what I get (expected result on right): Can somebody suggest what the problem is here? Why should it work if the convolution filter coefficients sum to greater than 1? I have the source code, but it's quite long so I'm hoping to avoid posting it here. If it's absolutely necessary, I'll put it up later. EDIT What I'm doing is: Decompose into subbands Filter one of the subbands Recompose subbands into original image Note that the point isn't just to have a displayable subband-decomposed image -- I have to be able to perfectly reconstruct the original image from the subbands as well. So if I scale the filtered image in order to compensate for my decomposition filter making the image brighter, this is what I will have to do: Decompose into subbands Apply intensity scaling Filter one of the subbands Apply inverse intensity scaling Recompose subbands into original image Step 2 performs the scaling. This is what @Benjamin is suggesting. The problem is that then step 4 becomes necessary, or the original image will not be properly reconstructed. This longer method will work. However, the textbook explicitly says that no scaling is performed on the approximation subband. Of course, it's possible that the textbook is wrong. However, what's more possible is I'm misunderstanding something about the way this all works -- this is why I'm asking this question.

  • Closing idle connections with iptables.

  • Creating Class Properties in Visual Studio

    - by pm_2
Using the standard VS IDE, is there a fast way to create class properties that are linked to the local variables? The class diagram seems to provide something, but it basically just created a property stub. Is there something better / easier out there ?

  • VPN/IPsec for RD, port 80,

    - by Andrew
I have two Windows VPS's that talk to each other. 1) I already firewall Remote Desktop to a few IPs. I want to require me to connect instead to the server via VPN (IPSec?) in order to then be able to RD. 2) I want to also only permit access to port 80 on the server if I am VPN'd in to the server (authenticated) 3) If possible, I want to secure communication between other VPS's I have using the same method? Thanks

  • UML aggregation. Is necessary to put an atributte.

    - by VansFannel
Hello. I'm making an UML class diagram and I don't know how to do this: I have a content that has a file. Both, content and file, are represented as classes. I've put an aggregation between content and file. But I don't know if is necessary to put an atribute inside content to represent file. Is necessary? Thank you.

  • Is this grammar SLR?

    - by Mike
E - A | B A - a | c B - b | c My answer is no because it has a reduce/reduce conflict, can anyone else verify this? Also I gained my answer through constructing the transition diagram, is there a simpler way of finding this out? Thanks for the help! P.S Would a Recursive Descent be able to parse this?

  • remote desktop computer viewer?

    - by Josh
I would like to install a quad core computer in my dorm at college and use my much slower laptop to be able to control the quad core just as if I had a quad core laptop (control as in i see the gui, not command line control)! Both are on the same college network, though Im also interested in what would be necessary if the computers were on different networks. What would be the best method fot this? Im looking for non-lag communication.

  • UML enumeration as a return type

    - by Ryan Fernandes
<< enumeration>> E1 | .RED .GREEN .BLUE | I have the above as an enumeration class in a UML diagram. I associate it with another class say House. I now need a method on House say +getColor() which returns a color from the above enumeration. How would I depict this in UML? would it be like : +getColor(): E1 ?

  • OS X: How to force traffic through a specific SOCKS proxy on a per-app basis?

    - by GJ.
I'm running a certain desktop app (actually via AIR if it makes any difference) which doesn't have any built-in proxy configuration settings. I need to get all traffic just from this app directed through a secure SOCKS proxy. This implies I can't use the global network preferences, as these would affect many other apps. Is there any way to force all network communication through a given SOCKS proxy on a per-app basis?
