  • Best way to save to nsuserdefaults for custom class?

    - by cannyboy
    If I have a custom class Person which has three variables (which are propertized and synthesized): NSString* theName; float* theHeight; int theAge; Person instances are stored in an NSArray 'Group'. There is only one Group. What is the best way of string and loading the Group in NSUserDefaults? (bearing in mind that float and int are not legal for NSUserDefaults)

  • glReadPixels() returning non-accurate value

    - by max
    I'm trying to implement the flood fill algorithm. But glReadPixels() is returning float RGB values of a pixel which are slightly different from the actual value set by me, causing the algorithm to fail. Why is this happening? Outputting returned RGB values to check. #include<iostream> #include<GL/glut.h> using namespace std; float boundaryColor[3]={0,0,0}, interiorColor[3]={0,0,0.5}, fillColor[3]={1,0,0}; float readPixel[3]; void init(void) { glClearColor(0,0,0.5,0); glMatrixMode(GL_PROJECTION); gluOrtho2D(0,500,0,500); } void setPixel(int x,int y) { glColor3fv(fillColor); glBegin(GL_POINTS); glVertex2f(x,y); glEnd(); } void getPixel(int x, int y, float *color) { glReadPixels(x,y,1,1,GL_RGB,GL_FLOAT,color); } void floodFill(int x,int y) { getPixel(x,y,readPixel); //outputting values here to check cout<<readPixel[0]<<endl; cout<<readPixel[1]<<endl; cout<<readPixel[2]<<endl; if( readPixel[0]==interiorColor[0] && readPixel[1]==interiorColor[1] && readPixel[2]==interiorColor[2] ) { setPixel(x,y); floodFill(x+1,y); floodFill(x,y+1); floodFill(x-1,y); floodFill(x,y-1); } } void display() { glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT); glColor3fv(boundaryColor); glLineWidth(3); glBegin(GL_LINE_STRIP); glVertex2i(150,150); glVertex2i(150,350); glVertex2i(350,350); glVertex2i(350,150); glVertex2i(150,150); glEnd(); floodFill(200,200); glFlush(); } int main(int argc,char** argv) { glutInit(&argc,argv); glutInitDisplayMode(GLUT_SINGLE | GLUT_RGB); glutInitWindowPosition(100,100); glutInitWindowSize(500,500); glutCreateWindow("Flood fill"); init(); glutDisplayFunc(display); glutMainLoop(); }

  • Parameter pack argument consumption

    - by yuri kilochek
    It is possible to get the first element of the parameter pack like this template <typename... Elements> struct type_list { }; template <typename TypeList> struct type_list_first_element { }; template <typename FirstElement, typename... OtherElements> struct type_list_first_element<type_list<FirstElement, OtherElements...>> { typedef FirstElement type; }; int main() { typedef type_list<int, float, char> list; typedef type_list_first_element<list>::type element; return 0; } but not possible to similary get the last element like this template <typename... Elements> struct type_list { }; template <typename TypeList> struct type_list_last_element { }; template <typename LastElement, typename... OtherElements> struct type_list_last_element<type_list<OtherElements..., LastElement>> { typedef LastElement type; }; int main() { typedef type_list<int, float, char> list; typedef type_list_last_element<list>::type element; return 0; } with gcc 4.7.1 complaining: error: 'type' in 'struct type_list_last_element<type_list<int, float, char>>' does not name a type What paragraps from the standard describe this behaviour? It seems to me that template parameter packs are greedy in a sense that they consume all matching arguments, which in this case means that OtherElements consumes all three arguments (int, float and char) and then there is nothing left for LastElement so the compilation fails. Am i correct in the assumption? EDIT: To clarify: I am not asking how to extract the last element from the parameter pack, i know how to do that. What i actually want is to pick the pack apart from the back as opposed to the front, and as such recursing all the way to the back for each element would be ineffective. Apparentely reversing the sequence beforehand is the most sensible choice.

  • Mobile Friendly Websites with CSS Media Queries

    - by dwahlin
    In a previous post the concept of CSS media queries was introduced and I discussed the fundamentals of how they can be used to target different screen sizes. I showed how they could be used to convert a 3-column wide page into a more vertical view of data that displays better on devices such as an iPhone:     In this post I'll provide an additional look at how CSS media queries can be used to mobile-enable a sample site called "Widget Masters" without having to change any server-side code or HTML code. The site that will be discussed is shown next:     This site has some of the standard items shown in most websites today including a title area, menu bar, and sections where data is displayed. Without including CSS media queries the site is readable but has to be zoomed out to see everything on a mobile device, cuts-off some of the menu items, and requires horizontal scrolling to get to additional content. The following image shows what the site looks like on an iPhone. While the site works on mobile devices it's definitely not optimized for mobile.     Let's take a look at how CSS media queries can be used to override existing styles in the site based on different screen widths. Adding CSS Media Queries into a Site The Widget Masters Website relies on standard CSS combined with HTML5 elements to provide the layout shown earlier. For example, to layout the menu bar shown at the top of the page the nav element is used as shown next. A standard div element could certainly be used as well if desired.   <nav> <ul class="clearfix"> <li><a href="#home">Home</a></li> <li><a href="#products">Products</a></li> <li><a href="#aboutus">About Us</a></li> <li><a href="#contactus">Contact Us</a></li> <li><a href="#store">Store</a></li> </ul> </nav>   This HTML is combined with the CSS shown next to add a CSS3 gradient, handle the horizontal orientation, and add some general hover effects.   nav { width: 100%; } nav ul { border-radius: 6px; height: 40px; width: 100%; margin: 0; padding: 0; background: rgb(125,126,125); /* Old browsers */ background: -moz-linear-gradient(top, rgba(125,126,125,1) 0%, rgba(14,14,14,1) 100%); /* FF3.6+ */ background: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, color-stop(0%,rgba(125,126,125,1)), color-stop(100%,rgba(14,14,14,1))); /* Chrome,Safari4+ */ background: -webkit-linear-gradient(top, rgba(125,126,125,1) 0%, rgba(14,14,14,1) 100%); /* Chrome10+,Safari5.1+ */ background: -o-linear-gradient(top, rgba(125,126,125,1) 0%, rgba(14,14,14,1) 100%); /* Opera 11.10+ */ background: -ms-linear-gradient(top, rgba(125,126,125,1) 0%, rgba(14,14,14,1) 100%); /* IE10+ */ background: linear-gradient(top, rgba(125,126,125,1) 0%, rgba(14,14,14,1) 100%); /* W3C */ filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient( startColorstr='#7d7e7d', endColorstr='#0e0e0e',GradientType=0 ); /* IE6-9 */ } nav ul > li { list-style: none; float: left; margin: 0; padding: 0; } nav ul > li:first-child { margin-left: 8px; } nav ul > li > a { color: #ccc; text-decoration: none; line-height: 2.8em; font-size: 0.95em; font-weight: bold; padding: 8px 25px 7px 25px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; } nav ul > li a:hover { background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1); color: #fff; }   When mobile devices hit the site the layout of the menu items needs to be adjusted so that they're all visible without having to swipe left or right to get to them. This type of modification can be accomplished using CSS media queries by targeting specific screen sizes. To start, a media query can be added into the site's CSS file as shown next: @media screen and (max-width:320px) { /* CSS style overrides for this screen width go here */ } This media query targets screens that have a maximum width of 320 pixels. Additional types of queries can also be added – refer to my previous post for more details as well as resources that can be used to test media queries in different devices. In that post I emphasize (and I'll emphasize again) that CSS media queries only modify the overall layout and look and feel of a site. They don't optimize the site as far as the size of the images or content sent to the device which is important to keep in mind. To make the navigation menu more accessible on devices such as an iPhone or Android the CSS shown next can be used. This code changes the height of the menu from 40 pixels to 100%, takes off the li element floats, changes the line-height, and changes the margins.   @media screen and (max-width:320px) { nav ul { height: 100%; } nav ul > li { float: none; } nav ul > li a { line-height: 1.5em; } nav ul > li:first-child { margin-left: 0px; } /* Additional CSS overrides go here */ }   The following image shows an example of what the menu look like when run on a device with a width of 320 pixels:   Mobile devices with a maximum width of 480 pixels need different CSS styles applied since they have 160 additional pixels of width. This can be done by adding a new CSS media query into the stylesheet as shown next. Looking through the CSS you'll see that only a minimal override is added to adjust the padding of anchor tags since the menu fits by default in this screen width.   @media screen and (max-width: 480px) { nav ul > li > a { padding: 8px 10px 7px 10px; } }   Running the site on a device with 480 pixels results in the menu shown next being rendered. Notice that the space between the menu items is much smaller compared to what was shown when the main site loads in a standard browser.     In addition to modifying the menu, the 3 horizontal content sections shown earlier can be changed from a horizontal layout to a vertical layout so that they look good on a variety of smaller mobile devices and are easier to navigate by end users. The HTML5 article and section elements are used as containers for the 3 sections in the site as shown next:   <article class="clearfix"> <section id="info"> <header>Why Choose Us?</header> <br /> <img id="mainImage" src="Images/ArticleImage.png" title="Article Image" /> <p> Post emensos insuperabilis expeditionis eventus languentibus partium animis, quas periculorum varietas fregerat et laborum, nondum tubarum cessante clangore vel milite locato per stationes hibernas. </p> </section> <section id="products"> <header>Products</header> <br /> <img id="gearsImage" src="Images/Gears.png" title="Article Image" /> <p> <ul> <li>Widget 1</li> <li>Widget 2</li> <li>Widget 3</li> <li>Widget 4</li> <li>Widget 5</li> </ul> </p> </section> <section id="FAQ"> <header>FAQ</header> <br /> <img id="faqImage" src="Images/faq.png" title="Article Image" /> <p> <ul> <li>FAQ 1</li> <li>FAQ 2</li> <li>FAQ 3</li> <li>FAQ 4</li> <li>FAQ 5</li> </ul> </p> </section> </article>   To force the sections into a vertical layout for smaller mobile devices the CSS styles shown next can be added into the media queries targeting 320 pixel and 480 pixel widths. Styles to target the display size of the images in each section are also included. It's important to note that the original image is still being downloaded from the server and isn't being optimized in any way for the mobile device. It's certainly possible for the CSS to include URL information for a mobile-optimized image if desired. @media screen and (max-width:320px) { section { float: none; width: 97%; margin: 0px; padding: 5px; } #wrapper { padding: 5px; width: 96%; } #mainImage, #gearsImage, #faqImage { width: 100%; height: 100px; } } @media screen and (max-width: 480px) { section { float: none; width: 98%; margin: 0px 0px 10px 0px; padding: 5px; } article > section:last-child { margin-right: 0px; float: none; } #bottomSection { width: 99%; } #wrapper { padding: 5px; width: 96%; } #mainImage, #gearsImage, #faqImage { width: 100%; height: 100px; } }   The following images show the site rendered on an iPhone with the CSS media queries in place. Each of the sections now displays vertically making it much easier for the user to access them. Images inside of each section also scale appropriately to fit properly.     CSS media queries provide a great way to override default styles in a website and target devices with different resolutions. In this post you've seen how CSS media queries can be used to convert a standard browser-based site into a site that is more accessible to mobile users. Although much more can be done to optimize sites for mobile, CSS media queries provide a nice starting point if you don't have the time or resources to create mobile-specific versions of sites.

  • HTML5 CSS3 layout not working

    - by John.Weland
    I have been asked by a local MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) School to help them develop a website. For the life of me I CANNOT get the layout to work correctly. When I get one section set where it should be another moves out of place! here is a pic of the layout: here The header should be a set height as should the footer the entire site at its widest point should be 1250px with the header/content area/footer and the like being 1240px the black in the picture is a scaling background to expand wider as larger resolution systems are viewing them. The full site should be a minimum-height of 100% but scale virtually as content in the target area deems necessary. My biggest issue currently is that my "sticky" footer doesn't stick once the content has stretched the content target area virtually. the Code is not pretty but here it is: HTML5 <!doctype html> <html> <head> <link rel="stylesheet" href="menu.css" type="text/css" media="screen"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="master.css" type="text/css" media="screen"> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Untitled Document</title> </head> <body bottommargin="0" leftmargin="0" rightmargin="0" topmargin="0"> <div id="wrap" class="wrap"><div id="logo" class="logo"><img src="images/comalogo.png" width="100" height="150"></div> <div id="header" class="header">College of Martial Arts</div> <div id="nav" class="nav"> <ul id="menu"><b> <li><a href="#">News</a></li> <li>·</li> <li><a href="#">About Us</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">The Instructors</a></li> <li><a href="#">Our Arts</a></li> </li> </ul> <li>·</li> <li><a href="#">Location</a></li> <li>·</li> <li><a href="#">Gallery</a></li> <li>·</li> <li><a href="#">MMA.tv</a></li> <li>·</li> <li><a href="#">Schedule</a></li> <li>·</li> <li><a href="#">Fight Gear</a></li></b> </div> <div id="social" class="social"> <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Canyon-Lake-College-of-Martial-Arts/189432551104674"><img src="images/soc/facebook.png"></a> <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/CanyonLakeMMA"><img src="images/soc/twitter.png"></a> <a href="https://plus.google.com/108252414577423199314/"><img src="images/soc/google+.png"></a> <a href="http://youtube.com/user/clmmatv"><img src="images/soc/youtube.png"></a></div> <div id="mid" class="mid">test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br>test <br></div> <div id="footer" class="footer"> <div id="contact" style="left:0px;">tel: (830) 214-4591<br /> e: [email protected]<br /> add: 1273 FM 2673, Sattler, TX 78133<br /> </div> <div id="affiliates" style="right:0px;">Hwa Rang World Tang soo Do</div> <div id="copyright">Copyright © College of Martial Arts</div> </div> </body> </html> CSS3 -Dropdown Menu- @charset "utf-8";   • Draw a Custom cell for tableview ( uitableview ) , with changed colors and separator color and width

    - by Madhup
    Hi, I want to draw the background of a UITableViewCell which has a grouped style. The problem with me is I am not able to call the -(void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect or I think it should be called programmatically... I am doing it like this. CustomCellBackgroundView *custView = [[CustomCellBackgroundView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,0,320,44)]; [cell setBackgroundView:custView]; [custView release]; and doing this gives me transparent cell. I tried and fought with code but could get any results. Please help me out. I am really having no idea how this code will run.

  • Segfault when iterating over a map<string, string> and drawing its contents using SDL_TTF

    - by Michael Stahre
    I'm not entirely sure this question belongs on gamedev.stackexchange, but I'm technically working on a game and working with SDL, so it might not be entirely offtopic. I've written a class called DebugText. The point of the class is to have a nice way of printing values of variables to the game screen. The idea is to call SetDebugText() with the variables in question every time they change or, as is currently the case, every time the game's Update() is called. The issue is that when iterating over the map that contains my variables and their latest updated values, I get segfaults. See the comments in DrawDebugText() below, it specifies where the error happens. I've tried splitting the calls to it-first and it-second into separate lines and found that the problem doesn't always happen when calling it-first. It alters between it-first and it-second. I can't find a pattern. It doesn't fail on every call to DrawDebugText() either. It might fail on the third time DrawDebugText() is called, or it might fail on the fourth. Class header: #ifndef CLIENT_DEBUGTEXT_H #define CLIENT_DEBUGTEXT_H #include <Map> #include <Math.h> #include <sstream> #include <SDL.h> #include <SDL_ttf.h> #include "vector2.h" using std::string; using std::stringstream; using std::map; using std::pair; using game::Vector2; namespace game { class DebugText { private: TTF_Font* debug_text_font; map<string, string>* debug_text_list; public: void SetDebugText(string var, bool value); void SetDebugText(string var, float value); void SetDebugText(string var, int value); void SetDebugText(string var, Vector2 value); void SetDebugText(string var, string value); int DrawDebugText(SDL_Surface*, SDL_Rect*); void InitDebugText(); void Clear(); }; } #endif Class source file: #include "debugtext.h" namespace game { // Copypasta function for handling the toString conversion template <class T> inline string to_string (const T& t) { stringstream ss (stringstream::in | stringstream::out); ss << t; return ss.str(); } // Initializes SDL_TTF and sets its font void DebugText::InitDebugText() { if(TTF_WasInit()) TTF_Quit(); TTF_Init(); debug_text_font = TTF_OpenFont("LiberationSans-Regular.ttf", 16); TTF_SetFontStyle(debug_text_font, TTF_STYLE_NORMAL); } // Iterates over the current debug_text_list and draws every element on the screen. // After drawing with SDL you need to get a rect specifying the area on the screen that was changed and tell SDL that this part of the screen needs to be updated. this is done in the game's Draw() function // This function sets rects_to_update to the new list of rects provided by all of the surfaces and returns the number of rects in the list. These two parameters are used in Draw() when calling on SDL_UpdateRects(), which takes an SDL_Rect* and a list length int DebugText::DrawDebugText(SDL_Surface* screen, SDL_Rect* rects_to_update) { if(debug_text_list == NULL) return 0; if(!TTF_WasInit()) InitDebugText(); rects_to_update = NULL; // Specifying the font color SDL_Color font_color = {0xff, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00}; // r, g, b, unused int row_count = 0; string line; // The iterator variable map<string, string>::iterator it; // Gets the iterator and iterates over it for(it = debug_text_list->begin(); it != debug_text_list->end(); it++) { // Takes the first value (the name of the variable) and the second value (the value of the parameter in string form) //---------THIS LINE GIVES ME SEGFAULTS----- line = it->first + ": " + it->second; //------------------------------------------ // Creates a surface with the text on it that in turn can be rendered to the screen itself later SDL_Surface* debug_surface = TTF_RenderText_Solid(debug_text_font, line.c_str(), font_color); if(debug_surface == NULL) { // A standard check for errors fprintf(stderr, "Error: %s", TTF_GetError()); return NULL; } else { // If SDL_TTF did its job right, then we now set a destination rect row_count++; SDL_Rect dstrect = {5, 5, 0, 0}; // x, y, w, h dstrect.x = 20; dstrect.y = 20*row_count; // Draws the surface with the text on it to the screen int res = SDL_BlitSurface(debug_surface,NULL,screen,&dstrect); if(res != 0) { //Just an error check fprintf(stderr, "Error: %s", SDL_GetError()); return NULL; } // Creates a new rect to specify the area that needs to be updated with SDL_Rect* new_rect_to_update = (SDL_Rect*) malloc(sizeof(SDL_Rect)); new_rect_to_update->h = debug_surface->h; new_rect_to_update->w = debug_surface->w; new_rect_to_update->x = dstrect.x; new_rect_to_update->y = dstrect.y; // Just freeing the surface since it isn't necessary anymore SDL_FreeSurface(debug_surface); // Creates a new list of rects with room for the new rect SDL_Rect* newtemp = (SDL_Rect*) malloc(row_count*sizeof(SDL_Rect)); // Copies the data from the old list of rects to the new one memcpy(newtemp, rects_to_update, (row_count-1)*sizeof(SDL_Rect)); // Adds the new rect to the new list newtemp[row_count-1] = *new_rect_to_update; // Frees the memory used by the old list free(rects_to_update); // And finally redirects the pointer to the old list to the new list rects_to_update = newtemp; newtemp = NULL; } } // When the entire map has been iterated over, return the number of lines that were drawn, ie. the number of rects in the returned rect list return row_count; } // The SetDebugText used by all the SetDebugText overloads // Takes two strings, inserts them into the map as a pair void DebugText::SetDebugText(string var, string value) { if (debug_text_list == NULL) { debug_text_list = new map<string, string>(); } debug_text_list->erase(var); debug_text_list->insert(pair<string, string>(var, value)); } // Writes the bool to a string and calls SetDebugText(string, string) void DebugText::SetDebugText(string var, bool value) { string result; if (value) result = "True"; else result = "False"; SetDebugText(var, result); } // Does the same thing, but uses to_string() to convert the float void DebugText::SetDebugText(string var, float value) { SetDebugText(var, to_string(value)); } // Same as above, but int void DebugText::SetDebugText(string var, int value) { SetDebugText(var, to_string(value)); } // Vector2 is a struct of my own making. • OpenGL basics: calling glDrawElements once per object

    - by Bethor
    Hi all, continuing on from my explorations of the basics of OpenGL (see this question), I'm trying to figure out the basic principles of drawing a scene with OpenGL. I am trying to render a simple cube repeated n times in every direction. My method appears to yield terrible performance : 1000 cubes brings performance below 50fps (on a QuadroFX 1800, roughly a GeForce 9600GT). My method for drawing these cubes is as follows: done once: set up a vertex buffer and array buffer containing my cube vertices in model space set up an array buffer indexing the cube for drawing as 12 triangles done for each frame: update uniform values used by the vertex shader to move all cubes at once done for each cube, for each frame: update uniform values used by the vertex shader to move each cube to its position call glDrawElements to draw the positioned cube Is this a sane method ? If not, how does one go about something like this ? I'm guessing I need to minimize calls to glUniform, glDrawElements, or both, but I'm not sure how to do that. Full code for my little test : (depends on gletools and pyglet) I'm aware that my init code (at least) is really ugly; I'm concerned with the rendering code for each frame right now, I'll move to something a little less insane for the creation of the vertex buffers and such later on. import pyglet from pyglet.gl import * from pyglet.window import key from numpy import deg2rad, tan from gletools import ShaderProgram, FragmentShader, VertexShader, GeometryShader vertexData = [-0.5, -0.5, -0.5, 1.0, -0.5, 0.5, -0.5, 1.0, 0.5, -0.5, -0.5, 1.0, 0.5, 0.5, -0.5, 1.0, -0.5, -0.5, 0.5, 1.0, -0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 1.0, 0.5, -0.5, 0.5, 1.0, 0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 1.0] elementArray = [2, 1, 0, 1, 2, 3,## back face 4, 7, 6, 4, 5, 7,## front face 1, 3, 5, 3, 7, 5,## top face 2, 0, 4, 2, 4, 6,## bottom face 1, 5, 4, 0, 1, 4,## left face 6, 7, 3, 6, 3, 2]## right face def toGLArray(input): return (GLfloat*len(input))(*input) def toGLushortArray(input): return (GLushort*len(input))(*input) def initPerspectiveMatrix(aspectRatio = 1.0, fov = 45): frustumScale = 1.0 / tan(deg2rad(fov) / 2.0) fzNear = 0.5 fzFar = 300.0 perspectiveMatrix = [frustumScale*aspectRatio, 0.0 , 0.0 , 0.0 , 0.0 , frustumScale, 0.0 , 0.0 , 0.0 , 0.0 , (fzFar+fzNear)/(fzNear-fzFar) , -1.0, 0.0 , 0.0 , (2*fzFar*fzNear)/(fzNear-fzFar), 0.0 ] return perspectiveMatrix class ModelObject(object): vbo = GLuint() vao = GLuint() eao = GLuint() initDone = False verticesPool = [] indexPool = [] def __init__(self, vertices, indexing): super(ModelObject, self).__init__() if not ModelObject.initDone: glGenVertexArrays(1, ModelObject.vao) glGenBuffers(1, ModelObject.vbo) glGenBuffers(1, ModelObject.eao) glBindVertexArray(ModelObject.vao) initDone = True self.numIndices = len(indexing) self.offsetIntoVerticesPool = len(ModelObject.verticesPool) ModelObject.verticesPool.extend(vertices) self.offsetIntoElementArray = len(ModelObject.indexPool) ModelObject.indexPool.extend(indexing) glBindBuffer(GL_ARRAY_BUFFER, ModelObject.vbo) glEnableVertexAttribArray(0) #position glVertexAttribPointer(0, 4, GL_FLOAT, GL_FALSE, 0, 0) glBindBuffer(GL_ELEMENT_ARRAY_BUFFER, ModelObject.eao) glBufferData(GL_ARRAY_BUFFER, len(ModelObject.verticesPool)*4, toGLArray(ModelObject.verticesPool), GL_STREAM_DRAW) glBufferData(GL_ELEMENT_ARRAY_BUFFER, len(ModelObject.indexPool)*2, toGLushortArray(ModelObject.indexPool), GL_STREAM_DRAW) def draw(self): glDrawElements(GL_TRIANGLES, self.numIndices, GL_UNSIGNED_SHORT, self.offsetIntoElementArray) class PositionedObject(object): def __init__(self, mesh, pos, objOffsetUf): super(PositionedObject, self).__init__() self.mesh = mesh self.pos = pos self.objOffsetUf = objOffsetUf def draw(self): glUniform3f(self.objOffsetUf, self.pos[0], self.pos[1], self.pos[2]) self.mesh.draw() w = 800 h = 600 AR = float(h)/float(w) window = pyglet.window.Window(width=w, height=h, vsync=False) window.set_exclusive_mouse(True) pyglet.clock.set_fps_limit(None) ## input forward = [False] left = [False] back = [False] right = [False] up = [False] down = [False] inputs = {key.Z: forward, key.Q: left, key.S: back, key.D: right, key.UP: forward, key.LEFT: left, key.DOWN: back, key.RIGHT: right, key.PAGEUP: up, key.PAGEDOWN: down} ## camera camX = 0.0 camY = 0.0 camZ = -1.0 def simulate(delta): global camZ, camX, camY scale = 10.0 move = scale*delta if forward[0]: camZ += move if back[0]: camZ += -move if left[0]: camX += move if right[0]: camX += -move if up[0]: camY += move if down[0]: camY += -move pyglet.clock.schedule(simulate) @window.event def on_key_press(symbol, modifiers): global forward, back, left, right, up, down if symbol in inputs.keys(): inputs[symbol][0] = True @window.event def on_key_release(symbol, modifiers): global forward, back, left, right, up, down if symbol in inputs.keys(): inputs[symbol][0] = False ## uniforms for shaders camOffsetUf = GLuint() objOffsetUf = GLuint() perspectiveMatrixUf = GLuint() camRotationUf = GLuint() program = ShaderProgram( VertexShader(''' #version 330 layout(location = 0) in vec4 objCoord;   • SQL SERVER – Weekly Series – Memory Lane – #048

    - by Pinal Dave
    Here is the list of selected articles of SQLAuthority.com across all these years. Instead of just listing all the articles I have selected a few of my most favorite articles and have listed them here with additional notes below it. Let me know which one of the following is your favorite article from memory lane. 2007 Order of Result Set of SELECT Statement on Clustered Indexed Table When ORDER BY is Not Used Above theory is true in most of the cases. However SQL Server does not use that logic when returning the resultset. SQL Server always returns the resultset which it can return fastest.In most of the cases the resultset which can be returned fastest is the resultset which is returned using clustered index. Effect of TRANSACTION on Local Variable – After ROLLBACK and After COMMIT One of the Jr. Developer asked me this question (What will be the Effect of TRANSACTION on Local Variable – After ROLLBACK and After COMMIT?) while I was rushing to an important meeting. I was getting late so I asked him to talk with his Application Tech Lead. When I came back from meeting both of them were looking for me. They said they are confused. I quickly wrote down following example for them. 2008 SQL SERVER – Guidelines and Coding Standards Complete List Download Coding standards and guidelines are very important for any developer on the path of a successful career. A coding standard is a set of guidelines, rules and regulations on how to write code. Coding standards should be flexible enough or should take care of the situation where they should not prevent best practices for coding. They are basically the guidelines that one should follow for better understanding. Download Guidelines and Coding Standards complete List Download Get Answer in Float When Dividing of Two Integer Many times we have requirements of some calculations amongst different fields in Tables. One of the software developers here was trying to calculate some fields having integer values and divide it which gave incorrect results in integer where accurate results including decimals was expected. Puzzle – Computed Columns Datatype Explanation SQL Server automatically does a cast to the data type having the highest precedence. So the result of INT and INT will be INT, but INT and FLOAT will be FLOAT because FLOAT has a higher precedence. If you want a different data type, you need to do an EXPLICIT cast. Renaming SP is Not Good Idea – Renaming Stored Procedure Does Not Update sys.procedures I have written many articles about renaming a tables, columns and procedures SQL SERVER – How to Rename a Column Name or Table Name, here I found something interesting about renaming the stored procedures and felt like sharing it with you all. The interesting fact is that when we rename a stored procedure using SP_Rename command, the Stored Procedure is successfully renamed. But when we try to test the procedure using sp_helptext, the procedure will be having the old name instead of new names. 2009 Insert Values of Stored Procedure in Table – Use Table Valued Function It is clear from the result set that , where I have converted stored procedure logic into the table valued function, is much better in terms of logic as it saves a large number of operations. However, this option should be used carefully. The performance of the stored procedure is “usually” better than that of functions. Interesting Observation – Index on Index View Used in Similar Query Recently, I was working on an optimization project for one of the largest organizations. While working on one of the queries, we came across a very interesting observation. We found that there was a query on the base table and when the query was run, it used the index, which did not exist in the base table. On careful examination, we found that the query was using the index that was on another view. This was very interesting as I have personally never experienced a scenario like this. In simple words, “Query on the base table can use the index created on the indexed view of the same base table.” Interesting Observation – Execution Plan and Results of Aggregate Concatenation Queries Working with SQL Server has never seemed to be monotonous – no matter how long one has worked with it. Quite often, I come across some excellent comments that I feel like acknowledging them as blog posts. Recently, I wrote an article on SQL SERVER – Execution Plan and Results of Aggregate Concatenation Queries Depend Upon Expression Location, which is well received in the community. 2010 I encourage all of you to go through complete series and write your own on the subject. If you write an article and send it to me, I will publish it on this blog with due credit to you. If you write on your own blog, I will update this blog post pointing to your blog post. SQL SERVER – ORDER BY Does Not Work – Limitation of the View 1 SQL SERVER – Adding Column is Expensive by Joining Table Outside View – Limitation of the View 2 SQL SERVER – Index Created on View not Used Often – Limitation of the View 3 SQL SERVER – SELECT * and Adding Column Issue in View – Limitation of the View 4 SQL SERVER – COUNT(*) Not Allowed but COUNT_BIG(*) Allowed – Limitation of the View 5 SQL SERVER – UNION Not Allowed but OR Allowed in Index View – Limitation of the View 6 SQL SERVER – Cross Database Queries Not Allowed in Indexed View – Limitation of the View 7 SQL SERVER – Outer Join Not Allowed in Indexed Views – Limitation of the View 8 SQL SERVER – SELF JOIN Not Allowed in Indexed View – Limitation of the View 9 SQL SERVER – Keywords View Definition Must Not Contain for Indexed View – Limitation of the View 10 SQL SERVER – View Over the View Not Possible with Index View – Limitations of the View 11 2011 Startup Parameters Easy to Configure If you are a regular reader of this blog, you must be aware that I have written about SQL Server Denali recently. Here is the quickest way to reach into the screen where we can change the startup parameters. Go to SQL Server Configuration Manager >> SQL Server Services >> Right Click on the Server >> Properties >> Startup Parameters 2012 Validating Unique Columnname Across Whole Database I sometimes come across very strange requirements and often I do not receive a proper explanation of the same. • How to add a new item in a sharepoint list using web services in C sharp

    - by Frank
    Hi, I'm trying to add a new item to a sharepoint list from a winform application in c# using web services. As only result, I'm getting the useless exception "Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown." I have a web reference named WebSrvRef to http://server/site/subsite/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx And this code: XmlDocument xmlDoc; XmlElement elBatch; XmlNode ndReturn; string[] sValues; string sListGUID; string sViewGUID; if (lstResults.Items.Count < 1) { MessageBox.Show("Unable to Add To SharePoint\n" + "No test file processed. The list is blank.", "Add To SharePoint", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Exclamation); return; } WebSrvRef.Lists listService = new WebSrvRef.Lists(); sViewGUID = "{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}"; // Test List View GUID sListGUID = "{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}"; // Test List GUID listService.Credentials= System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials; frmAddToSharePoint dlgAddSharePoint = new frmAddToSharePoint(); if (dlgAddSharePoint.ShowDialog() == DialogResult.Cancel) { dlgAddSharePoint.Dispose(); listService.Dispose(); return; } sValues = dlgAddSharePoint.Tag.ToString().Split('~'); dlgAddSharePoint.Dispose(); string strBatch = "<Method ID='1' Cmd='New'>" + "<Field Name='Client#'>" + sValues[0] + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Company'>" + sValues[1] + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Contact Name'>" + sValues[2] + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Phone Number'>" + sValues[3] + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Brand'>" + sValues[4] + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Model'>" + sValues[5] + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='DPI'>" + sValues[6] + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Color'>" + sValues[7] + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Compression'>" + sValues[8] + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Value % 1'>" + (((float)lstResults.Groups["Value 1"].Tag)*100).ToString("##0.00") + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Value % 2'>" + (((float)lstResults.Groups["Value 2"].Tag)*100).ToString("##0.00") + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Value % 3'>" + (((float)lstResults.Groups["Value 3"].Tag)*100).ToString("##0.00") + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Value % 4'>" + (((float)lstResults.Groups["Value 4"].Tag)*100).ToString("##0.00") + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Value % 5'>" + (((float)lstResults.Groups["Value 5"].Tag)*100).ToString("##0.00") + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Comments'></Field>" + "<Field Name='Overall'>" + (fTotalScore*100).ToString("##0.00") + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Average'>" + (fTotalAvg * 100).ToString("##0.00") + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Transfered'>" + sValues[9] + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Notes'>" + sValues[10] + "</Field>" + "<Field Name='Resolved'>" + sValues[11] + "</Field>" + "</Method>"; try { xmlDoc = new System.Xml.XmlDocument(); elBatch = xmlDoc.CreateElement("Batch"); elBatch.SetAttribute("OnError", "Continue"); elBatch.SetAttribute("ListVersion", "1"); elBatch.SetAttribute("ViewName", sViewGUID); strBatch = strBatch.Replace("&", "&amp;"); elBatch.InnerXml = strBatch; ndReturn = listService.UpdateListItems(sListGUID, elBatch); MessageBox.Show(ndReturn.OuterXml); listService.Dispose(); } catch(Exception Ex) { MessageBox.Show(Ex.Message + "\n\nSource\n" + Ex.Source + "\n\nTargetSite\n" + Ex.TargetSite + "\n\nStackTrace\n" + Ex.StackTrace, "Error", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Error); listService.Dispose(); } What am I doing wrong?   • Please help me correct the small bugs in this image editor

    - by Alex
    Hi, I'm working on a website that will sell hand made jewelry and I'm finishing the image editor, but it's not behaving quite right. Basically, the user uploads an image which will be saved as a source and then it will be resized to fit the user's screen and saved as a temp. The user will then go to a screen that will allow them to crop the image and then save it to it's final versions. All of that works fine, except, the final versions have 3 bugs. First is some black horizontal line on the very bottom of the image. Second is an outline of sorts that follows the edges. I thought it was because I was reducing the quality, but even at 100% it still shows up... And lastly, I've noticed that the cropped image is always a couple of pixels lower than what I'm specifying... Anyway, I'm hoping someone whose got experience in editing images with C# can maybe take a look at the code and see where I might be going off the right path. Oh, by the way, this in an ASP.NET MVC application. Here's the code: using System; using System.Drawing; using System.Drawing.Drawing2D; using System.Drawing.Imaging; using System.IO; using System.Linq; using System.Web; namespace Website.Models.Providers { public class ImageProvider { private readonly ProductProvider ProductProvider = null; • Drawing lines between views in a TableLayout

    - by RiThBo
    Firstly - sorry if you saw my other question which I deleted. My question was flawed. Here is a better version If I have two views, how do I draw a (straight) line between them when one of them is touched? The line needs to be dynamic so it can follow the finger until it reaches the second view where it "locks on". So, when view1 is touched a straight line is drawn which then follows the finger until it reaches view2. I created a LineView class that extends view, but I don't how to proceed. I read some tutorials but none show how to do this. I think I need to get the coordinates of both view, and then create a path which "updates" on MotionEvent. I can get the coordinates and the ids of the views I want to draw a line between, but the line that I try to draw between them either goes above it, or the line does not reach past the width and height of the view. Any advice/code/clarity would be much appreciated! Here is some code: My layout. I want to draw a line between two views contained in theTableLayout.# <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/activity_game_relative_layout" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:orientation="vertical" > <TableLayout android:layout_marginTop="35dp" android:layout_marginBottom="35dp" android:id="@+id/tableLayout1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_centerInParent="true" > <TableRow android:id="@+id/table_row_1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="5dip" > <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_2" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_3" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> </TableRow> <TableRow android:id="@+id/table_row_2" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="5dip" > <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_7" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_8" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.dotte.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_9" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> </TableRow> </TableLayout> </RelativeLayout> This is my LineView class. I use this to try and draw the actual line between the points. public class LineView extends View { Paint paint = new Paint(); float startingX, startingY, endingX, endingY; public LineView(Context context) { super(context); // TODO Auto-generated constructor stub paint.setColor(Color.BLACK); paint.setStrokeWidth(10); } public void setPoints(float startX, float startY, float endX, float endY) { startingX = startX; startingY = startY; endingX = endX; endingY = endY; invalidate(); } @Override public void onDraw(Canvas canvas) { canvas.drawLine(startingX, startingY, endingX, endingY, paint); } } And this is my Activity. public class Game extends Activity { DotView dv1, dv2, dv3, dv4, dv5, dv6, dv7; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_game); getWindow().getDecorView().setSystemUiVisibility( View.SYSTEM_UI_FLAG_LOW_PROFILE); findDotIds(); RelativeLayout rl = (RelativeLayout) findViewById(R.id.activity_game_relative_layout); LineView lv = new LineView(this); lv.setPoints(dv1.getLeft(), dv1.getTop(), dv7.getLeft(), dv7.getTop()); rl.addView(lv); // TODO: Get the coordinates of all the dots in the TableLayout. Use view tree observer. } private void findDotIds() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub dv1 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_1); dv2 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_2); dv3 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_3); dv4 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_4); dv5 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_5); dv6 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_6); dv7 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_7); } } The views I want to draw lines between are in the TableLayout.

  • Problem implementing Blinn–Phong shading model

    - by Joe Hopfgartner
    I did this very simple, perfectly working, implementation of Phong Relflection Model (There is no ambience implemented yet, but that doesn't bother me for now). The functions should be self explaining. /** * Implements the classic Phong illumination Model using a reflected light * vector. */ public class PhongIllumination implements IlluminationModel { @RGBParam(r = 0, g = 0, b = 0) public Vec3 ambient; @RGBParam(r = 1, g = 1, b = 1) public Vec3 diffuse; @RGBParam(r = 1, g = 1, b = 1) public Vec3 specular; @FloatParam(value = 20, min = 1, max = 200.0f) public float shininess; /* * Calculate the intensity of light reflected to the viewer . * * @param P = The surface position expressed in world coordinates. * * @param V = Normalized viewing vector from surface to eye in world * coordinates. * * @param N = Normalized normal vector at surface point in world * coordinates. * * @param surfaceColor = surfaceColor Color of the surface at the current * position. * * @param lights = The active light sources in the scene. * * @return Reflected light intensity I. */ public Vec3 shade(Vec3 P, Vec3 V, Vec3 N, Vec3 surfaceColor, Light lights[]) { Vec3 surfaceColordiffused = Vec3.mul(surfaceColor, diffuse); Vec3 totalintensity = new Vec3(0, 0, 0); for (int i = 0; i < lights.length; i++) { Vec3 L = lights[i].calcDirection(P); N = N.normalize(); V = V.normalize(); Vec3 R = Vec3.reflect(L, N); // reflection vector float diffuseLight = Vec3.dot(N, L); float specularLight = Vec3.dot(V, R); if (diffuseLight > 0) { totalintensity = Vec3.add(Vec3.mul(Vec3.mul( surfaceColordiffused, lights[i].calcIntensity(P)), diffuseLight), totalintensity); if (specularLight > 0) { Vec3 Il = lights[i].calcIntensity(P); Vec3 Ilincident = Vec3.mul(Il, Math.max(0.0f, Vec3 .dot(N, L))); Vec3 intensity = Vec3.mul(Vec3.mul(specular, Ilincident), (float) Math.pow(specularLight, shininess)); totalintensity = Vec3.add(totalintensity, intensity); } } } return totalintensity; } } Now i need to adapt it to become a Blinn-Phong illumination model I used the formulas from hearn and baker, followed pseudocodes and tried to implement it multiple times according to wikipedia articles in several languages but it never worked. I just get no specular reflections or they are so weak and/or are at the wrong place and/or have the wrong color. From the numerous wrong implementations I post some little code that already seems to be wrong. So I calculate my Half Way vector and my new specular light like so: Vec3 H = Vec3.mul(Vec3.add(L.normalize(), V), Vec3.add(L.normalize(), V).length()); float specularLight = Vec3.dot(H, N); With theese little changes it should already work (maby not with correct intensity but basically it should be correct). But the result is wrong. Here are two images. Left how it should render correctly and right how it renders. If i lower the shininess factor you can see a little specular light at the top right: Altough I understand the concept of Phong illumination and also the simplified more performant adaptaion of blinn phong I am trying around for days and just cant get it to work. Any help is appriciated. Edit: I was made aware of an error by this answer, that i am mutiplying by |L+V| instead of dividing by it when calculating H. I changed to deviding doing so: Vec3 H = Vec3.mul(Vec3.add(L.normalize(), V), 1/Vec3.add(L.normalize(), V).length()); Unfortunately this doesnt change much. The results look like this: and if I rise the specular constant and lower the shininess You can see the effects more clearly in a smilar wrong way: However this division just the normalisation. I think I am missing one step. Because the formulas like this just dont make sense to me. If you look at this picture: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Blinn-Phong_vectors.svg The projection of H to N is far less than V to R. And if you imagine changing the vector V in the picture the angle is the same when the viewing vector is "on the left side". and becomes more and more different when going to the right. I pesonally would multiply the whole projection by two to become something similiar (and the hole point is to avoid the calculation of R). Altough I didnt read anythinga bout that anywehre i am gonna try this out... Result: The intension of the specular light is far too much (white areas) and the position is still wrong. I think I am messing something else up because teh reflection are just at the wrong place. But what? Edit: Now I read on wikipedia in the notes that the angle of N/H is in fact approximalty half or V/R. To compensate that i should multiply my shineness exponent by 4 rather than my projection. If i do that I end up with this: Far to intense but still one thing. The projection is at the wrong place. Where could i mess up my vectors?

  • GLSL: Strange light reflections [Solved]

    - by Tom
    According to this tutorial I'm trying to make a normal mapping using GLSL, but something is wrong and I can't find the solution. The output render is in this image: Image1 in this image is a plane with two triangles and each of it is different illuminated (that is bad). The plane has 6 vertices. In the upper left side of this plane are 2 identical vertices (same in the lower right). Here are some vectors same for each vertice: normal vector = 0, 1, 0 (red lines on image) tangent vector = 0, 0,-1 (green lines on image) bitangent vector = -1, 0, 0 (blue lines on image) here I have one question: The two identical vertices does need to have the same tangent and bitangent? I have tried to make other values to the tangents but the effect was still similar. Here are my shaders Vertex shader: #version 130 // Input vertex data, different for all executions of this shader. in vec3 vertexPosition_modelspace; in vec2 vertexUV; in vec3 vertexNormal_modelspace; in vec3 vertexTangent_modelspace; in vec3 vertexBitangent_modelspace; // Output data ; will be interpolated for each fragment. out vec2 UV; out vec3 Position_worldspace; out vec3 EyeDirection_cameraspace; out vec3 LightDirection_cameraspace; out vec3 LightDirection_tangentspace; out vec3 EyeDirection_tangentspace; // Values that stay constant for the whole mesh. uniform mat4 MVP; uniform mat4 V; uniform mat4 M; uniform mat3 MV3x3; uniform vec3 LightPosition_worldspace; void main(){ // Output position of the vertex, in clip space : MVP * position gl_Position = MVP * vec4(vertexPosition_modelspace,1); // Position of the vertex, in worldspace : M * position Position_worldspace = (M * vec4(vertexPosition_modelspace,1)).xyz; // Vector that goes from the vertex to the camera, in camera space. // In camera space, the camera is at the origin (0,0,0). vec3 vertexPosition_cameraspace = ( V * M * vec4(vertexPosition_modelspace,1)).xyz; EyeDirection_cameraspace = vec3(0,0,0) - vertexPosition_cameraspace; // Vector that goes from the vertex to the light, in camera space. • How to replace a div container with javascript

    - by Kovu
    Hi, I must have a little design in javascript. I have a menu with 5 entrys and only 1 HTML-page. So I will have a content-div and enabled and disabled different static content in it, each menu-entry is another content. I tried with 5 divs and disable 4 of them and enable 1, but the element under each other means every div is like a - enabled or not, so the "content" is moving then. Hope its understandable. Here is the code so far: <html><head><title>Des Einsame-Katerchen's kleine Homepage</title> <style type="text/css"> a:link { font-weight:bold; color:blue; text-decoration:none; } a:visited { font-weight:bold; color:blue; text-decoration:none; } a:focus { font-weight:bold; color:blue; text-decoration:none; } a:hover { font-weight:bold; color:blue; text-decoration:line-through; } a:active { font-weight:bold; color:blue; text-decoration:none; } h1:focus { background-color:red; } h1:hover { background-color:silver; } h1:active { background-color:green; } </style> <script> function an(id) { document.getElementById('start').style.visibility = 'hidden'; document.getElementById('start').style.height = '0px'; document.getElementById('me').style.visibility = 'hidden'; document.getElementById('me').style.height = '0px'; document.getElementById('rpg').style.visibility = 'hidden'; document.getElementById('rpg').style.height = '0px'; document.getElementById('musik').style.visibility = 'hidden'; document.getElementById('musik').style.height = '0px'; document.getElementById('screens').style.visibility = 'hidden'; document.getElementById('screens').style.height = '0px'; document.getElementById(id).style.visibility = 'visible'; document.getElementById(id).style.height = '500px'; } </script> </head> <body style=" " > <div style="width=100%; text-align:center; border: 1px red solid; height:40px;"> <div style="float:left; width:100px;"><a href="#" OnClick="an('start')" >Startseite</a></div> <div style="float:left; width:100px;"><a href="#" OnClick="an('me')" >Über mich</a></div> <div style="float:left; width:100px;"><a href="#" OnClick="an('rpg')" >RPG-Chars</a></div> <div style="float:left; width:100px;"><a href="#" OnClick="an('musik')" >Musik</a></div> <div style="float:left; width:150px;"><a href="#" OnClick="an('screens')" >Knuddels-Screens</a></div> </div> <br> <div id="start" style="border:1px red solid; width:500px; height:500px; overflow: visible; " > a </div> <div id="me" style="border:1px red solid; width:500px; height:0px; overflow: visible; visibility: hidden; " > b </div> <div id="rpg" style="border:1px red solid; width:500px; height:0px; overflow: visible; visibility: hidden; " > c </div> <div id="musik" style="border:1px red solid; width:500px; height:0px; overflow: visible; visibility: hidden; " > d </div> <div id="screens" style="border:1px red solid; width:500px; height:0px; overflow: visible; visibility: hidden; " > e </div> </body>

  • How to follow object on CatmullRomSplines at constant speed (e.g. train and train carriage)?

    - by Simon
    I have a CatmullRomSpline, and using the very good example at https://github.com/libgdx/libgdx/wiki/Path-interface-%26-Splines I have my object moving at an even pace over the spline. Using a simple train and carriage example, I now want to have the carriage follow the train at the same speed as the train (not jolting along as it does with my code below). This leads into my main questions: How can I make the carriage have the same constant speed as the train and make it non jerky (it has something to do with the derivative I think, I don't understand how that part works)? Why do I need to divide by the line length to convert to metres per second, and is that correct? It wasn't done in the linked examples? I have used the example I linked to above, and modified for my specific example: private void process(CatmullRomSpline catmullRomSpline) { // Render path with precision of 1000 points renderPath(catmullRomSpline, 1000); float length = catmullRomSpline.approxLength(catmullRomSpline.spanCount * 1000); // Render the "train" Vector2 trainDerivative = new Vector2(); Vector2 trainLocation = new Vector2(); catmullRomSpline.derivativeAt(trainDerivative, current); // For some reason need to divide by length to convert from pixel speed to metres per second but I do not // really understand why I need it, it wasn't done in the examples??????? current += (Gdx.graphics.getDeltaTime() * speed / length) / trainDerivative.len(); catmullRomSpline.valueAt(trainLocation, current); renderCircleAtLocation(trainLocation); if (current >= 1) { current -= 1; } // Render the "carriage" Vector2 carriageLocation = new Vector2(); float carriagePercentageCovered = (((current * length) - 1f) / length); // I would like it to follow at 1 metre behind carriagePercentageCovered = Math.max(carriagePercentageCovered, 0); catmullRomSpline.valueAt(carriageLocation, carriagePercentageCovered); renderCircleAtLocation(carriageLocation); } private void renderPath(CatmullRomSpline catmullRomSpline, int k) { // catMulPoints would normally be cached when initialising, but for sake of example... Vector2[] catMulPoints = new Vector2[k]; for (int i = 0; i < k; ++i) { catMulPoints[i] = new Vector2(); catmullRomSpline.valueAt(catMulPoints[i], ((float) i) / ((float) k - 1)); } SHAPE_RENDERER.begin(ShapeRenderer.ShapeType.Line); SHAPE_RENDERER.setColor(Color.NAVY); for (int i = 0; i < k - 1; ++i) { SHAPE_RENDERER.line((Vector2) catMulPoints[i], (Vector2) catMulPoints[i + 1]); } SHAPE_RENDERER.end(); } private void renderCircleAtLocation(Vector2 location) { SHAPE_RENDERER.begin(ShapeRenderer.ShapeType.Filled); SHAPE_RENDERER.setColor(Color.YELLOW); SHAPE_RENDERER.circle(location.x, location.y, .5f); SHAPE_RENDERER.end(); } To create a decent sized CatmullRomSpline for testing this out: Vector2[] controlPoints = makeControlPointsArray(); CatmullRomSpline myCatmull = new CatmullRomSpline(controlPoints, false); .... private Vector2[] makeControlPointsArray() { Vector2[] pointsArray = new Vector2[78]; pointsArray[0] = new Vector2(1.681817f, 10.379999f); • Multiplying two matrices from two text files with unknown dimensions

    - by wes schwertner
    This is my first post here. I've been working on this c++ question for a while now and have gotten nowhere. Maybe you guys can give me some hints to get me started. My program has to read two .txt files each containing one matrix. Then it has to multiply them and output it to another .txt file. My confusion here though is how the .txt files are setup and how to get the dimensions. Here is an example of matrix 1.txt. #ivalue #jvalue value 1 1 1.0 2 2 1 The dimension of the matrix is 2x2. 1.0 0 0 1 Before I can start multiplying these matrices I need to get the i and j value from the text file. The only way I have found out to do this is int main() { ifstream file("a.txt"); int numcol; float col; for(int x=0; x<3;x++) { file>>col; cout<<col; if(x==1) //grabs the number of columns numcol=col; } cout<<numcol; } The problem is I don't know how to get to the second line to read the number of rows. And on top of that I don't think this will give me accurate results for other matrices files. Let me know if anything is unclear. UPDATE Thanks! I got getline to work correctly. But now I am running into another problem. In matrix B it is setup like: #ivalue #jvalue Value 1 1 0.1 1 2 0.2 2 1 0.3 2 2 0.4 I need to let the program know that it needs to go down 4 lines, maybe even more (The matrices dimensions are unknown. My matrix B example is a 2x2, but it could be a 20x20). I have a while(!file.eof()) loop my program to let it loop until the end of file. I know I need a dynamic array for multiplying, but would I need one here also? #include <iostream> #include <fstream> using namespace std; int main() { ifstream file("a.txt"); //reads matrix A while(!file.eof()) { int temp; int numcol; string numrow; float row; float col; for(int x=0; x<3;x++) { file>>col; if(x==1) { numcol=col; //number of columns } } string test; getline(file, test); //next line to get rows for(int x=0; x<3; x++) { file>>test; if(x==1) { numrow=test; //sets number of rows } } cout<<numrow; cout<<numcol<<endl; } ifstream file1("b.txt"); //reads matrix 2 while(!file1.eof()) { int temp1; int numcol1; string numrow1; float row1; float col1; for(int x=0; x<2;x++) { file1>>col1; if(x==1) numcol1=col1; //sets number of columns } string test1; getline(file1, test1); //In matrix B there are four rows. getline(file1, test1); //These getlines go down a row. getline(file1, test1); //Need help here. for(int x=0; x<2; x++) { file1>>test1; if(x==1) numrow1=test1; } cout<<numrow1; cout<<numcol1<<endl; } }

  • CSS content overflowing containing div

    - by kaese
    Hi, Currently have a problem with some DIVs overlapping their containing DIVs. See image below (the 3 products at the bottom): All the body content of the page is held within the #content DIV: div#content { width: 960px; float: left; background-image: url("../img/contentBg.png"); background-repeat: repeat; margin-top: 10px; line-height: 1.8em; border-top: 8px solid #5E88A2; padding: 10px 15px 10px 15px; } And here is the CSS for the product boxes within the #content div: .upper { text-transform: uppercase; } .center { text-align: center; } div#products { float: left; width: 100%; margin-bottom: 25px; } div.productContainer { float: left; width: 265px; font-size: 1em; margin-left: 50px; height: 200px; padding-top: 25px; text-align: right; } div.product { float: left; width: 200px; } div.product p { } div.product a { display: block; } div.product img { float: left; } div.product img:hover { opacity: 0.8; filter: alpha(opacity = 80); } div.transparent { opacity: 0.8; filter: alpha(opacity = 80); } And here is the HTML for the boxes: <div class="productContainer"> <div class="product"> <h2 class="upper center">A2 Print</h2> <a href='../edit/?productId=5&amp;align=v' class='upper'> <img src="../../wflow/tmp/133703b808c91b8ec7e7c7cdf19320b7A2-Print.png" alt="Representation of image printed at A2 Print through MyPersonalPoster." /></a> <p class="upper">16.5 inches x 23.4 inches<br /><strong>&pound;15.99</strong></p> <p class="upper smaller"><em><span><span class="yes">Yes</span> - your picture quality is high enough for this size</span> </em></p> <p><a href='../edit/?productId=5&amp;align=v' class='upper'><span>Select</span></a></p> </div> </div> <div class="productContainer"> <div class="product transparent"> <h2 class="upper center">A1 Print</h2> <a href='../edit/?productId=11&amp;align=v' class='upper'> <img src="../../wflow/tmp/133703b808c91b8ec7e7c7cdf19320b7A1-Print.png" alt="Representation of image printed at A1 Print through MyPersonalPoster." /></a> <p class="upper">23.4 inches x 33.1 inches<br /><strong>&pound;19.99</strong></p> <p class="upper smaller"><em><span><span class="no">Warning</span> - your picture quality may not be sufficient for this size</span> </em></p> <p><a href='../edit/?productId=11&amp;align=v' class='upper'><span>Select</span></a></p> </div> </div> <div class="productContainer"> <div class="product transparent"> <h2 class="upper center">Poster Print (60cm x 80cm)</h2> <a href='../edit/?productId=12&amp;align=v' class='upper'> <img src="../../wflow/tmp/133703b808c91b8ec7e7c7cdf19320b7Poster-Print-(60cm-x-80cm).png" alt="Representation of image printed at Poster Print (60cm x 80cm) through MyPersonalPoster." /></a> <p class="upper">23.6 inches x 31.5 inches<br /><strong>&pound;13.95</strong></p> <p class="upper smaller"><em><span><span class="no">Warning</span> - your picture quality may not be sufficient for this size</span> </em></p> <p><a href='../edit/?productId=12&amp;align=v' class='upper'><span>Select</span></a></p> </div> </div> Any idea what could be causing these DIVs to overlap? What I'd like is for all the boxes to fit within the #container div as expected. It's driving me crazy! Cheers

    how to sort a list in Scala by two fields, in this example I will sort by lastName and firstName? case class Row(var firstName: String, var lastName: String, var city: String) var rows = List(new Row("Oscar", "Wilde", "London"), new Row("Otto", "Swift", "Berlin"), new Row("Carl", "Swift", "Paris"), new Row("Hans", "Swift", "Dublin"), new Row("Hugo", "Swift", "Sligo")) rows.sortBy(_.lastName) I try things like this rows.sortBy(_.lastName + _.firstName) but it doesn't work. So I be curious for a good and easy solution. Thanks in advance! Pongo

  • Endless terrain in jMonkey using TerrainGrid fails to render

    - by nightcrawler23
    I have started to learn game development using jMonkey engine. I am able to create single tile of terrain using TerrainQuad but as the next step I'm stuck at making it infinite. I have gone through the wiki and want to use the TerrainGrid class but my code does not seem to work. I have looked around on the web and searched other forums but cannot find any other code example to help. I believe in the below code, ImageTileLoader returns an image which is the heightmap for that tile. I have modified it to return the same image every time. But all I see is a black window. The Namer method is not even called. terrain = new TerrainGrid("terrain", patchSize, 513, new ImageTileLoader(assetManager, new Namer() { public String getName(int x, int y) { //return "Scenes/TerrainMountains/terrain_" + x + "_" + y + ".png"; System.out.println("X = " + x + ", Y = " + y); return "Textures/heightmap.png"; } })); These are my sources: jMonkeyEngine 3 Tutorial (10) - Hello Terrain TerrainGridTest.java ImageTileLoader This is the result when i use TerrainQuad: , My full code: // Sample 10 - How to create fast-rendering terrains from heightmaps, and how to // use texture splatting to make the terrain look good. public class HelloTerrain extends SimpleApplication { private TerrainQuad terrain; Material mat_terrain; private float grassScale = 64; private float dirtScale = 32; private float rockScale = 64; public static void main(String[] args) { HelloTerrain app = new HelloTerrain(); app.start(); } private FractalSum base; private PerturbFilter perturb; private OptimizedErode therm; private SmoothFilter smooth; private IterativeFilter iterate; @Override public void simpleInitApp() { flyCam.setMoveSpeed(200); initMaterial(); AbstractHeightMap heightmap = null; Texture heightMapImage = assetManager.loadTexture("Textures/heightmap.png"); heightmap = new ImageBasedHeightMap(heightMapImage.getImage()); heightmap.load(); int patchSize = 65; //terrain = new TerrainQuad("my terrain", patchSize, 513, heightmap.getHeightMap()); // * This Works but below doesnt work* terrain = new TerrainGrid("terrain", patchSize, 513, new ImageTileLoader(assetManager, new Namer() { public String getName(int x, int y) { //return "Scenes/TerrainMountains/terrain_" + x + "_" + y + ".png"; System.out.println("X = " + x + ", Y = " + y); return "Textures/heightmap.png"; // set to return the sme hieghtmap image. } })); terrain.setMaterial(mat_terrain); terrain.setLocalTranslation(0,-100, 0); terrain.setLocalScale(2f, 1f, 2f); rootNode.attachChild(terrain); TerrainLodControl control = new TerrainLodControl(terrain, getCamera()); terrain.addControl(control); } public void initMaterial() { // TERRAIN TEXTURE material this.mat_terrain = new Material(this.assetManager, "Common/MatDefs/Terrain/HeightBasedTerrain.j3md"); // GRASS texture Texture grass = this.assetManager.loadTexture("Textures/white.png"); grass.setWrap(WrapMode.Repeat); this.mat_terrain.setTexture("region1ColorMap", grass); this.mat_terrain.setVector3("region1", new Vector3f(-10, 0, this.grassScale)); // DIRT texture Texture dirt = this.assetManager.loadTexture("Textures/white.png"); dirt.setWrap(WrapMode.Repeat); this.mat_terrain.setTexture("region2ColorMap", dirt); this.mat_terrain.setVector3("region2", new Vector3f(0, 900, this.dirtScale)); Texture building = this.assetManager.loadTexture("Textures/building.png"); building.setWrap(WrapMode.Repeat); this.mat_terrain.setTexture("slopeColorMap", building); this.mat_terrain.setFloat("slopeTileFactor", 32); this.mat_terrain.setFloat("terrainSize", 513); } }
