  Hey all, So I've been plagued by this issue, whenever I try to run my app in eclipse, I get this error. 2011-02-23 09:55:08,388 ERROR (com.xxxxx.services.factory.ServiceInvokerLocal:21) - java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no ocijdbc10 in java.library.path I've tried following the steps I found here with no luck. I've tried this on a XP VM as well as windows 7 (although in win 7 I get a different error, below) java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no ocijdbc9 in java.library.path I've made sure my oracle client was ok (by running TOAD) and I also re-added the classes12.jar / ojdbc14.jars to my WEB-INF/lib folder taken directly from my %ORACLE_HOME% folder (also re-added them to the lib path). I've also tried just adding the ojdbc14.jar without the classes12.jar. Any suggestions appreciated. In the XP VM I have my PATH variable set to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_24\bin;C:\ORACLE\product\10.2.0.1\BIN. I'm using Tomcat server 5.0

• Pure virtual destructor in interface

  Hello all. Here is my problem. I'm making C++ dll, which extensively relies on instance object exports. So i return my actual instances as a pointers to interface through some exported factory method. Interfaces i use are purely virtual, to avoid linking problame. So i need a pure virtual destructor too, and i implemented one (with empty body, as i googled it). All compiles perfectly well, except... I can't see, if the actual destructors are called or not - because when i added some std::cout << "hello destructor"; i never get to see it. I have some explicit "delete obj", that's not the problem. Am i missing something? Is there another way to delete my object through interface?

  I'm getting this in the console, when creating my OpenAL Sources and Buffers: Cannot find executable for CFBundle/CFPlugIn 0xf530d0 </Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/Hear.plugin> (not loaded) 2010-05-05 17:11:13.934 Testproj[43173:207] Cannot find function pointer HearCFPlugInFactory for factory 5268FAAB-0147-4272-93FD-4D60A2433C1C in CFBundle/CFPlugIn 0xf430d0 </Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/Hear.plugin> (not loaded) However, the sounds play nicely. I think HAL is not available on the iPhone, it's just on Mac OS X, right? Do you guys also get that error in the simulator when using OpenAL?

  I've always used cURL for this sort of stuff, but this article got me thinking I could request another page easily using the Request object in Kohana 3. $url = 'http://www.example.com'; $update = Request::factory($url); $update->method = 'POST'; $update->post = array( 'key' => 'value' ); $update->execute(); echo $update->response; However I get the error Accessing static property Request::$method as non static From this I can assume it means that the method method is static, but that doesn't help me much. I also copied and pasted the example from that article and it threw the same error. Basically, I'm trying to POST to a new page on an external server, and do it the Kohana way. So, am I doing this correctly, or should I just use cURL (or file_get_contents() with context)?

  I am using nHibernate for the first time, and after alot of reading/researching, plus looking at other projects done with nHibernate, have seen a couple of implementation practices. I am looking for opinions about which would be best to use and why. Essentially the two methods are as follows: Using Data Access Objects and a DAO Factory. Example usage: INotificationListDAO nListDAO = NHDaoFactory.GetNotificationListDAO(); NotificationList list = nListDAO.GetByListID(""); Use Static methods in the Domain Object. Example usage: NotificationList list = NotificationList.GetByListID(""); NHHelper.Session.Get(id); NHHelper.Session basically calls the NHibernateSessionManager.Instace.GetSessionFrom(""). While both look similar, it is more to do with best practice. From what I understand, the first option is more so if you are developing enterprise level applications, where my requirements are more for mid-range websites.

  I am trying to manage an IIS7 installation remotely using the Microsoft.Web.Administration library. I'm doing this in IronPython: import Microsoft.Web.Administration from Microsoft.Web.Administration import ServerManager manager = ServerManager.OpenRemote("RemoteServerName") for site in manager.Sites: print "Site: %(site)s" % { 'site' : site.Name } On the last line as it attempts to communicate with the remote server I get the following error: Retrieving the COM class factory for remote component with CLSID {2B72133B-3F5B-4602-8952-803546CE3344} from machine devdealernetsvr failed due to the following error: 80070005. My research into the error lead me to believe that I do not have the proper credentials against the remote machine and so I would like to impersonate a user that does. I was hard pressed to find a way to do this with IronPython. Any help is much appreciated.

• Where to intercept resolution of controller/view in ASP.Net MVC for customizations?

  I am trying to figure out where the appropriate place is to intercept the resolution of what view + controller is being called in ASP.Net MVC 2. I have a situation where I have a controller and a corresponding set of views. I also have the possibility of a customized version of both the controller and N of the views sitting in the project (or we may use something like Portable Views from the MvcContrib project). If the customized version of the controller or view(s) exists at run time, and the user satisfies certain criteria, I need to call the customized controller and use the appropriate customized view. At design/compile time we don't know what customizations may be in place. My first run at this was by using a custom controller factory that returns a custom controller if it exists. However, this controller is "wired up" to the standard view, and I cannot figure out how to return the customized view if it also exists. To complicate matters, there may be no customized controller but customized views, and visa-versa.

  Hi, Recently, I am studying how to store and index using Solr. I want to do facet.prefix search. With whitespace tokenizer, "Where are you" will be splited into three words and indexed. If I search facet.prefix="where are", no result will be returned. I google and found NGramFilterFactory can help me. But when I apply this filter factory, I found the result is "w, h, e, ..., wh, ..", which split the sentence by character, not by token word. I use the parameters maxGramSize and minGramSize, set to 1 and 3. Does the NGramFilterFactory work right? Should I add some other parameters? Is there some other filter factories which can help me? • Task.wait not working as I imagined

  I am trying to download a file, wait for the file to finish downloading, and then read the file afterwards. This is throwing an IOException saying that the file is in use by something else and cannot be read. I thought that having task.Wait would prevent the rest of the method from executing until the task was finished?

But what i want to do is to create an NHibernate Configuration object on a selected database engine without a real database behind the scene... And i don't manage to do this. If anybody has some idea.

  we have a lot of tests that uses Myfaces Test Framework for JSF 2.0. http://myfaces.apache.org/test/index.html Problem is we can't get it to work with JSF 2.1. Does anyone know a workaround or a way to solve this?   My project needs to handle three databases, that means three session factories. The thing is if i do something like this with fluent nhibernate: .Mappings(m = m.FluentMappings.AddFromAssembly(Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly())) the factories would pick up all the mappings, even the ones that correspond to another database I've seen that when using automapping you can do something like this, and filter by namespace: .Mappings(m = m.AutoMappings.Add(AutoMap.AssemblyOf().Where(t = t.Namespace == "Storefront.Entities"))) I havent found anything like this for fluent mappings, is it possible?? The only solutions I can think of are: either create separate assemblies for each db mapping classes or explicitly adding each of the entities to the factory configuration. I would prefer to avoid both, if possible. Thanks.

• WPF: Creating instances of resources?

  I'm brand spanking new to WPF and am trying to play around with projects to better understand what I'm reading. My understanding of a resource is that it is the instance, you can't use it like a factory and create instances of it. For example, a XAML-defined rectangle. You can reference it, but you can't have numerous instances of it all over the surface. In WPF, what would be the way to do that? If I define a Rectangle as a resource with specific properties and wanted to have multiple instances of that within a dynamically-generated grid, how should I be going about it? Or is there a different way I should be trying to do this? Purely academic exercise with no real-world application.

• Managing memory of polymorphic timed events with DLL

  Here is my issue. My Gui library that I made supports timed events. Basically, I have a class called TimedEvent which users inherit from. They then do: addTimedEvent(new DerivedTimedEvent(...)); However given the nature of timed events, I manage the memory afterwards. So when the timed event has done its thing, my library calls delete on it. Although it runs fine, that is because the exe and the library were both built with msvc 2008. I think I might have trouble if I have 2 versions of the runtime, one for the lib, and one for the exe. What can I do to fix this? I can't create a factory because the derived type is on the exe side of things. I also cannot ask the user to call delete since they might not have a way to keep track of time, or know if the event was delayed for whatever reason. Thanks

  I'm trying to make a form that handles the checking of a domain: the form should fail based on a variable that was set earlier in another form. Basically, when a user wants to create a new domain, this form should fail if the entered domain exists. When a user wants to move a domain, this form should fail if the entered domain doesn't exist. I've tried making it dynamic overload the initbut couldn't see a way to get my passed variabele to the clean function. I've read that this dynamic validation can be accomplished using a factory method, but maybe someone can help me on my way with this?   Class.forName(boolean.class.getName()); This doesn't work in Java - the virtual machine slaps you with a ClassNotFoundException. I was in need for something like that because I wanted to reflect methods based on Strings that included the method signatures, like public void doSomething(boolean yesWeCan, java.lang.String[] presidents); At the end I came up with a custom 'ClassFactory' which translates the type Strings to class objects. This factory includes a lot of handlers for primitive and array type values. The handler for array type objects is something like: if (isArrayOfObjects) { return Class.forName("L["+typeName.replace("[]", "")+";"); } My question is - have I missed something in the Java 1.5+ API that might do the trick?
