Here are some notes: Great number of jQuery questions, mostly having to do with AJAX Lots of MVC 2 questions also A number of classic ASP.NET web forms, of which only a few were related with the new 4 features Some Entity Framework Some plain old JavaScript, like, changing an image dynamically I think I did OK. As with my previous exam, I still don't know if I passed or not, will have to wait for the end of the beta period.

• Lost all privileges since upgrading to 13.10

  Since upgrading to 13.10, I no longer have the 'privileges' to do the following things: Mount USB/CDROM drives Run software centre or software updater Press the GUI shut down or restart buttons Unlock my account in the 'settings - user accounts' section (padlock is greyed out) Also, when logging on as a guest user I get error messages relating to Compiz crashing with SIGSEGV and it hangs on a blank wallpaper screen. Select the Disk 11GR2_OEL5_32GB.vdi it was added in the virtual media manager in the step 2. Dont forget let selected Boot hard Disk (Primary Master) . Given it is the only disk assigned to the virtual machine.Click Next7. Click Finish8. This step is important. Once you have click on the settings Button.9. On General option click the advanced settings. Here you must change the default directory to save your Snapshots; my recommendation set it to the same directory where the .Vdi file is. Otherwise you can have the same Virtual Machine and its snapshots in different paths.10. Now Click on System, and proceed to assign the correct memory (If you did not before) Note: Enable "Enable IO APIC" if you are planning to assign more than one CPU to the Virtual Machine.Define the processors for the Virtual machine. If you processor is dual core choose 211. Select the video memory amount you want to assign to the Virtual Machine 12. Associated more storage disk to the Virtual machine, if you have more VDI files. (Not our case)The disk must be selected as IDE Primary Master. 13. Before Here we are…Internet Explorer 8 with a lot of How-To Geek Network goodness ready to go. The Taskbar Thumbnail Previews look very nice, but perhaps they take up too much room for those of you who like to keep things simple. The Taskbar Icon has the classic “fanned edge” look just like any other software with Taskbar Thumbnail Previews active. Disabling the Thumbnail Previews If you want to deactivate the Taskbar Thumbnail Previews for Internet Explorer, it is quite easy and will only take you a few moments to complete. Open IE and go to Tools \ Internet Options. When the Internet Options Window opens you will already be on the General Tab. Under the Tabs Section, click on the Settings button. The Tabbed Browsing Settings window opens. Uncheck Show previews for individual tabs in the taskbar and click OK. When you are returned to the Internet Options Window, click OK once again to totally exit out. Note: A browser restart will be required for the changes to take effect. After you have restarted Internet Explorer, you will see the simple default Taskbar Thumbnail Preview and standard icon look. Conclusion If you have been looking to disable the Taskbar Thumbnail Previews for Internet Explorer, then you are only a few clicks away from satisfaction. If you want to change it back, it is as simple as re-enabling the Show previews for individual tabs in the taskbar setting.   I've seen this a couple of times now.  Upon initial installation of a Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, the control panel is a button.  But if you go to the task bar property >> Start Menu tab >> Customize, you will see the option is "Display as a menu".  Click "Display as a link" and press OK, then come back to the same area and select "Display as a menu" will solve the problem.

• Matrix rotation wrong orientation LibGDX

I rotate it using the method matrix.rotate(Vector3 axis, float angle) but the rotation happens in the model orientation and I need it happens in the world orientation. For example: on create() method: matrix.rotate(new Vector3(0,0,1), 45); That is ok, but after: on render() method: matrix.rotate(new Vector3(0,1,0), 1); I need it rotate in world axis.

  How do I cache the images properly, I think asked this somewhere before, but it hasn't affected me until gameing site went out of beta. It's HTTP headers or something isn't Ok I used George's answer but frankly the performance is awful, asking the server for the image everytime (even when it doesn't download the image) creates a small delay of about 1/2 a second but because of the huge number of SE sites, the 1/2s add up. Please, please consider adding a hash of the image to the stackauth.com/sites

  Were you aware there are two versions of the Access .accdb file format? The 2007 “ACE” version and the 2010 “ACE” version both use different drivers. If you’ve tried to use the Access Database .accdb format on DiscountASP.NET servers and it failed you must have been using a Data file created with the 2010 version of Access. • Add Global Hotkeys to Windows Media Player

  Do you use Windows Media Player in the background while working in other applications? The WMP Keys plug-in for Media Player adds global keyboard shortcuts that allow you to control Media Player even when it isn’t in focus. Windows Media Player has a slew of keyboard shortcuts that work only when the media player is active, but these shortcuts stop working once WMP is no longer in focus or minimized. WMP Keys add the following default global hotkeys for Windows Media Player 10, 11, and 12. Ctrl+Alt+Home – Play / Pause Ctrl+Alt+Right – Next track Ctrl+Alt+Left – Previous track Ctrl+Alt+Up Arrow Key – Volume Up Ctrl+Alt+Down Arrow Key – Volume Down Ctrl+Alt+F – Fast Forward Ctrl+Alt+B – Fast Backward Ctrl+Alt+[1-5] – Rate 1-5 stars Note: Tapping Ctrl+Alt+F and Ctrl+Alt+B will skip ahead or back in 5 second intervals. Close out of Windows Media Player and then download and install WMP Keys (link below). After you’ve installed WMP Keys, you’ll need to enable it. Select Organize and then Options… In the Options window, select the Plug-ins tab, click Background in the Category window, then check the box for Wmpkeys Plugin. Click OK to save and exit. You can also enable the plug-in by selecting Tools > Plug-ins and clicking Wmpkeys Plugin. You to view and edit the global hotkeys in the WMPKeys settings window. Select Tools > Plug-in properties and click Wmpkeys Plugin. Below you can see all the default WMP Keys shortcuts.   To change any of the shortcuts, select the text box then press the new keyboard shortcut. Click OK when finished. • SharpDX and game engines, back to zero?

  I'm a desktop developer (I mainly do WPF for a living) but I want to make games as a hobby. So a few months ago, I started reading blogs, gamedevSE, you name it. I understand in the C++ DirectX world, you have engines such as Unity3D with designers and whatnot, but as much as I'm ok to spend months understanding game development, I'd prefer to stay with my comfy C#. So I thought I'd develop my first games in /C#/DirectX through SharpDX But then, I can't use game engines anymore, since they're made for C++DirectX and not SharpDX. (ok, I could do P/Invokes but that defeats the purpose of SharpDX). I do know about XNA, and I also do know I can't publish to the marketplace with it (and quite frankly, I don't really want to learn an API that is in jeopardy). So how do you conceal writing games in C# and using existing game engines instead of reinventing the wheel? wait for ports? So I've found out the following: After doing the first tutorials of MOgre and digging around, it seems MOgre gives you the worse of both worlds: . You can't port it with Mono because it directly references a C++/CLI dll (Ogre) and C++/CLI isn't supported by Mono. And since it's not C++ itself, you can't make a pure build. Which, as far as I understand, means I'd be stuck on windows (and not even WinRT/Metro compatible), without capability of porting anything to mobiles or other OS (Mac/Linux). Even though it looks really nice to develop with MOgre, I'd like to learn something a little more open to future broadening. On the other hand, MonoGame seems to be a rewrite of XNA with SharpDX which sounds very promising: Mono allows me to easily port my games to other platforms, mobiles included. SharpDX allows me to access the latest DirectX versions XNA would be my first choice if only MS showed some hope for the future It really looks like MonoGame is nothing else than XNA on SharpDX. Axiom looks good too but I lack info on the subject (and pages with poor design don't give me a good feeling about an API...) XNA with SunBurn looks good: It should be portable to Mono (can anyone with experience give us feedback on that?), thus multi-platform. It's then marketplace-able since Mono itself is. Did I miss something or are 2) and 4) my best options (aside from the fact Mono doesn't support any XAML)?

  I tried to install ubuntu in my laptop ASUSX401A. I removed windows in the partition tablea at the installation. All ok up to here, however when I reboot the HD after finish the installation, the HD was not recognized, in the bios not appeared the HD the only option was the realtek card, then was impossible to enter to ubuntu. After that I tried again to install ubuntu but now I have a error in the input/output when I wanted the enter the table partion. I appreciate any help Fabian

• How to share two keyboard on the same laptop, french iso layout and usa ansi layout keyboard with usb?

  I recently buy a "noppoo choc mini" with this specific ANSI US-INTERNATIONAL pc84 layout. This specific keyboard have only 84 key , a 60% (compact tenkeyless) reduced layout My problem is simple, there is no keyboard layout into Ubuntu 12.04 which correspond to this usa normal ansi layout ... so it's the same problem with reduced version and only 84 key .. I search a template of normal ANSI US-INTERNATIONAL for xmodmap/xkb, and after i can try to manually map the other key. I search on google, and i don't find any other user which have same problem, so it's seem i have not the good keywoard to search this information.. Edit 1 : Here you can see there is probably a bug in ubuntu, because the layout for USA with dead key is not correct ! EDIT 3 Ok, after reboot i understand the probleme, i explain. I have one laptop with integrated french keyboard, and i want to use my usb keyboard which use a usa ANSI layout. It seem it's impossible in ubuntu and "dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration" to share two different physical layout (ANSI and EU ISO) on the same computer ... EDIT4 Ok, it seems i can switch the physical layout (ISO <- ANSI) with this command in terminal : setxkbmap -layout us setxkbmap -layout us -variant alt-intl an setxkbmap -layout fr It's very complicated qnd it seem ubuntu 12.04 have big problem with keyboard manager ... because all works great with these two commands, without ANY change into the system parameters keyboard !!! Second bug ? The image of the layout for fr is buggy, the layout is not ISO, but i can press on the letter "< " at the left of right shift without any problem !
