  Hi, I'm writing a Maven plugin that merges CSS files together. So all the CSS files that match /foo/bar/*.css might get merged to /foo/merged.css. A concern is that in a file such as /foo/bar/baz.css there might be a property such as: background: url("images/pic.jpg") So when the file is merged into /foo/merged.css this will need to be changed to background: url("bar/images/pic.jpg") The recalculated URL obviously depends on 3 factors: original URL original CSS file location merged CSS file location Assuming that the original and merged CSS files are both on the same filesystem, is there a general formula (or Java library) that can be used to calculate the new url given these 3 inputs?   I have a site and already trying to do a little url rewritting but want to know if there is a solution to make it better my current state urls look like this http://snit.us/Home/tabid/314/CN/1/RE/23/United_States_Missouri.aspx I want to change them to something more ordered so in my new scheme i want to do this http://snit.us/Home/United_States/Missouri/default.aspx obviously the point is that if i remove missouri from the new url it would find all United_States - etc etc etc even better would be to have http://snit.us/Home/United_States/Missouri so its even less cluttered

  Hi, There exists a blog at domain.com I wish to do a 301 redirect on anything that is after domain.com/[category/[post-name] to domain.com/blog/[category]/[post-name] The key here is when someone hits domain.com they just stay there. Only if there's any reference to posts within domain.com that I wish for the redirect to work. Will hold this for at most 6 months, until SEO settles, and then remove the redirect. What is the best way of achieving this with .htaccess ?   Hi guys, I have an internal app (Jira) that i want to use internally and externally, now there might be another way of doing this in which case i'm open to it, but this is what i have so far: URL one: https://domainname.com/jira - external domain name for it URL two: https://domainname.local/jira - internal network name for it. I am running Apache as a reverse proxy and I have this: <Location /jira> ProxyPass http://127.0.0.1:8080/jira ProxyPassReverse http://127.0.0.1:8080/jira </Location> Jira creates all of its links using a base url, which in this case is set to 'https://domainname.local/jira', so obviously when pages get served to the outside world they have .local on them. The question is, is there a way to have the content rewritten as it is served in order to change the .local addresses within the HTML to be the .com ones? Or am i being a retard and there is an easier way to solve this? Cheers for any help.... Andy

  We have some code which needs to run faster. Its already profiled so we would like to make use of multiple threads. Usually I would setup an in memory queue, and have a number of threads taking jobs of the queue and calculating the results. For the shared data I would use a ConcurrentHashMap or similar. I don't really want to go down that route again. From what I have read using actors will result in cleaner code and if I use akka migrating to more than 1 jvm should be easier. Is that true? However, I don't know how to think in actors so I am not sure where to start.   I was wondering if anyone knew why some programming languages that I see most frequently spelled in all caps (like an acronym), are also commonly written in lower case. FORTRAN, LISP, and COBOL come to mind but I'm sure there are many more. Perhaps there isn't any reason for this, but I'm curious to know if any of these changes are due to standards or decisions by their respective communities. Or are people just getting too lazy to hit the caps lock key? (I know I am)

How else can I write this then? I'm having difficulty conjuring something working by chaining any combination of .after(), and .insertAfter()? • @media queries - one rule overrides another?

  I have multiple @media queries all working fine but as soon as i put in a higher max screen-width than 1024px the rules for the higher width gets applied to everything. @media screen and (max-width: 1400px) { #wrap { width: 72%; } } @media screen and (max-width: 1024px) { #slider h2 { width: 100%; } #slider img { margin: 60px 0.83333333333333% 0 2.08333333333333%; } .recent { width: 45.82%; margin: 10px 2.08333333333334% 0 1.875%; } } as you can see 1024px (and also the 800px max-width query) do not change the #wrap width and work fine. As soon as i add the 1400px max-width query it changes them to 72% for ALL sizes and does the same for any element - for instance if i set #slider img to have a margin of 40px it will show at ALL sizes even though it is only in the max-width of 1400px. Am i missing something really obvious? Been trying to work this out for the past 2 days! Thanks, John

  Hi, I'm writing some functions in php using exec() to interrogate a svn. The commands exec("svn list ".$myurl) works. Now, I try to get a path on a svn repository with the checkout command. When I put the command "svn checkout http://core.wordress.org/tags/2.9.2/ last-version" directly in the console, it works. But when I do this from a php script using exec(), like this : exec("svn checkout ".$myurl, $dir) it doesn't work. Have you an idea ??

  I am using mvc to create forms that are generated at runtime. For validation, I am trying my hand at the jquery validation library which is very convenient to use. I have the validation expression of each field in the cdata attribute of the tag <input type="text" name="xyz" id="xyz" class="defaultTextBox" cdata="{validate:{required:true, decimal:true, messages: {required:'Please enter an decimal value', decimal:'Please enter a valid decimal'}}}"> This works beautifully. Now one more requirement I have is that some fields are being shown and hidden according to the logic on the page and I need to disable the validation on the hidden fields such that they do not interfere with the form submission. Just toggling the required:true to false and back to true should be enough. Only i do not know how. Anyone has any experience with that?

  I'm writing a multi-tenant app that will receive requests like http://www.tenant1.com/content/images/logo.gif and http://www.anothertenant.com/content/images/logo.gif.
