  • Extract enumeration data from .XSD file

    - by Ram
    Hi, I am trying to read enum from a XSD file. The schema is as follows <xs:schema id="ShipReports-v1.xsd" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:msdata="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-msdata" attributeFormDefault="unqualified" elementFormDefault="qualified" msdata:IsDataSet="true"> <xs:simpleType name="Type"> <xs:restriction base="xs:string"> <xs:enumeration value="Op1" /> <xs:enumeration value="Op2" /> <xs:enumeration value="Op3" /> </xs:restriction> </xs:simpleType> </xs:schema> I also tried using this but I am getting list item count as Zero. Following is the code I am using DataSet _sR = new DataSet(); _sR.ReadXmlSchema(assembly.GetManifestResourceStream("v1.xsd")); XmlDocument xDoc = new XmlDocument(); xDoc.LoadXml(_sR.GetXml()); XmlNamespaceManager xMan = new XmlNamespaceManager(xDoc.NameTable); xMan.AddNamespace("xs", "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"); XmlNodeList xNodeList = xDoc.SelectNodes( "//xs:schema/xs:simpleType[@name='Type']/xs:enumeration", xMan); string[] enumVal = new string[xNodeList.Count]; int ctr = 0; foreach (XmlNode xNode in xNodeList) { enumVal[ctr] = xNode.Attributes["value"].Value; ctr++; }

  • Getting an Android App to Show Up in the market for "Sony Internet TV"(Google TV)

    - by user1291659
    I'm having a bit of trouble getting my app to show up in the market under GoogleTV. I've searched google's official documentation and I don't believe the manifest lists any elements which would invalidate the program; the only hardware requirement specified is landscape mode, wakelock and external storage(neither which should cause it to be filtered for GTV according to the documentation) and I set the uses touchscreen elements "required" attribute to false. below is the AndroidManifest.xml for my project: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.whateversoft" android:versionCode="2" android:versionName="0.1" > <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="8" /> <application android:icon="@drawable/ic_launcher" android:label="Color Shafted" android:theme="@style/Theme.NoBackground" android:debuggable="false"> <activity android:label="Color Shafted" android:name=".colorshafted.ColorShafted" android:configChanges = "keyboard|keyboardHidden|orientation" android:screenOrientation = "landscape"> <!-- Set as the default run activity --> <intent-filter > <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> <activity android:label="Color Shafted Settings" android:name=".colorshafted.Settings" android:theme="@android:style/Theme" android:configChanges = "keyboard|keyboardHidden"> <!-- --> </activity> </application> <!-- DEFINE PERMISSIONS FOR CAPABILITIES --> <uses-permission android:name = "android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE"/> <uses-permission android:name = "android.permission.WAKE_LOCK"/> <uses-feature android:name="android.hardware.touchscreen" android:required="false" /> <!-- END OF PERMISSIONS FOR CAPABILITIES --> </manifest> I'm about to start promoting the app after the next major release so its been kind of a bummer since I can't seem to get this to work. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance : )

  • possible xml elements in Android resources xmls ?

    - by Vijay C
    I recently came across a forum post in thelink text android developers group. (link below) It has one post which contains following xml. It is xml file which can be used in drawable folder. <selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <!-- Non focused states --> <item android:state_focused="false" android:state_selected="false" android:state_pressed="false" android:drawable="@drawable/tab_unselected" /> <item android:state_focused="false" android:state_selected="true" android:state_pressed="false" android:drawable="@drawable/tab_selected" /> <!-- Focused states --> <item android:state_focused="true" android:state_selected="false" android:state_pressed="false" android:drawable="@drawable/tab_focus" /> <item android:state_focused="true" android:state_selected="true" android:state_pressed="false" android:drawable="@drawable/tab_focus"/> <!-- Pressed --> <item android:state_pressed="true" android:drawable="@drawable/tab_press" /> </selector> Now my question is, where is the documentation which tells me that i can use the following xml tags <selector> , <item>, <color>, <integer-array>, <string-array> and many others tag to create xml resources...? I hope, i have explained what i want to know ?

  • How can I set drawable to a ListView in android

    - by sxingfeng
    I am writing a app for android 1.5. I want to use a complex listview to display my data. I want to show a ImageView of a drawable object in my List item. I learned from a demo: ------> listData.put("Img", listData.put("Img", R.drawable.XXX)); listData.put("Time", "100"); listItems.add(listData); It can display correctly, however, I want to change Img at runtime, The image maybe generated at run-time, so I change the code as follow, but it falls. Can anyone help me ? many thanks! protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.item_list); itemListView = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.listview); ArrayList<HashMap<String, Object>> listItems = new ArrayList<HashMap<String, Object>>(); for(int i = 0;i <XXX.size(); ++i) { HashMap<String, Object> listData = new HashMap<String, Object>(); ---------> 1) listData.put("Img", new Drawable(XXX)); 2) listData.put("Time", "100"); 3) listItems.add(listData); } SimpleAdapter listItemAdapter = new SimpleAdapter(this, listItems, R.layout.listitem, new String[] { "Img", "Time"}, new int[] { R.id.listitem_img, R.id.listitem_time }); itemListView.setAdapter(listItemAdapter); listitem.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:paddingBottom="4dip" android:paddingLeft="12dip" android:paddingRight="12dip"> <ImageView android:paddingTop="12dip" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/listitem_img" /> <TextView android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textSize="20dip" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/listitem_time" /> </LinearLayout>

  • Hadoop Map/Reduce - simple use example to do the following...

    - by alexeypro
    I have MySQL database, where I store the following BLOB (which contains JSON object) and ID (for this JSON object). JSON object contains a lot of different information. Say, "city:Los Angeles" and "state:California". There are about 500k of such records for now, but they are growing. And each JSON object is quite big. My goal is to do searches (real-time) in MySQL database. Say, I want to search for all JSON objects which have "state" to "California" and "city" to "San Francisco". I want to utilize Hadoop for the task. My idea is that there will be "job", which takes chunks of, say, 100 records (rows) from MySQL, verifies them according to the given search criteria, returns those (ID's) which qualify. Pros/cons? I understand that one might think that I should utilize simple SQL power for that, but the thing is that JSON object structure is pretty "heavy", if I put it as SQL schemas, there will be at least 3-5 tables joins, which (I tried, really) creates quite a headache, and building all the right indexes eats RAM faster than I one can think. ;-) And even then, every SQL query has to be analyzed to be utilizing the indexes, otherwise with full scan it literally is a pain. And with such structure we have the only way "up" is just with vertical scaling. But I am not sure it's the best option for me, as I see how JSON objects will grow (the data structure), and I see that the number of them will grow too. :-) Help? Can somebody point me to simple examples of how this can be done? Does it make sense at all? Am I missing something important? Thank you.

  • <nunit2> is not working correctly.

    - by Bobby
    I have the following task in my nant script: <nunit2 verbose="true"> <formatter type="Plain" /> <test assemblyname="${output}\Test.dll" appconfig="${project.src.root}\Test\Test.config"/> </nunit2> Test.config is the following: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <runtime> <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"> <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity name="nunit.framework" publicKeyToken="96d09a1eb7f44a77" culture="Neutral" /> <bindingRedirect oldVersion="2.5.3.9345" newVersion="2.2.8.0" /> </dependentAssembly> </assemblyBinding> </runtime> </configuration> I get an error when i run this task saying could not load nunit.framework. I know nunit is not in the GAC (not strongly signed). Does Nunit have to be in the GAC for this task to work?

  • Correct use of setEmtpyView in AdapterView

    - by Sebi
    I'm really having trouble using the setEmptyView method. I tried it to implement it in GridView and ListView, but both of them didnt work. Here a sample codeblock: networkGames = (GridView) baseLayer.findViewById(R.id.all_game_grid_network); networkGames.setBackgroundResource(R.drawable.game_border); networkGames.setSelector(R.drawable.game_active_border); networkGames.setOnItemClickListener(new NetworkGameListener()); networkGames.setEmptyView(View.inflate(baseLayer, R.drawable.no_network_games, null)); networkGames.setAdapter(new NetworkAdapter()); The network adapter contains no items: private class NetworkAdapter extends BaseAdapter { /* (non-Javadoc) * @see android.widget.Adapter#getCount() */ @Override public int getCount() { return 0; } /* (non-Javadoc) * @see android.widget.Adapter#getItem(int) */ @Override public Object getItem(int position) { return null; } /* (non-Javadoc) * @see android.widget.Adapter#getItemId(int) */ @Override public long getItemId(int position) { return 0; } /* (non-Javadoc) * @see android.widget.Adapter#getView(int, android.view.View, android.view.ViewGroup) */ @Override public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { return null; } } I also tried to call networkGames.setAdapter(null), but this doesnt work either. My emtpyView looks like this: <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/LinearLayout01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <TextView android:text="There are currently no network games available. Start a new one." android:id="@+id/TextView01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:gravity="center"> </TextView> </LinearLayout> I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. I also read various tutorials, but none of them metnioned any problems.

  • Force an ASP.NET 3.5 WebSite to use version 1.0.61025.0 of System.Web.Extensions

    - by Greg
    I just upgraded my Web Site project from 2.0 to 3.5 to take advantage of the TimeZoneInfo class. When I did this, I started getting an ambiguous assembly error (*see below). The problem is, I'm not using ScriptManager, an old version of SyncFusion is. I can't upgrade SyncFusion right now, so I need to tell ASP.NET to use version 1.0.61025.0 of the assembly. I ripped out all of the 3.5 script stuff from the web.config and adding bindingRedirects to it, but it didn't work. <runtime> <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"> <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity name="System.Web.Extensions" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> <bindingRedirect oldVersion="3.5.0.0" newVersion="1.0.61025.0" /> </dependentAssembly> <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity name="System.Web.Extensions.Design" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> <bindingRedirect oldVersion="3.5.0.0" newVersion="1.0.61025.0" /> </dependentAssembly> </assemblyBinding> </runtime> The type 'System.Web.UI.ScriptManager' is ambiguous: it could come from assembly 'C:\inetpub\wwwroot\xxx\bin\System.Web.Extensions.DLL' or from assembly 'C:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Web.Extensions\3.5.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35\System.Web.Extensions.dll'. • Android animation's first frame is applied too early on ImageView

    - by Robert
    I have the following View setup in one of my Activities: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/photoLayout" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/photoImageView" android:src="@drawable/backyardPhoto" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:gravity="center" android:scaleType="centerInside" android:padding="45dip" > </ImageView> </LinearLayout> Without an animation set, this displays just fine. However I want to display a very simple animation. So in my Activity's onStart override, I have the following: @Override public void onStart() { super.onStart(); mPhotoImageView = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.photoImageView); float offset = -25; int top = mPhotoImageView.getTop(); TranslateAnimation anim1 = new TranslateAnimation( Animation.ABSOLUTE, 0, Animation.ABSOLUTE, 0, Animation.ABSOLUTE, top, Animation.ABSOLUTE, offset); anim1.setInterpolator(new AnticipateInterpolator()); anim1.setDuration(1500); anim1.setStartOffset(5000); TranslateAnimation anim2 = new TranslateAnimation( Animation.ABSOLUTE, 0, Animation.ABSOLUTE, 0, Animation.ABSOLUTE, offset, Animation.ABSOLUTE, top); anim2.setInterpolator(new BounceInterpolator()); anim2.setDuration(3500); anim2.setStartOffset(6500); mBouncingAnimation = new AnimationSet(false); mBouncingAnimation.addAnimation(anim1); mBouncingAnimation.addAnimation(anim2); mPhotoImageView.setAnimation(mBouncingAnimation); } The problem is that when the Activity displays for the first time, the initial position of the photo is not in the center of the screen with padding around. It seems like the first frame of the animation is loaded already. Only after the animation is completed, does the photoImageView "snap" back to the intended location. I've looked and looked and could not find how to avoid this problem. I want the photoImageView to start in the center of the screen, and then the animation to happen, and return it to the center of the screen. The animation should happen by itself without interaction from the user.

  • NotFoundException in layout editor for Android?

    - by borg17of20
    I'm trying to extend a RelativeLayout object and include an embedded SurfaceView object that uses a png file in my /res/drawable folder as its background but I keep getting an error in the XML Layout editor. See the following code: public class StopMotionRelativeLayout extends RelativeLayout { private Context myContext; private SurfaceView surfaceView1; private BitmapFactory.Options myBitmapOptions; private final android.view.ViewGroup.LayoutParams params = new LayoutParams(LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT, android.view.ViewGroup.LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT); public StopMotionRelativeLayout(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); myContext = context; this.setBackgroundColor(Color.GREEN); //init images surfaceView1 = new SurfaceView(myContext,attrs); surfaceView1.setVisibility(View.INVISIBLE); this.addView(surfaceView1, params); } @Override protected void onMeasure(int widthMeasureSpec, int heightMeasureSpec) { super.onMeasure(widthMeasureSpec, heightMeasureSpec); myBitmapOptions = new Options(); myBitmapOptions.outWidth = widthMeasureSpec; myBitmapOptions.outHeight = heightMeasureSpec; surfaceView1.setBackgroundDrawable(new BitmapDrawable(BitmapFactory.decodeResource(this.myContext.getResources(), R.drawable.golf1, myBitmapOptions))); } } I get the following error: NotFoundException: Could not find drawable resource matching value 0x7F020002 (resolved name: golf1) in current configuration. I have seen this type of error may times now and it always happens when I try to load something from a resource file via code and not XML. Curiously, this error does not stop me from compiling the app, and the app runs without error in the emulator. I'd like to get back the use of my layout editor though... Please help. UPDATE: Here is the layout XML <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <com.games.test.StopMotionRelativeLayout android:id="@+id/RelativeLayout01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> </com.games.test.StopMotionRelativeLayout>

  • Serializing Exceptions WCF + Silverlight

    - by Bram
    I have a WCF service I use to submit bugs for my project. Snippet of the data class: Private _exception As Exception <DataMember()> _ Public Property Exception As Exception Get Return _exception End Get Set(ByVal value As Exception) _exception = value End Set End Property I have a Silverlight app that uses the WCF service to send any bugs home if and when they occur. This is the error I'm testing with: Dim i As Integer = 5 i = i / 0 The problem is SL is banging on with this message: System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException was unhandled by user code Message=There was an error while trying to serialize parameter :bug. The InnerException message was 'Type 'System.OverflowException' with data contract name 'OverflowException:http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/System' is not expected. Add any types not known statically to the list of known types - for example, by using the KnownTypeAttribute attribute or by adding them to the list of known types passed to DataContractSerializer.'. Please see InnerException for more details. Is there some trick to get a generic .NET Exception (any InnerException) to serialize properly? I'm not doing anything funky with the exception - it's just a plain 'ol exception Thanks for any help.

  • XML: what processing rules apply for values intertwined with tags?

    - by iCE-9
    I've started working on a simple XML pull-parser, and as I've just defuzzed my mind on what's correct syntax in XML with regards to certain characters/sequences, ignorable whitespace and such (thank you, http://www.w3schools.com/xml/xml_elements.asp), I realized that I still don't know squat about what can be sketched up as the following case (which Validome finds well-formed very much; note that I only want to use xml files for data storage, no entities, DTD or Schemas needed): <bookstore> <book id="1"> <author>Kurt Vonnegut Jr.</author> <title>Slapstick</title> </book> We drop a pie here. <book id="2">Who cares anyway? <author>Stephen King</author> <title>The Green Mile</title> </book> And another one here. <book id="3"> <author>Next one</author> <title>This time with its own title</title> </book> </bookstore> "We drop a pie here." and "And another one here." are values of the 'bookstore' element. "Who cares anyway?" is a value related to the second 'book' element. How are these processed, if at all? Will "We drop a pie here." and "Another one here." be concatenated to form one value for the 'bookstore' element, or are they treated separately, stored somewhere, affecting the outcome of the parsing of the element they belong to, or...?

  • How to create Context Menu using XML file ?

    - by Kaillash
    I am using XML file for creating Context Menu for my ListView. (Please see below). I also want to set a header for this Context Menu. I read (at http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg43062.html)that I can use menu.setHeaderTitle(myContextMenuTitle) in onCreateContextMenu Method. But I need to set this in XML file. How can I accomplish this? Following is code for onCreateContextMenu Method, correct me if I am doing anything wrong.. This is my context_menu.xml file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <menu xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <item android:id="@+id/open" android:title="Open"/> </menu> This is my onCreateContextMenu Method: @Override public void onCreateContextMenu(ContextMenu menu, View v, ContextMenuInfo menuInfo) { MenuInflater inflater = getMenuInflater(); inflater.inflate(R.menu.context_menu, menu); super.onCreateContextMenu(menu, v, menuInfo); } This is my onCreate Method: @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); // extras = getIntent().getExtras(); registerForContextMenu(getListView()); ... }

  • How do You Center a TextView in Layout?

    - by Ken
    I have a complex layout, part of which features a value centered over a label, with + and - buttons on either side of the value. I want the value to center between the buttons, whether it is "1" or "99". It looks fine when it's a 2-digit number like "99", but when it's a single digit the number is left-justified. How do I properly center that value? Here's the portion of my layout that does this: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_above="@id/runway_label" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:orientation="horizontal"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/dec_runway_button" android:src="@drawable/minus_button" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical"/> <TextView android:id="@+id/runway_value" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textColor="#FFFFFF" android:textStyle="bold" android:textSize="40.0sp" android:minWidth="50sp" android:layout_centerInParent="true" android:layout_gravity="center" android:shadowColor="#333333" android:shadowDx="2.0" android:shadowDy="2.0" android:shadowRadius="3.0" /> <ImageView android:id="@+id/inc_runway_button" android:src="@drawable/plus_button" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical"/> </LinearLayout>

  • XML problem in the basic menu example

    - by arakn0
    Hi there, I am trying to create an app with some menus, an I am following the basic example available in the official android site: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/menus.html My problems appear when I define the menu in the XML. After creating the folder res/menu and creating the menu_option.xml file from eclipse.... The project (in general) gives an error that can be read from the Problems tab: Unparsed aapt error(s)! Check the console for output Android Packaging Problem So, changing to the Console tab to get more information about the problem, this can be read: [2010-06-02 11:35:54 - TestAudio] Error in an XML file: aborting build. [2010-06-02 11:35:54 - TestAudio] W/ResourceType(11566): Bad XML block: header size 63327 or total size -144759824 is larger than data size 0 [2010-06-02 11:35:54 - TestAudio] /home/User/workspace/TestAudio/res/menu/options_menu.xml:1: error: Error parsing XML: no element found The strange thing is that eclipse recognizes the menu items that I've defined in the XML,I can reference them in the code with no problems and my main activity builds. (and the rest of the files too). Could it be that when eclipse creates a file, for some reason, the Android SDK has problems to read it, or something similar?? The XML code is exactly the same as the one in the example, so I don't really know what is happening. The code in options_menu.xml is this: <menu xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" <item android:id="@+id/new_game" android:title="New Game" / <item android:id="@+id/quit" android:title="Quit" / </menu Thanks in advance for your help!

  • How to modify/replace option set file when building from command line?

    - by Heinrich Ulbricht
    I build packages from a batch file using commands like: msbuild ..\lib\Package.dproj /target:Build /p:config=%1 The packages' settings are dependent on an option set: <Import Project="..\optionsets\COND_Defined.optset" Condition="'$(Base)'!='' And Exists('..\optionsets\COND_Defined.optset')"/> This option set defines a conditional symbol many of my packages depend on. The file looks like this: <Project xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003"> <PropertyGroup> <DCC_Define>CONDITION;$(DCC_Define)</DCC_Define> </PropertyGroup> <ProjectExtensions> <Borland.Personality>Delphi.Personality.12</Borland.Personality> <Borland.ProjectType>OptionSet</Borland.ProjectType> <BorlandProject> <Delphi.Personality/> </BorlandProject> <ProjectFileVersion>12</ProjectFileVersion> </ProjectExtensions> </Project> Now I need two builds: one with the condition defined and one without. My attack vector would be the option set file. I have some ideas on what to do: write a program which modifies the option set file, run this before batch build fiddle with the project files and modify the option set path to contain an environment variable, then have different option sets in different locations But before starting to reinvent the wheel I'd like to ask how you would tackle this task? Maybe there are already means meant to support such a case (like certain command line switches, things I could configure in Delphi or batch file magic).

  • Android - I can't make a widget clickable to launch an intent

    - by Daniele
    Hi all. I am new to Android development. I have developed a very simple widget that was meant to interact with the user via an ImageButton. What I am trying to do now is as follows. When a user taps the button (after adding the widget to their home screen), I want the phone to dial a certain telephone number. A sort of speed dial for your home screen. Unfortunately when I tap the button nothing happens. This is the body of my SpeedDialAppWidgetProvider.onUpdate method: Log.d("", "beginning of onUpdate"); final int N = appWidgetIds.length; for (int i=0; i<N; i++) { int appWidgetId = appWidgetIds[i]; Log.d("", "dealing with appWidgetId: " + appWidgetId); // Create an Intent to launch ExampleActivity Intent dialIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_CALL, Uri.parse("tel:1234567")); PendingIntent pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(context, 0, dialIntent, 0); Log.d("", "pendingIntent classname " + pendingIntent.getClass().getName()); // Get the layout for the App Widget and attach an on-click listener to the button RemoteViews remoteViews = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.speed_dial_appwidget); remoteViews.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.dial_icon, pendingIntent); Log.d("", "remoteViews classname " + remoteViews.getClass().getName()); // Tell the AppWidgetManager to perform an update on the current App Widget appWidgetManager.updateAppWidget(appWidgetId, remoteViews); Log.d("", "end of onUpdate"); I can see the method is called and the result of the logging makes sense. The speed_dial_appwidget.xml file is like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" androidrientation="vertical" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" > <ImageButton id="@+id/dial_icon" android:src="@drawable/speed_dial" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"/> </LinearLayout> Can you please help me with this? Thanks in advance, Dan

  • Moving .NET assemblies away from the application base directory?

    - by RasmusKL
    I have a WinForms application with a bunch of third party references. This makes the output folder quite messy. I'd like to place the compiled / referenced dlls into a common subdirectory in the output folder, bin / lib - whatever - and just have the executables (+ needed configs etc) reside in the output folder. After some searching I ran into assembly probing (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/4191fzwb.aspx) - and verified that if I set this up and manually move the assemblies my application will still work if they are stored in the designated subdirectory like so: <configuration> <runtime> <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"> <probing privatePath="bin" /> </assemblyBinding> </runtime> </configuration> However, this doesn't solve the build part - is there any way to specify where referenced assemblies and compiled library assemblies go? Only solutions I can think of off the top of my head is either post-build actions or dropping the idea and using ILMerge or something. There has got to be a better way of defining the structure :-)

  • How to add custom header to ASMX web service call using jquery?

    - by Mike
    I have a web service with the following contract: POST /Service/service.asmx HTTP/1.1 Host: xxx.xxx.xxx Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8 Content-Length: length SOAPAction: "xxx.xxx.xxx/Service/Method" <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <soap:Header> <Request xmlns="xxx.xxx.xxx/Service/"> <transactiontype>string</transactiontype> <username>string</username> <password>string</password> </Request> </soap:Header> <soap:Body> <Method xmlns="xxx.xxx.xxx/Service/"> <xml>xml</xml> </Method> </soap:Body> </soap:Envelope> And I am trying to call the service using jquery. This is my code: $.ajax({ url: serverUrl + 'Method', type: "POST", dataType: "xml", data: { xml: "xml" }, beforeSend: function (req) { req.setRequestHeader('Header', '<Request xmlns="xxx.xxx.xxx/Service/">' +'<transactiontype>4</transactiontype>' +'<agencyName>name</agencyName>' +'<username>user</username>' +'<password>pass</password>' +'</Request>'); }, success: function (data) { alert(data.text); }, error: function (request, status, errorThrown) { alert(status); } }); However, the header content is not passed to the web service? How would I go about passing the header credentials to my web service call?

  • Every subsequent call to an Axis webservice fails

    - by cudiaco
    I've been having a strange issue with an Axis webservice which is called through the https protocol. Basically, when an invocation is made, the call goes through just fine. If the call is made again, the web service fails, returning me with the following message: <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <soapenv:Body> <soapenv:Fault> <faultcode>soapenv:Server.userException</faultcode> <faultstring>org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Unexpected end of file after null</faultstring> <detail> <ns1:hostname xmlns:ns1="http://xml.apache.org/axis/">f0s0</ns1:hostname> </detail> </soapenv:Fault> </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope> When tested locally (through http), the service works perfectly fine. Has anyone encountered an issue like this before? Any help is appreciated.

  • C# Windows Service doesn't seem to like privatePath

    - by SauerC
    I wrote a C# Windows Service to handle task scheduling for our application. I'm trying to move the "business rules" assemblies into a bin subdirectory of the scheduling application to make it easier for us to do updates (stop service, delete all files in bin folder, replace with new ones, start service). I added <runtime> <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"> <probing privatePath="bin;"/> </assemblyBinding> </runtime> to the service's app config and it works fine if the service is run as a console application. Problem is when the service is run as a windows service it doesn't work. It appears that when windows runs the service the app config file gets read properly but then the service is executed as if it was in c:\windows\system32 and not the actually EXE location and that gums up the works. We've got a lot of assemblies so I really don't want to use the GAC or <codeBase>. Is it possible to have the EXE change it's base directory back to where it should be when it's run as a service?

  • Custom theme and sherlockActionBar

    - by Atomico
    I am doing a personal theme to use holo widget in 2.3 android. I did this: <resources xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <style name="AppThemes" parent="@style/Theme.Sherlock"> <item name="android:editTextStyle">@style/EditTextAppTheme</item> <item name="android:checkboxStyle">@style/CheckBoxAppTheme</item> <item name="android:radioButtonStyle">@style/RadioButtonAppTheme</item> <item name="android:buttonStyle">@style/ButtonAppTheme</item> <item name="android:imageButtonStyle">@style/ImageButtonAppTheme</item> <item name="android:spinnerStyle">@style/SpinnerAppTheme</item> <item name="android:dropDownSpinnerStyle">@style/SpinnerAppTheme.DropDown</item> <item name="android:spinnerDropDownItemStyle">@style/SpinnerDropDownItemAppTheme</item> </style> </resources> the problem is that widgets don't take the correct style but take the default style. I tried to force assign the @style/EditTextAppTheme at an edittext and it worked.. so the problem is that the theme don't apply. any idea? update: the theme apply and work good..the solo problem is some edittext inside a dialog that show with the standard theme

  • Standard Android Button with a different color

    - by Mike
    I'd like to change the color of a standard Android button slightly in order to better match a client's branding. For example, see the "Find a Table" button for the OpenTable application: The best way I've found to do this so far is to change the Button's drawable to the following drawable located in res/drawable/red_button.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <item android:state_pressed="true" android:drawable="@drawable/red_button_pressed" /> <item android:state_focused="true" android:drawable="@drawable/red_button_focus" /> <item android:drawable="@drawable/red_button_rest" /> </selector> But doing that requires that I actually create three different drawables for each button I want to customize (one for the button at rest, one when focused, and one when pressed). That seems more complicated and non-DRY than I need. All I really want to do is apply some sort of color transform to the button. Is there an easier way to go about changing a button's color than I'm doing?
