    I have a large xml file which contents a lot of self-closed tags. How could remove all them by using XSLT. eg. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Persons> <Person> <Name>user1</Name> <Tel /> <Mobile>123</Mobile> </Person> <Person> <Name>user2</Name> <Tel>456</Tel> <Mobile /> </Person> <Person> <Name /> <Tel>123</Tel> <Mobile /> </Person> <Person> <Name>user4</Name> <Tel /> <Mobile /> </Person> </Persons> I'm expecting the result: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Persons> <Person> <Name>user1</Name> <Mobile>123</Mobile> </Person> <Person> <Name>user2</Name> <Tel>456</Tel> </Person> <Person> <Tel>123</Tel> </Person> <Person> <Name>user4</Name> </Person> </Persons> Note: there are thousands of different elements, how can I programmatically remove all the self-closed tags.     Suppose you have two sets of conceptual entities: MarketPriceDataSet which has multiple ForwardPriceEntries PoolPriceForecastDataSet which has multiple PoolPriceForecastEntry Both different child objects have near identical fields: ForwardPriceEntry has StartDate EndDate SimulationItemId ForwardPrice MarketPriceDataSetId (foreign key to parent table) PoolPriceForecastEntry has StartDate EndDate SimulationItemId ForecastPoolPrice PoolPriceForecastDataSetId (foreign key to parent table) If I modelled them as separate tables, the only difference would be the foreign key, and the name of the price field. There has been a debate as to whether the two near identical tables should be merged into one. Options I've thought of to model this is: Just keep them as two independent, separate tables Have both sets in the one table with an additional "type" field, and a parent_id equalling a foreign key to either parent table. This would sacrifice referential integrity checks. Have both sets in the one table with an additional "type" field, and create a complicated sequence of joining tables to maintain referential integrity. What do you think I should do, and why?

    Hello, i have created a namedquery with ejb to check if the username is used.   • PHP: xml_parse replaces entities and "?" character

    How can I describe something I can't quite put my finger on? I have a module for RSS reading "magpierss" it uses xml_parse() and after extensive troubleshooting all I can come up with is that it removes certain entities like "?" character. I haven't written this module myself but I have traced the code until the part uses xml_parse() and then the output is just replaced. And to my disappointment this behavior exists on our production server only and not the local server. I have compared both php.ini file to search for any differences but couldn't find anything. Could anyone please direct on where to search exactly, i don't even know which direction to start from. Thanks

    Allot of my use of hibernate, at least for that data that is presented on many parts of the web application, is for read-only purposes. I want to add some parameters to my Dao methods so I can modify the way hibernate pulls the data and how it handles transactions etc. Example usage: Data on the front page of my website is displayed to the users, it is read-only, so I want to avoid any session/entity tracking that hibernate usually does. This is data that is read-only, will not be changed in this transaction, etc. What would be the most performant way to pull the data?     I once read a blog post and cannot find it anymore. drat! It was about a guy who setup a wcf service (I guess RIA, but could have been something else) exposing the model via IQueryable to the querystring. Sou you could say http://host/articles/123/ratings and you'd get a list (soap or json) of serialized Rating entities (the properties which had some attribute attached) which pertained to an article with id 123. All this with nHibernate / nh linq in the back and in surprisingly few lines of code. Anyone knows what I am talking about? Experiences, suggestions?

    Let's say you have two kinds, Message and Contact, related by a db.ListProperty of keys on Message. A user creates a message, adds some contacts as recipients, and emails the message. Later, the user deletes one of the contact entities that was a recipient of the message. Our application should delete the appropriate Contact entity, but we want to preserve the original recipient list for the message that was sent for the user's records. In essence, we want a snapshot of the message entity at the time it was sent. If we naively delete the contact entity, though, we lose snapshot integrity; if not, we are left with an invalid key.     I am trying to import data from a database that uses primary key / forign key relations to a core data database in Xcode. I have code that creates hundreds of child entities in a managed object context: Each child has an ID that corresponds to a parent. child1 parentID = 3 child2 parentID = 17 child3 parentID = 17 ... childn parentID = 5 I now need to relate each child to its parent. The parents are all stored in persistent memory. My first thought was to preform a fetch for each child to get its parent. However, I think this would be slow. Am I correct? How should I do this instead?

  • PyGTK: Radiobuttons are still displayed after removal

    Hi everyone! I am using PyGTK and the gtk.assistant. On one page I would like to display two radiobuttons in case the user selected a certain option on a previous page. The labels of the buttons - and whether the buttons are to be present at all - are to depend entirely on that earlier selection. Furthermore, if the user goes back and changes that selection, the page containing the radiobuttons is to be updated accordingly. I have got as far as having the radiobuttons displayed when necessary, and with the correct labels. The trouble is that if I go back and change the determining selection, or if I move one page further than the 'radiobutton page' and then move back, the buttons are not only not removed (in case that would have been required), their number has also doubled. To show you what I'm doing, here's part of my code (I've left out bits that do unrelated things, that's why the function name doesn't fit).     I'm using the Linq to Entities. I've got my main table, Employee setup with a field named vendorID. Vendor ID is a foreign key into the Vendors table. As it is right now, the Employee object does not directly expose the vendorID. Instead, I can only access it this way: var employee = (from e in context.Employees.Include("tbl_vendors") where e.employeeID = 1 select e).FirstOrDefault(); //this gets the vendor ID int vendorID = employee.tbl_vendors.vendorID; That is just fine and dandy, but it is extra work on the database because it is forcing a join where none is needed. Is there a way to get that key value without being forced to do a join to the tbl_vendors table?

    If it's important to keep data access 'away' from business and presentation layers, what alternatives or approaches can I take so that my LINQ to SQL entities can stay in the data access layer? So far I seem to be simply duplicating the classes produced by sqlmetal, and passing those object around instead simply to keep the two layers appart. For example, I have a table in my DB called Books. If a user is creating a new book via the UI, the Book class generated by sqlmetal seems like a perfect fit although I'm tightly coupling my design by doing so.

  • Creating new Entities from Stored Procedure

    I have a stored procedure that retrieves existing rows from a table and also creates includes new rows that match the table definition and mapped entity (.net 3.5 entity framework). These new rows are not written to the database in the stored procedure. The stored procedure executes, but the new rows that were created will not load the navigation properties sucessfully i.e. the rows that do not actually exist in the database. e.g. database rows: key, data, FK 1, xxx, a 2, xxx, b returned rows from stored procedure: key, data, FK 1, xxx, a 2, xxx, b 3, yyy, a 4, yyy, b The entity will load FK entities a and b for rows 1 and 2, but for rows 3 and 4 the FK entity is null. Do I somehow need to add the new rows to the data context? or turn off tracking?

    I'm new to parsing XML and am having an issue with entities. (Am doing this on Android, if it makes a difference). Is there a way to have it turn an entity into the character it represents? I have this in the child of an element: "isn&#39;t" (minus quotes). I would prefer it parse it and the end result be a single text node. However, right now this is turned in to TEXT, ENTITY, TEXT. Is there a way to automatically have it parse the entity into text, or a manual way to do it?
