• IE won't start session from an iframe?..

  The task was to bypass login form on remote server with a session_id acquired through a call to server's web API. So that user wouldn't have to login twice. Since there's no way to set cookies for different domain. What we came up to was - put a little file on remote server, to which we pass encrypted session_id from hidden iframe and which is supposed to start a proper session for a remote app, which is then loaded in another iframe. This approach works fine in FF/Chrome, but not IE... However if I copy url to self-made remote authorization script from iframe's src attribute to to IE's address bar and load it from there, session get's created as expected. But for some reason it just doesn't want to do the same from an iframe. Does anyone have any clue, why this is happening?

  Greetings Guys.. Iam 32 years old, I graduated from university in 2005 but from that time I didnt work in my career as a developer,and I dont have any experience in that major. My current career is software testing, but actually iam not satisfied in that job since i dont see any future for it and i dont know its path (to where will I arrive). Now i decided to take extra cources in VB.net, asp.net since I want to change my career to become webdeveloper. But 1 thing that always desturb me is that I feel that time is passed iam iam too old to become web developer. • Visual Studio ASP.Net MVC undo set as start page action

  I have an web application that I'm working on, it was working fine until my curiosity got the better of me and I right-clicked on a view and chose Set As Start Page option. Now, whenever I run my application it takes me to the Resource Not Found error page. I have the default register route set in my Global config route which was working fine before. I notice that the URL now reads: http://localhost:1234/Views/User/Login.aspx instead of http://localhost:1234/ like it was before. I'm not sure how to undo this action or what was changed, I've looked in my web.config file but I'm not sure what to look for exactly, Help is appreciated.

  Hello fellow programmers. Im a pretty experienced programmer in PHP and mainly web languages but today i have decided i want to start to learn a new language! Im only 21 and I feel as I will never make it in the programming industry without a great set of languages under my belt, So i decided to have a look at C#. The reason I have chosen C# is because some C programmers have told me that C# is the best language to learn for desktop applications. • in asp.net mvc is it possible to register routes somewhere other than application.Start()

  Hi, is it possible to create and register routes after Application.Start() is called? let's say have a controller, PersonController. With default routing, URLs could look something like www.site.com/Person/Edit/4, with 'Person' matching the controller. now imagine I have several users, some may prefer we use the term 'Friends'. I would like to use the same controller, and have /Friends/Edit/4 map to the same controller/action/id. Maybe someone else prefers /Comrades/Edit/4. with the naming preferences stored in a database, is there a way that I can dynamically create these routes at some point mid-application, after the user has logged in? thanks!

• Can not start an desktop application in C#'s Process

  I try to pragrammatically run applications such as notepad.exe and Calc.exe with the following codes. I can see the application is activated in Process Exprorer but the application UI does not appear on the screen. I got this info inside the process p - "Process must exit before requested information can be determined" and the exitcode are 1200, 5084, etc. What is wrong? Thanks!   I need to write a process controller module on Linux that handles tasks, which are each made up of multiple executables. The input to the controller is an XML file that contains the path to each executable and list of command line parameters to be passed to each. I need to implement the following functionality: Start each executable as an independent Be able to kill any of the created processes independent of the others In order to do (2), I think I need to capture the pid when I create a process, to issue a system kill command. I tried to get access to pid in Java but saw no easy way to do it. All my other logic (putting info about the tasks in DB, etc) is done in Java so I'd like to stick with that, but if there are solutions you can suggest in C, C++, or Python I'd appreciate those, too.

• How to automatically start a C# WebService?

  Hi, I have written a C# WebService. The problem is that after I publish it to IIS it won't automatically start unless any of its methods is called. This is very frustrating because this WebService has to continuously do some background work immediately after it starts (its constructor executes). If IIS is restarted, the WebService will just sit idly until one of its methods is called. Is there a way to overcome this and force the WebService to execute its constructor immediately after it is published or IIS restarted?

• JDBC ResultSet.getString Before/After Start/End of ResultSet Exception

  I have done a lot of searching about this topic through Google but I have yet to find someone using getString() in the way that I am using it so I have not been able to fix this issue in the normal ways that are suggested. What I am trying to do is to obtain all of the information from the database and then use it to populate a table model within the program. I do so by obtaining the data with getString and place it into a String[] object: try { while (rSet.next()) { String row[] = {rSet.getString("DonorName"),rSet.getString("DonorCharity"),((String)rSet.getString("DonationAmount"))}; model.addRow(row); } } However I am always getting a dialog error message stating those error messages in the title: Exception: Before start of result set Exception: After end of result set The data is still added and everything works correctly but it is just annoying to have to dismiss those message windows. Does anyone have some suggestions?

• keypress event not being triggered only at start and end of text field in Firefox (JQuery)

  I'm listening for keypress events on an input field with delegation. For some reason, Firefox doesn't trigger the delegated event for cursor UP when at the start of the field, or cursor DOWN when at the end. LEFT and RIGHT work as expected all the time. Directly binding an event listener to the field works fine, so it has to be something to do with delegation.   I have a string that looks like this: var str = "Hello world, &nbsp;hello &gt;world, hello world!"; ... and I'd like to replace all the hellos with e.g. bye and world with earth, except the words that start with &nbsp or &gt. Those should be ignored. So the result should be: bye earth, &nbsp;hello &gt;world, bye earth! Tried to this with str.replace(/(?!\&nbsp;)hello/gi,'bye')); But it doesn't work.

• Creating a "mountable" File System, where to start?

  A friend and I are thinking about creating a simple file system for learning purposes. We're going to write it in C/C++, and try to get it to a mountable state from within linux. We've both been coding or over 16 years (32 combined), so I suppose its just a matter of finding some documentation, and a ton of learning. My question is, where could I find out more information? (Documentation for creating a file system, requirements of mounting a file system in linux, etc) Where do we start? Edit: I should also mention, this would not be a boot-able file system, just a file system used for storage, though I am not too sure if that matters or not.

• Using same Debug settings for Start External Program across 32 bit and 64 bit debug environments

  We use a mixture of 32-bit and 64-bit development environments. Some of our class libraries are debugged using a 32-bit application so we have debug settings for "Start External Program" and "Working Directory". The problem is that the settings need to be different since the 32-bit application is installed to C:\Program Files\xxx (on the 32-bit dev enviroment) or C:\Program Files (x86)\xxx (on the 64-bit dev environment) Is there a way to use some sort of tag like %PROGRAMFILES% or $(ProgramFiles) so that Visual Studio 2008 will know where to look for the external program? This wouldn't be a major issue except the solution file (where the debug information is saved) is checked into source control...so getting the latest version of the solution from our source repository keeps yoyo'ing the debug settings between the two program files locations.

• Teaching a kid to type in order to start programming

  My 5 year old wants to start programming, but he doesn't yet know how to type without looking for each letter 1 at a time. I know it's going to frustrate him to go so slow because of his typing speed. And it's not going to be fun looking for all the letters constantly... So what's the best way to get him to type fast? Clearly he'll need to type a lot of punctuation like semicolons, colons and symbols. So his little hands will have to get used to spreading over the keyboard... I did some google searches and found some very poor looking apps that focused on the letters.

  i am having a slight problem with the alignment of the footer div. i have a header at the top. div = maincontent { two divs for content, side by side. another 2 divs side by side below the content div. } //just to represent. i know this is not html ;) now i want the footer div to start after the maincontent div finishes. i can do that if i specify a fixed height for the maincontent div. but i dont want to specify a height for it. if i dont specify the height, the footer div starts at the middle of the page. what am i doing wrong?

• Enumerating all hamiltonian paths from start to end vertex in grid graph

  Hello, I'm trying to count the number of Hamiltonian paths from a specified start vertex that end at another specified vertex in a grid graph. Right now I have a solution that uses backtracking recursion but is incredibly slow in practice (e.g. O(n!) / 3 hours for 7x7). I've tried a couple of speedup techniques such as maintaining a list of reachable nodes, making sure the end node is still reachable, and checking for isolated nodes, but all of these slowed my solution down. I know that the problem is NP-complete, but it seems like some reasonable speedups should be achievable in the grid structure. Since I'm trying to count all the paths, I'm sure that the search must be exhaustive, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to prune out paths that aren't promising. Does anyone have some suggestions for speeding the search up? Or an alternate search algorithm?

• Should I start with Trac 0.12 ?

  I'm going to start using Trac for the first time. From what I've gathered, the latest 0.12 is capable of supporting multiple project easily (which is something I will need since I got about 5 projects). However, it seems 0.12 is still in the development (0.12-dev). So, my question is, is it good enough for a newbie in Trac like me to use it? Does anyone has any experience using it ? It will be installed on a Linux server. BTW, I'll only be using the basic functions such as svn browser, wiki, tickets and others.

  Hello, I'm just setting out in android development. I want to make a kind of card based game. I'm just looking for suggestions really on how I might start it. I know I have to make the menu layout and view, then use an Intent from that to get to the main game view. My sticking points are: -There's going to be a deck of cards. It's going to be a set number so I was thinking I could just have each card defined as a button in the layout. I don't know if that is the right way to do it though. -Storage of card details.   I am trying to find a shortcut to place a custom comment sequence on my code, e.g.: /* start of comment blah end of comment /**/ (it is easier to void the comment by just adding a / to the beginning) I would like to do this in Vim by selecting a visual line, block or char and adding '/' characters at the beginning of the block and '/*/' at the end, plus newlines. After selecting some lines (Shift-V) I tried this: '<,'>s/\(.*\)/\/*\r\1\r\/**\// But it adds the comment chars at EACH newline. How can I only apply the substitution at the beginning and end of the selected range? Thanks gm

• Howto disable the emacs site-start files permanently?

  When solving this problem I figured out that I need to disable the site-wise init files in order to get my emacs + CEDET running (everything works nicely when starting emacs using emacs --no-site-file but is broken without the additional argument). I'd like to disable the site-wise init files permanently but as I'm using several different approaches/methods when launching emacs (launcher/panel/terminal) I don't think aliasing it in my .zshrc won't work. I require a method to permanently disable all site-start files. Is there any easy way to achieve this? Thanks!

  hello, I would like to start developing for macosx. I need to create a small native application to help me do some stuff. I never developed in Objective-C, have no idea about cocoa, Xcode, NIB and similar stuff. I don't want to learn by slapping examples together though. This would probably make things done, but I would not learn anything. I'd prefer a guided tutorial (or book) to go from zero to release on the web of the application. Do you have anything to suggest ?
