  • Start SharePoint workflow only with new file versions

    - by NeiOliver
I am trying to create a workflow to send an e-mail whenever a new version of a file is uploaded to a Document Library. The Document Library has lots of fields that, if updated, will create a new version of the ListItem, but I don't want to start the workflow for this cases. Only when a new version of the document is uploaded (including the first version) I want the workflow started. My document library does not need approval, only major versions are enabled and it does not need to checkout files before editing. Is there a way of doing this, even programmatically?

  • how to start writing a very simple programming language

    - by Rex Homming
Recently, I was going around looking for ideas on what I can build using C this summer and I came across this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1257376/interesting-project-to-learn-c Implement a programming language. This doesn't have to be terribly hard - I did the language that must not be named - but it will force you to learn a lot of the important parts of C. If you don't want to write a lexer and/or parser yourself, you can use lex/flex and yacc/bison, but if you plan on that you might want to start with a somewhat smaller project. I was kinda intrigued about the implementing a programming language answer and I'm wondering how do I go about starting this? I've gone through the whole K&R book and I've done some of the exercises as well. I also have a bit of experience in C++ and Java if that matters. Any tips? Thanks!

  • how to controller (start/kill) a background process (server app) in ruby

    - by rubiii
hey guys, i'm trying to set up a server for integration tests (specs actually) via ruby and can't figure out how to control the process. so, what i'm trying to do is: run a rake task for my gem that executes the integration specs the task needs to first start a server (i use webrick) and then run the specs after executing the specs it should kill the webrick so i'm not left with some unused background process webrick is not a requirement, but it's included in the ruby standard library so being able to use it would be great. hope anyone is able to help! ps. i'm running on linux, so having this work for windows is not my main priority (right now).

  • How to start an android project with downloaded sample code

    - by yokyo
Hi, I'm pretty new to android, and just finished setup my environment and reading some tutorials. Then I got sdk samples from the web. Okay, what I wanna ask you is that is there a way to start a sample as a project in the Eclipse? I mean like clicking a project file in c# or a solution file. Here is my folder which I unzipped the code, \android-sdk-windows\samples\android-8\NotePad There are three folders and one file in the folder, \res, \src, \tests, and AndroidManifest.xml Or, do I need to make a new android project and import (or add files? maybe) them? Thanks in advance, yokyo

  • wcf net.tcp service fails to start when extra properties are set

    - by Pharabus
i have a current project that runs fine with a self hosted net.tcp binding if I uses the following host.AddServiceEndpoint(typeof(IMonitorService), new NetTcpBinding() {PortSharingEnabled = false }, ""); host.AddServiceEndpoint(ServiceMetadataBehavior.MexContractName, MetadataExchangeBindings.CreateMexTcpBinding(), "mex"); however if I ammend to the below it fails to run with the message that there is already an endpoint on the port, can anyone explain why adding the extra properties causes it to fail? host.AddServiceEndpoint(typeof(IMonitorService), new NetTcpBinding() {PortSharingEnabled = false,ListenBacklog=1000,ReceiveTimeout=new TimeSpan(0,3,0) }, ""); host.AddServiceEndpoint(ServiceMetadataBehavior.MexContractName, MetadataExchangeBindings.CreateMexTcpBinding(), "mex"); Edit: testing confirms that the ReceiveTimeout property works Ok, as soon as I add the MaxConnections or ListenBacklog the service fails start Edit 2: this link seems to imply i ned portsharing is i want to modify these properies, not sure I am understanding it.

  • SQL Query to select upcoming events with a start and end date

    - by Chris T
I need to display upcoming events from a database. The problem is when I use the query I'm currently using any events with a start day that has passed will show up lower on the list of upcoming events regardless of the fact that they are current My table (yaml): columns: title: type: string(255) notnull: true default: Untitled Event start_time: type: time end_time: type: time start_day: type: date notnull: true end_day: type: date description: type: string(500) default: This event has no description category_id: integer My query (doctrine): $results = Doctrine_Query::create() ->from("sfEventItem e, e.Category c") ->select("e.title, e.start_day, e.description, e.category_id, e.slug") ->addSelect("c.title, c.slug") ->orderBy("e.start_day, e.start_time, e.title") ->limit(5) ->execute(array(), Doctrine_Core::HYDRATE_ARRAY); Basically I'd like any events that is currently going on (so if today is in between start_day and end_day) to be at the top of the list. How would I go about doing this if it's even possible? Raw sql queries are good answers too because they're pretty easy to turn into DQL.

  • MATLAB: Designing a "Warm Start"

    - by squall14414
I'm currently coding a function in MATLAB that has two steps: It processes some data It does some calculations on the processed data I'm using the function to run a series of experiments, where I tweak the way calculations occur in step 2). Seeing how I'm working with a large dataset and the data processing step takes a while each time, however, I'm wondering whether there is anyway to code in a "warm start" in the function. That is to say, is there anyway to save all the progress that I've done after step 1) so that if I run the function a second or third time, it can skip step 1) and go right to step 2)?

  • Android RealViewSwitcher : How to start on second page?

    - by DarcCode
i'm using RealViewSwitcher I got from this site. It works perfectly on my code, but I don't have any idea how to set the initial current screen to second or third screen. the method setCurrentScreen(int) doesn't affect anything and if I change the for loop inside the onLayout() method from for (int i = 0; i < count; i++) {...} into for (int i = 1; i < count; i++){...} It does starts in page two, but you can't go to page one. Any idea how to start on page two?

  • Issues with start activity for result

    - by rodkarom
I have written an Activity using Theme.Holo.Dialog so that it works as an AlertDialog as a login/password notice. I've started this activity with startActivityForResult(...) using a request code I defined. The thing is, whenever I start the activity ´onActivityResult(...)´ is triggered immediately, the buttons get loaded and everything, but once I press them, even though I know the Activity is working because login does happen, there is no result sent back to the first Activity and I am calling setResult(...) and finish() after the buttons are pressed. Thanks in advance, first time using startActivityForResult so I'm sure I must be missing something.

  • working with files on "start without debugging"

    - by user1472066
I'm programming in C, and I have the following problem: I use fopen and try to read from a csv file, that is currently storred in the folder of the exe file of the program. the program works fine in debug mode and release mode, but when I try to run the program in "start without debugging" on visual studio 2008 express edition, the program stops working and windows is showing a message: "*.exe has stopped working. a program caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". I've tried running the program on several computers, and it's the same. another information I can give you is that if I enter the full path of the file (C:....file.csv) - then is works just fine, without any problem. I know I didn't write any code, but I hope someone will have an idea why this can happend. thanks is advance.

  • Creating a CD auto-start dialog

    - by emilyshaun
For me, compact discs and these customized auto-start dialogs are somewhat outdated and waste... However, I have to create such a dialog as an index for a CD consisting of a few PDF files. Making one to work on Microsoft Windows is quite easy. As there might be users from different platforms (Unix, Apple,...), the question raises how to offer them such a (auto-starting) dialog as well. Java is of course an option, but I think it's overloaded and naturally too slow for this purpose. Now, I think of a single webpage that will appear in the local browser. Using all these web standards this could a very creative, light-weight approach working on most systems. Do you see any problems that might occur here? Probably, there is a different and more elegant solution to this issue?

  • Monitor multiple variable amounts of processes' start and exit

    - by ron975
I need some code to monitor the start and exit of processes. For example, assume I have a config file with 3 processe names, lets say, foo.exe, bar.exe and abc.exe. How I imagine this be done would be to create 3 threads and somehow listen to each process individually with a timer in each thread, and then do something afterwards. However, I would need to dynamically create threads and timers, as the config file is meant to be modifiable. I can work with VB.NET or C# Code. Thanks.

  • start javascript code with $(function, etc

    - by YAmikep
I am studying Backbone and the todo example apps from http://todomvc.com/ I have noticed there are 3 severals ways of starting the code in the files: $(function() { // code here }); $(function( $ ) { // code here }); (function() { // code here }()); I do not understand the differences and when I should use one over the other. I also saw some people using this to start their code: $(document).ready(function(){ // code here }); From what I have seen, this is the full way of writing it right? In a more general way, should I always include my javascript code into something like that in each files? Thanks for your advice.

  • Spork servers super slow (>3m) to start for RSpec & Cucumber BDD

    - by Eric M.
I recently installed a fresh development setup on my laptop and now notice that my instances of spork take several minutes to start up. EL syntax error: Expression cannot start with binary operator caused by the following code: String.format("#{myController.deleteItemById(%d)}", getId()) My code looked like this before: "#{myController.deleteItemById(" + getId() + ")}" but this caused eclipse to generate the following warning: EL syntax error: String is not closed UPDATE: @ManagedBean(name = "myController") @ViewScoped public class MyController implements Serializable { private long id; private HtmlPanelGroup panel; public long getId() {return this.id; } private void getPanel() { /// bunch of code for programatically creating a form HtmlCommandButton deleteButton = new HtmlCommandButton(); deleteButton.setId(id); deleteButton.setValue(value); deleteButton.setActionExpression(/* EL expression used here */); } } <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' ?> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets"> <!-- some other elements removed for the sake of clarity --> <h:body> <h:panelGroup binding="#{myController.panel}" /> </h:body> </html>

  • Using Alarmmanager to start a service at specific time

    - by Javadid
    Hi friends, I have searched a lot of places but couldnt find a clean sequential explanation of how to start a service (or if thats not possible then an activity) at a specific time daily using the AlarmManager?? I want to register several such alarms and triggering them should result in a service to be started. I'll be having a small piece of code in the service which can then execute and i can finish the service for good.... Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance(); Calendar cur_cal = Calendar.getInstance(); cur_cal.setTimeInMillis(System.currentTimeMillis()); Date date = new Date(cur_cal.get(Calendar.YEAR), cur_cal.get(Calendar.MONTH), cur_cal.get(Calendar.DATE), 16, 45); cal.setTime(date); Intent intent = new Intent(ProfileList.this, ActivateOnTime.class); intent.putExtra("profile_id", 2); PendingIntent pintent = PendingIntent.getService(ProfileList.this, 0, intent, 0); AlarmManager alarm = (AlarmManager)getSystemService(Context.ALARM_SERVICE); alarm.set(AlarmManager.RTC_WAKEUP, cal.getTimeInMillis(), pintent); System.out.println("The alarm set!!"); i tried this code to activate the alarm at 4.45... but its not firing the service... do i have to keep the process running?? M i doing anything wrong??? One more thing, my service gets perfectly executed in case i use the following code: long firstTime = SystemClock.elapsedRealtime(); alarm.setRepeating(AlarmManager.ELAPSED_REALTIME_WAKEUP, firstTime, 30*1000,pintent);

  • Process: Unable to start service com.google.android.gms.checkin.CheckinService with Intent

    - by AndyRoid
I'm trying to build a Google map application but keep receiving this in my LogCat. I have all the permissions and meta-data set in my manifest, but am still dumbfounded by this error. Have looked everywhere on SO for this specific error but found nothing relating to com.google.android.gms.checkin A little bit about my structural hierarchy. MainActivity extends ActionBarActivity with three tabs underneath actionbar. Each tab has it's own fragment. On the gMapFragment I create a GPSTrack object from my GPSTrack class which extends Service and implements LocationListener. The problem is that when I start the application I get this message: I have all my libraries imported properly and I even added the google-play-services.jar into my libs folder. I also installed Google Play Services APKs through CMD onto my emulator. Furthermore the LocationManager lm = = (LocationManager) mContext.getSystemService(LOCATION_SERVICE); in my GPSTrack class always returns null. Why is this and how can I fix these issues? Would appreciate an explanation along with solution too, I want to understand what's going on here. ============== Code: gMapFragment.java public class gMapFragment extends SupportMapFragment { private final String TAG = "gMapFragment"; • android: start an intent into a framelayout

    - by user329692
    Hi guys! I have a main activity with this layout file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Button android:id="@+id/btn_reload" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Reload" /> <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/LinearLayout01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:gravity="center_vertical|center_horizontal" > <ImageView android:id="@+id/ImageView01" android:src="@drawable/logo_head" android:scaleType="fitStart" android:adjustViewBounds="true" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" /> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout> <FrameLayout android:id="@+id/center" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_weight="1"> </FrameLayout> <LinearLayout android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:gravity="center" android:id="@+id/footer" android:layout_weight="2.6" android:background="#ffffff"> </LinearLayout> Basically it is composed by an header, a central part (android:id="@+id/center") and a footer. The footer contains four buttons, created dinamically. At the end it looks like a TabWidget with the tabs at the botton. Each footer's buttons holds an Intent/activity. The question is: How can i start my activity into the FrameLayout? For instance TabHost does this: ..... spec = tabHost .newTabSpec(tabTitle.toLowerCase()) .setIndicator(tabTitle,res.getDrawable(R.drawable.tab_spec)) .setContent(intent); tabHost.addTab(spec); ....

  • ASP.NET MVC2: Client-side validation not working with Start.js

    - by Shaggy13spe
Ok, this is strange. I would hope it's something I'm doing wrong and not that MS has two technologies that simply don't work together. (UPDATE: See bottom of post for Script tag order in HEAD section) I'm trying to use the dataView template and client-side validation. If I include a reference to: <script src="http://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/beta/0911/Start.js" type="text/javascript"></script> by itself, the dataview template works fine. but if I put in the following references: <script src="http://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/jquery.validate/1.7/jquery.validate.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="../../Scripts/MicrosoftAjax.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="../../Scripts/MicrosoftMvcAjax.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="../../Scripts/MicrosoftMvcValidation.js" type="text/javascript"></script> then I get the following error: > Error: Type._registerScript is not a > function Source File: > http://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/beta/0911/MicrosoftAjaxTemplates.js > Line: 1 and: > Error: Sys.get("$listings") is null > Source File: > http://localhost:12370/Listings Line: > 76 Here's the code calling the dataview: $(document).ready(function () { LoadMap(); Sys.require([Sys.components.dataView, Sys.scripts.jQuery], function() { $("#listings").dataView(); Sys.get("$listings").set_data(listings.Data); updateMap(listings.Data); }); }); I would really appreciate any help with this one. Thanks! UPDATE: I've tried moving around the order of the last 4 script tags, but to no avail.

  • Shellcode for a simple stack overflow doesn't start a shell

    - by henning
Hi, I played around with buffer overflows on Linux (amd64) and tried exploiting a simple program, but it failed. I disabled the security features (address space layout randomization with sysctl -w kernel.randomize_va_space=0 and nx bit in the bios). It jumps to the stack and executes the shellcode, but it doesn't start a shell. Seems like the execve syscall fails. Any idea what's wrong? Running the shellcode standalone works just fine. Bonus question: Why do I need to set rax to zero before calling printf? • Weblogic EJB calls start to fail under moderate load with OptionalDataException

    - by MarkoU
Our system setup consists of two Weblogic 10.3 servers: one hosts the presentation layer and the other hosts the EJBs. The system runs fine under moderate load for some time (one to several days) after which EJB method calls from the presentation server to the EJB server start to fail with the following error: java.rmi.RemoteException: java.rmi.UnmarshalException: error unmarshalling arguments; nested exception is: java.io.OptionalDataException Stack trace: java.io.OptionalDataException at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readObject0(ObjectInputStream.java:1349) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readObject(ObjectInputStream.java:351) at weblogic.utils.io.ChunkedObjectInputStream.readObject(ChunkedObjectInputStream.java:197) at weblogic.rjvm.MsgAbbrevInputStream.readObject(MsgAbbrevInputStream.java:564) at weblogic.utils.io.ChunkedObjectInputStream.readObject(ChunkedObjectInputStream.java:193) at weblogic.jndi.internal.RootNamingNode_WLSkel.invoke(Unknown Source) at weblogic.rmi.internal.BasicServerRef.invoke(BasicServerRef.java:589) at weblogic.rmi.cluster.ClusterableServerRef.invoke(ClusterableServerRef.java:230) at weblogic.rmi.internal.BasicServerRef$1.run(BasicServerRef.java:477) at weblogic.security.acl.internal.AuthenticatedSubject.doAs(AuthenticatedSubject.java:363) at weblogic.security.service.SecurityManager.runAs(Unknown Source) at weblogic.rmi.internal.BasicServerRef.handleRequest(BasicServerRef.java:473) at weblogic.rmi.internal.wls.WLSExecuteRequest.run(WLSExecuteRequest.java:118) Once the first OptionalDataException is encountered all subsequent calls fail with the same result. Some sources suggest that this might be related to cluster multicast port being misconfigured. However, these servers do not belong to a cluster. Booting the EJB server always temporarily resolves the issue, but the issue seems to occur again after some time. Any ideas?

I have made an entry in the gemfile as gem "authlogic-connect", :require => "authlogic-connect", :path => "localgems" Now when I run the bundle install, it runs fine. When I try to start the server i get the error Could not find gem 'authlogic-connect (>= 0, runtime)' in source at localgems. Source does not contain any versions of 'authlogic-connect (>= 0, runtime)' Try running `bundle install`. I have placed the unzipped Gem renamed as authlogic-connect in the localgems folder. what is the problem? Here is what I get on using rails plugin install arkidmitra$ rails plugin install git://github.com/viatropos/authlogic-connect.git Usage: rails new APP_PATH [options] Options: [--skip-gemfile] # Don't create a Gemfile -d, [--database=DATABASE] # Preconfigure for selected database (options: mysql/oracle/postgresql/sqlite3/frontbase/ibm_db) # Default: sqlite3 -O, [--skip-active-record] # Skip Active Record files [--dev] # Setup the application with Gemfile pointing to your Rails checkout -J, [--skip-prototype] # Skip Prototype files -T, [--skip-test-unit] # Skip Test::Unit files -G, [--skip-git] # Skip Git ignores and keeps -r, [--ruby=PATH] # Path to the Ruby binary of your choice # Default: /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/bin/ruby -m, [--template=TEMPLATE] # Path to an application template (can be a filesystem path or URL) -b, [--builder=BUILDER] # Path to an application builder (can be a filesystem path or URL) [--edge] # Setup the application with Gemfile pointing to Rails repository Runtime options: -q, [--quiet] # Supress status output -s, [--skip] # Skip files that already exist -f, [--force] # Overwrite files that already exist -p, [--pretend] # Run but do not make any changes Rails options: -h, [--help] # Show this help message and quit -v, [--version] # Show Rails version number and quit Description: The 'rails new' command creates a new Rails application with a default directory structure and configuration at the path you specify.
