  • Links on SharePoint 2010 Master Page not changed based on Alternate Access Mappings

    We are creating a custom branded Master Page in SharePoint 2010. To make the page similar to a legacy page we have implemented an html based custom dropdown navigation menu we had in place directly on the Master Page (consisted of basic HTML elements ULs and LIs with A tags styled with a CSS class). I assumed the links from the basic HTML on the page would be subject to Alternate Access Mappings currently in place, but it seems to not be the case. On a test page opened in 3 different URLs (http://sharepoint2010, http://sharepoint2010.mydomain.com, https://sharepoint2010.mydomain.com) the links from a WIKI page are modified as I expected, but the links from the Custom Navigation Menu (plain HTML on the Master Page) are not modified. I can see where that would be useful... But is there a way that I can add links on the MasterPage in a way that SharePoint parses them first, making them subject to Alternate Access Mapping translation? I tried placing a link inside a SPLinkButton control, but it didn't achieve the desired behavior. e.g. <ul id="navmenu"> <li><SharePoint:SPLinkButton runat="server" NavigateUrl="http://sharepoint2010">sharepoint link</SharePoint:SPLinkButton></li> <li><a href="http://sharepoint2010">sharepoint2010</a></li> <li>test</li> </ul> When I access the page via https://sharepoint2010.mydomain.com the links above are still http://sharepoint2010 rather than https://sharepoint2010.mydomain.com Any thoughts?     Hey guys, I have a slight problem... we made a change to our url structure the other day and have broken links all over. What I did was change links from: http://blog.mydomain.com/articles/123 To: http://blog.mydomain.com/articles/this-is-a-smaple Is there anyway to direct any links linking to the pages ID number to the postname???? The old url structure is still being published throughout our RSS feed on facebook. So I am trying to catch those people that are or maybe clicking on our links on our facebook posts and redirect them to that posts postname url? Does that make sense? Thanks and help would do

  • Immutable hard links on ext3/4?

    In my research on file versioning at the fs level, snapshotting, and related ideas, I took a look at hard-links and exactly what they are and how they behave. Using rsync you can get a pretty slick poor man's snapshotting system up and running on file systems that don't natively support it. But, can you get immutable hard links on ext3/4 or any other file systems for that matter? My definition for immutable hard link is: A hard link which, when changed on one location, becomes a regular copy and no longer a hard link. I would like this because it would enable snapshotting use of the source data to link against instead of a copy of the data (in the case of the rsync snapshotting technique). I have gigabytes of data that can't be duplicated due to space restrictions but I have enough room if I can intelligently snapshot individual changed files with the rest linked to the source not a copy. Given all that, is there some other technique, feature or technology I'm really looking for?

  • System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser login dialog doesn't appear

    When I navigate to an intranet site requiring windows authentication, the WinForms WebBrowser control isn't displaying a login dialog. But it will display (after refreshing the page) if I first open Internet Explorer and view the same page. Also, if I make the URL refer to my local IIS instance, the login dialog will appear. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Symbolic links and 7zip

    I'm trying to compress a folder into a .7z archive. This folder contains symbolic links to some other stuff outside the folder (both directories and files). Apparently 7zip just archives the link it's self which is not what I intended. Is there a way to tell 7zip that I want it to archive the stuff that it links too, not the link its self (so if there is a symlink name "foo" which points to "C:\stuff\foo" I want it to include the "C:\stuff\foo" stuff in the archive in place of foo, not a "0 byte" symlink... Failing that is there any reasonable around it, apart from adding the files and folders in question? Including the stuff through the symlink there's like 10 000 files, the large proportion of which are via symlinks so adding them all individually would take hours... I'm thinking mayby a program that creates a staging folder with the real files in it then passes that to 7zip, or just an archiver that does handle them better?

  • Jquery galleria - make the first image in the gallery appear automatically

    I've added the excellent galleria-plugin to a website I'm working on. However unlike the demo, I've been unable to make the first image display automatically on page-load. Currently, you have to click an image, before one will appear, after that everything works as expected. And yes, I've tried setting the class of the first image to "active", but without that having any effect. Is there anything obvious I'm missing ?   • New LAMP server, all links redirecting to localhost

    I've got a very frustrating issue with what should be a bespoke install of Ubuntu 12.04, the LAMP config provided in apt-get install lamp-server^, and a web application called The Fascinator. After installing those three things and making no changes to any of them, I can access the application through a public IP (http://lib-hf1.lib.sfu.ca:9997 for the curious), but the domain of every link within that page is changed to localhost, including links to images and CSS, so nothing loads correctly and all of the links are broken. I've Googled around and found some people who appear to be having this issue with WP and Drupal, but nothing makes reference to a system-wide setting, and no one using the Fascinator seems to be having this issue. I have a faint memory that this might have something to do with mod_rewrite, but I'm pretty well stumped.

    I am setting the DocumentText property to an HTML string that contains links like: <a href="file:///D:/dir/file.html">NewPage</a> The links are shown properly in the WebBrowser, but nothing happens when I click them. The Navigating, Navigated and DocumentComplete events do not fire - nothing seems to happen at all. AllowNavigation is true and other links using HTTP are working. Any ideas please? Nick

  • problem with pagestate when two links in aspx page

    I have two links in my aspx page. one link "A" when i click it ...it is downloading some document when i click it other link "B" when I click it ....it redirects me to some other page. Both links triggers function from code behind. Both links works fine when i first come onto page but when i click A it shows me message to download it "open" "save" "cancel" problem is when i click cancel I remain on the same page but now no links work neither link A nor link B. I guess there is some problem with the state my page is in . How i can avoid this?   • My site not directing links correctly.

    I have a site at http://badassmonkeys.com/ and when i click any of the links it does not direct it to the actual page but still pulls up the link. For some reason it works perfectly on linux cpanel and actually loads the pages, but on windows in apache, or in IIS even with a rewrite mod for it, it just doesnt work. The links dont go correctly. Is it a php.ini setting? This is my htaccess file if curious, but it works perfect in linux, but not on windows....   • Error when restoring SSAS cube: MemberKeyesUnique element at line xxx cannot appear under (...)/Hier

    Hi, I'm getting this error when trying to restore an SSAS database from a backup: The ddl2:MemberKeysUnique element at line 63, column 4862 (namespace http://schemas.microsoft.com/analysisservices/2003/engine/2) cannot appear under Load/ObjectDefinition/Dimension/Hierarchies/Hierarchy. Google hasn't turned up any helpful solutions. (a lot of people found that installing SP2 made the error go away but this has always previously worked in our environment) I don't really understand what the error means. Can somebody interpret or suggest a fix? Thanks, Phil

    I have One Server (Srv1) which holds data with file shares and the storage is full. Now I have second Server (Srv2) which has alot more space. No I would like to transfer all the data von Serv1 to Serv2 and have links to the new destination. I found mklink very useful here but unfortunately it does not work over the network. Which also points the docu out. People heavily rely on the path's so it would be helpful if somone has a pointer for me... how to handle symbolic links a cross the network with Windows Servers.   • How should I handle multiple links ot the same page with different Query Strings

    In the website I am working on, there is a product page with 8 tabs on it, showing different aspects of the product. There are quick links on other pages within the site that take you to the page and to a specific link specified by a query string. For example the base page would be www.example.com/Product1. And then there are links like this: www.example.com/Product1?tab=CADDrawing www.example.com/Product1?tab=Schematics www.example.com/Product1?tab=Reviews My concern is that Google sees each of these links as a different URL but they aren't and the data on the page is 100% the same. Is there any easy way to make it so Google either knows that www.example.com/Product1 is the base page or doesn't follow the links with Query Strings? I thought about using rel="nofollow" but that seems like it would actually hurt my page ranking. Most of the websites, including Googles on webmaster pages, is unclear. The other option is to add the rel="canonical" to the pages that have a query string but not to the base page. Does that succeed in stopping all of the noisy links?
