• Add Zend_Navigation to the View with old legacy bootstrap

  Hi, I've been struggling with Zend_Navigation all weekend, and now I have another problem, which I believe has been the cause of a lot of my issues. I am trying to add Zend_Navigation to a legacy 1.7.6 Zend Framework application, i've updated the Zend Library to 1.9.0 and updated the bootstrap to allow this library update. The problem is that I don't know how, and the examples show the new bootstrap method of how to add the Navigation object to the view, I've tried this: //initialise the application layouts with the MVC helpers $layout = Zend_Layout::startMvc(array('layoutPath' => '../application/layouts')); $view = $layout->getView(); $configNav = new Zend_Config_Xml('../application/config/navigation.xml', 'navigation'); $navigation = new Zend_Navigation($configNav); $view->navigation($navigation); $viewRenderer = new Zend_Controller_Action_Helper_ViewRenderer(); $viewRenderer->setView($view); This seems to run through fine, but when I go to use the breadcrumb view helper in my layout, it errors with: Strict Standards: Creating default object from empty value in C:\www\moobia\development\website\application\modules\employers\controllers\IndexController.php on line 27 This is caused by the following code in the init() function of my controller. $uri = $this->_request->getPathInfo(); $activeNav = $this->view->navigation()->findByUri($uri); <- this is null when called $activeNav->active = true; I believe it's because the Zend_Navigation object is not in the view. I would look at migrating the bootstrap to the current method, but at present I am running out of time for a release. Thanks, Grant

• ZF2 - ServiceManager injecting into 84 tables... tedious

  I originally made another thread about this a couple of months ago in regards to ZF2 injecting into tables with DI during Beta 1 and figured back then that it wasn't really possible. Now ZF2 has been released as version 2.0.0 and ServiceManager is defaulted to instead of DI I guess I have the same question now I'm refactoring. • No internet connection using Edimax routers

  I have two computers connected to a router, connected to my ADSL modem by PPPoE. One of those computrs use Windows XP, the other uses Windows 7. The computer using Windows 7 keeps getting limited or no connectivity, and I can't use it to connect to the internet. Connecting the computer to the modem without the router 'in the way' worked, and I was able to use the internet - which led me to believe that the problem is with my router. However, I have changed my router, and the problem persists. I am really lost on how to approach this problem. Possible leads: when I view the network information, I see that my computer is connected to 'Multiple Networks'. One of those is "Network 4" (probably my router), and the other is Unidentified network. I don't know how to make the "Unidentified Network" disappear, or why is it even there in the first place. When I try using "ipconfig", I have two default gateway IPs. The first is 0.0.0.0, and the second is the IP of my router (192.168.2.1). The first router was Edimax BR-6204Wg. The second one I've tried connecting is BR-6424n. Any ideas?

• Why is my Network Connections list empty?

  I'm sure this question has been asked before, but none of the links I have found have worked. I've been trying to find fixes for the past couple of weeks. This all started a few days after I got my router. At first, I thought it was just something that would fix it self. But as usual, it never does. I am trying to update my router's wireless card to try and fix this problem, but I need to get the card's information to update it on the HP website. And since my Network Connections list is empty, I can't get any information about it. So to get around this, I tried to go to 'Manage Wireless Networks', and when I tried to get the properties from there, I get this error: Windows has encounter an error saving the wireless profile. Specific Error: The data is invalid. So, what all can I do to try and fix this? Any help will be appreciated. EDIT: Sorry, forgot to put router info. Router Model: WNR1000v2-V2 Router Maker: NETGEAR Router Firmware Version: V1.0.0.12NA The router is up-to-date on all updates.

• Programmer configuring a new network

  I'm in the process of expanding my home network from a couple of laptops on a wireless Verizon FiOS router to include: Linksys 24-port switch Cisco Pix 515 Cisco 3640 router One new development desktop and three new machines to act as a db server, web server and a backup system. My company is moving offices and we've decommissioned some older hardware, which I was able to pick up for the cost of the labor to move it home from the office. The benefits to working with dedicated web and db servers are very valuable to me. I know very little about network topology, other than that everything plugs into the switch, which then plugs into the cheap Verizon router. (Verizon provides a coax connection that the router must translate into Ethernet before I can use it with any of this equipment). Questions: What is the recommended topology for this equipment? Verizon router - Pix - 3600 - switch? Is the 3600 even necessary or desirable? The Verizon router has one WAN port and 4 client ports, all 10/100. Is there any performance benefit at all to wiring multiple connections from the verizon router to the switch, assuming I don't use the Pix? Should I use the Pix? Software firewalls are a pain, and seem silly if I have a device like this lying around. Anything else I should know? Am I wasting my time with this? I also obtained a 7 foot rack, shelves, patch panels, UPS, patch panels, etc, which are going into a conveniently air conditioned closet. All constructive advice appreciated.

• SSH not working through Double NAT

  I am trying to setup port forwarding for ssh through 2 NATs The first Router translates my internet IP to my outer network (10.1.7.0). In the outer network there's a second Router that does NAT to my inner network (192.168.1.0). The target server is connected to both, the outer network and the inner network. I cannot change the port forwarding options for outer router. It is currently configured to forward the SSH and HTTP port to the router for the inner network. When connecting from the internet to my public ip with HTTP, the connection works fine as well. However SSH just times out. Most likely because the reply is not routed back properly. I suspect its either because of the SSH itself, or because the server is connected to both, the inner and outer network. Any ideas how I could resolve this issue? The routes on the server are currently: ip route show default via 10.1.7.254 dev eth0 metric 100 10.1.7.0/24 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 10.1.7.1 192.168.1.0/24 dev eth1 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.1.2 Do I have to change this? If so how?

• Juju Openstack bundle: Can't launch an instance

  Deployed bundle:~makyo/openstack/2/openstack, on top of 7 physical boxes and 3 virtual ones. After changing vip_iface strings to point to right devices, e.g., br0 instead of eth0, and defining "/mnt/loopback|30G", in Cinder's block-device string, am able to navigate through openstack dashboard, error free. • processing of Group Policy failed only on 2008 Servers and Name Resolution failure on the current domain controller

  Spent last 3 months doing a upgrade from 2003 domain to a 2008R2 domain. our last DC was rebuilt (5 total) and brought up on line. After it was put on line we have some 2008 and 2008R2 servers (10 now) getting these errors in the event logs. ERRORS Description: The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not resolve the user name. This could be caused by one of more of the following: a) Name Resolution failure on the current domain controller. b) Active Directory Replication Latency (an account created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller).\ Can duplicate this if we drop to command prompt and run GPUPDATE manually When our users attempt to do a \directory\shared access to shared drive on an affected server get this error.– “THERE ARE CURRETLY NO LOGON SERVER AVAIALBE TO SERICE THE LOGON REQUEST. This is only affecting the 2008 OS and it is a random set of abotu 10 servers out of some 30 with this OS. The Services on the machines are running Ok and login. Able to log in with domain/user to the consoles and via RDP. WE can log onto an affected machine, and can get to the \domainname\sysvol and can see the GPO's Have checked the replication topology of the domain and it states all servers can replicate with no errrors. We went back to the last DC, demoted it, removed DNS and then removed it from the domain and waited 24 hours and issue still persist. Picked one server, removed it from domain, reboooted, and added back to domain with no problems, but still has this behavior. bottom line is we have some servers that the domain will not let any UDP/client server apps or GPO's process ,but the tcp related items seeme to work fine, http, tcp calls, sql and oracle dbs's connect and process. Any inputs on some possible reasons for this issue and fixes. It is only affecting the 2008 servers on a 2008R2 domain.

  I'm trying to have ZF2 installed for all my subdomains at once (Ubuntu 12.04). ZF2 just launched its first stable version, so I wanted to install it on my development server and finally get my hands dirty with it. I downloaded ZF2 and unzipped the files in /var/ZF2/ (which now contains Zend/[all components]). I then edited /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini and added the path to the ZF2 files: include_path = ".:/var/ZF2" I then downloaded the ZendSkeletonApplication and unzipped it in /var/www/skeleton. I know it is suggested to composer.phar to install ZF2 application, but: I don't want to make a local installation of ZF2... I want to make a server-wide installation be able to use my Zend components on all my domains/subdomains on my development server. Before using any automatic installation process, I'd really like to understand that process by doing it manually at first. Obviously, something goes wrong when I fire ZendSkeletonApplication, and I get the following when hit the following URL: http://www.myDevServer.com/skeleton/public/ Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'RuntimeException' with message 'Unable to load ZF2. Though there are several ways to achieve this, your PHP include_path needs to contain the path to Zend Framework’s library. Just setting up ZF2_PATH in httpd.conf was all that was needed. SetEnv ZF2_PATH /var/ZF2 I also removed the include_path reference in php.ini and everything works just fine. So I have no idea why Zend suggested to include it there in their official docs.

• Algorithm for tracking progress of controller method running in background

  I am using Codeigniter framework for PHP on Windows platform. My problem is I am trying to track progress of a controller method running in background. The controller extracts data from the database(MySQL) then does some processing and then stores the results again in the database. The complete aforesaid process can be considered as a single task. A new task can be assigned while another task is running. The newly assigned task will be added in a queue. So if I can track progress of the controller, I can show status for each of these tasks. Like I can show "Pending" status for tasks in the queue, "In Progress" for tasks running and "Done" for tasks that are completed. Main Issue: Now first thing I need to find is an algorithm to track the progress of how much amount of execution the controller method has completed and that means tracking how much amount of method has completed execution. For instance, this PHP script tracks progress of array being counted. Here the current state and state after total execution are known so it is possible to track its progress. But I am not able to devise anything analogous to it in my case. Maybe what I am trying to achieve is programmtically not possible. If its not possible then suggest me a workaround or a completely new approach. If some details are pending you can mention them. Sorry for my ignorance this is my first post here. I welcome you to point out my mistakes. EDIT: Database outline: The URL(s) and keyword(s) are first entered by user which are stored in a database table called link_master and keyword_master respectively. Then keywords are extracted from all the links present in this table and compared with keywords entered by user and their frequency is calculated which is the final result. And the results are stored in another table called link_result. Now sub-links are extracted from the domain links and stored in a table called sub_link_master. Now again the keywords are extracted from these sub-links and the corresponding results are stored in a table called sub_link_result. The number of records cannot be defined beforehand as the number of links on any web page can be different. Only the cardinality of *link_result* table can be known which will be equal to multiplication of number of keyword(s) and URL(s) . I insert multiple records at a time using this resource. Controller outline: The controller extracts keywords from a web page and also extracts keywords from all the links present on that page. There is a method called crawlLink. I used Rolling Curl to extract keywords and web page content. It has callback function which I used for extracting keywords alongwith generating results and extracting valid sub-links. There is a insertResult method which stores results for links and sub-links in the respective tables. Yes, the processing depends on the number of records. The more the number of records, the more time it takes to execute: Consider this scenario: Number of Domain Links = 1 Number of Keywords = 3 Number of Domain Links Result generated = 3 (3 x 1 as described in the question) Number of Sub Links generated = 41 Number of Sub Links Result = 117 (41 x 3 = 123 but some links are not valid or searchable) Approximate time taken for above process to complete = 55 seconds. The above result is for a single link. I want to track the progress of the above results getting stored in database. When all results are stored, the task is complete. If results are getting stored, the task is In Progress. I am not clear how can I track this progress.

  Ok, this is an odd one and I can reproduce it with a new project easily. Here is the setup: I have a UISplitViewController. In the left side I have a UITabBarController. In this tab bar controller I have two UINavigationControllers. In the navigation controllers I have UITableViewControllers. These table views have search bars on them. Ok, what happens with this setup is that if I'm in portrait mode and bring up this view in the popover and I start a search in one of the table views and cancel it, the navigation bar becomes unresponsive. That is, the "back" button as well as the right side button cannot be clicked. If I do the exact same thing in landscape mode so we are not in a popover, this doesn't happen. The navigation bar stays responsive. So, the problem only seems to happen inside a popover. I've also noticed that if I do the search but click on an item in the search results which ends up loading something into the "detail view" of the split view and dismissing the popover, and then come back to the popover and then click the Cancel button for the search, the navigation bar is responsive. My application is a universal app and uses the same tab bar controller in the iPhone interface and it works there without this issue. As I mentioned above, I can easily reproduce this with a new project. Here are the steps if you want to try it out yourself: start new project - split view create new UITableViewController class (i named TableViewController) uncomment out the viewDidLoad method as well as the rightBarButtonItem line in viewDidLoad (so we will have an Edit button in the navigation bar) enter any values you want to return from numberOfSectioinsInTableView and numberOfRowsInSection methods open MainWindow.xib and do the following: please note that you will need to be viewing the xib in the middle "view mode" so you can expand the contents of the items drag a Tab Bar Controller into the xib to replace the Navigation Controller item drag a Navigation Controller into the xib as another item under the Tab Bar Controller delete the other two view controllers that are under the Tab Bar Controller (so, now our tab bar has just the one navigation controller on it) inside the navigation controller, drag in a Table View Controller and use it to replace the View Controller (Root View Controller) change the class of the new Table View Controller to the class created above (TableViewController for me) double-click on the Table View under the new Table View Controller to open it up (will be displayed in the tab bar inside the split view controller) drag a "Search Bar and Search Display" onto the table view save the xib run the project in simulator while in portrait mode, click on the Root List button to bring up popover notice the Edit button is clickable click in the Search box - we go into search mode click the Cancel button to exit search mode notice the Edit button no longer works So, can anyone help me figure out why this is happening? • zend_acl: Adding extra resources dynamically and getting a param predispatch

  First sorry about the woffle as I'm not sure how best to describe this. Basically I am not sure how I can get param in the bootstrap before the controller is loaded, but here is the long winded version... I have got an acl class storing all my default resources in. All my page/post content is a database and I want the admin the ability to choose who which role the page would become available. I know it is possible just to loop through the database table and add them all in at once, but I am concerned that this is a drain on resources. I have it working whereby my access check plugin can call a dynamic permission function, but I need to get the parameter of the current page ID and it's permission to set it before the controller is loaded. Does that make sense or am I worry over nothing and I should just get the resources of all the pages at once? thanks in advance for reading my garble!!

• How do I call the methods in a model via controller? Zend Framework

  Hi guys, I've been searching for tutorials to better understand this, but I'm having no luck. Please forgive the lengthy explination, but I want make sure I explain myself well. First, I'm quite new to the MVC structure, though I have been doing tutorials and learning as best I can. I have been moving over a live site into the Zend Framework model. So far, I have all the views within views/scripts/index/example.phtml. So therefore I'm using one IndexController and I have the code in each Action method for each page: IE public function exampleAction() Because I didn't know how to interact with a model, I put all the methods at the bottom of the controller (a fat controller). So basically, I had a working site by using a View and Controller and no model. ... Now I'm trying to learn how to incorporate the Model. So I created a View at: view/scripts/calendar/index.phtml I created a new Controller at: controller/CalendarControllers.php and a new model at: model/Calendar.php The problem is I think I'm not correctly communication with the model (I'm still new to OOP). Can you look over my controller and model and tell me if you see a problem. I'm needing to return an array from runCalendarScript(), but I'm not sure if I can return an array into the object like I'm trying to? I don't really understand how to "run" the runCalendarScript() from the controller? Thanks for any help! • Layer 3 switch routing

  I need help moving over to using our layer 3 switch as the inter vlan routing device rather than our cisco router. I've mostly got it working but I've got stuck near the end and need some advice (I think I just need a bit of education on the subject really). Cur I have a Dell PowerConnect 7048 connecting to a Cisco 1841 router. I've got a few key excerpts from the configs to provide the key information. So what I'm doing is moving clients over so that their default gateway is a 172.31.x.254 address rather than a 172.31.x.1 address. This works great for inter-vlan routing, I have no issues with this. The switch can also access the router no worries, and users on the 172.31.14.0/24 network can access all interfaces and sub-interfaces on the router, including 172.31.14.1. They can also access all of the interfaces that the router connects off to, no worries there. The problem I have is that users on the 172.31.16.0/24 and 172.31.19.0/24 subnets cannot access either 172.31.14.1 or any of the subnets the router connects to. They can, however, connect to BOTH of the sub interfaces on the router from either subnet. What am I missing here? Why can't the vlans connect to the non-sub interface on the router? Are tagged packets being sent to this interface?

• My network drive disappears from Mac OS Finder

  I have recently bought a Netgear WNDR3800 router to use it in my home network. But just the same day I installed it, I noticed a strange behaviour of Finder and iTunes. Let me explain it further. There is a Synology DS111 NAS attached to that router and two Macs with Mac OS X Lion. One of them is connected by a cable and the second one wirelessly. Before I changed my router to the new one I mentioned above, Finder always used to display my NAS on its sidebar. So I could just click its network name to access shared folders existing on it. But after I installed WNDR3800, I can no longer access the NAS that way. It is no longer displayed. I always have to mount it manually by typing its IP address using the Finder's 'connect to server' option. The same NAS supports TimeMachine backups and has an inbuilt DLNA server. And the same situation here. I can't perform a backup because my NAS is no longer accessible in TimeMachine preferences. iTunes does not display it as well (as a multimedia server) even though it used to before I installed that router. What's important, everything works fine for a couple of minutes after I restart the router or the NAS. Or even when I change the NAS's IP address it becomes accessible again in Finder, TimeMachine and iTunes, but only for some time. Both the Mac computers I mentioned behave the same way. And all those issues have been taking place sice I installed that new router. Before I did that, everything had worked fine. My old router was Netgear WGR614v10. Would you be so kind to tell me what you think could possibly be the reason of that behaviour? What settings of the router should I look closer at? I'm not a network specialist, but is it possible that some network packets are blocked for some reason? I will be grateful for any clues you give me. Thank you.

• Robocopy to a drive connected to a wlan router fails

  I have a wireless router and an USB hard drive connected to it. Basic file access on the command line and Explorer works flawlessly after having set up some options on the router and mapping to some folders with net use k: \\ROUTER\Folder1 /user:MYLAPTOP\Me password /persistent:yes net use n: \\ROUTER\Folder2 /user:MYLAPTOP\Me password /persistent:yes Robocopy (and using SyncToy for that matter) to a network drive however fails: robocopy c:\Files k:\Backup /MIR /Z gives There is not enough space on the disk. 2010/01/05 09:52:11 ERROR 112 (0x00000070) Accessing Destination Directory N:\ Waiting 30 seconds... The error message is misleading: there is plenty of space on the disk and the folders I'm copying are small. The router is an ASUS WL-500gp with a standard firmware. I'd appreciate if someone would be able to explain what is causing the problem and, if possible, how to fix it.

• Trouble opening my router to my web server [closed]

  Here's the story. I have a webs server created and connected to my router. The website works great when I'm connected to the router, but when I'm off the network I can't access the website. I got the IP for my router by googling "what is my ip." I have opened ports 80 to 10080 to link to the server in the router. THe firewall is off. I can ping the router. One odd thing that I don't understand. When I am in network if I access XXX.XXX.XX.XX:80 I can access the web page no problem. If I access XXX.XXX.XX.XX:81 (or any other port) I get the error "Cannot access server." Any idea what the problem could be? Could it be my ISP?
