• UISplitViewController. Can we hide/show the master view?

  I would like to use a UISplitViewController in a slightly different way then is common. Because my iPad app is fullscreen app I would like the ability to hide/show the master view when in landscape mode. Portrait view is not an issue since the master view transforms into a popover which can be hidden via the toolbar button. Is there a method on UISplitViewController that will nicely hide the master view and expand the detail view? Any insight would be most appreciated. Cheers. Thanks, Doug

• Visual Studio 2012 crashes everytime I try to debug with error CLR20r3

  Everytime I try to debug one of my apps I get the below error message. Anyone have any ideas? I tried running Visual Studio in safe mode but I get the same thing. I also tried to repair the install and completely reinstall it with no luck :(. • TeamCity error: svn: connection refused by the server

  We have a Continuous Integration environment setup with TeamCity and subversion. TeamCity gets the latest source from svn and does a build (Visual Studio) on every commit. Sometimes we get the following TeamCity error when the build runs. Doing a couple of force builds gets TeamCity running succesfully. • Help With Proxy Username & Pass with GeckoFX??!!

  Hello, I am trying to set the proxy username and password. I saw this posting (http://geckofx.org/viewtopic.php?id=832) and I thought it might be a similar setting for the username/password, such as : Skybound.Gecko.GeckoPreferences.User["network.proxy.user"] = (user); Skybound.Gecko.GeckoPreferences.User["network.proxy.password"] = (password); But, nothing has worked so far. Can anyone help? I would really appreciate it!!! I am using VB.net if that helps. Thanks!!

  I just upgraded to m2eclipse version 0.10 which includes an embedded Maven 3 and I'm now getting the following error when trying to run a build. I've already set Maven-Installations to my Maven 2 installation, but it had no effect. How do I resolve this? [INFO] Scanning for projects... • iPhone and HTML5 Cache Manifest

  I am trying to build an iPhone web application using ASP.NET. The page is dynamically rendered once for each visitor. At this point the page can be bookmarked and it will never change again for that visitor. For this reason it should be cached locally from that point on so the application will run if referenced from the bookmark even if no network connection is available. No matter what I try the phone continues to request the page from the server forcing a re-render or it fails if the phone is offline. Louis Gerbarg suggested in this post that I use HTML5 Cache Manifest to get this working however following the w3.org docs does not appear to work for the iPhone. Does anyone have a good example where application cache is working?

When I remove the link line from the HTML doc for site_header.css and instead use an @import url("/css/site_header.css"); in my main.css file, the same results -- nothing gets rendered for for the same div. Now when I take the CSS markup from site_header.css and add it to main.css, the div gets rendered fine... So I am wondering if having multiple css files is somehow not working... or maybe having that css markup at the end of my previous css is somehow conflicting, though I cannot find a reason why it would.

  I am experimenting with the new Safari 5 extensions JS API and I am having an issue right from the ground up, I want to use an XMLHttpRequest to get an RSS feed from a website however upon the .send() it immediatly kicks off errors: Failed to load resource: cancelled Then looking at the XMLHttpRequest object is says in status: Error: INVALID_STATE_ERR: DOM Exception 11 I don't know why but this is my code, I hope I can get some advice as to whats going wrong: var xml = new XMLHttpRequest(); xml.open('GET', 'http://year3.gdnm.org/feed/'); xml.send(); Thanks in advance.

• Error when connecting to AS400 (ISeries)

  I'm trying to connect to a AS400 server using the .net classes. I have added a reference to IBM.Data.DB.iSeries and I use the following code: var conn = new iDB2Connection("DataSource=111.111.111.111;UserID=xxx;Password=xxx; DataCompression=True;"); conn.Open(); But I get the following exceptions Running 64 bit: "The provider cannot run in 64-bit mode." Running 32 bit: An unexpected exception occurred. Type: System.DllNotFoundException, Message: Unable to load DLL 'cwbdc.dll': The operating system cannot run . (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700B6). I have uninstalled the Client Access and installed it again. The cwbdc.dll does exist in the system32 and syswow64 . I have no problem connecting to the AS400 if I use odbc. I'm running a 64 bit verion of Windows 7. Any ideas? /Jimmy

• Installing PIL (Python Imaging Library) in Win7 64 bits, Python 2.6.4

  I'm trying to install said library for use with Python. I tried downloading the executable installer for Windows, which runs, but says it doesn't find a Python installation. Then tried registering (http://effbot.org/zone/python-register.htm) Python, but the script says it can't register (although the keys appear in my register). • Multiselect combobox with ExtJs

  How do you implement a multiselect combobox as part of a Ext.FormPanel using ExtJs? I've been looking, but can't seem to find a solution that is compatible with the latest version of ExtJs (this question is similar, but doesn't have a working/current solution). This is what I have so far, but it's a single select: new Ext.FormPanel({ labelAlign: 'top', frame: true, width: 800, items: [{ layout: 'column', items:[{ columnWidth: 1, layout: 'form', items: [{ xtype: 'combo', fieldLabel: 'Countries', name: 'c[]', anchor: '95%', allowBlank: false, typeAhead: true, triggerAction: 'all', lazyRender: true, mode: 'local', store: new Ext.data.ArrayStore({ id: 0, fields: ['myId', 'displayText'], data: [ ["CA", 'Canada'], ["US", 'United States'], ["JP", 'Japan'], ] }), valueField: 'myId', displayField: 'displayText' }] }] }] }).render(document.body); I didn't see any parameters in the documentation that suggests that this is supported. • Using WCF DLL with VB6 ?

  I have a VB6 application that needs to communicate with a VS2008 VB.NET WCF server. I have built a VB.NET WCF DLL to be used on the client side, and it --almost-- works with the VB6 application. When I try to run the VB6 app in debug mode, I get "Could not find endpoint element with name 'NetTCPBinding_IComPortManager' and contract 'IComPortManager' in the ServiceModel client configuration section." Using a dummy VB.Net client app, with the same WCF DLL works fine. I presume that the VB6 app/WCF DLL is not finding app.config. Where should app.config be ? Is there a way to tell WCF where to find app.config ?

• How to find and fix issue with Pound and HAProxy

  Pound sits in front of HAProxy (on the same box) to perform SSL off-load. Requests are passed to 127.0.0.1:80 where HAProxy then balances the requests across backend servers for a hosted ASP .NET web app. A user is getting HTTP error 500 (Internal Server Error) returned to their browser this morning and I can see it is comming from Pound. They see no log entry in their web app (IIS) server logs, so its not hitting the back end servers. I think the problem is possibly with HAProxy.   Hi, I'm trying to write a master - detail control that consists of a master datagrid and the detail datagrid. My scenario was following - I used the SelectedItem and bound it to a property in ModelView. The problem is - the SelectedItem in ViewModel is never used, so I can't get the information which item is selected in a master datagrid and cannot fetch the data for thos selection.   Hi Everyone, I have problems deploying MVC2 application to my hosting. It shows the following error: Could not load type 'System.Web.Mvc.UrlParameter' from assembly 'System.Web.Mvc, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'. It looks like it does not understand the new "optional URL parameters" feature of MVC2. This is just a simple test application I created with "New Project" wizard in VWD 2008. It works ok localy both in IIS and Visual Studio web servers. MVC1 web sites are working ok on the hosting server. I've contacted the hosting support and they installed MVC2 but the problem still exists. The web site is working in ASP.NET 2.0 integrated pipeline mode. Does anyone know why it is happening? I have added the java project to the android project through the "Project" tab in the Build Path. I have already linked both projects to commons-codec thinking that this might be the problem but am still getting the following error in Eclipse. Both project have no errors. • Getting an ASP.MVC2/VS2010 application to work in IIS 7.5

  I've recently downloaded beta 2 of VS2010 and started playing with ASP.NET MVC2. Initial development was done with Casini, but now I wanted to run the application from IIS 7.5 (I'm running Windows 7). I've installed the IIS6 metabase compatiblity and I run VS2010 as administrator so I can use the "Create Virtual Directory" button from the "Web" tab of the project settings. This created the web application entry in IIS, but it doesn't work. When I go to the main page (http://localhost/MyMvcApp/) I get a HTTP 403 error. When I go directly to one of the sub-pages (http://localhost/MyMvcApp/Home/) I get an HTTP 404. So I guess for some reason the URL routing isn't working. I've already added UrlRouting as a module and a handler to the web.config. In my searches this is offered as a solution for some similair problems. But for me this still doesn't work. • WPF binding ComboBox to enum (with a twist)

  Well the problem is that I have this enum, BUT I don't want the combobox to show the values of the enum. This is the enum: public enum Mode { [Description("Display active only")] Active, [Description("Display selected only")] Selected, [Description("Display active and selected")] ActiveAndSelected } So in the ComboBox instead of displaying Active, Selected or ActiveAndSelected, I want to display the DescriptionProperty for each value of the enum. I do have an extension method called GetDescription() for the enum: public static string GetDescription(this Enum enumObj) { FieldInfo fieldInfo = enumObj.GetType().GetField(enumObj.ToString()); object[] attribArray = fieldInfo.GetCustomAttributes(false); if (attribArray.Length == 0) { return enumObj.ToString(); } else { DescriptionAttribute attrib = attribArray[0] as DescriptionAttribute; return attrib.Description; } } So is there a way I can bind the enum to the ComboBox AND show it's content with the GetDescription extension method?
