  Hi, I have 2 simple, but maybe tricky questions. Let´s say I have assembler instruction: MOV EAX,[ebx+6*7] - what I am curious is, does this instruction really actually translates into opcode as it stands,so computation of code in brackets is encoded into opcode, or is this just pseudo intruction for compiler, not CPU, so that compiler before computes the value in brackets using add mul and so, store outcome in some reg and than uses MOV EAX,reg with computed value? Just to be clear, I know the output will be the same. I am interested in execution. Second is about LEA instruction. I know what it does, but I am more interested wheather its real instruction, so compiles does not further change it, just make it into opcode as it stands, or just pseudo code for compiler to, again, first compute adress and than store it.

  I'm adding unit-tests to an older PHP codebase at work. I will be testing and then rewriting a lot of HTML generation code and currently I'm just testing if the generated strings are identical to the expected string, like so: (using PHPUnit) public function testConntype_select() { $this->assertEquals( '<select><option value="blabla">Some text</option></select>', conntype_select(1); // A value from the test dataset. ); } This way has the downside that attribute ordering, whitespace and a lot of other irrelevant details are tested as well. I'm wondering if there are any better ways to do this. For example if there are any good and easy ways to compare the generated DOM trees. I found very similar questions for ruby, but couldn't find anything for PHP.

  hi, I'm creating a streaming application, using GStreamer with TCP pipeline, and i implemented start, pause, and stop. but the problem is, that i can't seek, i tried to change the playback value from the server side, then i tried on the client side, and Finally tried to change the value on both at the same time, but in all cases it doesn't work. and I even tried to pause the playback then continue but nothing happens. I'm having this problem with the seek and the volume. Any help please, I searched everywhere but i couldn't find anything that worked. this is the code that i use for seeking self.pipeline.seek_simple(gst.FORMAT_TIME, gst.SEEK_FLAG_FLUSH, time)

• Static string variable in Objective C on iphone

  Hi, How to create & access static string in iPhone (objective c)? I declare static NSString *str = @"OldValue" in class A. If i assign some value to this in class B as str = @"NewValue". This value persists for all methods in class B. But if I access it in class C (after assignment in B) I am getting it as OldValue. Am I missing something? Should i use extern in other classes?   I want to copy values from one object to another object. Something similiar to pass by value but with assignment. Eg. PushPin newValPushPin = oldPushPin; //I want to break the reference here. I was told to write a copy constructor for this. But this class has alot of properties, it will probably take an hour to write a copy constructor by hand. Is there a better way to assign an object to another object by value? If not, is there a copy constructor generator?

  I have a text box on a web page, whose value I want to send to a XMLHttpRequest. Now I want the user to just type the value, without pressing a button. But If i just send the request int he keyboard events, it will fire every time a key is pressed. So basically I want something liek this function KeyUpEvent() { if (user is still typing) return; else do processing } It would be great if the solution could come from plain javascript or mootools. I dont want to use any other library.

• jQuery dialog width resizing problem

  I try to load some HTML code into a jQueryUI dialog by AJAX. The code itself is a list, where rightmost elements should be absolutely positioned so that the list looks like a table with two columns, but only in some rows. The problem is that jQueryUI plugin does not seem to be correctly resizing the dialog's width, which I think is due to the absolute positioning of some li's. I have read some answers to other similar questions, but none helped me out with this. • asp.net compare validators to allow comma and dot (both!) as decimal separator

  I am using a compare validator, which validates that the entered number is a valid double and also validates it against a given value (greater than zero). I am validating money amounts. Because of the location where the app is used, the locale sets the comma as the decimal separator. The problem is that when a user enters the value using the numeric keyboard, the number gets written with the dot as decimal separator, and is rejected by the validation. I'd like to have this validation done before triggering a postback (like a customvalidator would) and accepting both separators. Any ideas? Thanks

I edited those values in to help remove confusion. Now I want to iterate the list and print out a single value of each item list = self.TrackOlv.GetObjects() for item in list: print item.atrTitle This fails with the error AttributeError: type object 'Track' has no attribute 'atrTitle' What really confuses me is if I highlight a single item in the Object List View display and use the following code, it will correctly print out the single value for the highlighted item list = self.TrackOlv.GetSelectedObject() print list.atrTitle

• DatagridView loses current edit on Background update

  Here's my problem : I have a DataGridView bound to a BindingList of custom objects. A background thread is constantly updating a value of these objects. The udpates are showing correctly, and everything is fine except for one thing - If you try to edit a different field while the background-updated field is being updated, it loses the entered value. • ASP.NET Nested masterpages, how to set content in the top page from the aspx file?

  I have some content from a CMS that I need to move to raw asp.net pages. Since the templates are nested I guess I can use nested masterpages to acomplish it, but I'm finding that I can't set values on the top masterpage from the deep child page. Here is a sample. I have several nested masterpages with contentplaceholders: top master (with contentPlaceHolder1) nested master, dependent on top master (with contentPlaceHolder2) aspx page, dependent on nested master, defines content for contentPlaceHolder1 and 2 The problem is that asp.net doesn't allow me to have the value of contentPlaceHolder1 defined in the content page, it should be defined in the nested master. But the point is that the client page knows that value, not the template masters (for instance, the page knows about the graphic it has to display on the the top, but the placeholder for the graphic is the top master). How can I set values in the aspx page to be rendered in the top master?

  Hi, I have a modal popup extender which is triggered by gridview onRowCommand. The gridview and the modal popup extender is in different updatePanel. The panel which assigned to PopupControlID of the mpe contains a textbox and a button. This button will triggered a page method web service that will return a value to be assigned to the textbox. My problem is when I click the button, after partial post back, the mpe disapper (hide). I tried everything to make it show. • Do I need to use decimal places when using floats? Is the "f" suffix necessary?

  I've seen several examples in books and around the web where they sometimes use decimal places when declaring float values even if they are whole numbers, and sometimes using an "f" suffix. Is this necessary? For example: [UIColor colorWithRed:0.8 green:0.914 blue:0.9 alpha:1.00]; How is this different from: [UIColor colorWithRed:0.8f green:0.914f blue:0.9f alpha:1.00f]; Does the trailing "f" mean anything special? Getting rid of the trailing zeros for the alpha value works too, so it becomes: [UIColor colorWithRed:0.8 green:0.914 blue:0.9 alpha:1]; So are the decimal zeros just there to remind myself and others that the value is a float? Just one of those things that has puzzled me so any clarification is welcome :)

• Is it possible to set properties on a Mock Object in Simpletest

  I normally use getter and setter methods on my objects and I am fine with testing them as mock objects in SimpleTest by manipulating them with code like: Mock::generate('MyObj'); $MockMyObj->setReturnValue('getPropName', 'value') However, I have recently started to use magic interceptors (__set() __get()) and access properties like so: $MyObj->propName = 'blah'; But I am having difficulty making a mock object have a particular property accessed by using that technique. So is there some special way of setting properties on MockObjects. I have tried doing: $MockMyObj->propName = 'test Value'; but this does not seem to work. Not sure if it is my test Subject, Mock, magic Interceptors, or SimpleTest that is causing the property to be unaccessable. Any advice welcome.

• Odd nested dictionary behavior in python

  Im new two python and am trying to grow a dictionary of dictionaries. I have done this in php and perl but python is behaving very differently. Im sure it makes sense to those more familiar with python. Here is my code: colnames = ['name','dob','id']; tablehashcopy = {}; tablehashcopy = dict.fromkeys(colnames,{}); tablehashcopy['name']['hi'] = 0; print(tablehashcopy); Output: {'dob': {'hi': 0}, 'name': {'hi': 0}, 'id': {'hi': 0}} The problem arises from the 2nd to last statement(i put the print in for convenience). I expected to find that one element has been added to the 'name' dictionary with the key 'hi' and the value 0. But this key,value pair has been added to EVERY sub-dictionary. Why? I have tested this on my ubuntu machine in both python 2.6 and python 3.1 the behaviour is the same.
