  Hi All, Im trying to run a jar file. this jar file will output multiple question in console manner, i want to eliminate the console and i need to input a value in order to proceed. e.g : A. Choose value 1 : [1] Windows [2] Unix Input : 2 B. Choose value 2 : [1] Oracle [2] DB2 Input : 1 Im trying : "java -jar program.jar < abc.txt" where abc.txt has a value of : 2 1 3 etc. but its not working its only getting the first value. please help. thanks. btw, ive also try : OPEN PIPE, "| java -jar program.jar"; open (FH, /abc.txt) print PIPE "$res"; close FH; close PIPE; Regards

• Next line matching the regex in bash

  I have a file in the format: Port Number IP address Port Number IP address (Not sure how the output will be displayed here but let me tell you they are on separate lines) and so on.... I use the command grep -C 1 'port number' file.txt i.e. I want all IP addresses corresponding to a particular port. Making it simple, I want the next line matching a regular expression. Like if my regular expression matches line 2,4 and 6 then I want lines 3, 5 and 7 to be printed. How to do that?

Instead it is just returning the value of the global variable which I used for pthread_exit. Is it not a bug?

  I have floated two divs to left and right...But the next div after those two divs does not appear correctly... • Running Test framework as part of application

  Hi, I would like to know if it is possible in rails to run some test cases through my application. I mean, i want show the test results to users. So i was thinking to be able to call my tests through a controller and put the tests output in a dialog. Imagine that i'm doing an application where before to apply a rule, i want to run some validation tests. I could write methods in my rule model to do it, but i would like to use something like shoulda or any other kind of DSL where the "fixture" would be a record itself. Any tip or idea?

• How to parse out html links from a huge string with html links and other text (Java).

  Hello, my question is how would i be able to go through a string and take out only the links and erase all the rest? I thought about using some type of delemiter, but wouldnt know how to go about using it in java. an example of what i am trying to do: this is my String: String myString = "The file is http: // www. .com/hello.txt and the second file is " + "http: // www. .com/hello2.dat"; I would want the output to be: "http: // www. .com/hello.txt http: // www. .com/hello2.dat" or each could be added to an array, separately. I just want some ideas, id like to write the code myself but am having trouble on how to do it. Any help would be awesome.

• How to reverse a dictionary that it has repeated values (python)

  Hi guys! So, I have a dictionary with almost 100,000 (key, values) pairs and the majority of the keys map to the same values. For example imagine something like that: dict = {'a': 1, 'c': 2, 'b': 1, 'e': 2, 'd': 3, 'h': 1, 'j': 3} What I want to do, is to reverse the dictionary so that each value in dict is going to be a key at the reverse_dict and is going to map to a list of all the dict.keys that used to map to that value at the dict. So based on the example above I would get: reversed_dict = {1: ['a', 'b', 'h'], 2:['e', 'c'] , 3:['d', 'j']} I came up with a solution that is very expensive and I would really want to hear any ideas more efficient than mine. my expensive solution: reversed_dict = {} for value in dict.values(): reversed_dict[value] = [] for key in dict.keys(): if dict[key] == value: if key not in reversed_dict[value]: reversed_dict[value].append(key) Output >> reversed_dict = {1: ['a', 'b', 'h'], 2: ['c', 'e'], 3: ['d', 'j']} I would really appreciate to hear any ideas better and more efficient than than mine. • Using an int as the numerical representation of a string in C#

  I'm trying to use an integer as the numerical representation of a string, for example, storing "ABCD" as 0x41424344. However, when it comes to output, I've got to convert the integer back into 4 ASCII characters. Right now, I'm using bit shifts and masking, as follows: int value = 0x41424344; string s = new string ( new char [] { (char)(value >> 24), (char)(value >> 16 & 0xFF), (char)(value >> 8 & 0xFF), (char)(value & 0xFF) }); Is there a cleaner way to do this? I've tried various casts, but the compiler, as expected, complained about it.

• global counter in application: bad practice?

  In my C++ application I sometimes create different output files for troubleshooting purposes. Each file is created at a different step of our pipelined operation and it's hard to know file came before which other one (file timestamps all show the same date). I'm thinking of adding a global counter in my application, and a function (with multithreading protection) which increments and returns that global counter. Then I can use that counter as part of the filenames I create. Is this considered bad practice? Many different modules need to create files and they're not necessarily connected to each other.

• scala coalesces multiple function call parameters into a Tuple -- can this be disabled?

  This is a troublesome violation of type safety in my project, so I'm looking for a way to disable it. It seems that if a function takes an AnyRef (or a java.lang.Object), you can call the function with any combination of parameters, and Scala will coalesce the parameters into a Tuple object and invoke the function. In my case the function isn't expecting a Tuple, and fails at runtime. • Can a parser tell the lexer to ignore a newline?

  I'm writing a preprocessor for my language. In the preprocessor I've output a line that wasn't in the source file. This causes any error messages that Anltr creates to be incremented by one line. The Lexer handles the line count so I'm wondering if there is a way for the parser to tell the lexer to decrement the line count, or to ignore a specific newline. I'm also open to other suggestions on how to work around this. The only constraint I have is putting the extra line inline with the existing code. I'd prefer to keep it on it's own line to keep my parsing sane.

• PHP strtotime() setting date to default

  I have a script which is reading values from an excel sheet and inserting them into an sql table. My problem is when the script reads in some of the date fields it is setting them to a default value : 1970-01-01 01:00:00 I have noticed that this is happening when it comes across a date where the 'day' is greater than 12 : 13/05/2012 18:52:33 (dd-mm-yyyy hh-mm-ss) I thought this may be due to the script thinking that this is the month field (i.e american format) and it sees it as an invalid value, so I set the default timezone to my own hoping it may resolve the problem but it made no difference. date_default_timezone_set('Europe/Dublin'); Here is an example of what my code is doing: Excel field value : 01/05/2012 18:32:45 Script: $start_time = $data->val($x,5); echo $start_time = date("Y-m-d H:i:s", strtotime($start_time)); Output: 2012-01-05 18:32:45 This is the exact format I am looking for (except for the fact that the day and month fields are switched around i.e american date format) but it doesnt work for the type of dates I mentioned above.

• Is there a way to test if a scalar has been stringified or not?

  I am writing a thing to output something similar to JSON, from a perl structure. I want the quoting to behave like this: "string" outputs "string" "05" outputs "05" "5" outputs "5" 5 outputs 5 05 outputs 5, or 05 would be acceptable JSON::XS handles this by testing if a scalar has been "stringified" or not, which I think is very cool. But I can't find a way to do this test myself without writing XS, which I'd rather avoid. Is this possible? I can't find this anywhere on CPAN without finding vast pedantry about Scalar::Util::looks_like_number, etc which completely isn't what I want. The only stopgap I can find is Devel::Peek, which feels evil. And also, just like JSON::XS, I'm fine with this secenario: my $a = 5; print $a."\n"; # now $a outputs "5" instead of 5)

  I'm having trouble coming up with the most efficient algorithm to remove duplicates from List<List<int>>, for example (I know this looks like a list of int[], but just doing it that way for visual purposes: my_list[0]= {1, 2, 3}; my_list[1]= {1, 2, 3}; my_list[2]= {9, 10, 11}; my_list[3]= {1, 2, 3}; So the output would just be new_list[0]= {1, 2, 3}; new_list[1]= {9, 10, 11}; Let me know if you have any ideas. • How could I insert a string into the response stream anywhere I want?

  There may be an easy way to do this but I can't see it... I created a simple Http Module that starts a timer on the PreRequestHandler and stops the timer on the PostRequestHandler to calculate the time it took the page to load. I then create some simple html and write my results to Response.Write. Since I'm doing this in the PostRequestHandler it's adding my results after the </html> tag. That's fine for testing but I need in a scenario where the page needs to validate. I can't seem to figure out how I could manipulate the Response object to insert my results before the </body> tag. Response.Write and Response.Output.Write don't have that flexibility and I couldn't see a way to work with the Response as a string. Am I missing something easy?

I know how to do this, but I am not able to put this new string array back into the cell - mycell = { 'AIR' [780] [1] [734472] [0.01] ; ... 'ABC' [780] [1] [734472] [0.02]} I did this -- dates = datestr(cell2mat(mycell(:,4))) ; What I need as an answer is: {'AIR' [780] [1] '14-Dec-2010' [0.01] ; 'ABC' [780] [1] '23-Dec-2010' [0.03] ; } so that I can now send it to an excel file using xlswrite.m

  I'm trying to transfer the contents of one list to another, but it's not working and I don't know why not. My code looks like this: list1 = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] list2 = [] for item in list1: list2.append(item) list1.remove(item) But if I run it my output looks like this: >>> list1 [2, 4, 6] >>> list2 [1, 3, 5] My question is threefold, I guess: Why is this happening, how do I make it work, and am I overlooking an incredibly simple solution like a 'move' statement or something?

Modify the previous query to show all students, even if they have not registered for a class. You should have 14 rows. Students who are not registered will show NULL in output. I know this requires outer join of some sort but I'm not fully grasping these joins i've read multiple posts on here and other sites but can't seem figure it out.
