  • Use deployJava.js to check for/automatically install latest JRE version for web applet

    I'd like to use the deployJava.js tool to have Java automatically detect the currently installed JRE and install an updated version if necessary. My initial impression when reading about deployJava.js was that it would do this out of the box when you simply set a version number as a function parameter for the "runApplet" function. But this has never seemed to work. Is it even possible to do this, and if so, how?   • scaleX scaleY increasing left, top margin, and line spacing

    If you have Text with a font that is 72 point for example (and scaleX scaleY = 1) you can achieve the same size with a font size of 12 and scaleX,scaleY = 6. For reasons that would take too long to explain I am applying a large scale factor as in the latter example. The problem is, even though the text is the same size, the line spacing and left and top margins have all been increased but I want them to be the same size as well. As far as the line spacing, I discovered that TextFormat.leading was being automatically increased when scaleX, scaleY was greater than 1, so I just had to reset TextFormat.leading back to 0. That leaves the left and top margins, and I have no idea how those are being increased. I tried TextFormat.blockIndent=0 and TextFormat.leftMargin=0 (and also ignorePadding=true) and it had no effect. And have no clue how to reset the top margin either to its orginal size, in case anyone has an idea for all these.

  • Issue with blocking the UI during a onchange request - prevents other event from firing.

    I am having issues with jQuery blockUI plugins and firing two events that are (I think, unless I am loosing it) unrelated. Basically I have textboxes with onchange events bound to them. The event is responsible for blocking the UI, doing the ajax call and on success unblocking the UI. The ajax is saving the text in memory. The other control is a button with on onclick event which also block the UI, fire an ajax request saving what's in memory to the database and on success unblock the UI. Both of these work fine separately. The issue arise when I trigger the onchange by clicking on the button. Then only the onchange is fired and the onclick is ignored. I can change the text in the checkbox, click on the link and IF jQuery.blockUI() is present the onchange alone is fired and the save is never called. If I remove the blockUI both function are called. Here's a fully working example where you can see the issue.   • UITextField showing trash instead of characters

    There's quite a strange thing happening to text fields in application I'm developing (see image below).  [1]: http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/1449/zrzutekranu20100506godz.png At some point in the application I'm using    - (void) viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillAppear:animated]; [[(TextFieldView*)[self view] usernameTextField] becomeFirstResponder];    } Which results in the above image. If it's called in viewDidAppear - everything is fine. The funny thing about this error is that it breaks ALL text fields throught the application. Has anyone ever encountered such an error? Might it be related to openGL use?

  • tableView resize problem when pushing another view while keyboard is showing

    I have a tableview controller under a navigation controller. Some of my table cells contain text fields, so when I tap on them, a keyboard will show up and automatically resize (shrink) the bounds of my tableview. The bounds is then restored when the keyboard is dismissed programmatically by calling resignFirstResponder on my text field. Some of my cells would push a new view controller into the view stack when tapped on, so I first resign my current textfield before pushing the view controller: - (NSIndexPath *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView willSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { if (currentEditingTextField != nil) { [currentEditingTextField resignFirstResponder]; currentEditingTextField = nil; } return indexPath; } The problem is when I navigate back to my table view, the bounds of the tableview is sized as if the keyboard is still there. I know this because the scroll indicator only reaches right above where the keyboard was and there is empty view space below the table view. Anybody experienced this and know of a solution? Thanks

    We were trying to run fllowing code in rake file: directory "tmp" file "hello.tmp" => "tmp" do sh "echo 'Hello' >> 'tmp/hello.tmp'" end We have taken this code from http://jasonseifer.com/2010/04/06/rake-tutorial But, since we are working on windows commands like'sh','echo' wont work.. according to the explanation given for the above code, it should first create a directory 'tmp' and then create a file 'hello.tmp' which will have 'hello' as its text.. Firstly, how can we do this for windows? and Secondly, a file with extension '.tmp' sounds quite wierd.. what does 'hello.tmp' specifies? Does it simply mean that 'hello.tmp' is a text file in 'tmp' directory?

  • Spring mvc: controller returns [][], usable in jsp with foreach, but how to bind?

    I'm building a spring mvc application. Now the problem I have is the following. I have a controller which adds a DayInfo[][] to my ModelMap. (DayInfo has an id, a title (String) and Text(also String). Now the problem I have is that I have no problem displaying this DayInfo[][] with foreach tags in my jsp. However I'm outputting the Title property as an input box(type text), and I'd like to be able to update this value (and thus saving it to be a database but that shouldn't be a problem). However I'm having trouble with binding this value to the input box so that it is actually returned to the controller. If anyone has some advice it would be welcome.

The following is the kind of text that I've got to work with. Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 920 (2.66GHz, 8MB cache, 4.8GT/sec)/ Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit- English/ 640 GB Serial ATA non Raid (7200 Rpm)/ 6GB 1333MHz (3x2GB) Tri Channel Memory/ Display Not Included/ 16X DVD+/- RW Optical Drive (DVD & CD read and write)/ 1.8GB NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX260 graphics card/ Integrated HDA 7.1 Dolby Digital Audio What I'm hoping jquery can do is highlight some of the basic specs without inserting any extra html. Maybe working off a list of values matching the spec format using some wildcards where neededed? The css to select the correct tag is #list div div div+p or I could just give the p class but would rather not. Is this kind of thing possible?

  • Why is FF on OS X loosing jQuery-UI in click event handler?

    In a web page using jQUery 1.7.1 and jQUery-UI 1.8.18, if I output $.ui in an alert box when the document is ready, I get [object Object]. However when using Firefox, if I output $.ui in a click event handler, I get 'undefined' as result. With other browsers (latest versions of IE, Chrome and Safari), the result is still [object Object] when clicking on the link. UPDATE: IF I replace my alerts with simply alert($); I get this result for alert A: function (selector, context) { return new jQuery.fn.init(selector, context, rootjQuery); } and this one for alert B: function (a, b) { return new d.fn.init(a, b, g); } This does not make sense to me, although I may not be understanding well enough what $ is... UPDATE 2: I can only reproduce this problem using Firefox on OS X. On Firefox running on Windows 7, everything is fine.

  • How to diagnose, and reverse (not prevent) Unicode mangling

    Somewhere upstream of me, "something" happened that looks like unicode mangling. One symptom is that a lowercase u umlaut (ü) gets converted to "ü" (ie, character FC gets converted to C3 BC). Assuming that I have no control over this upstream process, how can I reverse-engineer what's going on? And if that is possible, can I crank the sausage machine backwards and get the original text back? (If it helps to understand this case, the text I received was in the form of a MySQL dump. I think somwewhere in the dump/transport process it got mangled.)

  • How can I select a value matching my input from a TypeAhead control using WWW::Mechanize?

    So ordinarily the element I want to pick from a list would be populated on a page and I'd just find it and pick it. But I'm dealing with a control that doesn't populate list elements until some input has been stuck into a text box, after which it gives me a list of recommendations. For an example of the kind of list I'm talking about think of Facebook's "People, Places, and Things" search field. I want to plug a string into this text box, select the same string from the list of recommendations, and submit the form. The issue I'm having right now is I can't seem to get Mechanize to even recognize the field is there. I examine a dump of $mech->find_all_inputs and it isn't listed. Is this kind of field just beyond Mechanize's jurisdiction?

    I'm using a plist (array of dictionaries) to populate a tableview. Now, when a cell i pressed, I want to pass the reprecented dictionary to the detail view with a segue.
