• .net open auth?

  Hi I know stackoverflow uses open authentication. I want to try and use this as well. I am using asp.net mvc 2.0 with C#. I found this http://www.dotnetopenauth.net/ and I am wondering if this is what was used for stackoverflow. Also any tutorials would be nice as well. • Django as S3 proxy

  Hi there, I extended a ModelAdmin with a custom field "Download file", which is a link to a URL in my Django project, like: http://www.myproject.com/downloads/1 There, I want to serve a file which is stored in a S3-bucket. The files in the bucket are not public readable, and the user may not have direct access to it. Now I want to avoid that the file has to be loaded in the server memory (these are multi-gb-files) avoid to have temp files on the server The ideal solution would be to let django act as a proxy that streams S3-chunks directly to the user. I use boto, but did not find a possibility to stream the chunks. Any ideas? Thanks.

• Relative to absolute paths in HTML (asp.net)

  Hello all, I need to create a newsletters by URL. I to do next: Create a WebClient; Use WebClient's method DownloadData to get a source of page in byte array; Get string from source-html byte array and set it to the newsletter content. But I have some troubles with paths. All elements' sources were relative (/img/welcome.png) but I need absolute (http://www.mysite.com/img/welcome.png). How can I do this? Best regards, Alex.

• jQuery Custom Gallery and jCarousel problem

  Active site can be seen here: http://www.studioimbrue.com/index2.php There are currently two small problems with the coding. First: when the page loads and you attempt to click on one of the large images to advance, nothing happens. Once a thumbnail is clicked, the click functionality of the large image comes available. I'm trying to fix it so when the page loads, the user can just start clicking the large image. Second: when an image is clicked, the thumbnail highlight changes. The only problem there is once it gets past 4, the "current" thumbnail needs to be seen, thus the carousel should go to that one. Right now the code for that is nextThumb.closest('.thumbscontainer').jcarousel('next'); but that makes it scroll every time you click. Thanks for any help

  im sure you guys must have seen the shift happens video series. here's a link to them : http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=shift+happens&search_type=&aq=f also, the recent hungry beast video about google, which can be found here: (SO doesnt allow new users more than one hyperlink, so please search on youtube for this one) what i'd like to ask you guys is this: is there a program that enables such videos to be made quickly or is it really just the creative genius of the respective authors? i think vidoes like these are extremely useful when you want to make an impact and would find many uses for such a program in my line of work. im hoping somebody can point me in the right direction. ps. i DO know of animoto, so please dont suggest that :P the problem with animoto is that it doesnt allow text manipulation like these videos. to be fair, that is a great product in itself, but im sure if you take a look, you'll see the difference that im talking abuot.

  Hello, I need (free or cheap) source for end of day stock/mutual funds/index values. Major world indexes & European stocks are primary intrest. I keep seeing that yahoo/ google/ MS offer this data, yet I cant find HOWTO doc (or similar) on getting the data. Reuters is an option - ~$300/month puts it out of my range. • Component properties working at designtime but not runtime

  I am creating a component that uses a collection and collection items of panels. I can't seem to get the colors to work at runtime, but yet they seem to work just fine at design time. You can download the component source code here: http://www.shaneholmes.net/pasfiles/ There is a Consoles (Tcollection) property, status colors property, and a Edit mode property Each console (TCollectionItem) has a status property when changed, the consoles property is changed based on the components StatusColors property. When the components EditMode property is set to true, you can move the panels around at runtime. Question: Why does the colors only work at designtime and not runtime. thanks

  Requests to www.domainname.com and domainname.com should display index.html, not index.php as it does now.   I have 100 of .gz files which I need to de-compress. I have couple of questions a) I am using the code given at http://www.roseindia.net/java/beginners/JavaUncompress.shtml to decompress the .gz file. Its working fine. Quest:- is there a way to get the file name of the zipped file. I know that Zip class of Java gives of enumeration of entery file to work upon. This can give me the filename, size etc stored in .zip file. But, do we have the same for .gz files or does the file name is same as filename.gz with .gz removed. b) is there another elegant way to decompress .gz file by calling the utility function in the java code. Like calling 7-zip application from your java class. Then, I don't have to worry about input/output stream. Thanks in advance. Kapil

• Does <httpRedirect> in web.config work in a mono setup? Or is it IIS7 specific?

  We had some content restructure recently and I'd like to put in some redirect rules into web.config so bookmarks to the old pages can get routed to their new locations/pages. I tried using this approach: <location path="~/product/productA.aspx"> <system.webServer> <httpRedirect enabled="true" destination="~/product/category/productA.aspx" exactDestination="false" childOnly="true" httpResponseStatus="Permanent" /> </system.webServer> </location> But all I'm getting when I go to "http://www.oursite.com/product/productA.aspx" is our http 404 page. Am I doing something wrong, or is the httpRedirect tag in web.config not supported in mono? worked, but not ideal for what we want to achieve. Thank you :)

• Code working in jsFiddle but not in browser...

  I'm trying to run the following code, written on my local machine: http://www.jsfiddle.net/WShdx/3/ Functionality-wise (ignore the broken images in the previous and next buttons, and the wrongly-sized main images) the click/hover function is working properly in jsfiddle. However, on my local machine it's not working at all. I realize after reading this (http://www.asp.net/web-api/overview/extensibility/using-the-web-api-dependency-resolver) that these interfaces have changed, but I am not sure how to apply this change to how I use Autofac. Do i need to wait for a new release from Autofac or is there another way I can get past this.

• Raw socket sendto() failure in OS X

  When I open a raw socket is OS X, construct my own udp packet (headers and data), and call sendto(), I get the error "Invalid Argument". Here is a sample program "rawudp.c" from the web site http://www.tenouk.com/Module43a.html that demonstrates this problem. The program (after adding string and stdlib #includes) runs under Fedora 10 but fails with "Invalid Argument" under OS X. Can anyone suggest why this fails in OS X? I have looked and looked and looked at the sendto() call, but all the parameters look good. I'm running the code as root, etc. Is there perhaps a kernel setting that prevents even uid 0 executables from sending packets through raw sockets in OS X Snow Leopard? Thanks.

• Generate fixed length hash in python for url parameter

  I am working in python on appengine. I am trying to create what is equivalent to the "v" value in the youtube url's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhMN0wlITLk) for retrieving specific entities. The datastore auto generates a key but it is way too long (34 digits). I have experimented with hashlib to build my own, but again I get a long string. I would like to keep it to under 11 digits (I am not dealing with a huge number of entities) and letters and numbers are acceptable. It seems like there should be a pretty standard solution. I am probably just missing it.

• HTTP Content-type header for cached files

  Hello, Using Apache with mod_rewrite, when I load a .css or .js file and view the HTTP headers, the Content-type is only set correctly the first time I load it - subsequent refreshes are missing Content-type altogether and it's creating some problems for me. I can get around this by appending a random query string value to the end of each filename, eg. http://www.site.com/script.js?12345 However, I don't want to have to do that, since caching is good and all I want is for the Content-type to be present. I've tried using a RewriteRule to force the type but still didn't solve the problem. Any ideas? Thanks, Brian

• Resizing JPopupMenu and avoiding a "flicker" issue

  Hi, I am trying to implement a search results popup list similar to the style found here: http://www.inquisitorx.com/ (I'm not trying to implement a Google search, I'm just using this as a rough example of the style I'm working on.) In any event, I am implementing this by using a JList contained within a JPopupMenu which is popped up underneath a JTextField. When a user enters search terms, the list changes to reflect different matching results. I then call pack on the JPopupMenu to resize it. This works, however, it creates a slight flicker effect since it is actually hiding the popup and showing a popup. (See the private method getPopup in JPopupMenu where it explicitly does this.) Is there any way to just get it to just resize itself (aside from using a JWindow)?

• [Gdata] GetAuthSubToken returns None

  Hey guys, I am a little lost on how to get the auth token. Here is the code I am using on the return from authorizing my app: client = gdata.service.GDataService() gdata.alt.appengine.run_on_appengine(client) sessionToken = gdata.auth.extract_auth_sub_token_from_url(self.request.uri) client.UpgradeToSessionToken(sessionToken) logging.info(client.GetAuthSubToken()) what gets logged is "None" so that does seem right :-( if I use this: temp = client.upgrade_to_session_token(sessionToken) logging.info(dump(temp)) I get this: {'scopes': ['http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/'], 'auth_header': 'AuthSub token=CNKe7drpFRDzp8uVARjD-s-wAg'} so I can see that I am getting a AuthSub Token and I guess I could just parse that and grab the token but that doesn't seem like the way things should work.
