  • Postfix + LDAP + Recipient Delimiter

    I'm trying to get my Postfix and LDAP-backend to accept recipent delimiters (aka address extensions). The rest of the mail system is working fine, but when an email is received with an extension (e.g. [email protected]), it tries to look up "coops+test" against the LDAP service and fails. Obviously this is wrong, and it should strip out the "+test" part. In my postfix config the string being passed to the LDAP service is "%s", per an example line below: accounts_query_filter = (&(objectClass=MailAccount)(mail=%s)(accountActive=TRUE)(delete=FALSE)) Is there a postfix variable which represents the email account minus the extension? I've found a similar post here, but no actual solution.

    When IGD and DIS both exist in my pc,and I want to disable DIS,so I create a service to switch on and off the DIS.It works.Finally,I decide to add the service command into /etc/rc.local so that DIS will be powered off automatically.Unfortunately,it fails.There's only one command added by myself in the file /etc/rc.local,so I can affirm failure is caused by that added command. Before,I directly added the command "echo OFF /sys/kernel/debug..." into /etc/rc.local,and when I restarted,the system startup fails.So I thought maybe when the command is executed,the DIS hasn't been powered on or ready for work.So conflict occurs!It's just my prediction.Then I added one line command "sleep 1s" before the "echo OFF ...",it works nearly everytime when I start or restart pc,while fails sometimes. The output result of "cat /sys/kernel/debug..." is as following: 0:IGD:+:Pwr:0000:00:02.0 1:DIS: :Pwr:0000:01:00.0 I want know 0000:00:02.0 means what?Time of first power on? If it was really time,I can set the command "sleep 2s" to wait for DIS powered on then "echo OFF ..." Thanks for your advice!

  • AR9485 wireless card loses ability to connect after hibernation

    This has happened twice now, the first time it happened I just reinstalled Ubuntu. The only things that I've been messing with in terms of networking, have been restarting the network-manager service after I resume from hibernate (because it never works right after resume, but restarting the service fixes that), and changing my mac address with ifconfig wlan0 down && ifconfig wlan0 hw ether 11:22:33:44:55 && ifconfig wlan0 up. using tail | dmesg returns a bunch of attempts to connect, saying something like authenticating ... okay you're connected! now I'm going to just disconnect because I feel like it. (reason=3). Any ideas? If it helps maybe I'll add a picture of the tail|dmesg output later. My wireless drivers are as follows: Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter Hamachi Network Interface Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter Here is a pastebin of some terminal outputs that could help. Also, the reddit thread has a few answers, for anyone curious. It's located here. It is entirely possible that it's just my school wifi blocking out my laptop, and my home wifi sucks.   • Nagios state transition and event handler issue

    We are using Nagios to check duplicate processes. define service { use local-service host_name xxx service_description xxx Duplicate Processes check_interval 1 max_check_attempts 1 contact_groups admins event_handler restart-dependent-processes check_command check_procs_duplicate!2!3!2!2!2 } check_procs_duplicate checks if there are any duplicate processes and returns the state - e.g. CRITICAL. The event handler kills the duplicate processes and it's dependent processes and starts one instance of the process and dependent process. At the end of this again Nagios checks if there are any duplicate processes and sets the state accordingly - OK/WARNING/CRITICAL. The event handler takes more time to start the processes and during this time if someone manually starts the process, the state will remain in CRITICAL itself. During the next interval, Nagios will again check for duplicate processes and it will find it again CRITICAL. The event handler will not get executed now, as the previos and current both the states are CRITICAL. Any pointers about how to fix this issue?

  • C# calendar needs Business Logic for real-time reminders? [on hold]

    I am not a super experienced C# user, though I have some experience in .Net and VB.Net. Just got this new job and my first assignment is a mission critical part of the business. It is pretty important I get it right so I was hoping for some sage advice. We have created a calendar using jQuery, C#, .Net & SQL Server 08. The calendar works but now we are wanting to add email, SMS and voice-call reminders. We are a small company and can do whatever we need to do with no restrictions on our IT environment. I have some base-line experience with Unix servers but would prefer to stay in the Micro$oft universe if it is prudent to do so. I know how to add the API calls and services to initiate these reminders (using built in email services for email and Twilio.com for SMS). I am asking for advice about how to approach a reliable and timely listener service that knows when to call the service or API for the reminder before an appointment. EG. SMS: "You have a conference call in 30 minutes." I have done some research, but it is hard to know what is a proven reliable approach. What I am looking for is an experienced opinion on a good (or the best) strategy for implementing a solution that will reliably listen for appointments and dispatch the reminders when needed.

    I have a vb.net web application that talks to a web service. I get the following error if I try to connect to the web service. System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. The strange thing is it is working fine on one of the set of servers and on another set of servers, we get this error. The only notable difference between the servers is in the authentication setting in IIS. The server where the it works fine we have the ASP.Net Impersonation disabled, but on the other server I get an error the moment I disable the ASP.Net Impersonation.

    Project Overview I have a view which binds to a viewmodel containing 2 ObserverableCollection. The viewmodel constructor populates the first ObserverableCollection and the view datacontext is collected to bind to it through a public property called Sites. Later the 2ed ObserverableCollection is populated in the LoadOrders method and the public property LoadFraudResults is updated for binding it with datacontext. I am using WCF to pull the data from the database and its getting pulled very nicely. But, when I call BindItemsSource again to repopulate the obseravablecollection based on changed selected combo value via cmbWebsite_SelectionChanged, the observalblecollection gets populated with new value and LoadFraudResults property in viewmodule is populated with new values; but when i call the datacontext to rebind the datagrid,the datagrid does not reflect the changed values. In other words the datagrid doesnot get changed when the datacontext is called the 2ed time in BindItemsSource method of the view. manageFraudOrderViewModel.LoadOrders(website); this.DataContext = manageFraudOrderViewModel; manageFraudOrderViewModel values are correct but the datagrid is not relected with changed values.   • Getting JAX-WS client work on Weblogic 9.2 with ant

    I've recently had lots of issues trying to deploy a JAX-WS web servcie client on Weblogic 9.2. It turns out there is no straightforward guide on how to achieve this, so I decided to put together this short wiki entry hoping it might be useful for others. Firstly, Weblogic 9.2 does not support web servcies using JAX-WS in general. It comes with old versions of XML-related java libraries that are incompatible with the latest JAX-WS (similar issues occur with Axis2, only Axis1 seems to be working flawlessly with Weblogic 9.x but that's a very old and unsupported library). So, in order to get it working, some hacking is required. This is how I did it (note that we're using ant in our legacy corporate project, you probably should be using maven which should eliminate 50% of those steps below): Download the most recent JAX-WS distribution from https://jax-ws.dev.java.net/ (The exact version I got was JAXWS2.2-20091203.zip) Place the JAX-WS jars with the dependencies in a separate folder like lib/webservices. Create a patternset in ant to reference those jars: Include the patternset in your WAR-related goal. This could look something like: (not the flatten="true" parameter - it's important as Weblogic 9.x is by default not smart enough to access jars located in a different lcoation than WEB-INF/lib inside your WAR file) In case of clashes, Weblogic uses its own jars by default. We want it to use the JAX-WS jars from our application instead. This is achieved by preparing a weblogic-application.xml file and placing it in META-INF folder of the deplotyed EAR file. It should look like this: javax.jws. javax.xml.bind. javax.xml.crypto. javax.xml.registry. javax.xml.rpc. javax.xml.soap. javax.xml.stream. javax.xml.ws. com.sun.xml.api.streaming.* Remember to place that weblogic-application.xml file in your EAR! The ant goal for that may look similar to: <jar destfile="${warfile}" basedir="${wardir}"/> <ear destfile="${earfile}" appxml="resources/${app.name}/application.xml"> <fileset dir="${dist}" includes="${app.name}.war"/> <metainf dir="resources/META-INF"/> </ear> Also you need to tell weblogic to prefer your WEB-INF classes to those in distribution. You do that by placing the following lines in your WEB-INF/weblogic.xml file: true And that's it for the weblogic-related configuration. Now only set up your JAX-WS goal. The one below is going to simply generate the web service stubs and classes based on a locally deployed WSDL file and place them in a folder in your app: Remember about the keep="true" parameter. Without it, wsimport generates the classes and... deletes them, believe it or not! For mocking a web service I suggest using SOAPUI, an open source project. Very easy to deploy, crucial for web servcies intergation testing. We're almost there. The final thing is to write a Java class for testing the web service, try to run it as a standalone app first (or as part of your unit tests) And then try to run the same code from withing Weblogic. It should work. It worked for me. After some 3 days of frustration. And yes, I know I should've put 9 and 10 under a single bullet-point, but the title "10 steps to deploy a JAX-WS web service under Web logic 9.2 using ant" sounds just so much better.   • Example map-reduce oozie program not working on CDH 4.5

    I am using Hadoop (CDH 4.5) on my mac since some time now, and do run map reduce jobs regularly. I installed oozie recently (again, CDH4.5) following instructions at: http://archive.cloudera.com/cdh4/cdh/4/oozie-3.3.2-cdh4.5.0/DG_QuickStart.html, and tried to run sample programs provided. However, it always fails with the following error. Looks like the workflow is not getting run at all. The Console URL field in the Job info is also empty. Could someone please help on this?     I have the following code which seems to go on indefinitely until the app crashes. It seems to happen with the recursion in the datastructureFromManagedObject method. I suspect that this method: 1) looks at the first managed object and follows any relationship property recursively. 2) examines the object at the other end of the relationship found at point 1 and repeats the process. Is it possible that if managed object A has a to-many relationship with object B and that relationship is two-way (i.e an inverse to-one relationship to A from B - e.g. one department has many employees but each employee has only one department) that the following code gets stuck in infinite recursion as it follows the to-one relationship from object B back to object A and so on.     Hi, I've been banging my head around with a @ViewScoped managed-bean. I'm using primeface's "schedule" component in order to display some events. When the user clicks on a specific button a method in the viewscoped bean is called using ajax but every time I get a "java.io.NotSerializableException", if I change the managed-bean scope to request the problem dissapears.   • Passing integer lists in a sql query, best practices

    I'm currently looking at ways to pass lists of integers in a SQL query, and try to decide which of them is best in which situation, what are the benefots of each, and what are the pitfalls, what should be avoided :) Right now I know of 3 ways that we currently use in our application. 1) Table valued parameter: Create a new Table Valued Parameter in sql server: CREATE TYPE [dbo].[TVP_INT] AS TABLE( [ID] [int] NOT NULL ) Then run the query against it: using (var conn = new SqlConnection(DataContext.GetDefaultConnectionString)) { var comm = conn.CreateCommand(); comm.CommandType = CommandType.Text; comm.CommandText = @" UPDATE DA SET [tsLastImportAttempt] = CURRENT_TIMESTAMP FROM [Account] DA JOIN @values IDs ON DA.ID = IDs.ID"; comm.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("values", downloadResults.Select(d => d.ID).ToDataTable()) { TypeName = "TVP_INT" }); conn.Open(); comm.ExecuteScalar(); } The major disadvantages of this method is the fact that Linq doesn't support table valued params (if you create an SP with a TVP param, linq won't be able to run it) :( 2) Convert the list to Binary and use it in Linq! This is a bit better.. Create an SP, and you can run it within linq :) To do this, the SP will have an IMAGE parameter, and we'll be using a user defined function (udf) to convert this to a table.. We currently have implementations of this function written in C++ and in assembly, both have pretty much the same performance :) Basically, each integer is represented by 4 bytes, and passed to the SP. In .NET we have an extension method that convers an IEnumerable to a byte array The extension method: public static Byte[] ToBinary(this IEnumerable intList) { return ToBinaryEnum(intList).ToArray(); } private static IEnumerable<Byte> ToBinaryEnum(IEnumerable<Int32> intList) { IEnumerator<Int32> marker = intList.GetEnumerator(); while (marker.MoveNext()) { Byte[] result = BitConverter.GetBytes(marker.Current); Array.Reverse(result); foreach (byte b in result) yield return b; } } The SP: CREATE PROCEDURE [Accounts-UpdateImportAttempts] @values IMAGE AS BEGIN UPDATE DA SET [tsLastImportAttempt] = CURRENT_TIMESTAMP FROM [Account] DA JOIN dbo.udfIntegerArray(@values, 4) IDs ON DA.ID = IDs.Value4 END And we can use it by running the SP directly, or in any linq query we need using (var db = new DataContext()) { db.Accounts_UpdateImportAttempts(downloadResults.Select(d => d.ID).ToBinary()); // or var accounts = db.Accounts .Where(a => db.udfIntegerArray(downloadResults.Select(d => d.ID).ToBinary(), 4) .Select(i => i.Value4) .Contains(a.ID)); } This method has the benefit of using compiled queries in linq (which will have the same sql definition, and query plan, so will also be cached), and can be used in SPs as well. Both these methods are theoretically unlimited, so you can pass millions of ints at a time :) 3) The simple linq .Contains() It's a more simple approach, and is perfect in simple scenarios. But is of course limited by this. using (var db = new DataContext()) { var accounts = db.Accounts .Where(a => downloadResults.Select(d => d.ID).Contains(a.ID)); } The biggest drawback of this method is that each integer in the downloadResults variable will be passed as a separate int.. In this case, the query is limited by sql (max allowed parameters in a sql query, which is a couple of thousand, if I remember right). So I'd like to ask.. What do you think is the best of these, and what other methods and approaches have I missed?
