    Hi so I am trying to create a deb package for a web application written in Java (it uses Apache Tomcat). My eventual goal is to start a repository that people can add to apt-get the software, but How do I make it so that the package knows to look for dependencies like tomcat, sun-java6-bin, and ant? How do I write an installer script to place the files and folders in the right place?

  • Open an external program in Qt with an attached file extension

    I am making a qt application which allows the user to select a file and then upon clicking ok, start the associated program with the file already loaded. The program I want to start is java based, and I know how to use QProcess to get it to open, I don't know however how to add the file extension which the user is selecting. Any suggestions?

    What is the best way to override jre_lib classes? Let's say I need to store all ArrayLists not in RAM but on disk or anywhere else. I wanna write my own ArrayList class to code this functionality and make sure that every instantiations of ArrayList use my class. I thought about class loading mechanism to change order of classpath, but as I see java checks standard classes first.

I want to share a class module with another programmer, but I don't want to share the source code. I would like to share a .class file but I'm not sure how to do the following: Compile an Android .java file into .class What does the receiver of the .class file have to do to use that .class in their project?   • Is it bad practice to 'mix class and interfaces in the same package'?

    Hello, I just found something that I never heard of before and I do not agree with (by now). In an (upvoted and not further commented) answer I read "why to mix class and interfaces in the same package" So I wonder, if there are reasons to separate Interfaces and implementations in Java. I know that we are not obliged to have all implementations in the package of the interface, but is it (sometimes) wise to have none there? Regards Mike [;-)

    Hi, I am just trying to understand the extends keyword in Java Generics. List<? extends Animal> means we can stuff any object in the List which IS A Animal then won't the following also mean the same thing: List<Animal> Can someone help me know the difference between the above two? To me extends just sound redundant here. Thanks!

In this write I insert a row that has foreign key which has the same value for all rows, and this exception occurs: Could not recover transaction. Original exception follows. com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlDataTruncation: Data truncation: Out of range value for column 'idPxxx' at row 1 Only 5% of requests fails to this exceptions, others works. Regards

But this code doesn't let me set a phone number to dial after i setup the port and before I transfer the file. Is there any way of sharing the port with another application that dials the phone number?
