  I'm loading pixels from an image which is 32 w by 32 height. The format I'm loading them in is ARGB via java. When I bind this to the video card, I can expect that the video card might use somewhere around 32*32*4 bytes, or 4K. Similarly, 1024 w, 1024 h would be 1024*1024*4 = 4MB. Is my understanding correct? Now I understand where all the memory goes!

Example: I want to write a class with the JPA @Embeddable annotation, which would be present at compile time (maven scope: "provided"). But the annoatation definition could be absent at runtime, if the class is used outside a JPA application.

  Hi, ok it is 'easy' to make jna wrapper solution for mapping exported functions within dll using jna: long f1(int x), just int long f2(char* y), just char[] but how to deal with long f3(char** z) ?   i'm new to this topic ... i'm using a ThreadPoolExecutor created with Executors.newFixedThreadPool( 10 ) and after the pool is full i'm starting to get a RejectedExecutionException . Is there a way to "force" the executor to put the new task in a "wait" status instead of rejecting it and starting it when the pool is freed ?   In Eclipse (and Flash/Flex Builder) you get the option with Ctrl+Shift+F to do a file search and look for a regular expression. Would be a real handy thing to know.   I try to play with sockets a bit. For that I wrote very simple "client" and "server" applications. Connection is successfully established (client stops running and server is running). Then I close the server and start it again in a second. After that I start a client and it writes "Connection Refused". It seems to me that the server "remember" the old connection and does not want to open the second connection twice. But I do not understand how it is possible. Because I killed the previous server and started a new one! I do not start the server immediately after the previous one was killed (I wait like 20 seconds). In this case the server "forget" the socket from the previous server and accepts the request from the client. I start the server and then I start the client. Connection is established (server writes: "A client-request is accepted"). Then I wait a minute and start the client again. And server (which was running the whole time) accept the request again! Why? The server should not accept the request from the same client-IP and client-port but it does!

• JSplitPane SetDividerLocation Problem

  I have a JSplitPane which when shown should split the pane by 50%. Now on giving an argument of 0.5 (as suggested) to setDividerLocation, Java seems to treat it as a normal number instead of a percentage. As in, the divider, instead of going to the middle of the pane, is almost at the start of the left pane (the pane is vertically split). Any work arounds?
