• Load external pages using jquery

  I'm trying to use jquery to load external pages into the current without reloading. Apparently everything works fine except of one little issue, I hope I'll be clear as much as possible. When I call the page 'info.php' it is loaded into the #content div. That's what the script supposed to do, the problem is that in the main page, which contains the script and the #content div, I already have some code that I want it to be executed when someone visit the page and not to be called from external page. • Overriding Node Paths

  Can a PAGE override the priority of a NODE? I want to use the power of "Pages" to override my links from the nodes... For example: A nodes link is /content/202/hello-world I want to use my Panels to use the URL to create a "PAGE"... The panels can use the arguments from the URL to create a pretty cool page around the content of a node... So the PAGE path I've made is /content/%argument1/%title... I need the links created to the node from the node itself to go to this panel page and not to the content created by the node on its own... so i make the path alias do the same as the PAGE settings... /content/nid/title... A hand typed in link to this PAGE works fine when I dont have this as the path alias... It does exactly what I need... but as soon as I make this the Path Alias, it's like it goes to the single NODE before it goes to the PAGE... Anyone have any clues... Is there an order which Drupal looks for the correct URL? Im sure I have done this before. JD

• jQuery multiple running totals

  0I am using jQuery to calculate a running total on multiple textboxes. Just found an awesome response on how to get that working a few days ago, but now I am running into another problem. When using one selector, the total for GetTotal is calculated perfectly. However, when I include the second selector, the totals begin to conflict with one another, and no longer calculate properly. I have been searching for a solution to this for some time now, does anyone have any ideas? The issue is that google gives a different open id for the return url specified and we have at least 2 different entry points in our application from where open id is configured into our system. • Table cell doesn't obey vertical-align CSS declaration when it contains a floated element

  I am trying to create a table, where each cell contains a big floated h1 on the left side, and a larger amount of small text to the right of the big text, vertically centered. However, the small text is showing up at the top of each cell, despite that it has a "vertical-align: middle" declaration. When I remove the big floated element, everything looks fine. I tested it in recent versions of IE, Firefox, and Safari, and this happened in every case. Why is this happening? Does anyone know of a way around it? • VBScript: Disable caching of response from server to HTTP GET URL request

  I want to turn off the cache used when a URL call to a server is made from VBScript running within an application on a Windows machine. What function/method/object do I use to do this? When the call is made for the first time, my Linux based Apache server returns a response back from the CGI Perl script that it is running. However, subsequent runs of the script seem to be using the same response as for the first time, so the data is being cached somewhere. My server logs confirm that the server is not being called in those subsequent times, only in the first time. This is what I am doing. I am using the following code from within a commercial application (don't wish to mention this application, probably not relevant to my problem): With CreateObject("MSXML2.XMLHTTP") .open "GET", "http://myserver/cgi-bin/nsr/nsr.cgi?aparam=1", False .send nsrresponse =.responseText End With Is there a function/method on the above object to turn off caching, or should I be calling a method/function to turn off the caching on a response object before making the URL?   Hello. I have developed a system in PHP which processes #hashtags like on Twitter. Now I'm trying to build a system that will suggest tags as I type. When a user starts writing a tag, a drop-down list should appear beneath the textarea with other tags that begin with the same string. Right now, I have it working where if a user types the hash key (#) the list will show up with the most popular #hashtags. When a tag is clicked, it is inserted at the end of the text in the textarea. I need the tag to be inserted at the cursor location instead. Here's my code; it operates on a textarea with class "facebook_status_text" and a div with class "fbssts_floating_suggestions" that contains an unordered list of links. • Wrangling Control of HTTP Headers in ASP.NET

  I'm working with ASP.NET MVC3, and I'm trying to get absolute control over my headers because a client application that I'm working with expects a very specific content type. What I'm finding when using Fiddler to examine the HTTP traffic is that the text encoding is being returned as part of the header. For example, the client is expecting application/appname in the Content-Type header, but the server is returning application/appname; charset=utf-8. I think the client is using a strict comparison for checking the type, so I want to be able to specify exactly what is emitted in the headers. Right now I have a custom ActionResult in which I clear the headers and then specify only the content type, but the encoding still seems to be added on. How can I remove the encoding from the Content-Type header?

• iPhone, JQTouch and HTML5 audio tags

  I am having an issue with JQTouch (latest beta) and html5 audio tags on 'sub pages' - the audio tag works before any page transitions are done, and cease to work afterward. For example: http://richardprice.dyndns.ws/test.html and http://richardprice.dyndns.ws/test2.html are identical other than I swap the "current" class between the two divs - all the audio tags play the same mp3. On test.html the audio tag on the initial page works, but when you switch to Page 2 the audio tag on that page does not (and sometimes results in a browser crash). Switch back to Page 1 and the audio tag on that page has ceased to work. test2.html is the same test but with the initial pages reversed, and the same thing happens - Page 2 (now the initial page) plays the audio, Page 1 does not, and switching back to Page 2 results in the audio no longer working. Thoughts?

My doctype is triggering standards mode on IE7.

  My current project involves gathering text content from an element and all of its descendents, based on a provided selector. However, I need to disregard text nodes that occur within <script> elements. This is an excerpt of my current code: // get text content of all matching elements for (x = 0; x < selectors.length; x++) { matches = Sizzle(selectors[x], document); for (y = 0; y < matches.length; y++) { match = matches[y]; if (match.innerText) { // IE content += match.innerText + ' '; } else if (match.textContent) { // other browsers content += match.textContent + ' '; } } } It's a bit overly simplistic in that it just returns all text nodes within the element (and its descendants) that matches the provided selector. The solution I'm looking for would return all text nodes except for those that fall within script elements. It doesn't need to be especially high-performance, but I do need it to ultimately be cross-browser compatible. I'm assuming that I'll need to somehow loop through all children of the element that matches the selector and accumulate all text nodes other than ones within <script> elements; it doesn't look like there's any way to identify JavaScript once it's already rolled into the string accumulated from all of the text nodes. I can't use jQuery (for performance/bandwidth reasons), although you may have noticed that I do use its Sizzle selector engine, so jQuery's selector logic is available. • SIFR Newbie: font display problem in non-flash browsers

  Hi, I'm wondering if someone can help me with this as I'm fairly new to siFR and think there is something essential i'm not comprehending in the documentation. I'm having success using siFR 3 (r436) to render fonts and it's working just how I want. However if I turn flash off in any browser the original (no longer rendered) html text displays very badly indeed. I thought that in any non-flash browser my inital stylesheet would be referred to and not siFR.css and I would be able to adjust the html text as a seperate entity. I think i probably developed this bad idea because I remember in earlier siFR versions you had to mess around alot with stylings on the original stylesheet + the sifr-config so you would get corresponding line heights/widths etc between the html and rendered font. (i realise that siFR 3 renders the flash in a different way) So it seems that siFR.css controls both the non-flash text and the rendered font. Anyway my essential noob questions is: how do i get the the original html text to have the same dimensions as the rendered font? thanks for you help

  Hello, I have a big problem. I use additional controls for Wpf. One of them is Telerik RadWindow This control is already templated. Now I want to create custom Window with will inherit from RadWindow, and make custom template, eg. One base window will contains grid and two buttons, second base window will contain two grids (master - detail). The problem is that templates do not support inheritance. Perhaps is another way to template only the content of Winodow? • Share a "deep link" from a Windows 8/WinRT application

  I have searched using many different terms and phrases, and waded through many pages of results, but I have (remarkably) not seen anyone else addressing, even asking, about, this issue. So here goes... Ultimate Goal: Allow a user viewing a content-based page (may contain both text and images) within a Windows Store app to share that content with someone else. Description I am working on taking a fair amount of content and making it available for browsing/navigating as a Windows 8/WinRT/Windows Store (we need a consistent name here) application. One of the desired features is to take advantage of the Share Charm, such that someone viewing a page could share that page with someone else. The ideal behavior is for the application to implement the Share Source contract which would share an email message that contained some explanatory text, a link to get the app from the Windows Store, and a "deep link" into the shared page in the application. Solutions Considered We had originally looked at just generating a PDF representation of the page, but there are very few external libraries that would work under WinRT, and having to include externally licensed code would be problematic as well. Writing our own PDF generation code would out of scope. We have also considered generating a Word document or PowerPoint slide using OpenXML, but again, we run up against the limitaions of WinRT. In this case, it is highly unlikely the OpenXML SDK is useable in a WinRT application. Another thought was to pre-generate all of the pages as .pdf files, store them as resources, and when the Share Charm is invoked, share the .pdf file associated with the current page. The problem here is the application will have at least 150 content pages, and depending on how we break the content down, up to over 600. This would likely cause serious bloat. Where We Are At Thus we have come to sharing URIs. From what I can tell, though, the "deep linking" feature is only intended for use on Secondary Tiles tied to your application. Another avenue I considered was registering a protocol like, "my-special-app:" with the OS and having it fire up the application but that would require HKCR registry access, which is outside the WinRT sandbox. If it matters, we are leaning towards an HTML/JS application, rather than XAML/C#, because the converted content will all be in HTML and the WebView control in WinRT is fairly limited. This decision is not yet final, though. Conclusion So, is this possible, and if so, how would it be done or where can I find documentation on it? Thanks, Dave Parker

• Prevent lazy loading in nHibernate

  Hi, I'm storing some blobs in my database, so I have a Document table and a DocumentContent table. Document contains a filename, description etc and has a DocumentContent property. I have a Silverlight client, so I don't want to load up and send the DocumentContent to the client unless I explicity ask for it, but I'm having trouble doing this. I've read the blog post by Davy Brion. I have tried placing lazy=false in my config and removing the virtual access modifier but have had no luck with it as yet. Every time I do a Session.Get(id), the DocumentContent is retrieved via an outer join. I only want this property to be populated when I explicity join onto this table and ask for it. Any help is appreciated. • Download attachment issue with IE6-8 - non ssl

  I'm facing an issue with file download with IE6-8 in non ssl environment. I've seen a lot of articles about the IE attachment download issue with ssl. As per the articles I tried to set the values of Pragma, Cache-Control headers, but still no luck with it. These are my response headers Cache-Control: private, max-age=5 Date: Tue, 25 May 2010 11:06:02 GMT Pragma: private Content-Length: 40492 Content-Type: application/pdf Content-Disposition: Attachment;Filename="file name.pdf" Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1 I've set the header values after going through some of these sites KB 812935 KB 316431 But these items are related to SSL. I've checked the response body and headers using fiddler, the response body is proper. I'm using window.open(url, "_blank") to download the file, if I change it to window.open(url, "_parent") or change the "Content-Disposition" to 'inline;Filename="file name.pdf"' it works fine. Please help me to solve this problem
