I have a simple non-clickable link within a div that looks like this: It's meant to be a sharable link that the user can copy paste into other things. What I got so far: It all begins with an HTML form which prompts the user for a username and password. From there it post the acquired user/pass to a servlet, GateKeeper. GateKeeper determines if the user/pass combination match any records in the MySQL database. Here is the sql I use: SELECT id FROM Users WHERE username='?' AND password=MD5('?') where the ? indicate information provided the previous HTML form. What I need now: I need some way to store the username and id of the record in the database. GateKeeper redirects the user to a control panel upon success. Therefore, I need a method to reference the username to display simple greetings, etc and also the id so it eliminates unnecessary calls to the database. The control panel may make AJAX calls to Servlets that preform some sort of task to the MySQL database.

Hello, I have some users setup in a MySQL table with different variables. I am trying to figure out what would be the best way to do this. Basically I want to award all of my registered and active users with bids which are stored in another table. So for the Table "users" I have ran this query: SELECT * FROM users WHERE active = 1 AND admin = 0 ORDER BY users.id ASC Which will show all active users who are not administrators. Now I would like to give each one of these users which are identified by the "ID" field in another table. So in the "bids" table I would need to add a new row for each one of those users with all of the same values except for the "user_id" field which will basically match the "id" field of the table "users" What would be the best approach for this. There are approximately 6,000+ users coming up in the first query. Please be gentle as I am not a programmer. Just need some friendly advice.

I have a component that has a sub-component they both use a shared variable from the model. The shared variable needs to be set by the parent component before it can be used by the child component. I did like this in the parent component: <mx:Canvas xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" ... creationComplete="group1_completeHandler(event)" > .... protected function group1_activateHandler(event:Event):void { model.myVariable = something; } .... <components:myCustomComponent> ... <components:myCustomComponent> ... </mx:Canvas> But for some reason when the code inside myCustomComponent tries to use myVariable for the first time I get a "null" object error. This means I guess that the child component gets rendered before the group1_activateHandler gets called and consequently myVariable gets set. What should I do to ensure that the parent container initializes the variable before the child component gets created?

Does it speed up the query at all? I probably could have figured this out by a google search but I wanted to ask my first question and see how this works. Slide Effect happening too many times

Hello all, I call this functions on onmouseover and onmouseout for several divs. //Takes effect on divs with id, 62,63,64,65... function slide_it(id){ $('#options_'+id).slideToggle('slow'); } The problem is that if I move my mouse over and then mouse out, then again, mouse over and then mouse out. If I do this several times, the slide effect happens the same number of times I moved my mouse over and out of the div, as expected. But I can't figure out how I can do this once? I can set a variable, but I have several divs that this function is used by and I can't think of a simple way of doing this rather than storing things into an array, but this is messy! I really appreciate any help on this that is simple to implement! Thanks all for any help

How can I find if an arbitrary process is running under wow64?

I need a tool which will discover whether an arbitrary process is running in x86 or x64 mode on a machine. I need to do this programatically from C++, based on a process ID. There has to be some way to do this (as you can clearly see it from the task manager). Does anyone know of a windows api that will tell you, given a process ID, whether the application is running under wow64? Another approach would be to figure out, based on the process id, the executable name/path that is running and try to read the PE headers out of the file. Does anyone have a code snippet that would accomplish that?

I have this query which displays some properties and count the number of references to it from an other table: SELECT p.id,p.propName ( SELECT COUNT(*) FROM propLoc WHERE propLoc.propID = p.id ) AS number FROM property as p WHERE p.category != 'natural' This generates a good table with all the information I want to filter: id | propName | number 3 | Name 1 | 3 4 | Name 2 | 1 5 | Name 3 | 0 6 | Name 4 | 10 etc etc I now want to filter out the properties with number <= 0 So I tried to add an AND number > 0 But it reacts with Unknown column 'number' in 'where clause' apparently you can't filter on a name specified by a subquery? How can I achieve my goal?

In order to fix a bug, I have to iterate over all the rows in a table, updating a cached count of children to what its real value should be. The structure of the things in the table form a tree. In rails, the following does what I want: Thing.all.each do |th| Thing.connection.update( " UPDATE #{Thing.quoted_table_name} SET children_count = #{th.children.count} WHERE id = #{th.id} " ) end Is there any way of doing this in a single MySQL query? Alternatively, is there any way of doing this in multiple queries, but in pure MySQL? I want something like UPDATE table_name SET children_count = ( SELECT COUNT(*) FROM table_name AS tbl WHERE tbl.parent_id = table_name.id ) except the above doesn't work (I understand why it doesn't).
