  • Trouble with cross network permissions for an image through iis7 in an asp.net virtual directory

    I have load balanced web servers My web application has a function that allows the user to upload their company logo to display in the application header obviously, when they upload the logo image file, it needs to be in a central location or otherwise, the file will not be accessible to the other server on the load balancer. in order to be able to upload the image through the application other on one of either servers and then display it on both servers I need a virtual directory in IIS on both servers that point to a third "file server" (this is the "AcctData" directory shown below with a sub folder "images") the problem is that no matter what I do, I run into a permissioning issue If I use pass-through authentication I get a 401 error. If I use a specific user that's set up on both boxes, I get a 500 error. The "Default" application under "CP" (shown in the image below) uses an AppPool that is a Domain Account that has admin permissions on all the servers. I've also tried sticking a Web.config file in the "AcctData" directory allowing anonymous access. Nothing is working though.

  • How can I display and log PHP errors on IIS7?

    We're running PHP 5.2.5 on an IIS 7 Server and we're having problems making PHP errors visible... At the moment whenever we have a PHP error the server sends back a 500 error with the message "The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred." This might be a good setting for production websites but it's rather annoying on a development server... ;-) I have tried configuring php.ini to display errors to the screen as well as log them to a specific folder but it seems that the Server catches all errors before and prevents and handling by PHP... Does someone know what we have to do to make IIS display PHP errors on screen? Any links, tipps or tutorials on the subject would be appreciated!

    When I try to open a project's CodeAnalysis page I get the error "An error occurred trying to load the page. Only TrueType fonts are supported. This is not a TrueType font." I also get a very simmilar ExceptionBox when I want to open the solution's propertywindow: "Only TrueType fonts are supported. This is not a TrueType font." Has anyone experiences with this error?

  • PHP Mail() to Gmail = Spam

    Recently Gmail has started marking emails sent directly from my server (using php mail()) as spam and I'm having problems trying to find the issue. If I send an exact copy of the same email from my email client it goes to the Gmail inbox. The emails are plain text, around 7 lines long and contain a URL link in plain text. As the emails sent from my client are getting through fine I'm thinking that the content isn't the issue.     When using ANT to build my Java application I keep getting this error. I have tried multiple times to use SQLJDBC.JAR and SQLJDBC4.JAR but continually receive this error message. I am completely stumpped why this error is received even after upgrading to sqljdbc4.jar. [javadoc] java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.6 is not supported by this driver. Use the sqljdbc4.jar class library, which provides support for JDBC 4.0.

  • Arch Linux with an nginx/django setup refuses to display ANYTHING

    I'm on Amazon Ec2, with an Arch Linux server. While I truly am loving it, I'm having the issue of actually getting nginx to display anything. Everytime I try to throw my hostname into the browser, the browser states that it's not available for some reason - almost as if the host doesn't even exist. One thing I'd like to know is, how can I get this up and running? Is there a specific arch linux configuration I have to do to make it web accessible? I have port 80 open, as well as port 22. I've tried using gunicorn, python-flup, and nginx. The thing is that Django itself is working fine, and my permissions to the document root of the where the site files are stored is 777. Ontop of that, I have a git repo which works perfectly fine, and django, python, and runfcgi all start without issues. The same goes for gunicorn, when I do a gunicorn_django -b 0.0.0.0:8000 in my document root.   • How to setup prawn on heroku when installed as a git submodule

    I have a rails app that I am trying to deploy to heroku. This app generates pdfs using prawn. I installed prawn as a git submodule rather than as a gem as this is what is recommended on the prawn website (here). This has not worked well with heroku so far though. As stated on heroku's application constraints page submodules are not supported so I followed their instructions to track the submodule in the main project and tried again. This has not worked and when I access my application I get the following error: App failed to start An error happened during the initialization of your app. This may be due to a typo, wrong number of arguments, or calling a function that doesn’t exists. Check the stack trace below for specific details. Make sure the app is working locally in production mode, by running it with RAILS_ENV (for Rails apps) or RACK_ENV (for Sinatra or other rack apps) set to production. e.g. RAILS_ENV=production script/server. Original Error /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:in `gem_original_require': /disk1/home/slugs/208590_03c9c22_67f5/mnt/app/controllers/invoices_controller.rb:37: syntax error, unexpected ')' (SyntaxError) ).to_pdf(@invoice) (and then a whole lot more that I'll spare you from) The .to_pdf function described in the last line is called in a controller in exactly the way described in the prawn how-to that I linked to above so my interpretation of the error message is that prawn is not being installed/detected. Does anyone know how I can address this? I'm new to heroku so have little idea how to approach this. Is the submodule approach for prawn dead in the water from the get-go? Do I need to install it as a gem instead. I'd rather keep it as a submodule just because that works for now and I don't want to break it.

  • NGINX : Proxy pass intercepting 5xx errors - Possible to differentiate between ones fired by backed vs ones fired by nginx itself?

    We use proxy_intercept_errors ( http://wiki.nginx.org/HttpProxyModule#proxy_intercept_errors ) with our backends. We intercept a number of status codes, including a few 5xx ones. Our 5xx (each 500 has its own) handler has an access_log so we can see all the 5xx errors returned to the user in a nice clean logged format. The issue with this is that as it stands now, we cannot tell weather a 5xx was returned to the user by nginx or intercepted from our backend. Is there any way to differentiate between the two? The error I got was 404 method not found when I am trying to GetResponse from the web request.
