    How to persist XMLType column via JPA/Hibernate? As per oracle documentation, there are two ways in declaring storage clause for XMLType. They are, LOB and Object-Relational. I dont want to go with LOB. I have schema and register into database. I have not have example on how to design my Entity for XMLType. Does any one know please share it?

    Question What is the fastest way to find if an IP address exists in a file that contains IP addresses sorted as: 219.93.88.62 219.94.181.87 219.94.193.96 220.1.72.201 220.110.162.50 220.126.52.187 220.126.52.247 Constraints No database (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.). Infrequent pre-processing is allowed (see possibilities section) Would be nice not to have to load the file each query (131Kb) Uses under 5 megabytes of disk space File Details One IP address per line 9500+ lines Possible Solutions Create a directory hierarchy (radix tree?) then use is_dir() (sadly, this uses 87 megabytes)

  • Increasing SQL Server / Sage performance with SSD? (Dell PE T410)

    I have a client wanting better performance of their Sage (Accpac & CRM) server (v5.5, soon to be v7). It's running on 1 of 2 Hyper-V VMs (Svr2008) on a Dell PE T410 server with 24GB of RAM (1333MHz) & dual quad-core, and both VMs (only their C: drives) are on a single RAID5 array. All clients connect via 1Gb ethernet. The 2nd VM is SBS2008 with 9GB RAM (& all SBS dbs & company data are on a separate RAID5 array), & 3GB RAM for the Svr2008 hypervisor. I've given the Sage/SQL Server VM all the RAM I can (12GB) & SQL Server RAM caching (~8GB, never exceeds ~7.5GB, eg. entire db can now be cached in RAM) and that's helped significantly. Upgrading the Hypervisor to Svr2012 is an obvious step, but probably not a dramatic improvement? What about an SSD for this Sage/SQL Server VM (VM = 100GB, <10GB for the actual live DB) ? Can SSDs be put into the SAS hot-swap bays? Or will I have to use the mobo SATA(3Gbps?) ports, or PCI-E SSD card? Should SSDs be RAIDed for this situation? Or is SSD's higher reliability offsetting the need for RAID1/5/10? (I have nightly full disk backups) New territory for me, would appreciate some feedback. Thanks, Anthony.

  • NativeWindow WndProc not receiving messages

    Could someone shed some light on why my WndProc method as implemented below isn't receiving any messages? If I put this class below in a WinForms application and pass in that application's handle, WndProc receives messages as I would expect. However, using the IntPtr returned from GetForegroundWindow() as I have below doesn't yield the same results.     Hi there, I'm considering writing a custom IPermission implementation but am not clear as to how it should work. I've already implemented IPrincipal and IIdentity. What I would like to accomplish is to be able to check permissions vis a vis the current IPrincipal's authorizations rather than its roles. Generally, authorizations are read/add-delete/update/none for a given type. So I would like to write something like this: [CustomPermission(SecurityAction.Demand, Type = typeof(Foo), MinimumAuthorization = AuthorizationFlags.Read)] public void SomeMethod(){} Is this possible? I've looked over the code at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.security.ipermission.aspx. This shows how to implement the interface, but I don't understand how the above pseudo-code would be able to check against the IPrincipal's authorizations for the type. Any help or resource references would be appreciated. Joni

    I have a fairly simple requirement -I have a table with the following (relevant) structure. with cte as( select 1 id,'AA,AB,AC,AD' names union all select 2,'BA,BB' union all select 3,'CA,CB,CC,CD,CE' union all select 4,'DA,DB,DC' ) i would like to create a select statement which will split each "names" column into multiple rows. For example the first row should produce 1,'AA' 1,'AB' 1,'AC' 1,'AD' Can we do it using only SQL. This is failry easy to do in Oracle.

  • ETW tracking from .net, user mode and driver

    Hi everyone, We have an application that parts of it are in .net, c++ usermode and C++ drivers. The application is divided into several executables that run on demand and communication with each other using LPC(the processes run in different sessions(winlogon)). Currently We have a home written logging service to which .net and c++ usermode communicate by sending LPC messages. The driver uses DbgPrint and is not always enabled, as it causes the code to run 30% slower(we have lots of logging). I want to have all the logs written in one place and preferably not writing the logger myself(I love log4cpp and log4net). The requirement is to write from all the executables and drivers into one place and to have minimal overhead. I have read that ETW is way to go, however I wasn't able to find already written logger that uses it like log4cpp or log4net. So basically my questions is, do you know if there is already implemented ETW appender for log4cpp and log4net I can use ?

  • Using ClaimsPrincipalPermissionAttribute, how do I catch the SecurityException?

    In my MVC application I have a Controller Action that Deletes a customer, which I'm applying Claims Based Authorization to using WIF. Problem: if someone doesn't have access they see an exception in the browser (complete with stacktrace), but I'd rather just redirect them. This works and allows me to redirect: public ActionResult Delete(int id) { try { ClaimsPrincipalPermission.CheckAccess("Customer", "Delete"); _supplier.Delete(id); return RedirectToAction("List"); } catch (SecurityException ex) { return RedirectToAction("NotAuthorized", "Account"); } } This works but throws a SecurityException I don't know how to catch (when the user is not authorized): [ClaimsPrincipalPermission(SecurityAction.Demand, Operation = "Delete", Resource = "Customer")] public ActionResult Delete(int id) { _supplier.Delete(id); return RedirectToAction("List"); } I'd like to use the declarative approach, but not sure how to handle unauthorized requests.     We want to mirror our current production app server (Oracle Application Server) onto our staging server. As it stands right now, various things are out of sync, and what may work in testing/QA can easily fail in production because of settings/patch/etc inconsistencies. I was thinking what would be best is to clone the entire disk daily and push it onto the staging server... Would this be the best method...?

  • Server Restart's and Respective Orders

    EDIT:Not meaning to be disrespectful to any of the answers, but, the main question was whether rebooting a DC at the beginning of a cycle, then all the other servers, or rebooting it at the end once all the others are back online - is there a reason for doing it either way? I'm still not sure based on current responses. This will most likely seem like a fairly, maybe even stupid, question, but it's something I have been wondering about. As part of a regular process for clients servers are restarted remotely after patches and every client tends to have a similar order - but there always seems to be a small debate when it comes down to when do you reboot your DC. For example, 4 servers, 1 DC, 1xExchange, 1xBESX and 1xRandom, lets say it has some CRM software installed, is it best to reboot the DC first, then Exchange, then BESX and so on - or reboot all the servers, then reboot the DC last? - Perhaps it doesn't matter at all and it's just a case of how you have always done it. Would it change in a Hyper-V environment for example, with a physical DC, 1 VHost with all your servers virtualised on that Host? Rebooting the VHost and Virtual Machines first, then the DC at the end, or vice versa? Thanks!

    Hi, i am trying to automate manual testing of modules in my project. We are dealing with IBM Websphere Message queue software. We have a trigger component written in core java which when executed polls for availability of message in the configured queue. Its an indefinite while loop that keeps the trigger component running. I have written test cases in JUnit to put message in the queue and now will i be able to start/stop the trigger component on demand? Invoking the trigger component keeps it running and i am not getting the control back to check the expected output. If i start it in thread then the log files to which the trigger component is supposed to update when processing the message is not getting updated. How can i resolve this situation. Your suggestion and directions is highly appreciated. Thanks, -Vijay

    How likely is a revision conflict when using an update handler? Should I concern myself with conflict-handling code when writing a robust update function? As described in Document Update Handlers, CouchDB 0.10 and later allows on-demand server-side document modification. Update handlers can process non-JSON formats; but the other major features are these: An HTTP front-end to arbitrarily complex document modification code Similar code needn't be written for all possible clients—a DRY architecture Execution is faster and less likely to hit a revision conflict I am unclear about the third point. Executing locally, the update handler will run much faster and with lower latency. But in situations with high contention, that does not guarantee a successful update. Or does the update handler guarantee a successful update?

    hello, From past few days I'm trying to develop a regex that fetch all the external links from the web pages given to it using grep. Here is my grep command grep -h -o -e "\(\(mailto:\|\(\(ht\|f\)tp\(s\?\)\)\)\://\)\{1\}\(.*\?\)" "/mnt/websites_folder/folder_to_search" -r now the grep seem to return everything after the external links in that given line Example if an html file contain something like this on same line GoogleYahoo then the given grep command return the following result http://www.google.com">Google</a><p><a href='https://yahoo.com'>Yahoo</a></p> the idea here is that if an html file contain more than one links(`irrespective in a,img etc`) in same line then the regex should fetch only the links and not all content of that line I managed to developed the same in rubular.com the regex is as follow ("|')(\b((ht|f)tps?:\/\/)(.*?)\b)("|') with work with the above input but iam not able to replicate the same in grep can anyone help I can't modify the html file so don't ask me to do that neither I can look for each specific tags and check their attributes to to get external links as it addup processing time and my application doesn't demand that Thank You

  • Visual Studio 2012 not building dependent projects

    I just upgraded a VS2010 project to VS2012 and am now having a problem where dependent projects are not building on demand. For instance, say I have the following projects in my solution: Library A ConsoleApp 1 Where ConsoleApp 1 references Library A. If I change the signature of a method in a class in Library A and run ConsoleApp 1, there will be a compiler error due to ConsoleApp 1 not seeing my changes because running ConsoleApp 1 did NOT cause Library A to build. If I manually build Library A, then manually build ConsoleApp 1, it works fine. However, I would expect that running ConsoleApp 1 should cause any dependent projects to be rebuilt before launching. Could I have something configured incorrectly? Or is this a bug in VS2012?

  • JSplitPane giving wrong resize cursor with GTK LAF?

    Running the official JSplitPane demo http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/splitpane.html on my Ubuntu system gives a resize cursor like -- over the divider. The behavior of native split panes gives <-- resize cursors. Does this qualify as a bug that should be reported to Sun (eh, Oracle)? Is there a workaround?
