    I want to get the hardware address of my mac's ethernet card. In all samples I saw in include on . Which seems not to exist on my system. GCC throws an error saying he doesn't know the type IOEthernetAddress. Is assert.h necessary for my task? It would be great if someone coud give me a working sample.

  • eclipse 3.4 (ganymede) package collision with type

    We have a package that ends with exception e.g. package a.b.c.exception; Our code base had no issues up till eclipse 3.3, however when we shifted to eclipse 3.4, it started giving errors related to this package: "The package a.b.c.exception collides with a type" When I refactor the package name to a.b.c.exceptions, there are no issues. Is this due to a bug in eclipse 3.4 or is there some setting to rectify this behavior?

    I remember, I have a GoF book back in college about design patterns which helped me a lot with my C and C++ programming, since my jump ship to Rails I was trying to use those design patterns I learned previously, Rails is a relatively new paradigm to me, plurals, verbs, REST, DRY.. Can you give me a recommended book for Rails that I can easily understand what I previously learned back in College. P.S. I suspect Matz knew about the GoF book, and applied it on Ruby... :-)

    I'm using the following config: ActionMailer::Base.smtp_settings = { :address => "smtp.gmail.com", :port => 587, :authentication => :plain, :enable_starttls_auto => true, :user_name => "[email protected]", :password => "sap" } When I send the mail, log shows mail is sent. I can see the mail in logger. But, mail is not delivered to recipient email.

  • Differnce between linux write and sendfile syscall

    Hi Im programming webserver (C), which should send big files. My question is: What are the main differneces in two syscalls: write and sendfile. Does sendfile depends on size of socket system buffer ? I noticed that write often writes less then i requested. For example, if got many requests for one file: should i open it, copy into memory and use 'write', or maybe i can do 'sendfile' for each client ? thx in advance for all answers

How do I install the prettify scripts into the blog domain? Would it be better (if indeed its possible) to link to a shared copy somewhere? I have webspace on a different domain. Would that help?     We have installed Cygwin on a Windows Server 2008 Standard server and it working pretty well. Unfortunately we still have a big problem. We want to connect using a public key through SSH which doesn't work. It always falls back to using password login. We have appended our public key to ~/.ssh/authorized_keys on the server and we have our private and public key in ~/.ssh/id_dsa respective ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub on the client.
