  • Subversion freaking out on me!

    I have two copies of a site, one is the production copy, and the other is the development copy. I recently added everything in the production to a subversion repository hosted on our linux backup server. I created a tag of the current version and I was done. I then copied the development copy overtop of the production copy (on my local machine where I have everything checked out). There are only 10-20 files changed, however, when I use tortoise SVN to do a commit, it says every file has changed. The diff file generated shows subversion removing everything, and replacing it with the new version (which is the exact same). What is going on? How do I fix it?   • Reserve space for initially hidden widget in QVBoxLayout

    I am using a QVBoxLayout to arrange a vertical stack of widgets. I want some of them to be initially hidden and only show up when a check box is checked. Here is an example of the code I'm using. This code acheives the functionality I desire, but it doesn't seem to reserve space for the two initially hidden widgets. When I check the checkbox, they become visible, but everything is kind of scrunched to accomodate them. If I leave them initially visible, everything is laid out just the way I would like it. Is there any way to make the QVBoxLayout reserve space for these widgets even if they're initially invisible?

  • Is there a way to load an existing connection string for Linq to SQL from an app.config file?

    I'm running into a really annoying problem with my Linq to SQL project. When I add everything in under the web project everything goes as expected and I can tell it to use my existing connection string stored in the web.config file and the Linq code pulls directly from the ConfigurationManager. This all turns ugly once I move the code into its own project. I’ve created an app.config file, put the connection string in there as it was in the web.config but when I try to add another table in the IDE keeps forcing me to either hardcode the connection string or creates a Settings file and puts it in there, which then adds a new entry into the app.config file with a new name. Is there a way keep my Linq code in its own project yet still refer back to my config file without the IDE continuously hardcoding the connection string or creating the Settings file? I’m converting part of my DAL over to use Linq to SQL so I’d like to use the existing connection string that our old code is using as well as keep the value in a common location, and one spot, instead of in a number of spots. Manually changing the mode to WebSettings instead of AppSettings works untill I try to add a new table, then it goes back to hardcoding the value or recreating the Settings file. I also tried to switch the project type to be a web project and then rename my app.config to web.config and then everything works as I’d like it to. I’m just not sure if there are any downfalls to keeping this as a web project since it really isn't one. The project only contains the Linq to SQL code and an implementation of my repository classes. My project layout looks like this Website -connectionString.config -web.config (refers to connectionString.config) Middle Tier -Business Logic -Repository Interfaces -etc. DAL -Linq to SQL code -Existing SPROC code -connectionString.config (linked from the web poject) -app.config (refers to connectionString.config)

I'm using cron to backup mysql databases and want to also automate the process of copying the .gz files a different web host. Any information on the limit of file size that can be copied would also be great. The backup file size range from 100 MB to few GB.

  • Running PowerShell file in C#, how to do that in an ASP.NET form?

    I have made a PowerShell script, which is running perfectly fine and generating a text file when I run it standalone. I wanted to automate that whenever my ASP.NET page loads I invoke a process from C# that calls my PowerShell script and executes that leading to a text file being generated. The problem is the script is being called, but not excuted. Giving some error about permissions, etc.

  • More efficient R / Sweave / TeXShop work-flow?

    I've now got everything to work properly on my Mac OS X 10.6 machine so that I can create decent looking LaTeX documents with Sweave that include snippets of R code, output, and LaTeX formatting together. Unfortunately, I feel like my work-flow is a bit clunky and inefficient: Using TextWrangler, I write LaTeX code and R code (surrounded by <<= above and @ below R code chunk) together in one .Rnw file. After saving changes, I call the .Rnw file from R using the Sweave command Sweave(file="/Users/mymachine/Documents/Assign4.Rnw", syntax="SweaveSyntaxNoweb") In response, R outputs the following message: You can now run LaTeX on 'Assign4.tex' So then I find the .tex file (Assign4.tex) in the R directory and copy it over to the folder in my documents ~/Documents/ where the .Rnw file is sitting (to keep everything in one place). Then I open the .tex file (e.g. Assign4.tex) in TeXShop and compile it there into pdf format. It is only at this point that I get to see any changes I have made to the document and see if it 'looks nice'. Is there a way that I can compile everything with one button click? Specifically it would be nice to either call Sweave / R directly from TextWrangler or TeXShop. I suspect it might be possible to code a script in Terminal to do it, but I have no experience with Terminal. Please let me know if there's any other things I can do to streamline or improve my work flow.

  • How do you use glFrustrum in OpenGL ES1 on iPhone

    So I am using Xcode 3.2.1 and am trying to make an iPhone OpenGL ES1 project. The default template for an opengl project is ok, but I have been trying to split the code up so not everything is done per frame on the drawView() call. I have a seperate setupRC method that sets the lighting, turns on depth test, turns on culling and sets the clear color. This is called on the init of the EAGLView and this works just fine. I have took the glViewport() and glFrustrum() calls and put them at the end of the resizeFromLayer() method in the ES1Renderer.m file. This gets hit when the app starts and when the app gets resized as it should. Now the problem is the frustrum's far seems to be messed up, as in all my objects get cut / clipped off. I tried adjusting the camera position and angle and it still all objects are cut / clipped. I increased the far from 1000.0f to 30000.0f and still get the same result. What is crazy is that if i call both the glViewport() and glFrustrum() calls in the drawView() every frame everything looks right. Nothing is clipped and looks like i want it. From everything I've been reading the frustrum and viewport calls only need to be called when the window / gets made and resizes, but If I don't call it every frame in my project it doesn't work.   • Secure automated SSH/SFTP after reboot

    I need to give a daemon ssh access to a particular server. Currently I have it setup to use ssh keys and a keychain, but the trouble with this method is if a reboot occurs. Unless I'm missing something, I would need to login after a system reboot and add the key to the keychain. Is there a way I could avoid/automate this? I'm considering using expect if I can't find any other way.

  • Source folders for a maven project in eclipse

    Hello all, I have a that uses maven... and I want to put it in my working environment with eclipse(Galileo)... the project is in a svn server, and I can create check out the project and everything looks OK. I even can run the unit test and everything is working there. However, now that everything is there I wanted to work in the code, and oh surprise there are no packages in my project... I mean all the source code is in the src folder and browsing through it i can see all my files, ut if I open the files from there, the files are opened as text files with no coloring, but worst no help at all about errors in compilation. I don't know what im I doing wrong now, because I had the same project in other machine and it was working well. So here is what I did, please let me know if you notice if I did something wrong, miss any steps or anything that can help me: In the SVN Repository (Using subclipse 1.6.10) I added my SVN Repository Browsed to the folder where I have the pom file Right Click Check out as a Maven project...(Using m2eclipse 0.10.020100209) Used the default options and finish. The projects were created with no problem. I said projects because this maven project has modules, and each module became a project in eclipse. Back in the java perspective, Right click in the project, Run as maven test(Using JWebUnitTest, because I am testing a servlet) BUILD SUCCESS!! But as I said there is not packages so I can't really develop in this environment. Any help?? Thanks!

  • WindowsFormsApplicationBase SplashScreen makes login form ignore keypresses until I click on it - how to debug?

    My WinForms app has a simple modal login form, invoked at startup via ShowDialog(). When I run from inside Visual Studio, everything works fine. I can just type in my User ID, hit the Enter key, and get logged in. But when I run a release build directly, everything looks normal (the login form is active, there's a blinking cursor in the User ID MaskedEditBox), but all keypresses are ignored until I click somewhere on the login form. Very annoying if you are used to doing everything from the keyboard. I've tried to trace through the event handlers, and to set the focus directly with code, to no avail. Any suggestions how to debug this (outside of Visual Studio), or failing that - a possible workaround?   • Prototyping Qt/C++ in Python

    I want to write a C++ application with Qt, but build a prototype first using Python and then gradually replace the Python code with C++. Is this the right approach, and what tools (bindings, binding generators, IDE) should I use? Ideally, everything should be available in the Ubuntu repositories so I wouldn't have to worry about incompatible or old versions and have everything set up with a simple aptitude install. Is there any comprehensive documentation about this process or do I have to learn every single component, and if yes, which ones? Right now I have multiple choices to make: Qt Creator, because of the nice auto completion and Qt integration. Eclipse, as it offers support for both C++ and Python. Eric (haven't used it yet) Vim PySide as it's working with CMake and Boost.Python, so theoretically it will make replacing python code easier. PyQt as it's more widely used (more support) and is available as a Debian package. Edit: As I will have to deploy the program to various computers, the C++-solution would require 1-5 files (the program and some library files if I'm linking it statically), using Python I'd have to build PyQt/PySide/SIP/whatever on every platform and explain how to install Python and everything else.

  • Iphone: XML image problem

    Hi! I have a question about parsing XML and putting it into a table. I parsed the following elements from a RSS feed : title, dc:creator and enclosure url (= an image). The parsing is working, i can see everything showing up in the console. But when i try to load everything into the tablecell, everything shows up except for the image. So i figured that the problem must be in the CellForRowatIndexPath method in the RootViewController.m ( or in the TableCell.m) What am i doing wrong? Please help! Ive been struggling for days with this and just cant seem to figure it out!     have a settings dialog/activity where I allow the user to change the locale. Within that activity i call Resources res = ctx.getResources(); // Change locale settings on the device DisplayMetrics dm = res.getDisplayMetrics(); android.content.res.Configuration conf = res.getConfiguration(); conf.locale = new Locale(language_code.toLowerCase(), coutry_code.toUpperCase()); res.updateConfiguration(conf, dm); and call onChanged() for my settings ListView... everything changes perfectly. Very nice. Then I hit the back button to go back to the previous activity thinking everything should be switched; nope. Everything is still in the previous locale. So I added the above code in the onResume() of the activity thinking that would do it; nope. Also, when I click the menu button of this activity again (not first time) I do not get called in onCreateOptionsMenu() it just displays the previous menu. My question is what is the correct way to force existing activities to reload using the new local?

    When working with Crystal Report Field Objects and attempting to set "EnableSuppress" to False or alter the position or width of a field object is generating an "Invalid Object Format Name" error. The debugger shows all my code running without error until attempting to actually load the report. At that point, it will run the first couple without problem, then it fails when messing with a field object, and none of the rest will run. The code is shown below. Everything that generates an error is a FieldObject, but not all fieldObjects generate errors. In the code below, everything in Section2 is a TextObject and everything in Section3 is a FieldObject.   • Wordpress > Transfer google verification file to root directory on plugin activation/install

    I've got a wordpress plugin which presets several settings in a wordpress site and creates some default pages which are the same for all my sites. I would like to include an html file in my plugin zip package that is placed into the site's root directory "as is" (same file name, etc) The file is my google verification file, which is the same for all my sites, so I'd like to save a few steps and automate the process of installing it, along with my default setup steps that my plugin handles. Any help, much appreciated.

  • Parse contents of directory to bash command in a script

    I have the directory ~/fooscripts/ and inside there are foo1.txt, foo2.txt, etc etc I have a command that takes the file foo1.txt as input and does some calculation. The output location etc is handled internally in fooprog fooprog -user-data=foo1.txt I would like to automate the whole thing in a bash script so that the script will parse all txt files in ~/fooscripts/ sequentially. I am a newbie in bash. Could anyone give me a hint?
