• How can I use django.core.files.File

  The docs for django.core.files.File imply I can do this: print File(open(path)).url but the File object has no attribute 'url' However, django.db.models.fields.files.FieldFile extends File and does have all the attributes described in the docs for File, but I can't create one without giving it a model field. All I want it something that does what the docs for django.core.files.File (link above) say it does, take a python file and give it attributes like 'url' and 'path' and 'name', can anyone help? • Rotating a full 360 degrees in WPF 3D

  Hi, I have a ModelVisual3D of a cube and I want to animate it to rotate around its axis for 360 degrees. I make a RoationTransform3D which I tell to rotate 360 but it doesn't rotate at all, also if you say 270 degrees it rotates only 90 degrees but in the opposite direction. I guess he computer calculates the "shortest path" of the rotation. The best solution I have come up with is to make one animation turn 180 and after it finishes call another 180 to complete the full rotation. Is there a way to do it in one animation? • WPF Animation on scrollviewer children clipped by scrollviewer

  Hey folks, I'm hoping I have a fairly simple problem that can be fixed easily as it seems like I'm just missing something basic from the WPF world. I have a scrollviewer wrapping a stackpanel which contains several images, these images have animations to increasing in size when the mouse passes over them. All works fine without the scrollviewer, now I've added the scrollviewer, the animation works but only inside the scrollviewer; the increasing size isn't being allowed to overlap the scrollviewer. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks, Becky

• Refreshing UIScrollView / Animation, timing (Objective-C)

  I have a UIScrollView that is displaying a list of data. Right now, when the user adds one more item to the list, I can extend the content size of the UIScrollView and scroll down smoothly using setContentOffset and YES to animated. When the user removes an item from the list, I want to resize the content size of the UIScrollView, and scroll back up one step also in an animated fashion. How can I get the ordering right? Right now, if I resize the content size before scrolling back up, the scroll isn't animated. I tried scrolling back up before resizing the content size, but that still didn't give a smooth transition. Is there a way to finish the scrolling animation BEFORE resizing the content size? Thanks

• Darkening UIView while flipping over using UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromRight

  I'm using a standard animation block to flip over from one view to another, like this: [UIView beginAnimations:@"FlipAnimation" context:self]; [UIView setAnimationTransition:UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromRight forView:self.view cache:NO]; [UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:NO]; [containerView exchangeSubviewAtIndex:1 withSubviewAtIndex:0]; [UIView commitAnimations]; During the animation's course, the "from" view darkens as it begins to flip over. Since I'm using nearly identical views on both sides which don't cover the whole view (it's meant to represent a physical card being flipped over), this looks absolutely horrible. Using [UIColor clearColor] as the backgroundColor property for every associated UIView didn't help one bit as transparent areas seem to get darkened as well. Any ideas on how I could get rid of this darkening effect?

[UIView commitAnimations]; My question is, how do I set that delegate reference to nil in my dealloc method? Is there some way to retain a reference to an animation? Or fetch animations in progress?

The results are currently using a TileList & itemRenderer to display, and now I'd like to add an animation effect when the user filters their results. I know that you can use the itemsChangeEffect to create an animation effect when the user drags and moves result itmes. So I'd like to know if there's a way to create a similar effect triggered by the filtering on the comboboxes? Thanks.

• jQuery UI Slider - Animation of handle and scroll content not in sync

  Im having troubles getting the jQuery UI Slider customized for my purposes. On load the slider and its content should automatically animate to a certain position. Ideally it should animate to the very right, then stop and then animate back (as a loop) as long as the user doesn't hovers over scroll content or slider. Following my default slider setup (http://jsfiddle.net/mayko/j6WuE/1/): var scrollbar = $("#slider").slider({ animate: 3000, min: 0, max: $("#timeline_content .items").width(), change: handleSlider, slide: handleSlider }); function handleSlider(e, ui) { $("#timeline_content").stop().animate({scrollLeft: ui.value}, scrollbar.slider("option", "animate")); } If i now try to set the value like this: $('#slider').slider({'value': 1000}); The scroll content nicely animates, but the handle just jumps to that new position. Even if I click on the slider track itself the animation of scroll content and slider handle are not in sync. Does anyone got a solution?

  Hello, I have a UL and I'm working to dynamically add a new LI to the top of the UL with some animation. I have the following so far which works ok: $("#container").prepend('<li id="newhere"><input type="checkbox" /><span class="listTitle">Im new here</span><ul></ul></li>').hide().slideDown("slow"); #container is the UL The problem with the above is that is hides the entire UL and then slides the entire UL down and I just want the NEW LI that was prepended to animate.   Hi, Does anyone know the current state of SVG SMIL animation support in the popular browsers? It looks like Safari, Chrome, and Opera support it. Firefox has confusing reports in their dev pages about SMIL support having been added, but I don't see it as of v3.6: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216462 I am ignoring IE since they don't even support SVG at all, and probably never will, much less SMIL. The other thing - just comparing this test page between Safari, Chrome, and Opera: http://srufaculty.sru.edu/david.dailey/svg/ovaling.svg looks like Opera is the only one that renders it correctly. Should we not be using SMIL - kind of looks half-baked in all the browsers (sadly)? Blast. Thanks

  I am trying to create a simple animation which includes face of a famous character. For example Santa Clause. The face and the lips of the character will act according to the given input message. For example if a string is inputed then the lips of the character will be opened and closed till the end of the string while the given input message is vocalized using a text to speech converter. Moreover if the " :) " is used the character in the animation will smile. How could I do this? I was told that I can create this type of animations using "smill". • Modal View Controller with keyboard on landscape iPad changes location when dismissed

  I present a modal view controller on my on my iPad with UIModalPresentationFormSheet presentation style and UIModalTransitionStyleCoverVertical transition style. The Modal View Controller contains a UIWebView with some TextFields on it. When the user taps one of the text fields the keyboard comes up. I have noticed that in landscape mode after the keyboard is shown, if I try to dismiss the modal view controller with animation the view changes its position from the center of the screen to the left side just before the animation starts.. This happens only if the keyboard is up and only in landscape mode on the iPad. If the user closes the modal view without pressing on any text field this doesn't happen. Anyone familiar with this strange behavior?

• Unable to use opacity animation w/ position:relative on children

  Consider the following (applies to all IE6+ browsers -- including IE8): <div id="picture"> <div class="thumb" style="position: relative;"><img .. /></div> <p>Some description</p> </div> When I animate the opacity down to 0 it only works if I change the .thumb class to position: static. This has bigger problems because I use that to constrain absolutely positioned children to that container. I've tried all the hacks I have discovered, none work (bg-color, zoom, etc). You can see an example here: http://chovy.dyndns.org/test/opacity3.html I need to use position: relative on the real world case throughout the container that is getting the animation.

When I click on a country(row), it has to push the same view controller's view with cities under that country. I need to see the slide animation, which we usally get while pushing views in navigator.   I'm trying to animate a rotation using CATransform3DMakeRotation, but the problem is once the animation is finished, the image goes back to its initial position, i.e back to zero. But I'd like to keep it where it finished rotating. How would I do that? edit What I'm trying to do is to create the same compass which comes with the new iPhone. Basically the locationmanager gives me new headings every few seconds (or several per second). Using the new heading and the timestamp, I was trying to get a smooth animation of the image but not getting anywhere. The only thing which seems to work is applying the transform directly, e.g. compassimage.layer.transform = CATransform3DMakeRotation(newHeading.trueHeading *M_PI/180,0,0,1.0): but that's not animated...

  Hi, I'm trying to do smooth animation in procedural code. For this (in Silverlight at least), it's recommended to use the Storyboard timer rather than a DispatcherTimer. So I use something like this: Storyboard _LoopTimer = new Storyboard(); public void StartAnimation() { _LoopTimer.Duration = TimeSpan.FromMilliseconds(0); _LoopTimer.Completed += new EventHandler(MainLoop); _LoopTimer.Begin(); } void MainLoop(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Do animation stuff here // Continue storyboard timer _LoopTimer.Begin(); } And in Silverlight, this works fine. But in WPF, I only hit MainLoop() once. Setting RepeatBehaviour to Forever doesn't help, either. So what's the right way to do this in WPF with a Storyboard? Thanks very much.

• Can jQuery animate() behave differently for specific elements within my selection?

  I have a selection of elements in a jQuery object. I want to animate their font sizes, but as I have both the headlines and various paragraphs in the selection, they should be animated slightly differently, as the headlines should end up with a larger font size than the paragraphs. I already have this information stored in the jQuery data cache. I can do that. But, not unless I use several calls to the animate function, one for each specific, slightly different animation, perhaps using event triggering or setTimeout() calls. Of course I want to avoid this, as it's damn ugly and an odd way around. Much prettier if it could be done internally, within the animation ... Any help would be much appreciated.

  Hi All, in my application i am having a panel with associated a wxWindowDC and wxMemoryDC. i have to draw the various thing on that panel like bg color, on top of bg color bg image and on the top bg image i have to draw some text etc. I am storing all this thing into memory dc and finally in paint handler i m copying the memory dc to window dc. But i stuck in this process when i have a .gif (with multiple frames) and i m trying to bliting this gif image on DC that time it shows only a single frame of that gif image (its became a ordinary still image not an animated image). how i can store this whole gif image in memory dc and display full gif image on dc(with animation). I cant use wx.AnimateCrl() because i need that image in memoryDC. Any help really appreciable.
