gdb: Cannot find new threads: generic error

When I run GDB against a program which loads a .so which is linked to pthreads, GDB reports error "Cannot find new threads: generic error". I probably miss something in my Ubuntu configuration (as it was installed from minimal install). Spring can't find a lib and webapp doesn't start up in tomcat 6

I've this problem using STS: I'm building a simple Spring app, just to try out features like MVC and persistence. Now I've created something very simple, out of a bunch of tutorials for Spring 3, that I'm using. The application fails with this, during server startup: Code: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.annotation.DefaultAnnotationHandlerMapping#0': Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.CannotLoadBeanClassException: Cannot find class [org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBean] for bean with name 'mySessionFactory' defined in ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/spring/appServlet/servlet-context.xml]; nested exception is java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBean but I've org.springframework.orm in web-inf/classes folder (I even tried putting it in web-inf/lib). As I copied these libs there, the came out in Web App Libraries folder. Building this project in STS works fine as this dependency is set up in build path throught project properties, but how do I transfer the libs to the web app? (I'm using Tomcat 6 as it is the server I'm going to use sometime in the future for production). Is this a config problem of my XML? Or am I just missing the right way to put this lib? (I encountered the same problem before, but adding the needed lib in classes worked it out). How to find an embedded platform?

I am new to the locating hardware side of embedded programming and so after being completely overwhelmed with all the choices out there (pc104, custom boards, a zillion option for each board, volume discounts, devel kits, ahhh!!) I am asking here for some direction. Basically, I must find a new motherboard and (most likely) re-implement the program logic. Rewriting this in C/C++/Java/C#/Pascal/BASIC is not a problem for me. so my real problem is finding the hardware. This motherboard will have several other devices attached to it. Here is a summary of what I need to do: Required: 2 RS232 serial ports (one used all the time for primary UI, the second one not continuous) 1 modem (9600+ baud ok) [Modem will be in simultaneous use with only one of the serial port devices, so interrupt sharing with one serial port is OK, but not both] Minimum permanent/long term storage: Whatever O/S requires + 1 MB (executable) + 512 KB (Data files) RAM: Minimal, whatever the O/S requires plus maybe 1MB for executable. Nice to have: USB port(s) Ethernet network port Wireless network Implementation languages (any O/S I will adapt to): First choice Java/C# (Mono ok) Second choice is C/Pascal Third is BASIC Ok, given all this, I am having a lot of trouble finding hardware that will support this that is low in cost. Every manufacturer site I visit has a lot of options, and it's difficult to see if their offering will even satisfy my must-have requirements (for example they sometimes list 3 "serial ports", but it appears that only one of the three is RS232, for example, and don't mention what the other two are). The #1 constraint is cost, #2 is size. Can anyone help me with this? This little task has left me thinking I should have gone for EE and not CS :-). EDIT: A bit of background: This is a system currently in production, but the original programmer passed away, and the current hardware manufacturer cannot find hardware to run the (currently) DOS system, so I need to reimplement this in a modern platform. I can only change the programming and the motherboard hardware.

I'm working on a simple XML phonebook app to learn JQuery, and I can't figure out how to do something like this: When the user enters the first name of a contact in a textbox I want to find the entire record of that person. The XML looks like this: <phonebook> <person> <number> 555-5555</number> <first_name>Evelyn</first_name> <last_name>Remington</last_name> <address>Edge of the Abyss</address> <image>path/to/image</image> </person> <person> <number>+34 1 6444 333 2223230</number> <first_name>Max</first_name> <last_name>Muscle</last_name> <address>Mining Belt</address> <image>path/to/image</image> </person> </phonebook> and the best I've been able to do with the jQuery is something like this: var myXML; function searchXML(){ $.ajax({ type:"GET", url: "phonebook.xml", dataType: "xml", success: function(xml){myXML = $("xml").find("#firstNameBox").val())} }); } What I want it to do is return the entire <person> element so I can iterate through and display all that person's information. MS SQL find and replace in TEXT field

I have a database in MS SQL 2005 that was brought up from SQL 2000 and is still using TEXT type fields instead of varchar(max). I need to find and replace a string of characters in the text field but all of the examples of how to do this that I have found don't seem like they would work for me. It seems the UPDATETEXT command requires that the two parameters "insert_offset" and "delete_length" be set explicitly but the string i am searching for could show up in the text at any point or even at several points in the same cell. My understanding of these two parameters is that the string im searching for will always be in the same place, so that insert_offset is the number of spaces into the text that the UPDATETEXT command will start replacing text. Example: Need to find: <u> and Replace it with: <u> Text field example: *Everyone in the room was <b><u>tired</u>.</b><br>Then they woke <b><u>up</u>. Can anyone help me out with this? THANKS!

I have the following command that I run on cygwin: find /cygdrive/d/tmp/* -maxdepth 0 -mtime -150 -type d | xargs du --max-depth=0 > foldersizesreport.csv I intended to do the following with this command: for each folder under /d/tmp/ that was modified in last 150 days, check its total size including files within it and report it to file foldersizesreport.csv however that is now not good enough for me, as it turns out inside each /d/tmp/subfolder1/somefile.properties /d/tmp/subfolder2/somefile.properties /d/tmp/subfolder3/somefile.properties /d/tmp/subfolder4/somefile.properties so as you see inside each subfolderX there is a file named somefile.properties inside it there is a property SOMEPROPKEY=3808612800100 (among other properties) this is the time in millisecond, i need to change the command so that instead of -mtime -150 it will include in the whole calculation only subfolderX that has a file inside them somefile.properties where the SOMEPROPKEY=3808612800100 is the time in millisecond in future, if the value SOMEPROPKEY=23948948 is in past then dont at all include the folder in the foldersizesreport.csv because its not relevant to me. so the result report should be looking like: /d/tmp/,subfolder1,<itssizein KB> /d/tmp/,subfolder2,<itssizein KB> and if subfolder3 had a SOMEPROPKEY=34243234 (time in ms in past) then it would not be in that csv file. so basically I'm looking for: find /cygdrive/d/tmp/* -maxdepth 0 -mtime -150 -type d | <only subfolders that have in them property in file SOMEPROPKEY=28374874827 - time in ms in future and not in past | xargs du --max-depth=0 > foldersizesreport.csv

JavaScript - Efficiently find all elements containing one of a large set of strings

I have a set of strings and I need to find all all of the occurrences in an HTML document. Where the string occurs is important because I need to handle each case differently: String is all or part of an attribute. e.g., the string is foo: <input value="foo"> - Add class ATTR to the element. String is the full text of an element. e.g., <button>foo</button> - Add class TEXT to the element. String is inline in the text of an element. e.g., <p>I love foo</p> - Wrap the text in a span tag with class TEXT. Also, I need to match the longest string first. e.g., if I have foo and foobar, then <p>I love foobar</p> should become <p>I love <span class="TEXT">foobar</span></p>, not <p>I love <span class="TEXT">foo</span>bar</p>. The inline text is easy enough: Sort the strings descending by length and find and replace each in document.body.innerHTML with <span class="TEXT">$1</span>, although I'm not sure if that is the most efficient way to go. For the attributes, I can do something like this: sortedStrings.each(function(it) { document.body.innerHTML.replace(new RegExp('(\S+?)="[^"]*'+escapeRegExChars(it)+'[^"]*"','g'),function(s,attr) { $('[+attr+'*='+it+']').addClass('ATTR'); }); }); Again, that seems inefficient. Lastly, for the full text elements, a depth first search of the document that compares the innerHTML to each string will work, but for a large number of strings, it seems very inefficient. Any answer that offers performance improvements gets an upvote :)

Find Adjacent Nodes A Star Path-Finding C++

Is there a better way to handle my FindAdjacent() function for my A Star algorithm? It's awfully messy, and it doesn't set the parent node correctly. When it tries to find the path, it loops infinitely because the parent of the node has a pent of the node and the parents are always each other. Any help would be amazing. Find files on a remote server

I have a web-service that resides on serverA. The webservice will be responsible for finding files of a certain type in a virtual directory on serverB and then returning the full URL to the files. I have the service working if the files are located on the same machine - this is straight-forward enough. My question is what is the best way to find all files of a certain type (say *.xml) in all directories below a known virtual directory on a remote server? So for example, the webservice is on http://ServerA/service.asmx and the virtual directory is located at http://serverB/virtualdirectory So in this code, obviously the DirectoryInfo will not take a path to the remote server - how do I access this so I can find the files it contains? How do I then get the full URL to a file found on that remote server? DirectoryInfo updateDirectory = new DirectoryInfo(path); FileInfo[] files = updateDirectory.GetFiles("*.xml", SearchOption.AllDirectories); foreach (FileInfo fileInfo in files) { // Get URL to the file } I cannot have the files and the service on the same server - IT decision that is out of my hands. Display and Use Advanced Find for Product Subscriptions by Account in Microsoft CRM 4.0

By default when viewing an account in edit mode you have access to Opportunities, Invoices, and Quotes which contain the products being shopped by the account and/or the sales department. I'm trying to determine where to store, display, and use the products that an account has a subscription too. I may not understand the implementation but it seems that there should be "Products" option directly off the root Account management window that will show the user all the products the account has purchased. We are trying to integrate this with our production tracking system where product sales can originate from other channels that will not flow through CRM first. This product subscription does not fit into the Opportunity, Quote, or Invoice model because they are confirmed recurring sales that were automatically purchased via tools like a Public Website, Portal, etc. By enabling this tracking in CRM we can use the advanced find feature to facilitate follow up sales and marketing efforts. Example: Find everyone who is subscribed to model A, so we can notify them of a new holiday campaign where they can get 10% off on all add-ons. It's my assumption that this is a common scenario, however I'd like to better understand how to approach this within the world of Microsoft CRM. Thank you in advance.

But I want to override this and give the user the option to override the number of digits after the decimal separator. Android app with library can't find the library.apk

I'm trying to get the FinchVideo example from the Programming Android book to work. It uses the FinchWelcome library. I've set up FinchWelcome as a Library and in the FinchVideo application I have checked the FinchWelcome library in Properties - Android. When I try to run FinchVideo in the emulator it complains that it cannot find FinchWelcome.apk (output below). I'm building for Android 4.0.3. While Googling for this problem I've found that a lot of people have this problem with Android apps that use libraries. No one seems to have found a solution that works consistently, though. None of the Android books I've seen even talk about how to download libraries. What is the proper way to handle libraries in Android applications? Is this a bug in the Eclipse ADT? Thanks. I have millions of these rows so I need to find the next class in the row. C++ Multi Monitor - Find All Visible/Open Windows

I'm trying to find all the windows of ANY kind that are open (and have a taskbar 'button'). I have no problems finding the list processes/hWnd's, and then cycling through those, but how do I determine if a process/hwnd has a window open? (even if minimized). I've tried doing different combinations of the window parameters (such as WS_POPUP etc) but none of the parameters (or combinations of parameters) that I could find would give me all the open windows without some sort of false positives. As an example of a false positive was the fact that it gives me two 'windows' for google talk (even though one was open). Another false positive is considering the start menu as an open window. Any ideas? Solutions? I've been working on this for a while and its been driving me a bit insane. Note: I'm doing this for windows 7 (at this point). I'm not sure if there's any difference between how you would do this between XP and 7, but I thought it might be relevant.

JAR file: Could not find main class

Okay, I have a strange problem. I wanted to run one of my programs as a .jar file, but when I open it by double-clicking it, I get an error message like "Could not find main class, program is shutting down". I'm pretty sure I did everything right, the jar should work afaik. I also tried other programs, it's the same with every single one. (I'm creating the .jar's through BlueJ) There is no problem when I run them through a .bat . And here comes the strangest thing of all: The .jar's have worked some time ago (one or two months I guess), and I don't remember doing anything different. It's the same BlueJ-Version. Okay, maybe Java updated and something got messed up... I googled, but I couldn't find a solution. (some people seem to have a similar problem, and it seems to be only them who can't run their .jar's; they uploaded them and other people say the .jar's run fine.) What could be the problem? How can I solve it? I'd really appreciate some help here. Thank you :) ApertureT3CH EDIT: okay guys, you're making me unsure here. Imma check the manifest again, at this unholy time ( 1:34 am ) :P EDIT2: This is my MANIFEST.MF Manifest-Version: 1.0 Class-Path: Main-Class: LocalChatClientGUI [empty line] [empty line] The Main class is correct. EDIT3: Thanks to hgrey: There is nothing wrong with the jar. I can run it from a bat file, which actually should not be different from double-clicking the jar, right? Yet I get the error when clicking it, and it works fine through the bat. EDIT4: I finally solved the problem. I re-installed the JRE and now it works, although I can't see any version differences. I have two large list(could be a hundred million items), the source of each list can be either from a database table or a flat file. both lists are of comparable sizes, both unsorted. I need to find the difference between them. so I have 3 scenarios: 1. List1 is a database table(assume each row simply have one item(key) that is a string), List2 is a large file. 2. Both lists are from 2 db tables. 3. both lists are from two files. in case 2, I plan to use: select a.item from MyTable a where a.item not in (select b.item form MyTable b) this clearly is inefficient, is there a better way? Another approach is: I plan to sort each list, and then walk down both of them to find the diff. If the list is from a file, I have to read it into a db table first, then use db sorting to output the list. Is the run time complexity still O(nlogn) in db sorting? either approach is a pain and seems would be very slow when the list involved has hundreds of millions of items. any suggestions?

Find inner arrays in nested arrays

The problem is that the array that I'm trying to find the inner arrays of is dynamic and made of a user input. (It splits an input string where it finds + or -, and puts it in a separate nested array if it contains brackets. So if the user types a lot of brackets, there will be a lot of nested arrays.) Therefore I need to make this pattern go for 20 times down, and still it will only catch 20 nested arrays no matter what. Is there a function for that, again? Or is there a way to make it do this without my long code? Maybe make a loop make the necessary number of the foreach pattern and run it through eval()? Long answer to J.
