  • IE issues with my Website (Help me fix my CSS)

    - by cam77
    I'm struggling geting my website to test fully positive in IE, the following problems keep arising, only in IE; My '#grey box' div displaying 200px to the left out of place, and it seems to move with the adjustment of the IE window size, does this in no other browsers, just IE. It creates this unnecessary horizontal scroll. I have the width set to pretty large, but have "overflow: hidden" and again, works fine across except for IE. On a few of my pages, the footer is somewhat cropped and out of place. My biggest concern is the particular page's CSS, pasted below. #container { width : 1265px; height : 920px; background-color : #addceb; overflow : hidden; padding : 0; } #logo { font-size : 38px; height : 167px; width : 427px; margin-left : 435px; padding-top : 20px; margin-bottom : -10px; margin-top: 10px; border : none; } #menunav { width : 100%; background-image : url(../imagesnew/menunav.png); background-repeat : repeat-x; height : 40px; text-align : center; font-size : 14px; font-family : Palatino Linotype, Book Antiqua, Palatino, FreeSerif, serif; overflow : auto; } #menunav ul { list-style-type : none; background-image : url(); height : 40px; width : 800px; margin : auto; } #menunav ul a { background-image : url(); background-repeat : no-repeat; background-position : right; padding-right : 32px; padding-left : 15px; display : block; line-height : 30px; text-decoration : none; font-size : 14px; } #mainbox { position : relative; background-image : url(../premiumslideimgs/premiumbox.png); background-repeat : no-repeat; width : 900px; height : 800px; margin-left : 16%; top : 22px; padding-top : 5px; overflow : hidden; } #simplegallery1 { position : absolute; left : 50%; width : 800px; height : 800px; margin-top : 44px; margin-bottom: -44px; margin-bottom : 240px; margin-left : -397px; background-color : #a1bbfe; padding-top : 0; } #textbelowbox { position : absolute; width : 830px; height : 45px; margin-left : 209px; margin-bottom : 240px; margin-top : -240px; overflow : hidden; } #footer { background-image : url(../imagesnew/footerimg.png); background-repeat : no-repeat; background-position : right; height : 275px; margin-top : -285px; } a:hover { color : #addceb; } #right { float : right; margin-top : 3px; } #left { float : left; margin-left : 30px; } body { font-family : Palatino Linotype, Book Antiqua, Palatino, FreeSerif, serif; background-color : #addceb; margin : 0; padding : 0; } #textabovebox { width : 920px; position : absolute; margin-left : 228px; margin-bottom : 80px; margin-top : 38px; z-index : 2000; font-family : Palatino Linotype, Book Antiqua, Palatino, FreeSerif, serif; } a.submenu:hover { color : #333; font-weight : bolder; } #dialog { font-size : 12px; } #greybox { position : absolute; width : 275px; height : 465px; margin-left : 715px; margin-top : 80px; overflow : hidden; z-index : 2000; } ul { background-image : url(); height : 40px; width : 800px; margin : auto; } ul a { background-image : url(); background-repeat : no-repeat; background-position : right; padding-right : 32px; padding-left : 15px; display : block; line-height : 30px; text-decoration : none; font-size : 14px; } li { float : left; } a:link { color : #ffffff; text-decoration : none; } a:visited { color : #ffffff; text-decoration : none; } a:active { color : #ffffff; text-decoration : none; } a:hover { color : #addceb; } #right { float : right; margin-top : 3px; } #left { float : left; margin-left : 30px; } #text { float : left; margin-left : 30px; } body { font-family : Palatino Linotype, Book Antiqua, Palatino, FreeSerif, serif; padding : 0; margin : 0; } body { background-color : #addceb; } a.submenu:link { color : #333333; } a.submenu:active { color : #333333; } a.submenu:visited { color : #333333; } a.submenu:hover { color : #333333; font-weight : bolder; } { margin: 0; padding: 0; } Please help if you can, thanks a lot.

  • How to make a css navigation menu "selected" option still clickable

    - by aslum
    So I have a fairly simple vertical CSS menu based off of UL. <ul class="vertnav"> <li><a href="unselected1.php">Item1</a></li> <li><a href="unselected2.php">Item2</a></li> <li><a href="selected.php" class="vertnavdown">Selected</a></li> </ul> I want three basic colors (say tan for default LI, orange for VERTNAVDOWN, and red for A:HOVER. However I can't seem to get the vertnavdown class to inherit right, and the .vertnav li a:visited overrides it every time. if I use !important to force it through I can't seem to also get the hover to work. Any suggestions? I thought I understood inheritance in CSS but I guess I don't. .vertnav{ list-style: none; margin: 0px; width: 172px; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; text-align: left; height: 45px; } .vertnav li{ margin: 0px; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; border-bottom: 0px none; border-right: 0px none; border-top: 1px solid #fff; border-left: 0px none; text-align: left; height: 45px; width: 172px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; } .vertnav li a{ display: block; text-align: left; color: #666666; font-weight: bold; background-color: #FFEEC1; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; text-decoration: none; padding-top: 10px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 15px; height: 45px; } .vertnav li a:visited{ display: block; text-align: left; color: #666666; background-color: #FFEEC1; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; padding-top: 10px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 15px; height: 45px; } .vertnav li a:hover{ color: white; background-color: #ffbf0c; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; height: 45px; text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold; } .vertnavdown a { display:block; color: #FFF; background-color: #ff9000; } .vertnavdown a:hover { background-color: #ffbf0c; } ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Edited to add CSS. ^^^^^^

Then I'm trying to find all strings matching a pattern. How do I do that? I know how to find 1 instance of it, but how do I match all instances? and what data structure would the results go to? a multi dimensional array? my text (excerpt) looks like the following: <TR> <TD BGCOLOR=EEEEEE><A HREF="/program.cgi?pid=1233"><FONT FACE="ARIAL,HELVETICA,SANS-SERIF" SIZE=2>Title 1</A></FONT></TD> <TD BGCOLOR=EEEEEE nowrap><FONT FACE="ARIAL,HELVETICA" SIZE=2>Jun 27 2010 3:00PM</FONT></TD> <TD BGCOLOR=EEEEEE>&nbsp;</TD> </TR> <TR><TD BGCOLOR=EEEEEE COLSPAN=3><IMG SRC="http://images.domain.com/images/spacer.gif" WIDTH=1 HEIGHT=2><BR></TD></TR> <TR><TD COLSPAN=3 BGCOLOR=999999><IMG SRC="http://images.domain.com/images/spacer.gif" HEIGHT=1 WIDTH=1></TD></TR> <TR><TD COLSPAN=3 ><IMG SRC="http://images.domain.com/images/spacer.gif" WIDTH=1 HEIGHT=2><BR></TD></TR> <TR> <TD><A HREF="/program.cgi?pid=1234"><FONT FACE="ARIAL,HELVETICA,SANS-SERIF" SIZE=2>Title 2</A></FONT></TD> <TD nowrap><FONT FACE="ARIAL,HELVETICA" SIZE=2>Jun 29 2010 7:00PM</FONT></TD> <TD>&nbsp;</TD> </TR> <TR><TD COLSPAN=3><IMG SRC="http://images.domain.com/images/spacer.gif" WIDTH=1 HEIGHT=2><BR></TD></TR> <TR><TD COLSPAN=3 BGCOLOR=999999><IMG SRC="http://images.domain.com/images/spacer.gif" HEIGHT=1 WIDTH=1></TD></TR> <TR><TD COLSPAN=3 BGCOLOR=EEEEEE><IMG SRC="http://images.domain.com/images/spacer.gif" WIDTH=1 HEIGHT=2><BR></TD></TR> <TR> <TD BGCOLOR=EEEEEE><A HREF="/program.cgi?pid=1235"><FONT FACE="ARIAL,HELVETICA,SANS-SERIF" SIZE=2>Title 3</A></FONT></TD> <TD BGCOLOR=EEEEEE nowrap><FONT FACE="ARIAL,HELVETICA" SIZE=2>Jul 3 2010 7:00PM</FONT></TD> <TD BGCOLOR=EEEEEE>&nbsp;</TD> </TR> I want to get the following into an array (or any structure): { ["/program.cgi?pdi=1233", "Title 1"], ["/program.cgi?pdi=1234", "Title 2"], ["/program.cgi?pdi=1235", "Title 3"] } Thanks

  • How to protect UI components using OPSS Resource Permissions

If used in combination with the ADF security expression language and security checks performed in Java, this protection already provides you with fine grained access control that can also be used to secure UI components like buttons and input text field. For example, the EL shown below disables the user profile panel tabs for unauthenticated users: <af:panelTabbed id="pt1" position="above">   ...   <af:showDetailItem        text="User Profile" id="sdi2"                                       disabled="#{!securityContext.authenticated}">   </af:showDetailItem>   ... </af:panelTabbed> The next example disables a panel tab item if the authenticated user is not granted access to the bounded task flow exposed in a region on this tab: <af:panelTabbed id="pt1" position="above">   ...   <af:showDetailItem text="Employees Overview" id="sdi4"                        disabled="#{!securityContext.taskflowViewable         ['/WEB-INF/EmployeeUpdateFlow.xml#EmployeeUpdateFlow']}">   </af:showDetailItem>   ... </af:panelTabbed> Security expressions like shown above allow developers to check the user permission, authentication and role membership status before showing UI components. Similar, using Java, developers can use code like shown below to verify the user authentication status: ADFContext adfContext = ADFContext.getCurrent(); SecurityContext securityCtx = adfContext.getSecurityContext(); boolean userAuthenticated = securityCtx.isAuthenticated(); Note that the Java code lines use the same security context reference that is used with expression language. But is this all that there is? No ! The goal of ADF Security is to enable all ADF developers to build secure web application with JAAS (Java Authentication and Authorization Service). For this, more fine grained protection can be defined using the ResourcePermission, a generic JAAS permission class owned by the Oracle Platform Security Services (OPSS).  Using the ResourcePermission  class, developers can grant permission to functional parts of an application that are not protected by page or task flow security. For example, an application menu allows creating and canceling product shipments to customers. However, only a specific user group - or application role, which is the better way to use ADF Security - is allowed to cancel a shipment. To enforce this rule, a permission is needed that can be used declaratively on the UI to hide a menu entry and programmatically in Java to check the user permission before the action is performed. Note that multiple lines of defense are what you should implement in your application development. Don't just rely on UI protection through hidden or disabled command options. To create menu protection permission for an ADF Security enable application, you choose Application | Secure | Resource Grants from the Oracle JDeveloper menu. The opened editor shows a visual representation of the jazn-data.xml file that is used at design time to define security policies and user identities for testing. An option in the Resource Grants section is to create a new Resource Type. A list of pre-defined types exists for you to create policy definitions for. Many of these pre-defined types use the ResourcePermission class. To create a custom Resource Type, for example to protect application menu functions, you click the green plus icon next to the Resource Type select list. The Create Resource Type editor that opens allows you to add a name for the resource type, a display name that is shown when granting resource permissions and a description. The ResourcePermission class name is already set. In the menu protection sample, you add the following information: Name: MenuProtection Display Name: Menu Protection Description: Permission to grant menu item permissions OK the dialog to close the resource permission creation. To create a resource policy that can be used to check user permissions at runtime, click the green plus icon in the Resources section of the Resource Grants section. In the Create Resource dialog, provide a name for the menu option you want to protect. To protect the cancel shipment menu option, create a resource with the following settings Resource Type: Menu Protection Name: Cancel Shipment Display Name: Cancel Shipment Description: Grant allows user to cancel customer good shipment   A new resource Cancel Shipmentis added to the Resources panel. Initially the resource is not granted to any user, enterprise or application role. To grant the resource, click the green plus icon in the Granted To section, select the Add Application Role option and choose one or more application roles in the opened dialog. Finally, you click the process action to define the policy. Note that permission can have multiple actions that you can grant individually to users and roles. The cancel shipment permission for example could have another action "view" defined to determine which user should see that this option exist and which users don't. To use the cancel shipment permission, select the disabled property on a command item, like af:commandMenuItem and click the arrow icon on the right. From the context menu, choose the Expression Builder entry. Expand the ADF Bindings | securityContext node and click the userGrantedResource option. Hint: You can expand the Description panel below the EL selection panel to see an example of how the grant should look like. The EL that is created needs to be manually edited to show as #{!securityContext.userGrantedResource[               'resourceName=Cancel Shipment;resourceType=MenuProtection;action=process']} OK the dialog so the permission checking EL is added as a value to the disabled property. Running the application and expanding the Shipment menu shows the Cancel Shipments menu item disabled for all users that don't have the custom menu protection resource permission granted. Note: Following the steps listed above, you create a JAAS permission and declaratively configure it for function security in an ADF application. Do you need to understand JAAS for this? Two KM articles reflect Oracles policy towards the use of VMware: 249212.1 and 475484.1 . The bottom line is: “you may use it at your own risk, but Oracle does not recommend it”. So far we have seen few problems with the use of VMware (other than performance and the usual limitations) but Oracle does not certify its software for the use in VMware (and specifically for RAC Software actively refuses any support) and any issue that may occur will be fixed for the native OS only. It is on the customer to prove that the issue is NOT due to VMware in case that an issue is encountered. • How does the Control class, provide the ForeColor, BackColor and Font default values?

    - by Miguel Angelo
I know that component-model indicates whether a property has a default value or not, by means of ShouldSerializeValue method of PropertyDescriptor. The base windows-forms Control class, has some properties like ForeColor, BackColor and Font, that defaults to the same value of the parent, but I could not find any TypeDescriptor or PropertyDescriptor that provides these default values. The Control class does not implement ICustomTypeDescriptor nor has a TypeDescriptionProviderAttribute. How does the Control class indicates that these properties should be serialized or not? Where does it provide the PropertyDescriptors for these properties?? Thanks!!!

  • Create a Font using strings pulled from a string table.

    - by Matthew Smith
I am writing a tool to create an otf or ttc with only characters defined in our localized string table, so we can cut down memory usage. I already have the information for the Japanese characters we are using but I am unable to find an example of creating a new font based around these characters. Does anyone know of a good example or even the interface I can access to do this? I am working in C# with .NET 3.5. I am looking into Volt and TTOasm from Microsoft, but I am not sure if they will do exactly what I need. Any information is appreciated. Thanks, Matt Smith

  • How do I create a SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services Template to a Default Font?

    - by David Stein
I'm creating a new template to create reports from at a later date. I know how to create one, and I know where to save it. However, the problem is this. Everything that is created on the report uses the default font of Arial with a size of 10pt. I need to set mine to default to Tahoma 11pt. I can create a mock title, mock tables, etc and save those to Tahoma 11pt, but any new controls that are used on any version of this report will default back to Arial 10pt. How do I fix this?

  • Is there a font that can't be recognised by an OCR?

    - by user1820564
I am trying to write a document that can only be read by humans. The document content can't be copied. For that purpose, I am converting its pages to pictures and adding them back to a PDF file. The main issue is that any OCR program can get back the whole written text, especially that the page is going to be clear (as opposed to a scanned book) which will increase the OCR accuracy. So, is there a font that can't be recognized by an OCR. Otherwise, is there a technique that will make my document only readable by humans, yet unrecognised by an OCR? (for instance, adding a specific background, etc...) Thank you in advance.

  • How to change the font size in table cells according to cells content ?

    - by misha-moroshko
I have an HTML table which has incrementing numbers starting from 0 in its cells (left to right, up to bottom). I fixed in CSS the width and the height of the cells (40px width, 25px height, in my case). When the table becomes larger, the numbers inside it becomes large also (for example, the last number is 1266356). This causes the cells to be wider than I defined in the CSS, which expands the whole table accordingly. Instead, I would like the font of the numbers to be smaller to keep the width of the cell 40px. How can I accomplish this using CSS / Javascript / jQuery ?
