  • ASP.NET: Dynamically enable or disable RequiredFieldValidator based on value of DropDownList

    I have an ASP.NET form with three text inputs, one each for "Work Phone", "Home Phone" and "Cell Phone". Each of these text inputs has a RequiredFieldValidator associated with it. I also have a DropDownList where the user can select the preferred phone type. I want to only require the field that is selected in the DropDownList. For example, if the user selects "Work Phone" from the DropDownList, I want to disable the RequiredFieldValidator for "Home Phone" and "Cell Phone", thereby only making the "Work Phone" field required. I have a method that enables and disables these validators based on the value of the DropDownList, but I cannot figure out when to call it. I want this method to run before the validation takes place on the page. How would I do that? Let me know if you need any more information. Thanks.

  • SmartGWT - Update ListGridRecord dynamically

    I am using SmartGWT and I have a ListGrid populated with an array of ListGridRecords using the setData() call. I am trying to update a progress property of a single record (on a timer for testing) and have it update in the browser. I have tried various combinations of draw(), redraw(), markForRedraw() etc. to no avail. I also tried overriding the updateRecordComponent() method in my table class, but it only gets called when the records are first created (after createRecordComponent()). I should note that I do NOT want to accomplish this by binding to a DataSource. I just want to be able to update the attribute on the client-side.     I have been following the following post on using multiple ItemTemplates in a ListView control. I cannot figure out how I to send through my Comment item. The sender object and EventArgs do not contain the info.

    I'm customising the Group Headers on a Telerik RadGrid by injecting a LinkButton into it during the ItemDataBound event. The button renders perfectly, but I can't get it to hit any event handlers.   • Iframe src set dynamically through JavaScript is being executed twice on Internet Explorer

    Hello Everyone, I am encountering a very annoying problem with IE. Basically I need to set the source of an IFrame using JavaScript, however the source document is being executed twice not once during each call. The simplified HTML code is pasted below (I simplified it so that readers can understand it quickly. The source is being set through JavaScript since it will contain dynamic content): <html> <head> <title>Iframe test</title> </head> <body> <iframe id="testIframe" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="" width="800" height="600"></iframe> <script language="JavaScript"> document.getElementById("testIframe").src = "http://localhost/test.php"; </script> </body> </html> In this example, test.php inserts a record inside a local database once called. Whenever the page above is called using IE, two rows are being inserted on most occasions (sometimes only 1 row is inserted but this is not the norm). I tested the same script on Chrome and Opera and it works correctly on them so this must be an IE issue. If is set the src directly inside the iframe tag IE starts behaving correctly, however I need to be able to build the URL using javascript. Has anyone encountered this issue? and does anyone know of a solution/workaround? Thanks and Regards Pierre

    I'm using D2K9, Zeos 7Alpha, and Firebird 2.1 I had this working before I added the autoinc field. Although I'm not sure I was doing it 100% correctly. I don' know what order to do the SQL code, with the triggers, Generators, etc.. I've tried several combinations, I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong other than just that for this not to work.   • Dynamically create and save image with Django and PIL/Django-Photologue

    I want to generate a page of html with dynamic content and then save the result as an image as well as display the page to the user. So, user signs up to attend conference and gives their name and org. That data is combined with html/css elements to show what their id badge for the conference will look like (their name and org on top of our conference logo background) for preview. Upon approval, the page is saved on the server to an image format (PNG, PDF or JPG) to be printed onto a physical badge by an admin later. I am using Django and django-photologue powered by PIL.     I have form layout with some TextField elements and one HtmlEditor element. Some TextField elements are "hideable", i.e. could be hid or showed. After hiding/showing elements HtmlEditor instance break layout — there appear empty space or element doesn't end at the window border. Is it possible to tell to HtmlEditor instance use all remaining available space? Even in case when some elements are hidden/showed. I've tried to use anchor property, but it works well until some element removed from the layout. The same example tested in IE8, FF and Chrome behaves exactly as expected. I've already tried updating the element's class but this does not work if the browser's window has been opened maximized and no further size changes were made to the window (which is about 90% of the use cases we have for our product.... :( ) I'm stuck with a CSS-based solution however I think that I can make an exception in this case if it can easily be made IE7-specific (which means that other browsers will behave in a standard way with this). Please help!

    I am working on a project that involves Spring Security ACL and I came across the create permission BasePermission.CREATE. Would someone please explain how this is supposed to work or what it allows someone to do? It is my understanding that each object has an acl, and each acl has many ace's, and each ace has an sid and a permission. How can you grant permission on an object to create it, if it must be created in order to attach the acl to it?

    On selecting value from 1 to 10 from gtk combox box it should populate the checkbox by taking combo box value as an input. Say for example if i select 5 then 5 checkbox will be generated. It works.. But the issue is after i selected 5 now im selecting next value as 3 from combo box then there 8 checkboxes are displayed. The old 5 checkbox didnt get replaced. Is there any way to refresh the vbox(which has the checkboxes) or update to a new value. Enviroment : FC10 , Glade 2 , Python 2.5 , GTK.

    I am currently building a very dynamic table for a list application, which will basically perform basic CRUD functions via AJAX. What I would like to do is separate the visual design and javascript to the point where I can change the design side without touching the JS side. This would only work where the design stays roughly the same(i would like to use it for rapid protyping) Here is an example. <table> <tr><td>record-123</td><td>I am line 123</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>record-124</td><td>I am line 124</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>record-125</td><td>I am line 125</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>add new record</td></tr> </table> Now, when I add a new record, I would like to insert a new row of html, but I would rather not put this html into the javascript file. What I am considering is creating a row like this on the page, near the table. <tr style='visble:none;' id='template-row'><td>record-id</td><td>content-area</td><td>delete row</td></tr> And when I come to add the new row, I search the page for the tags with the id=template-row , and then grab it, do a string replace on it, and then put it in the right place in the page. As long as the design doesn't shift radically, and I keep the placeholder strings the same, it means designs can be quickly modified without touching the js. Can any give any advice on a methodology like this?

The mapi32.dll is loaded with a call to LoadLibrary which succeeds, but then our application tries to get the addresses of the functions MAPILogon, MAPILogOff, MAPISendMail, MAPIFreeBuffer and MAPIResolveName. The problem is that GetProcAddress fails for those functions with an ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED (code: 5) except for MAPIFreeBuffer. It looks like some sort of security thing. How can I fix this or should I use another method to send mail?     Hi, I have a problem with parameters replacing by Spring JdbcTemplate. So if the user is brasilian I'd send him the column pt_br from the table fix_i18n, otherwise if he's american I'd send him the column en_us. What I get from this method is a PostgreSQL exception org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: syntax error at or near "$1" If I replace fi.? with just ? (the column name of the locale is unique, so if I run this query in the database it works just fine) what I get is that every object returned from method has the string locale into the field name. I.e. in name field I have "en_us". What am I doing wrong?

  • Dynamically building and updating Histograms with JFreeChart

    I've got a stream of incoming data that I would like to plot using a simple histogram. I don't know the range of values, or the proper resolution or bin width to use for the histogram. SimpleHistogramDataset provides some of this functionality, but I don't want to have to deal with catching exceptions in order to add new bins if the new value isn't covered. In addition, it doesn't easily allow me to rebuild the histogram using a different bin width (perhaps an integer multiples of some initial set width). Is there an easy way to accomplish this with JFreeChart or some alternate charting library, or am I going to have to write my own class here?
