  • Comparable and Comparator contract with regards to null

    - by polygenelubricants
    Comparable contract specifies that e.compareTo(null) must throw NullPointerException. From the API: Note that null is not an instance of any class, and e.compareTo(null) should throw a NullPointerException even though e.equals(null) returns false. On the other hand, Comparator API mentions nothing about what needs to happen when comparing null. Consider the following attempt of a generic method that takes a Comparable, and return a Comparator for it that puts null as the minimum element. static <T extends Comparable<? super T>> Comparator<T> nullComparableComparator() { return new Comparator<T>() { @Override public int compare(T el1, T el2) { return el1 == null ? -1 : el2 == null ? +1 : el1.compareTo(el2); } }; } This allows us to do the following: List<Integer> numbers = new ArrayList<Integer>( Arrays.asList(3, 2, 1, null, null, 0) ); Comparator<Integer> numbersComp = nullComparableComparator(); Collections.sort(numbers, numbersComp); System.out.println(numbers); // "[null, null, 0, 1, 2, 3]" List<String> names = new ArrayList<String>( Arrays.asList("Bob", null, "Alice", "Carol") ); Comparator<String> namesComp = nullComparableComparator(); Collections.sort(names, namesComp); System.out.println(names); // "[null, Alice, Bob, Carol]" So the questions are: Is this an acceptable use of a Comparator, or is it violating an unwritten rule regarding comparing null and throwing NullPointerException? Is it ever a good idea to even have to sort a List containing null elements, or is that a sure sign of a design error?

  • ibm informix spatial datablade select statement error

    - by changed
    Hi I am using IBM informix spatial datablade module for some geo specific data. I am trying to find points in table xmlData lying in a specified region. But i am getting this error for select statement. • Importing fixtures with foreign keys and SQLAlchemy?

    - by Chris Reid
    I've been experimenting with using fixture to load test data sets into my Pylons / PostgreSQL app. This works great except that it fails to properly create foreign keys if they reference an auto increment id field. My fixture looks like this: class AuthorsData(DataSet): class frank_herbert: first_name = "Frank" last_name = "Herbert" class BooksData(DataSet): class dune: title = "Dune" author_id = AuthorsData.frank_herbert.ref('id') And the model: t_authors = sa.Table("authors", meta.metadata, sa.Column("id", sa.types.Integer, primary_key=True), sa.Column("first_name", sa.types.String(100)), sa.Column("last_name", sa.types.String(100)), ) t_books = sa.Table("books", meta.metadata, sa.Column("id", sa.types.Integer, primary_key=True), sa.Column("title", sa.types.String(100)), sa.Column("author_id", sa.types.Integer, sa.ForeignKey('authors.id')) ) When running "paster setup-app development.ini", SQLAlchemey reports the FK value as "None" so it's obviously not finding it: 15:59:48,683 INFO [sqlalchemy.engine.base.Engine.0x...9eb0] INSERT INTO books (title, author_id) VALUES (%(title)s, %(author_id)s) RETURNING books.id 15:59:48,683 INFO [sqlalchemy.engine.base.Engine.0x...9eb0] {'author_id': None, 'title': 'Dune'} The fixture docs actually warn that this might be a problem: "However, in some cases you may need to reference an attribute that does not have a value until it is loaded, like a serial ID column. (Note that this is not supported by the SQLAlchemy data layer when using sessions.)" http://farmdev.com/projects/fixture/using-dataset.html#referencing-foreign-dataset-classes Does this mean that this is just not supported with SQLAlchemy? Or is it possible to load the data without using SA "sessions"? How are other people handling this issue?

  • Saving a record in Authlogic table

    - by denniss
    I am using authlogic to do my authentication. The current model that serves as the authentication model is the user model. I want to add a "belongs to" relationship to user which means that I need a foreign key in the user table. Say the foreign key is called car_id in the user's model. However, for some reason, when I do u = User.find(1) u.car_id = 1 u.save! I get ActiveRecord::RecordInvalid: Validation failed: Password can't be blank My guess is that this has something to do with authlogic. I do not have validation on password on the user's model. This is the migration for the user's table. def self.up create_table :users do |t| t.string :email t.string :first_name t.string :last_name t.string :crypted_password t.string :password_salt t.string :persistence_token t.string :single_access_token t.string :perishable_token t.integer :login_count, :null => false, :default => 0 # optional, see Authlogic::Session::MagicColumns t.integer :failed_login_count, :null => false, :default => 0 # optional, see Authlogic::Session::MagicColumns t.datetime :last_request_at # optional, see Authlogic::Session::MagicColumns t.datetime :current_login_at # optional, see Authlogic::Session::MagicColumns t.datetime :last_login_at # optional, see Authlogic::Session::MagicColumns t.string :current_login_ip # optional, see Authlogic::Session::MagicColumns t.string :last_login_ip # optional, see Authlogic::Session::MagicColumns t.timestamps end end And later I added the car_id column to it. def self.up add_column :users, :user_id, :integer end Is there anyway for me to turn off this validation?

  • Parsing CSV string and binding it to listbox

    - by Amit Ranjan
    I have splitted comma separated values in an string array, something like this str[0] ="210" str[1] ="abc.pdf" str[2] = "211" str[3] = "xyz.docx" and so on. Please note 0,2,4,6,8 [even positions] are having number and odd positions are having string. I am having a class Attachmodel Public Class AttachmentModel Private _attachmentID As Integer = 0 Private _attachmentPath As String = "" ''' <summary> ''' Get Set Attachment ID ''' </summary> ''' <value></value> ''' <returns></returns> ''' <remarks></remarks> Public Property AttachmentID() As Integer Get Return _attachmentID End Get Set(ByVal value As Integer) _attachmentID = value End Set End Property ''' <summary> ''' Get Set Attachment Path ''' </summary> ''' <value></value> ''' <returns></returns> ''' <remarks></remarks> Public Property AttachmentPath() As String Get Return _attachmentPath End Get Set(ByVal value As String) _attachmentPath = value End Set End Property End Class In the above i want to set the values and bind it to the grid, using List

  • how send data record using SendMessage(..) in separate process

    - by XBasic3000
    i use to send a data on two separate process but it fails. it works only under same process... this is concept. //----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MainApps //----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Type PMyrec = ^TMyrec; TMyrec = Record name : string; add : string; age : integer; end; :OnButtonSend var aData : PMyrec; begin new(aData); aData.Name := 'MyName'; aData.Add := 'My Address'; aData.Age : 18; SendMessage(FindWindow('SubApps'),WM_MyMessage,0,Integer(@aData)); end; //----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SubApps //----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Type PMyrec = ^TMyrec; TMyrec = Record name : string; add : string; age : integer; end; :OnCaptureMessage var aData : PMyrec; begin aData := PMyrec(Msg.LParam); showmessage(aData^.Name); end;

  • Quickest algorithm for finding sets with high intersection

    - by conradlee
    I have a large number of user IDs (integers), potentially millions. These users all belong to various groups (sets of integers), such that there are on the order of 10 million groups. To simplify my example and get to the essence of it, let's assume that all groups contain 20 user IDs (i.e., all integer sets have a cardinality of 100). I want to find all pairs of integer sets that have an intersection of 15 or greater. Should I compare every pair of sets? (If I keep a data structure that maps userIDs to set membership, this would not be necessary.) What is the quickest way to do this? That is, what should my underlying data structure be for representing the integer sets? Sorted sets, unsorted---can hashing somehow help? And what algorithm should I use to compute set intersection)? I prefer answers that relate C/C++ (especially STL), but also any more general, algorithmic insights are welcome. Update Also, note that I will be running this in parallel in a shared memory environment, so ideas that cleanly extend to a parallel solution are preferred.

  • rake test not copying development postgres db with sequences

    - by Robert Crida
    I am trying to develop a rails application on postgresql using a sequence to increment a field instead of a default ruby approach based on validates_uniqueness_of. This has proved challenging for a number of reasons: 1. This is a migration of an existing table, not a new table or column 2. Using parameter :default = "nextval('seq')" didn't work because it tries to set it in parenthesis 3. Eventually got migration working in 2 steps: change_column :work_commencement_orders, :wco_number_suffix, :integer, :null => false#, :options => "set default nextval('wco_number_suffix_seq')" execute %{ ALTER TABLE work_commencement_orders ALTER COLUMN wco_number_suffix SET DEFAULT nextval('wco_number_suffix_seq'); } Now this would appear to have done the correct thing in the development database and the schema looks like: wco_number_suffix | integer | not null default nextval('wco_number_suffix_seq'::regclass) However, the tests are failing with PGError: ERROR: null value in column "wco_number_suffix" violates not-null constraint : INSERT INTO "work_commencement_orders" ("expense_account_id", "created_at", "process_id", "vo2_issued_on", "wco_template", "updated_at", "notes", "process_type", "vo_number", "vo_issued_on", "vo2_number", "wco_type_id", "created_by", "contractor_id", "old_wco_type", "master_wco_number", "deadline", "updated_by", "detail", "elective_id", "authorization_batch_id", "delivery_lat", "delivery_long", "operational", "state", "issued_on", "delivery_detail") VALUES(226, '2010-05-31 07:02:16.764215', 728, NULL, E'Default', '2010-05-31 07:02:16.764215', NULL, E'Procurement::Process', NULL, NULL, NULL, 226, NULL, 276, NULL, E'MWCO-213', '2010-06-14 07:02:16.756952', NULL, E'Name 4597', 220, NULL, NULL, NULL, 'f', E'pending', NULL, E'728 Test Road; Test Town; 1234; Test Land') RETURNING "id" The explanation can be found when you inspect the schema of the test database: wco_number_suffix | integer | not null So what happened to the default? I tried adding task: template: smmt_ops_development to the database.yml file which has the effect of issuing create database smmt_ops_test template = "smmt_ops_development" encoding = 'utf8' I have verified that if I issue this then it does in fact copy the default nextval. So clearly rails is doing something after that to suppress it again. Any suggestions as to how to fix this? Thanks Robert

  • RANDOM Number Generation in C

    - by CVS-2600Hertz-wordpress-com
    Recently i have begun development of a simple game. It is improved version of an earlier version that i had developed. Large part of the game's success depends on Random number generation in different modes: MODE1 - Truly Random mode myRand(min,max,mode=1); Should return me a random integer b/w min & max. MODE2 - Pseudo Random : Token out of a bag mode myRand(min,max,mode=2); Should return me a random integer b/w min & max. Also should internally keep track of the values returned and must not return the same value again until all the other values are returned atleast once. MODE3 - Pseudo Random : Human mode myRand(min,max,mode=3); Should return me a random integer b/w min & max. The randomisation ought to be not purely mathematically random, rather random as user perceive it. How Humans see RANDOM. * Assume the code is time-critical (i.e. any performance optimisations are welcome) * Pseudo-code will do but an implementation in C is what i'm looking for. * Please keep it simple. A single function should be sufficient (thats what i'm looking for) Thank You

  • Cache Class compilation error using parent-child relationships and cache sql storage

    - by Fred Altman
    I have the global listed below that I'm trying to create a couple of cache classes using sql stoarage for: ^WHEAIPP(1,26,1)=2 ^WHEAIPP(1,26,1,1)="58074^^SMSNARE^58311" 2)="58074^59128^MPHILLIPS^59135" ^WHEAIPP(1,29,1)=2 ^WHEAIPP(1,29,1,1)="58074^^SMSNARE^58311" 2)="58074^59128^MPHILLIPS^59135" ^WHEAIPP(1,93,1)=2 ^WHEAIPP(1,93,1,1)="58884^^SSNARE^58948" 2)="58884^59128^MPHILLIPS^59135" ^WHEAIPP(1,166,1)=2 ^WHEAIPP(1,166,1,1)="58407^^SMSNARE^58420" 2)="58407^59128^MPHILLIPS^59135" ^WHEAIPP(1,324,1)=2 ^WHEAIPP(1,324,1,1)="58884^^SSNARE^58948" 2)="58884^59128^MPHILLIPS^59135" ^WHEAIPP(1,419,1)=3 ^WHEAIPP(1,419,1,1)="59707^^SSNARE^59708" 2)="59707^^MPHILLIPS^59910,58000^^^^" 3)="59707^59981^SSNARE^60117,53241^^^^" The first two subscripts of the global (Hmo and Keen) make a unique entry. The third subscript (Seq) has a property (IppLineCount) which is the number of IppLines in the fourth subscript level (Seq2). I create the class WIppProv below which is the parent class: /// <PRE> /// ============================ /// Generated Class Definition /// Table: WMCA_B_IPP_PROV /// Generated by: FXALTMAN /// Generated on: 05/21/2012 13:46:41 /// Generator: XWESTblClsGenV2 /// ---------------------------- /// </PRE> Class XFXA.MCA.WIppProv Extends (%Persistent, %XML.Adaptor) [ ClassType = persistent, Inheritance = right, ProcedureBlock, StorageStrategy = SQLMapping ] { /// .HMO Property Hmo As %Integer; /// .KEEN Property Keen As %Integer; /// .SEQ Property Seq As %String; Property IppLineCount As %Integer; Index iMaster On (Hmo, Keen, Seq) [ IdKey, Unique ]; Relationship IppLines As XFXA.MCA.WIppProvLine [ Cardinality = many, Inverse = relWIppProv ]; <Storage name="SQLMapping"> <DataLocation>^WHEAIPP</DataLocation> <ExtentSize>1000000</ExtentSize> <SQLMap name="DBMS"> <Data name="IppLineCount"> <Delimiter>"^"</Delimiter> <Node>+0</Node> <Piece>1</Piece> </Data> <Global>^WHEAIPP</Global> <PopulationType>full</PopulationType> <Subscript name="1"> <AccessType>Sub</AccessType> <Expression>{Hmo}</Expression> <LoopInitValue>1</LoopInitValue> </Subscript> <Subscript name="2"> <AccessType>Sub</AccessType> <Expression>{Keen}</Expression> </Subscript> <Subscript name="3"> <AccessType>Sub</AccessType> <LoopInitValue>1</LoopInitValue> <Expression>{Seq}</Expression> </Subscript> <Type>data</Type> </SQLMap> <StreamLocation>^XFXA.MCA.WIppProvS</StreamLocation> <Type>%Library.CacheSQLStorage</Type> </Storage> } This class compiles fine. Next I created the WIppProvLine class listed below and made a parent-child relationship between the two: /// Used to represent a single line of IPP data Class XFXA.MCA.WIppProvLine Extends (%Persistent, %XML.Adaptor) [ ClassType = persistent, Inheritance = right, ProcedureBlock, StorageStrategy = SQLMapping ] { /// .CLM_AMT_ALLOWED node: 0 piece: 6<BR> /// This field should be used in conjunction with the Claim Operator field to /// define a whole claim dollar amount at which a particular claim should be /// flagged with a Pend status.   • RegularExpression-esque search matching Objects in List

    - by Pindatjuh
    I'm currently working on an implementation of the following idea, and I was wondering if there is any literature on this subject. Working with Java, but the principle applies on any language with a decent type-system, I like to implement: matching Objects from a List using a RegularExpression-esque search: So let's say I have a List containing List<Object> x = new ArrayList<Object>(); x.add(new Object()); x.add("Hello World"); x.add("Second String"); x.add(5); // Integer (auto-boxing) x.add(6); // Integer Then I create a "Regular Expression" (not working with a stream of characters, but working with a stream of Objects), and instead of character-classes, I use type-system properties: [String][Integer] And this would match one sublist: {Match["Second String", 5]}. The expression: [String:length()<15] Will match two sublist (each of length 1) containing a String which instance is passing the expression instance.length() < 5: {Match["Hello World"],Match["Second String"]}. [Object][Object] Matches any pair in the List: {Match[Object,"Hello World"],Match["Second String", 5]}, in a streamed manner (no overlapping matches). Ofcourse, my implementation will have grouping, lookahead/lookbehinds and is hierarchical (i.e. matching n elements from Lists in Lists), etc. The above merely illustrates the concept. Is there a name for this principle, and is there literature available on it?

  • NHibernate Child items query using Parent Id

    - by thorkia
    So I have a set up similar to this questions: Parent Child Setup Everything works great when saving the parent and the children. However, I seem to have a problem when selecting the children. I can't seem to get all the children with a specific parent. This fails with: NHibernate.QueryException: could not resolve property: ParentEntity_id of: Test.Data.ChildEntity Here is my code: public IEnumerable<ChildEntity> GetByParent(ParentEntity parent) { using (ISession session = OrmHelper.OpenSession()) { return session.CreateCriteria<ChildEntity>().Add(Restrictions.Eq("ParentEntity_id ", parent.Id)).List<ChildEntity>(); } } Any help in building a proper function to get all the items would be appreciated. Oh, I am using Fluent NHibernate to construct the mappings - version 1 RTM and NHibernate 2.1.2 GA If you need more information, let me know. As per you request, my fluent mappings: public ParentEntityMap() { Id(x => x.Id); Map(x => x.Name); Map(x => x.Code).UniqueKey("ukCode"); HasMany(x => x.ChildEntity).LazyLoad() .Inverse().Cascade.SaveUpdate(); } public ChildEntityMap() { Id(x => x.Id); Map(x => x.Amount); Map(x => x.LogTime); References(x => x.ParentEntity); } That maps to the following 2 tables: CREATE TABLE "ParentEntity" ( Id integer, Name TEXT, Code TEXT, primary key (Id), unique (Code) ) CREATE TABLE "ChildEntity" ( Id integer, Amount NUMERIC, LogTime DATETIME, ParentEntity_id INTEGER, primary key (Id) ) The data store in SQLite.

  • Refining data stored in SQLite - how to join several contacts?

    - by Krab
    Problem background Imagine this problem. You have a water molecule which is in contact with other molecules (if the contact is a hydrogen bond, there can be 4 other molecules around my water). Like in the following picture (A, B, C, D are some other atoms and dots mean the contact). A B . . O / \ H H . . C D I have the information about all the dots and I need to eliminate the water in the center and create records describing contacts of A-C, A-D, A-B, B-C, B-D, and C-D. Database structure Currently, I have the following structure in the database: Table atoms: "id" integer PRIMARY KEY, "amino" char(3) NOT NULL, (HOH for water or other value) other columns identifying the atom Table contacts: "acceptor_id" integer NOT NULL, (the atom near to my hydrogen, here C or D) "donor_id" integer NOT NULL, (here A or B) "directness" char(1) NOT NULL, (this should be D for direct and W for water-mediated) other columns about the contact, such as the distance Current solution (insufficient) Now, I'm going through all the contacts which have donor.amino = "HOH". In this sample case, this would select contacts from C and D. For each of these selected contacts, I look up contacts having the same acceptor_id as is the donor_id in the currently selected contact. From this information, I create the new contact. At the end, I delete all contacts to or from HOH. This way, I am obviously unable to create C-D and A-B contacts (the other 4 are OK). If I try a similar approach - trying to find two contacts having the same donor_id, I end up with duplicate contacts (C-D and D-C). Is there a simple way to retrieve all six contacts without duplicates? I'm dreaming about some one page long SQL query which retrievs just these six wanted rows. :-) It is preferable to conserve information about who is donor where possible, but not strictly necessary. Big thanks to all of you who read this question to this point.

  • Java OutOfMemoryError message changes when trying to create Arrays of different sizes

    - by Gordon
    In the question by DKSRathore How to simulate the Out Of memory : Requested array size exceeds VM limit some odd behavior was noted when creating an arrays. When creating an array of size Integer.MAX_VALUE an exception with the error java.lang.OutOfMemoryError Requested array size exceeds VM limit was thrown. However when an array was created with a size less than the max but still above the virtual machine memory limit the error message read java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space. Testing further I managed to narrow down where the error messages changes. long[] l = new long[2147483645]; exceptions message reads - Requested array size exceeds VM limit long[] l = new long[2147483644]; exceptions message reads - Java heap space errors I increased my virtual machine memory and still produced the same result. Has anyone any idea why this happens? Some extra info: Integer.MAX_VALUE = 2147483647. Edit: Here's the code I used to find the value, might be helpful. int max = Integer.MAX_VALUE; boolean done = false; while (!done) { try { max--; // Throws an error long[] l = new long[max]; // Exit if an error is no longer thrown done = true; } catch (OutOfMemoryError e) { if (!e.getMessage().contains("Requested array size exceeds VM limit")) { System.out.println("Message changes at " + max); done = true; } } }

  • Bulk Insert of hundreds of millions of records

    - by Dave Jarvis
    What is the fastest way to insert 237 million records into a table that has rules (for distributing the data across 84 child tables)? First I tried inserts. No go. Then I tried inserts with BEGIN/COMMIT. Not nearly fast enough. Next, I tried COPY FROM, but then noticed the documentation states that the rules are ignored. (And it was having difficulties with the column order and date format -- it said that '1984-07-1' was not a valid integer; true, but a bit unexpected.) Some example data: station_id,taken,amount,category_id,flag 1,'1984-07-1',0,4, 1,'1984-07-2',0,4, 1,'1984-07-3',0,4, 1,'1984-07-4',0,4,T Here is the table structure (with one rule included): CREATE TABLE climate.measurement ( id bigserial NOT NULL, station_id integer NOT NULL, taken date NOT NULL, amount numeric(8,2) NOT NULL, category_id smallint NOT NULL, flag character varying(1) NOT NULL DEFAULT ' '::character varying ) WITH ( OIDS=FALSE ); ALTER TABLE climate.measurement OWNER TO postgres; CREATE OR REPLACE RULE i_measurement_01_001 AS ON INSERT TO climate.measurement WHERE date_part('month'::text, new.taken)::integer = 1 AND new.category_id = 1 DO INSTEAD INSERT INTO climate.measurement_01_001 (id, station_id, taken, amount, category_id, flag) VALUES (new.id, new.station_id, new.taken, new.amount, new.category_id, new.flag); I can generate the data into any format. Am looking for something that won't take four days. I originally had the data in MySQL (still do), but am hoping to get a performance increase by switching to PostgreSQL and am eager to use its PL/R extensions for stats. I was also thinking about using: http://pgbulkload.projects.postgresql.org/ Any help, tips, or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • How to enforce foreign keys using Xerial SQLite JDBC?

    - by Space_C0wb0y
    According to their release notes, the Xerial SQLite JDBC driver supports foreign keys since version 3.6.20.1. I have tried some time now to get a foreign key constraint to be enforced, but to no avail. Here is what I came up with: public static void main(String[] args) throws ClassNotFoundException, SQLException { Class.forName("org.sqlite.JDBC"); SQLiteConfig config = new SQLiteConfig(); config.enforceForeignKeys(true); Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:sqlite::memory:", config.toProperties()); connection.createStatement().executeUpdate( "CREATE TABLE artist(" + "artistid INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, " + "artistname TEXT);"); connection.createStatement().executeUpdate( "CREATE TABLE track("+ "trackid INTEGER," + "trackname TEXT," + "trackartist INTEGER," + "FOREIGN KEY(trackartist) REFERENCES artist(artistid)" + ");"); connection.createStatement().executeUpdate( "INSERT INTO track VALUES(14, 'Mr. Bojangles', 3)"); } The table definitions are taken directly from the sample in the SQLite documentation. This is supposed to fail, but it doesn't. I also checked, and it really inserts the tuple (no ignore or something like that). Does anyone have any experience with that, or knows how to make it work?

  • rails: has_many :through validation?

    - by ramonrails
    Rails 2.1.0 (Cannot upgrade for now due to several constraints) I am trying to achieve this. Any hints? A project has many users through join model A user has many projects through join model Admin class inherits User class. It also has some Admin specific stuff. Admin like inheritance for Supervisor and Operator Project has one Admin, One supervisor and many operators. Now I want to 1. submit data for project, admin, supervisor and operator in a single project form 2. validate all and show errors on the project form. Project has_many :projects_users ; has_many :users, :through => :projects_users User has_many :projects_users ; has_many :projects, :through => :projects_users ProjectsUser = :id integer, :user_id :integer, :project_id :integer, :user_type :string ProjectUser belongs_to :project, belongs_to :user Admin < User # User has 'type:string' column for STI Supervisor < User Operator < User Is the approach correct? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

  • java - codesprint2 programming contest answer

    - by arya
    I recently took part in Codesprint2. I was unable to submit the solution to the following question. http://www.spoj.pl/problems/COINTOSS/ ( I have posted the link to the problem statement at spoj because the codesprint link requires login ) I checked out one of the successful solutions, ( url : http://pastebin.com/uQhNh9Rc ) and the logic used is exactly the same as mine, yet I am still getting "Wrong Answer" I would be very thankful if someone could please tell me what error I have made, as I am unable to find it. Thank you. My code : import java.io.BufferedReader; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStreamReader; import java.text.DecimalFormat; import java.util.StringTokenizer; public class Solution { static double solve( int n, int m ) { if( m==n ) return 0; if( m==0 ) return ( Math.pow( 2, n+1 ) - 2 ); else { double res = 1 + ( Double )( solve( n, m+1 ) + solve( n, 0 ))/2; return res; } } public static void main( String[] args ) throws IOException { BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader( new InputStreamReader( System.in )); int n, m; int t = Integer.parseInt( br.readLine() ); StringTokenizer tok; String s; for( int T=0; T<t; T++ ) { s = br.readLine(); tok = new StringTokenizer( s ); n = Integer.parseInt( tok.nextToken() ); m = Integer.parseInt( tok.nextToken() ); DecimalFormat df = new DecimalFormat(); df.setMaximumFractionDigits(2); df.setMinimumFractionDigits(2); System.out.println( df.format ( solve( n, m ) )); } } }

  • Using A Local file path in a Streamwriter object ASP.Net

    - by Nick LaMarca
    I am trying to create a csv file of some data. I have wrote a function that successfully does this.... Private Sub CreateCSVFile(ByVal dt As DataTable, ByVal strFilePath As String) Dim sw As New StreamWriter(strFilePath, False) ''# First we will write the headers. ''EDataTable dt = m_dsProducts.Tables[0]; Dim iColCount As Integer = dt.Columns.Count For i As Integer = 0 To iColCount - 1 sw.Write(dt.Columns(i)) If i < iColCount - 1 Then sw.Write(",") End If Next sw.Write(sw.NewLine) ''# Now write all the rows. For Each dr As DataRow In dt.Rows For i As Integer = 0 To iColCount - 1 If Not Convert.IsDBNull(dr(i)) Then sw.Write(dr(i).ToString()) End If If i < iColCount - 1 Then sw.Write(",") End If Next sw.Write(sw.NewLine) Next sw.Close() End Sub The problem is I am not using the streamwriter object correctly for what I trying to accomplish. Since this is an asp.net I need the user to pick a local filepath to put the file on. If I pass any path to this function its gonna try to write it to the directory specified on the server where the code is. I would like this to popup and let the user select a place on their local machine to put the file.... Dim exData As Byte() = File.ReadAllBytes(Server.MapPath(eio)) File.Delete(Server.MapPath(eio)) Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", String.Format("attachment; filename={0}", fn)) Response.ContentType = "application/x-msexcel" Response.BinaryWrite(exData) Response.Flush() Response.End() I am calling the first function in code like this... Dim emplTable As DataTable = SiteAccess.DownloadEmployee_H() CreateCSVFile(emplTable, "C:\\EmplTable.csv") Where I dont want to have specify the file loaction (because this will put the file on the server and not on a client machine) but rather let the user select the location on their client machine. Can someone help me put this together? Thanks in advance.

  • How can I find out if two arguments are instances of the same, but unknown class?

    - by Ingmar
    Let us say we have a method which accepts two arguments o1 and o2 of type Object and returns a boolean value. I want this method to return true only when the arguments are instances of the same class, e.g.: foo(new Integer(4),new Integer(5)); Should return true, however: foo(new SomeClass(), new SubtypeSomeClass()); should return false and also: foo(new Integer(3),"zoo"); should return false. I believe one way is to compare the fully qualified class names: public boolean foo(Object o1, Object o2){ Class<? extends Object> c1 = o1.getClass(); Class<? extends Object> c2 = o2.getClass(); if(c1.getName().equals(c2.getName()){ return true;} return false; } An alternative conditional statement would be : if (c1.isAssignableFrom(c2) && c2.isAssignableFrom(c1)){ return true; } The latter alternative is rather slow. Are there other alternatives to this problem?

  • iPhone/iPad : Check for invalid characters in a textbox made for Integers only

    - by JustinXXVII
    I noticed that the iPhone OS is pretty good about picking out Integer values when asked to. Specifically, if you use NSString *stringName = @"6("; int number = [stringName intValue]; the iPhone OS will pick out the 6 and turn the variable number into 6. However, in more complex mistypes, this also makes the int variable 6: NSString *stringName = @"6(5"; int number = [stringName intValue]; The iPhone OS misses the other digit, when what could have possibly been the user trying to enter the number 65, the OS only gets the number 6 out of it. I need a solution to check a string for invalid characters and return NO if there is anything other than an unsigned integer in a textbox. This is for iPad, and currently there is no numeric keyboard like the iPhone has, and I'm instead limited to the standard 123 keyboard. I was thinking that I need to use NSRange and somehow loop through the entire string in the textbox, and checking to see if the current character in the iteration is a number. I'm lost as far as that goes. I can think of testing it against zero, but zero is a valid integer. Can anyone help?

  • Creating self-referential tables with polymorphism in SQLALchemy

    - by Jace
    I'm trying to create a db structure in which I have many types of content entities, of which one, a Comment, can be attached to any other. Consider the following: from datetime import datetime from sqlalchemy import create_engine from sqlalchemy import Column, ForeignKey from sqlalchemy import Unicode, Integer, DateTime from sqlalchemy.orm import relation, backref from sqlalchemy.ext.declarative import declarative_base Base = declarative_base() class Entity(Base): __tablename__ = 'entities' id = Column(Integer, primary_key=True) created_at = Column(DateTime, default=datetime.utcnow, nullable=False) edited_at = Column(DateTime, default=datetime.utcnow, onupdate=datetime.utcnow, nullable=False) type = Column(Unicode(20), nullable=False) __mapper_args__ = {'polymorphic_on': type} # <...insert some models based on Entity...> class Comment(Entity): __tablename__ = 'comments' __mapper_args__ = {'polymorphic_identity': u'comment'} id = Column(None, ForeignKey('entities.id'), primary_key=True) _idref = relation(Entity, foreign_keys=id, primaryjoin=id == Entity.id) attached_to_id = Column(Integer, ForeignKey('entities.id'), nullable=False) #attached_to = relation(Entity, remote_side=[Entity.id]) attached_to = relation(Entity, foreign_keys=attached_to_id, primaryjoin=attached_to_id == Entity.id, backref=backref('comments', cascade="all, delete-orphan")) text = Column(Unicode(255), nullable=False) engine = create_engine('sqlite://', echo=True) Base.metadata.bind = engine Base.metadata.create_all(engine) This seems about right, except SQLAlchemy doesn't like having two foreign keys pointing to the same parent. It says ArgumentError: Can't determine join between 'entities' and 'comments'; tables have more than one foreign key constraint relationship between them. Please specify the 'onclause' of this join explicitly. How do I specify onclause?

  • Problems when I try to see databases in SQLite

    - by Sabau Andreea
    I created in code a database and two tables: static final String dbName="graficeCirculatie"; static final String ruteTable="Rute"; static final String colRuteId="RutaID"; static final String colRuta="Ruta"; static final String statiaTable="Statia"; static final String colStatiaID="StatiaID"; static final String colIdRuta="IdRuta"; static final String colStatia="Statia"; public DatabaseHelper(Context context) { super(context, dbName, null,33); } public void onCreate(SQLiteDatabase db) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub db.execSQL("CREATE TABLE " + statiaTable + " (" + colStatiaID + " INTEGER PRIMARY KEY , " + colIdRuta + " INTEGER, " + colStatia + " TEXT)"); db.execSQL("CREATE TABLE " + ruteTable + "(" + colRuteId + " INTEGER PRIMARY KEY AUTOINCREMENT, " + colRuta + " TEXT);"); InsertDepts(db); } void InsertDepts(SQLiteDatabase db) { ContentValues cv = new ContentValues(); cv.put(colRuteId, 1); cv.put(colRuta, "Expres8"); db.insert(ruteTable, colRuteId, cv); cv.put(colRuteId, 2); cv.put(colRuta, "Expres2"); db.insert(ruteTable, colRuteId, cv); cv.put(colRuteId, 3); cv.put(colRuta, "Expres3"); db.insert(ruteTable, colRuteId, cv); } Now I want to see tables inputs from command line. I try in this way: C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\tools sqlite3 SQLite version 3.7.4 Enter ".help" for instructions Enter SQL statements terminated with a ";" sqlite sqlite3 graficeCirculatie ... select * from ruteTable; And I got an error: Error: near "squlite3": syntax error. Can someone help me?

  • Finds in Rails 3 and ActiveRelation

    - by TheDelChop
    Guys, I'm trying to understand the new arel engine in Rails 3 and I've got a question. I've got two models, User and Task class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :tasks end class Task < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user end here is my routes to imply the relation: resources :users do resources :tasks end and here is my Tasks controller: class TasksController < ApplicationController before_filter :load_user def new @task = @user.tasks.new end private def load_user @user = User.where(:id => params[:user_id]) end end Problem is, I get the following error when I try to invoke the new action: NoMethodError: undefined method `tasks' for #<ActiveRecord::Relation:0x3dc2488> I am sure my problem is with the new arel engine, does anybody understand what I'm doing wrong? Sorry guys, here is my schema.db file: ActiveRecord::Schema.define(:version => 20100525021007) do create_table "tasks", :force => true do |t| t.string "name" t.integer "estimated_time" t.datetime "created_at" t.datetime "updated_at" t.integer "user_id" end create_table "users", :force => true do |t| t.string "email", :default => "", :null => false t.string "encrypted_password", :limit => 128, :default => "", :null => false t.string "password_salt", :default => "", :null => false t.string "reset_password_token" t.string "remember_token" t.datetime "remember_created_at" t.integer "sign_in_count", :default => 0 t.datetime "current_sign_in_at" t.datetime "last_sign_in_at" t.string "current_sign_in_ip" t.string "last_sign_in_ip" t.datetime "created_at" t.datetime "updated_at" t.string "username" end add_index "users", ["email"], :name => "index_users_on_email", :unique => true add_index "users", ["reset_password_token"], :name => "index_users_on_reset_password_token", :unique => true add_index "users", ["username"], :name => "index_users_on_username", :unique => true end Thank you, Joe

  • how do simple SQLAlchemy relationships work?

    - by Carson Myers
    I'm no database expert -- I just know the basics, really. I've picked up SQLAlchemy for a small project, and I'm using the declarative base configuration rather than the "normal" way. This way seems a lot simpler. However, while setting up my database schema, I realized I don't understand some database relationship concepts. If I had a many-to-one relationship before, for example, articles by authors (where each article could be written by only a single author), I would put an author_id field in my articles column. But SQLAlchemy has this ForeignKey object, and a relationship function with a backref kwarg, and I have no idea what any of it MEANS. I'm scared to find out what a many-to-many relationship with an intermediate table looks like (when I need additional data about each relationship). Can someone demystify this for me? Right now I'm setting up to allow openID auth for my application. So I've got this: from __init__ import Base from sqlalchemy.schema import Column from sqlalchemy.types import Integer, String class Users(Base): __tablename__ = 'users' id = Column(Integer, primary_key=True) username = Column(String, unique=True) email = Column(String) password = Column(String) salt = Column(String) class OpenID(Base): __tablename__ = 'openid' url = Column(String, primary_key=True) user_id = #? I think the ? should be replaced by Column(Integer, ForeignKey('users.id')), but I'm not sure -- and do I need to put openids = relationship("OpenID", backref="users") in the Users class? Why? What does it do? What is a backref?
