  • How to change icon/emblem of a directory from bash

    I'm playing around with get_iplayer (fantastic) it's running every few hours to grab any new episodes of whatever.... After it has finished grabbing anything new i'd like to change the emblem of ~/Videos to add a plus or star (nautilus emblem preferably) Do i go about this via nautilus? Do i need to change something in gnome-config? I'm sure this can't be FS level? Cheers for any links and advice.

  • WP7 PanoramaItem with Icon/Button next to Header

    Windows Phone 7's People hub has an "all" panorama item with "search" and a "new" buttons right next to the header/title. I can't seem to accomplish this with PanoramaItem in Visual Studio using the standard Panorama control. I don't know enough Silverlight/WPF either to be able to position something manually and control transitions/movement correctly. How can I set a button (or any object, for that matter) to go alongside the header of a wp7 PanoramaItem? Thanks!

  • AutoComplete textbox and "Hide Pointer While Typing" in windows

    How can the "Hide Pointer While Typing" option be disabled by application? I'm having an issue with the cursor hiding and not getting it back without pressing escape or losing window focus. The application has been written in C# and uses WPF. A technology specific answer is not required because it'll likely be possible using any technology. Here's the scenario: A user can type in a TextBox and an AutoComplete list shows up below the box. Once the user starts typing though, he/she can no longer select an item from the drop down because there is no mouse cursor. I noticed that Firefox does not have this behavior. For example, while typing in a URL in the address bar the mouse cursor never disappears. There are other places I've seen this behavior so I know it must be possible. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    When I show a hidden div that is stored inside an <li> tag the icons are pushing down to the bottom of the <li>. How can I prevent this?   • Calculating toolbar icon width

    I am building an RDP client and I have toolbar that shows the running applications, same as the Windows toolbar. I need to support dual monitors, so my questions are 1) How do I detect that there is more than one monitor and 2) Is there a formula for calculating the width of the icons on the toolbar? I know that at the start, the width is not dependent on the number of monitors, and is always the same size. What does change is the number of icons I can display before I must start "shrinking" their width, and it will depend on the screen resolution as well. Any ideas?

  • How can I make the small icon(16x16)?

    Hi All, I found it difficult to make small icons look clear and clean. For instance, I made the 16x16 size icons, they looked ok in PS or AI, but after saved them as some other image types, they are not that clear at all. Is that because i used wrong color or wrong tools? I wonder if there are some special tools for making extremely small icons. So any options? How i can make them look more clear and clean?     Hi, I'm problem with defining a mouse over effect for my datatables. I have <a4j:form> <rich:dataTable id="dataTable"> ... </rich:dataTable> <rich:datascroller id="dataScroller" for="dataTable" /> </a4j:form> <rich:jQuery selector="#dataTable tr" query="mouseover(function(){jQuery(this).addClass('active-row')})"/> <rich:jQuery selector="#dataTable tr" query="mouseout(function(){jQuery(this).removeClass('active-row')})"/> which are working fine on the very first page. However if I use the datascroller to goto another page, the mouseover effect is gone. I've tried reRendering the table or the jQuery components, that didn't help with the problem at all. Any suggestion on how I can get this working? Thanks!

    Hi! I have an application in WPF C# where other than the purpose of what it's done, I customized the close and minimize buttons. The problem is that when I minimize, all is good, I cycle around all other apps, but, when I want to go back to the application, I click in the window in the taskbar, and the window pops up... But when it pops up, the window pursues the mouse pointer throughout the screen...     I want it to move when the mouse moves, and disappear when the pointer isn't over the label. If you leave your mouse still on top, and then move a smidgen to the left or right, it triggers again. There's some other silliness going on if you move around The code is pretty simple: $('li.post').hover(function(){ $(this).find('.meta').slideDown('fast'); }, function(){ $(this).find('.meta').slideUp('fast'); }) Any idea why things are behaving like this? This seems to only be happening in Firefox (i'm using 3.5.5 on OSX) UPDATE After restarting Firefox, all is well! Thanks for the input!

  • Preventing mouse emulation events (ie click) from touch events in Mobile Safari / iPhone using Javas

    In doing a single page Javascript app with interactive DOM elements I've found that the "mouseover-mousemove-mousedown-mouseup-click" sequence happens all in a bunch after the "touchstart-touchmove-touchend" sequence of events. I've also found that it is possible to prevent the "mouse*-click" events from happening by doing an "event.preventDefault()" during the touchstart event, but only then, and not during the touchmove and touchend. This is a strange design, because because it is not possible to know during the touchstart yet whether the user intents to drag or swipe or just tap/click on the item. I ended up setting up a "ignore_next_click" flag somewhere tied to a timestamp, but this is obviously not very clean. Does anybody know of a better way of doing this, or are we missing something? Note that while a "click" can be recognized as a "touchstart-touchend" sequence (ie no "touchmove"), there are certain things, such as keyboard input focus, that can only happen during a proper click event.

    Hi all, I'm creating a firefox add-on, and I have a situation where if someone clicks on a specific item in my toolbarbutton menupopup, I want to display some text to appear beside the mouse for a couple seconds. I don't mean mouseover text, because when they click on the item, the I close the menupopup. I mean something like what's shown at this site: http://www.kingsquare.nl/cursormessage The normal way of doing this would be with javascript and a div that would have the text I want to show. Unfortunately, I've discovered that the toolbarbutton can't have an effect on the main window, which is where I'd need to place the div to show. I've tried getting JQuery to work and haven't been successful either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Flash receives mouse events under an HTML element when opacity set

    I have an HTML document with a Flash object and an absolutely positioned HTML element above it. If I set the HTML element's opacity CSS property to any value less than 1, the Flash object (that is actually covered) receives mouse events. This problem cannot be reproduced with pure HTML elements. Furthermore, Flash only receives hover events, so I cannot click below the layer. I put a demonstration of the problem online. I get this behavior in Firefox 3.6, Safari 4.0 and Chrome 5.0 in both Mac and Windows. Flash plugin version 10 is installed. Is it a bug or the the normal and expected behavior? If the latter, then how can I prevent Flash receiving events when it is covered with a translucent layer?

  • Finding the closest grid coordinate to the mouse position with javascript/jQuery

    What I'm trying to do is make a grid of invisible coordinates on the page equally spaced. I then want a <div> to be placed at whatever grid coordinate is closest to the pointer when onclick is triggered. Here's the rough idea: I have the tracking of the mouse coordinates and the placing of the <div> worked out fine. What I'm stuck with is how to approach the problem of the grid of coordinates. First of all, should I have all my coordinates in an array which I then compare my onclick coordinate to? Or seeing as my grid coordinates follow a rule, could I do something like finding out which coordinate that is a multiple of whatever my spacing is is closest to the onclick coordinate? And then, where do I start with working out which grid point coordinate is closest? What's the best way of going about it? Thanks!

I want the function to return the same values no matter where my elements are on the same page.
