  Hey! So, I have configured a pc with no monitor, keyboard or mouse running Ubuntu. I use it as a ssh server, file backup, web server, etc. Though, it seems as if I could use it for sooo much more. • Elantech touchpad: Right + Left click doesn't work

  This is very common problem and till yet unresolved. The Elantech driver disables right button + left button touchpad click. In the result you cannot aim and shoot in games also you cannot code that kind of interaction in your applications. Driver detects LMB+RMB click but it somehow filters it. I could not find correct entry in the registry to disable that obviously horrible setting. Please notice: 1. I have the latest drivers the problem existed with really old ones, a year old, on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 ones and current. 2. It has nothing to do with the Windows or hardware but only with the Elantech driver settings. 3. Driver detects LMB+RMB click - it is shown on a dynamic icon on a task bar also uninstalling drivers fix the problem, but then you can't use your touchpad fully.

• Looking for a USB A/B Box

  I have a laptop and a tower, and I usually like to use the laptop for my chat and other miscellaneous tasks while the tower is doing the hard work during video editing projects and such. Due to the way my desk is set up, it's kind of a stretch to reach over to the laptop's keyboard all the time, and having a second keyboard/mouse is rather cumbersome, albeit manageable if I keep the second keyboard in my lap. Does anyone make an A/B box that I can plug into the tower and the laptop so I can just flip the keyboard over to the appropriate machine as needed?

• Linux Mint loses Window Focus

  I recently installed Linux Mint 13 64bit with Cinamon Desktop and run into a weird problem. It's about losing Mouse-Focus if more than one Window are open. For Example, I open up Chromium, play around a little bit, and then, if I try to open any Programms from the Taskbar, I cannot click on it. It seems that Chromium won't free his Focus. Another Example, if I open two Windows (e.g. Chromium and a Terminal) and I work with Chromium, then click into the Terminal I get no Focus to it. Sorry, its a bit hard to explain.

• Certain running applications cause middle-click in firefox to function differently under windows 7

  If I have photoshop, vlc player, or even just the windows task list open, when I middle click in firefox to get it to open in new tab (by depressing both buttons on my Lenovo g550 with alps touchpad), the mouse icon changes to some variety of scroll type feature, middle click doesn't work, and if I persist then the other programs take focus, and some crash. I assume the scroll like feature must be intended as added functionality in either windows 7 or the alps touchpad driver, but no settings adjustments seem to be able to remove this, and I could see nothing regarding this in firefox. I would really like to fix this! Thanks.

However, it's so hacky that it won't work on HTTPS sites unless you enable user javascript there, which doesn't seem like a good idea. There also seem to be other proposed solutions, but none of them seem to work. I'd like this because my laptop has no middle mouse-button, and I'm a creature of habit. • How to Disable Touchpad tap in Toshiba Tecra R850 in Oneiric - it is recognized as a PS/2 mouse

  I know there's a lot of similar questions, but nothing I have tried here works yet - perhaps I was doing it wrong. New Laptop - Toshiba Tecra R850 with an install of Oneiric 64 bit. Mostly things are working well, but I have a problem with the touchpad (or whatever it's called) - whenever I use it for moving the mouse pointer I accidentally tap on it - basically I am clicking all over the place by accident. So I want to disable the tap-as-click (after all, I have buttons for clicks too). I open up "Mouse and Touchpad" and on the Touchpad tab I check "Disable touchpad when typing" and UNcheck "Enable mouse clicks with touchpad". This does not achieve anything. Ditto Synaptiks and other similar tools. EDIT OK it turns out that this is a somewhat known problem - it seems the touchpad is not being recognized as a touchpad, it is seen as a PS/2 mouse. So any adjustments made with various settings programs to the "touchpad" don't affect it. I've been looking at solutions for getting the touchpad correctly recognized and not achieved it yet - seems there is a problem at the kernel level...I tried (foolishly) a suggestion to replace the psmouse.ko driver ...this screwed some stuff up and didn't solve my problem. • converting 2D mouse coordinates to 3D space in OpenGL ES

  I want to convert mouse's current X and Y coordinates into the 3D space I have drawn in the viewport. I need to do this on the OpenGL ES platform. I found following possible solutions implemented in OpenGL, but none fits what I am looking for. I found NeHe's tutorial on doing exactly this, but in traditional OpenGL way. It uses gluUnProject. http://nehe.gamedev.net/data/articles/article.asp?article=13 Although gluUnProject is not available in OpenGL ES, its implementation seems simple enough to port back. But before calling it, we need to call glReadPixels with GL_DEPTH_COMPONENT and that is not possible in OpenGL ES. (The reason I found in this thread: http://www.khronos.org/message_boards/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=771) What I want to do is similar to picking, except that I don't want to select the object but I want exact coordinates so that I can recognize particular portion of the object that is currently under mouse cursor. I went through the Picking tutorials in this answer. http://stackoverflow.com/posts/2211312/revisions But they need glRenderMode, which I believe is absent in OpenGL ES. If you know how to solve this problem in OpenGL ES, please let me know. Thanks.

• Flex HTMLLoader component not raising mouseDown events for all mouse clicks

  I have built a Air 2/Flex 4 kiosk application with Flash Builder 4. Currently I am implementing a touch screen browser to enable users to navigate company training videos. In an attempt to improve the usability of the website on the touchscreen I have placed the HTML component in an adaption of Doug McCune's DragScrollingCanvas (updated to use the flex 4 'Scroller' component) to allow users to scroll the webpage by dragging their finger across the screen. The mouseDown event is used to start scrolling the viewport. In addition the webpage was modified to disable text selection with the following css: html { -webkit-user-select: none; cursor: default; } The problem I face is that the HTMLLoader component only fires a mouseDown if a link/input/button on the webpage is clicked, not when the background or any text is clicked. In addition if I remove the custom css the mouseDown event will not fire when text is being selected, but will if previously highlighted text is clicked. As an alternative I also tried adding a group container with the same dimensions as the HTMLLoader to detect the mouseDown events (so that the group container and HTMLLoader have the same Dragable parent container) and was able to capture mouseDown events and scroll the viewport as expected. However as the mouse event is handled by the group container, I am now unable to navigate the webpage. Does anybody know why the HTMLLoader component is not raising mouseDown events for all mouse clicks?

• Capturing mouse events for specific dom/web elements in QT

  Hi I would like to know if it is possible in QTWebKit to install an event filter or capture events that occur from specific Dom elements. For example, my webview is showing a webpage that has text, images and an edit box, I want to disable the right-clicking and highlighting functionality on the text and images but at the same time when the user right-clicks inside the edit box, I want to display my context menu. I am not sure where should I install my event filter, in QwebView or QwebPage... currently this is what I'm using: MainWindow::MainWindow() { centralWidget = new WebView(this); setCentralWidget(centralWidget); centralWidget->webView->installEventFilter(this); //No mouse events are rising on QWebPage //centralWidget->webView->page()->installEventFilter(this); } As its clear in the code above, when installing an EventFilter on QwebPage, I never receive any QMouseEvents, not by moving clicking or releasing any mouse buttons. I want to remove all client action/mouse events (or simply grab and do nothing) while client is waiting response from server by means of glasssPane. And If I removed the mouse listener the problem then be solved. Is it because I doing something wrong at the mouse click listener?

• Eclipse making background video skip with almost every click of the mouse

  The problem is i like to listen to videos online (mostly or all flash video) while programming and never had any problems until i started using eclipse, now every time i do just about anything other than type, it makes the video skip/freeze really bad and is really annoying. I have never had this happen using visual studio, netbeans, or adobe flash for that matter, unless i was compiling or doing something that hogs the processor. Are there any settings that might could fix this its getting really annoying. it happens almost every time i even click "find" on the find pop-up window and it is not like it is having to search a big file or anything it is only 700 lines, with honestly only about 1/2 that have content on them. Any ideas?

• Copy and Paste without needing to use the Mouse

  In previous versions of windows when your were Copying Files (Ctrl-C) then alt-Tab (to the appropriate window) and Pasting (Ctrl-V) using the Keyboard everything could be driven by the keyboard. With Vista and 7, it seems if you are copying and pasting (and the files exist) in the Destination Location you have to Click the Copy and Replace, there doesn't seem to be a way to do it... "Do this for the next {n} Conflicts" can be driven by Alt-D, but the "Copy and Replace" and "Don't Copy" are not. Or is there and have I just missed something? I'm more than happy to change registry or something to enable Keyboard shortcuts for this.

It displays important information related to the business, I'd rather that random users that walk in can't just walk over to it and start using the computer with the same access rights as the user the monitoring software is running as. What I would like is if any time someone presses a button on the keyboard including alt-ctrl-delete all that would appear is a dialog asking for a password.
