Link to RSS/Atom feed, relative, doesn't work in Firefox

I have a weird problem. I generate a HTML page, hosted let's say at http://www.x.com/stuff which contains <head> <link type="application/atom+xml" rel="alternate" href="/stuff/feed"/> .. </head> The result is: In IE7 all works well - you can click on the feed icon in the browser and the feed is displayed In Firefox, view source, click on the linked /stuff/feed and you see the source of the feed, so that works as expected In Firefox, view the page (not source), then click on the feed icon in the address bar, I get an error that it can't retrieve the URL feed://http//www.x.com/stuff/feed So the problem is, that it's appending feed:// to the front of the URL and then taking out the colon : after the http. I understand that feed: is HTTP anyway so perhaps the adding of that isn't a big problem. But anyway, the fact is, that URL Firefox generates out of my <link> tag doesn't work. I have considered making the URL absolute, but I haven't found any evidence that those URLs have to be absolute, nor can I understand why that would be the case. And for various reasons it would be inconvenient in my code to generate an absolute URL. I can do it if necessary but I would prefer to see proof (e.g. specification, or Mozilla bug report) that it's necessary before making my code messy What do you think? Does anyone know of any evidence that the URL should be absolute? Or am I doing something else wrong? It seems such a simple/obvious tag, where nothing could go wrong, but I can't get it to work.

jQuery Datatables throws error when dynamically created row headers

I am using the Datatables jquery plugin for one of my projects. For one in particular, the number of columns can vary based on how many children a consumer has (yes I realize normalization and proper technique would insert on another row but it is a client requirement). UPDATE REGARDING COMMENTS/ANSWERS I have received a number of responses indicating the number of headers may not match the field count in the body. As I mention below, eliminating the php script below altogether would eliminate 5+ fields in the header and without question throw the count match off balance. This DOES NOT however cause an error and in fact "resolves" the issue in that datatables functions properly (even though there is NO header record for 5+ fields in the body.

django : Serving static files through nginx

I'm using apache+mod_wsgi for django. And all css/js/images are served through nginx. For some odd, reason when others/friends/colleagues try accessing the site, jquery/css is not getting loaded for them, hence the page looks jumbled up. My html files use code like this - <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://x.x.x.x:8000/css/custom.css"/> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://1x.x.x.x:8000/js/custom.js"></script> My nginx configuration in sites-available is like this - server { listen 8000; server_name localhost; access_log /var/log/nginx/aa8000.access.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/aa8000.error.log; location / { index index.html index.htm; } location /static/ { autoindex on; root /opt/aa/webroot/; } } There is a directory /opt/aa/webroot/static/ which have corresponding css & js directories. The odd thing is that the pages show fine when I access them. I have cleared my cache/etc, but the page loads fine for me, from various browsers. Also, I don't see 404 any error in the nginx log files. Any pointers would be great.

[FormatException: Invalid length for a Base-64 char array.] System.Convert.FromBase64CharArray(Char[] inArray, Int32 offset, Int32 length) System.Web.HttpServerUtility.UrlTokenDecode(String input) System.Web.HttpServerUtilityWrapper.UrlTokenDecode(String input) ... Any ideas what would cause this phenomenon? What are the drawbacks of using PHP to create variables in my CSS stylesheet?

One significant drawback of CSS is that one can't use variables. For example, I'd like to use variables to control the location of imported CSS, and it would be awesome to create variables for colors that are used repeatedly in a design. One approach is to use a PHP file for the CSS stylesheet. In other words, create a "style.php" with... <?php header("Content-type: text/css"); ?> ...at the top of the file, and then link to it using... <link href="style.php" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> ...in any file that uses these styles. So what's the catch? I think it might be performance -- I did a few quick experiments in Firefox/Firebug and as one would expect, the CSS stylesheet is cached, but the PHP stylesheet isn't. So we're paying the price of an additional GET. The other annoying thing is that TextMate does not syntax highlight properly for CSS in a .php file. Are there other drawbacks? Have you used this approach, and if so, would you recommend it?

JQuery UI Tabs: Apply opacity toggle to only specific inner element?

I am using Jquery UI tabs, and have it set to toggle the opacity with each slide change. I'm wondering if there's a way to apply the opacity toggle to only a single element within each tab, instead of the entire tab. My understanding of jQuery is pretty basic, so bear with me. So, If I have something like this: <div id="tabs"> <ul id="tabs-nav><li></li></ul> <div id="tab-1"> <img /> <p /> </div> <div id="tab-2"> <img /> <p /> </div> ...etc </div> How could I set it so that only the <img> has an effect applied, and the rest just switches normally? JQuery Autocomplete Where the Results are Links

I am trying to create a JQuery Autocomplete box where the words being suggested for autcomplete are links (similar to what happens on Facebook or Quora). Basically, I want the autocomplete results to drop down and I want people to be able to click on them and be navigated to a different page. jQueryUI Slider handle not moving

I'm trying to implement a jQuery slider with increments. I've gone from, the actual project page, to a test page of the project with just the slider, to just the slider. In all cases I've been unable to get the handle to move. It also seems to have a width of 1px or similar. How to access C arrays from assembler for Windows x64?

I've written an assembler function to speed up a few things for image processing (images are created with CreateDIBSection). For Win32 the assembler code works without problems, but for Win64 I get a crash as soon as I try to access my array data. I put the relevant info in a struct and my assembler function gets a pointer to this struct. The struct pointer is put into ebx/rbx and with indexing I read the data from the struct. Any idea what I am doing wrong? I use nasm together with Visual Studio 2008 and for Win64 I set "default rel". Scope of This JavaScript Variable

I have a question and an issue wrt the code below: My question is what is the scope of the variable loaded here. The reason why i ask this is the onload="if(loaded==1)inittextarea() code is working fine on Firefox and not IE8. Why is this happening? Is there something specific i need to do here? Jquery UI modal dialogs

Hi All. I have a problem with Jquery UI modal dialogs. I have modal dialog (dialogA), which can create another modal dialog (dialogB). After the second creation and closure of the dialogB the overlay of dialogA disappear. Why won't my styles show in a Dynamics CRM 4 IFRAME?

I have created a web page (ASP.NET) that includes a stylesheet to mimic Dynamics CRM styles. This is to be used in a CRM IFRAME (within a form). The stylesheet is referenced as follows: <head id="Head1" runat="server"> <link href="Styles.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </head> When I load the page in Visual Studio, all is well. When I load it in CRM, none of the styles are shown and no images are displayed. If I browse directly to the image, I get a 404 error. However, the pages function correctly. I have set read permissions for "Everyone" on the server to see if that was causing a problem but it didn't help. I also tried putting a plain HTML page in the folder and that won't load either - again a 404. The page is installed in the ISV folder ..../isv/MyProject. Can anyone help? EDIT This is on a multi-tenancy system. On my test company (testcompany) if I browse to http://crm/testcompany/isv/MyProject/MyPage.aspx, the page is loaded (without styles and images). If I browse to http://crm/testcompany/isv/MyProject/TestImage.gif, the image is not shown. If I browse to http://crm/isv/MyProject/TestImage.gif, the image is shown. Does this suggest a problem with the server setup and the way CRM messes around with virtual directories?

Use jQuery to find and add an image tooltip

Hey people Okay, what I'm trying to accomplish is a simple tool tip that, when you hover over the name of a color, shows a little image of that color. But when you hover over the text the little thumbnail shows up and makes it easy to recognize the color. The problem is I haven't got a clue how to get the src for the thumbnail. I don't know how to extract the src from the img inside the selected element. I've tried various combinations using the this keyword, but nothing seemed to work. I've also tried to add the src path as a rel attribute to the label, but also without any success. Should be needless to say I also control the PHP-output... I really hope you can help me. Having trouble plugging jQuery FullCalendar into Squarespace page

When I test the fullcalendar widget locally, it works fine. However, when I try to integrate it with Squarespace, it doesn't show up. I can't figure out why this isn't working! The calendar should definitely fit in the div space (at least it does locally). I've used jQuery with Squarespace before, and I don't see where my error is.
