  Hi, I'm trying to run this snippet in Python 3.1 console and I'm getting SyntaxError: >>> while True: ... a=5 ... if a<6: ... break ... print("hello") File "<stdin>", line 5 print("hello") ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax >>> (This is just shortened code to make a point.) • inputMismatchException Java reading doubles from plain text file

  Using double variable = inputFile.nextDouble(); Gives the mismatch error and I can't figure out why... Anyone know what's up? The input file is just a bunch of doubles like 5.0... Okay here is the code snippet String fileName; Scanner scanner = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.println("\nEnter file name that contains the matrix and vector: "); fileName = scanner.nextLine(); Scanner inputFile = new Scanner(fileName); double a1 = inputFile.nextDouble(); the input file is a plain text document .txt in this format 5.0 4.0 -3.0 4.0 2.0 5.0 6.0 5.0 -2.0 -13.0 4.0 12.0 I don't understand why it wouldn't take those as doubles... As far as what its expecting the format of the file to be... I suppose binary? isn't that the default? I didn't specify in the code...

  Could you please explain why the shell redirection doesn't work with System.Diagnostics.Process class? I am trying to redirect the output streams to file with the following snippet: Process p = new Process(); p.StartInfo = new ProcessStartInfo(); p.StartInfo.FileName = "java.exe"; p.StartInfo.Arguments = @"> c:\Temp\test.log 2>&1"; p.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = true; p.Start(); The similar code works without problems with Python. Reading the output streams programmatically doesn't seem a preferable solution in my case because there will be a bunch of processes launched by my application.

  I'm trying to create a method that will sum two timeO objects and return a new TimeO object called sum. Here is the relevant code snippet: public static TimeO add (TimeO t1, TimeO t2) { TimeO sum = new TimeO ; ... } When i try to compile it i get this error message: TimeO.java:15: '(' or '[' expected TimeO sum = new TimeO ; ^ 1 error i cant think of any reason why it would want me to open a set of parenthasies or brackets here but its possible that i dont' quite understand the syntax. Whats going wrong here?

  Ok, I'm not sure how this is normally done. But I've got a script that basically empties a div of content and then loads content from a div from a separate webpage, without reloading the current page. This works great. It's taken from this example actually, from net tuts (great site btw) http://nettuts.s3.amazonaws.com/011_jQuerySite/sample/index.html And the guy who wrote this even though about handling the url's since the url don't change when using his method. So he wrote a javascript snippet that looks up the url and loads the content accoringly. Which is not working btw. But I was thinking about people who don't have javascript enabled, or iPhone and iPad users ;) Copying URLs and sending to a friend won't work at all. So how is this typically done? And can it be done without javascript? Possibly by php?

• xml parsing takes extra spaces.

  I have been trying to write/parse xml file in python. The tags are very simple <main> <data> abcdef </data> </main> I have written this xml using xml document writer from xml.dom.minidom. How-ever when i try to parse this and try to fetch data-text value, i get 'abcdef' with spaces/carriage return/newline characters in beg and end. Does parsing does not take of indenting spaces? Following is the parsing snippet (ref from net) dom = parseString(data) clipTag = dom.getElementsByTagName('clipdata')[0].toxml() clipData=clipTag.replace('<clipdata>','').replace('</clipdata>','') Kindly suggest.

  I'm writing a code for a voting machine that will allow user to read in custom XML ballots and then vote on them, however in the current build I have in QtCreator, I don't see an easy way to edit buttons in my GUI directly. In the code snippet below, I assign an element to pull out the names and type of ballot being read in, but I need to append a label on the GUI as well as change buttons to the names of candidates read in.   I have the following HTML snippet <tr> <td class="1">...</td> <td class="2">...</td> <td class="3">...</td> <td class="4">...</td> </tr> etc... I basically have N rows, and each row contains 4 TD's each with a unique class. I would like a simple way to split out all the rows and TD's by class so I can choose what data I want to use. I expect the easiest way to achieve this would be regex (maybe two). One to split up the TR's then another to split up the TDs (by class preferably) Thanks

  I've got some non-copyable classes. I don't invoke any of the copy operators or constructor, and this code compiles fine. But then I upgraded to Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate instead of Professional. Now the compiler is calling the copy constructor- even when the move constructor should be invoked. • How can I find if an arbitrary process is running under wow64?

  I need a tool which will discover whether an arbitrary process is running in x86 or x64 mode on a machine. I need to do this programatically from C++, based on a process ID. There has to be some way to do this (as you can clearly see it from the task manager). Does anyone know of a windows api that will tell you, given a process ID, whether the application is running under wow64? Another approach would be to figure out, based on the process id, the executable name/path that is running and try to read the PE headers out of the file. Does anyone have a code snippet that would accomplish that?
